Configuring File adapter for OSB

Hi,
I wish to process invoice data that will be in the csv file . The structure of the file is as following :
$H$<<Supplier Name>>,<<Supplier Site>>,<<Invoice Number>>
$D$<<Line Number>> ,<<Business Unit>>,<<Location>>,<<Store Name>>
$D$<<Line Number>> ,<<Business Unit>>,<<Location>>,<<Store Name>>
$H$<<Supplier Name>>,<<Supplier Site>>,<<Invoice Number>>
$D$<<Line Number>> ,<<Business Unit>>,<<Location>>,<<Store Name>>
$D$<<Line Number>> ,<<Business Unit>>,<<Location>>,<<Store Name>>
The intent is to configure the file adapter in such a fashion that it rejects the entire invoice if there are any errors in any of the lines that belong to that invoice. The invoices that follow the erred inovice should be processed normally. How do I configure the adapter to achieve this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Configuring the adapter for rejecting the invalid invoice rows is not possible. Adapter should be configured as usual to read all the rows. Once the rows are read, you can have all validation in the proxy service. If you find any invalid rows, you can write those rows to a saperate file so that it can be corrected and fed again. And all the other valid rows can be sent for further processing.
Thanks,
Vishwa

  • File adapter in OSB

    Hi ,
    I am trying to use file adapter in OSB. My intention is the OSB should write a file in a specified location in my sytem. I have configured the Business Service with Messagin service in (general tab), request msg as text and response msg as none in(messagin tab), protocol as file in (transport tab), prefix as AddUser suffix as *.txt* in (file transport tab).
    whenever i give input in proxy service it writing the file at the specified location, but the issue is,it writes the file name as AddUser3225734920456246193--12c3763f.132dd1769a3.-7f5b.txt . i dont need this part(AddUser3225734920456246193--12c3763f.132dd1769a3.-7f5b) in file name which is written. can anyone tell me how i can solve this?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    We can go with transport JCA FILE for file writing into the specified location.
    Create a file adapter in jdeveloper with all specified things like (file name,physical path location and schema).This creates the jca and wsdl file in jdevloper copy this to eclipse(OEPE) and later u can create business service based on jca file in eclipse.Or else in osb sbconsole copy import related jca and wsdl files and create business service based on this.This process wil create file in particular location with name specified in the jca file in particular location.....

  • Unable to configure file adapter using FCC  for Multilevel hierarchy

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone help me in configuring the Receiver file adapter with FCC for the structure given below
    <Root>
    <Level1>
         <Ele1>
         <Ele2>
         <Level2>
                <Ele2_1>
                <Ele2_2>
                <Level2a>
                        <Ele2a_1>
                        <Ele2a_2>
                </Level2a>
         </Level2>
    </Level1>

    Hi dineshmale,
    I have do this Multilevel hierarchy before. FCC can directly configure this scenario. But I don't know you output format. What my format shown below(here i use '#' instead of space):
    Level1_Field1##Level1_Field2##Level1_Field3##Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #######################################Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    Level1_Field1##Level1_Field2##Level1_Field3##Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #######################################Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    FCC Parameter:
    Recordset Structure: Level1,Level2,Level3
    Level1.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level2.beginSeparator = (some spaces according to the length of the fields in Level1)
    Level2.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level3.beginSeparator = (some spaces according to the length of the fields in Level1and Level2)
    Level3.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level3.endSeparator = \n
    There are some points:
    1. the endSeparator for Level1 and Level2 doesn't work.
    2. the first begin separator in Level2 and Level3 doesn't work.
    3. The last field of super node and the first field of child node is separated by the (child).fieldSeparator.
    4. ....
    What's more, I have write a blog of FCC For Hierarchical Structure in Receiver Channel just now. So it need two days for Approval. Let me know for any issues.

