Configuring for Exchange
We have a Exchange 2007 server (with IMAP enabled) setup in our organisation and I'm trying to setup some users iPod's with exchange.
For example to setup exchange in outlook we type in "examplesvr01" into the Exchange server field and then the users name and hey presto there connected to our exchange system.
Exactly what are we supposed to type into the Incoming/Outgoing Mail Server Host Name field..? I've tried a few different conbinations but none seem to work.
Any Help...?
What barra_240t's response does not state (though it's implied) is that the current version of the IPT/iPhone software *does not* work with MS Exchange servers. So, you can stop trying...and wait for v2.0 in June (which will be a paid upgrade for the IPT).
Hope this helps...

DNS Configuration for Exchange 2013
I have a stand alone server 2012 with AD, DHCP, DNS and Exchange on it and started getting DDoS attacks
I installed a firewall had to change the subnet of the server from 10.0.0.0/24 to 192.168.1.0/24 and after re-configuring the Servers IP, DHCP and DNS found that I had no incoming email. (invalid Security Certificate)
I found that mail traffic was directed to the Router instead of Exchange and being rejected with the routers security certificate. I have since fiddled with the DNS so many times I don't know what is right and wrong
Anyone have any ideas where I have gone wrong what is in the tables that shouldn't be there and what is missing.

If you want to deploy AD FS with Single Sign-On(SSO), we need use certificate to establish secure trust between on-premises Exchange 2013 and Office online.

Iphone 4s configured for exchange 2010 rebuilds inbox
My iphone 4S keeps rebuilding the inbox multiple times per day. no events in the exchange server logs. this happen on wi-fi also.
can this be the resync timeout value that the ios 4 suffered with?
Thank YouI have the same problem on mu iPhone 4S, running iOS 5.1 .
I have 4 exchange profiles on my iPhone, but it's only the gmail account (which has been set up as exchange push) that rebuilds his inbox x times a day.
It's only since a couple of weeks, before it worked perfectly. -
Looking for help with respect to configuring MS Exchange server to handle attachments over 10 MB for forwarding to Salesforce (Email-to-case).
Problem - SFDC does not create cases from emails that have more than 10 MB of attachments. Our clients will not go-live if their clients cannot send in emails with attachments over 10 MBs
Potential resolution - Configure MS exchange to strip off the attachments(if over 10 MB) and store it in a public folder, forward the email to Salesforce (so the case gets created or the email
is associated to an existing case), the client should have some way to know if the attachments were stripped off and should be able to dlownload the attachments and continue with case resolution.
Any help is appreicated!
ThanksHi,
From your description, you want to achieve the following goal:
Configure Exchange to filter the attachments if the size is over 10 MB and store it in a public folder, and then forward the email to Salesforce.
Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid that it can't be achieved. Exchange can filter messages with attachments, but it couldn't store these attachments on public folder automatically. Also, I don't see any transport rule can do it.
Hope my clarification is helpful.

Configuring Lync Server 2013 to be a partner Application for Exchange 2013
Hello