  • Configuring Receiver File Adapter for J2SE

    Hi All,
    I have a scenario in which i need to convert the IDOC data into a fixed length file.
    I did mapping according to the output structure of the file.
    My Output file format is as follows...
    Document1          document2      document3      etc
    Each document contains different fields with different lengths
    In XI-FIle adapter we give Recordset structure : Document1,Document2,Document3.
    But while configuring Receiver File adapter in J2SE.
    There is no option mentioned in J2SE Adapter.
    <b>http://saphelp.border-states.com/EN/95/bb623c6369f454e10000000a114084/content.htm</b>
    Please throw some light on the same.
    Thank You
    Regards,
    Reehan

    as far as i read the document, what i understood is that the J2SE adapter has a limitation.
    your XML structure should be as mention in the link;
    <i>To convert a table in XML format to pure text format, the document format must be the same as that which is generated by the sender file/FTP adapter in mode FILE2XMBWITHROWCONVERSION <i>(with the default value <row> for the structure)</i> and the sender JDBC adapter. This means that the document structure looks like this:
    <resultset>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</column-name3>
    </row>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</column-name3>
    </row>
    </resultset>
    This is an example for 3 columns and 2 lines. The number of lines and columns is, of course, unlimited. <b>The XML elements in italics can be defined by the user and the elements of a line must be grouped within an element of type <row> … </row></b>.</i>
    So cannot take the <b>recordset structure</b> as we have for the normal File adapter.

    I even tired creating a new WM thread and assigned to this proxy.
    I have chosen MaxThreadsConstraint option with Maximum of 5 concurrent thread.
    Also i have enabled Ignore Stuck Threads in that WM thread.
    Now i dont see any thread stuck in the server log, but sametime the file is not been picked by the Proxy which means the error is suppressed alone from displaying in logs..
    Thanks,

  • High Availability File Adapter in OSB

    If you use the JCA FileAdapter in OSB, it is necessary to use the eis/HAFileAdapter version, to ensure that only one instance of the adapter picks up a file; you must then configure a coordinator, by setting the
    controlDir, inboundDataSource, outboundDataSource, outboundDataSourceLocal, outboundLockTypeForWrite
    parameters.
    controlDir refers to the filesystem, the others to the DB
    This document http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/availability/maa-soa-assesment-194432.pdf says
    "Database-based mutex and locks are used to coordinate these operations in a File Adapter clustered topology. Other coordinators are available but Oracle recommends using the Oracle Database."
    Using a Oracle Database as coordinator means using RAC, otherwise no HA.
    I wonder if anybody has been successful setting up HAFileAdapter without using a DB?
    If DB is required, I am considering using the good old "native" OSB File Poller, since it doesn't require complicated setup to be run in a cluster... but I don't want to use MFL, I would rather use the XSD-based Native Format. Here comes the second question:
    Is it possible to use the nXSD translator using the OSB Native File Poller - instead of the JCA Adapter?
    Thank you so much for your help - it will be rewarded with "helpful/answered" points .
    pierre

    I wonder if anybody has been successful setting up HAFileAdapter without using a DB?
    I have not tried it but I think there are several options available invlucing writing your own custom mutex. Please find the details in Oracle File and FTP Adapters High Availability Configuration section on this link
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e10106/ha_soa.htm#sthref434
    Is it possible to use the nXSD translator using the OSB Native File Poller - instead of the JCA Adapter?
    When you create a JCA Adapter based Proxy Service to read the files, the nXSD translation happens before the proxy service is invoked. JCA Engine first reads the data, translates using nXSD and then invokes the Proxy with the translated content. (You can verify this easily by creating a JCA based file read service and open the test console for it in sbconsole, it will show you XML request instead of native).
    So you can not read the text content using File Transport of OSB and then calling nXSD directly or calling an nXSD based Proxy Service.
    HOWEVER, you certainly can use file and nXSD in a combination if thats what you want.
    1. Create a Synchronous Read File Adapter with an nXSD created for it
    2. Create a Business Service for that Synchronous Read JCA in OSB
    3. Create a File Transport based service in OSB which will read the content of file and then call the Business Service to again read the content (which will include the translation using nXSD defined in step one to convert the content to XML).
    So basically you will need to read the file twice! Once using File Transport Proxy service (which will take care of polling in cluster) and then using Sync Read JCA based business service(which will do nXSD translation). To reduce the impact of reading the file twice you can use trigger files. File Proxy to read trigger file and and invoke JCA business service to read the actual file for that trigger.
    Another alternative can be to create a similar class as present here(http://blogs.oracle.com/adapters/entry/command_line_tool_for_testing) but instead of writing a file it will just return the translated content. Call this class with native content from the File Transport proxy using a Java Callout to do the translation.

  • Problem with file adapter for delimiter

    Hi,
    I am working in a file-idoc scenario where i need to read a file with comma delimited body.
    Content configuration for the body of the file is as follows,
    BODY.fieldNames  F1,F2,KEY,F3,F4,F5        where KEY is the key field
    BODY.keyFieldValus 01
    BODY.fieldSeparator  ,
    BODY.endSeparator  'nl'
    For most of the cases it is working fine.
    The record for which this is not working is,
    AAA,,01,XXX,FFF,GGG
    XI file adapter is ignoring this records.
    1) I tried with some option like fieldContentFormatting but this is not working.
    2) Most surprisingly if i shift the KEY to left(in place of F2), record is getting picked up properly with SPACE in the tag KEY and '01' in F2.
    3) I tried using record like 126126,JJJ,01,,,GGG
       Record is picked up with value in F3 and F4 fields are SPACE.
    The problem is only with blank between two separator before KEY field.
    Is there any other parameter which can solve the problem.
    In case any body knows the solution please let me know.
    With Regards
    Amitesh

  • Configuring file adapter

    This is sundar here i putting my query is in xi
    While i am configuring the file adapter in
    comunication channel we will mention the file name
    given by us in sender & receiver sides. But i want to
    give file name dynamically.
    Plz give reply,
    [email protected]

    have a look to Dynamic File Name using XI 3.0 SP12 Part - I
    To be able to name the files accordingly, you should have these new names available in the payload of the message that is being sent to the receiver file adapter. You will have to enable the Variable Substitution indicator. For more details, read the same topic in the following help documentation:-
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/frameset.htm
    Also, since this value will be present in the payload and if you want to suppress it so that it can't be seen in the payload that is coming out of the rcvr file adapter, there is a workaround of suppressing this data. Refer to the follwing blog for the workaround:-

  • How to configure File Adapter (Read)..?

    Hi all,
    While configuring the Read Adapter in BPEL 11g i am getting not reading any data from given location. But my location are correct.. So please how to configure File Read adapter and give any URL for this ... Thank you

    Hi all,
    The file adapter it consists many operations like
    1: Read
    2:Write
    3:Synchronous Read
    4:ListFiles
    So you are asking about Read operation
    First you take one File Adapter-->Select Read Operation--->Give Incomming file Location ( In local system you can give like C:/temp/NewDir Or Unix Envornment like you can give /temp/NewDir)
    After that you can give file Name like wich format it's incomming file name like CSV.txt or CSV.xml after you give Polling Intervels second or Mintued or Hour.You can select Native format or Define service Later once configure all those things the file adapter configration is done . HI,  I have cinfigure one system of FILE ADAPTER TO JDBC ADAPTER, is working OK, but I need to Know  how configure The FIle adapter to get files one by one from the folder , I have the channel configure between 30 seconds, but when come to look for the files has them all ... I need to get one by one the files.
    Help me... RGRDS.

    Hi ,
             What is the operating system of your PI server sytem? If its unix/linux you can achieve this using shell scripts, for windows systems you need batch files. The script/batch file would run in background continuously. It will check how many files are present in a directory (say xyz) . Then one by one transfer the files to directory(say abc)  from where PI picks up files at regular interval. you need to use "sleep()" command in script so that the script puts files after some time interval say 90 seconds. The polling interval of comm channel in PI should be set less than sleep time interval of the script.In file sender adpater configuration please set the Processing Parameters -> Processing Mode-> Delete/archive. The script before putting a file in "abc " checks presence of any files. If there are some files it goes to sleep mode for few seconds and continues checking unless "abc" is empty. Then the script moves(as we do cut and paste in windows) file in "abc" directory.

    Actually they are not on the same file system.
    I have successfully used FTP Adapter to connect to a UNIX server.
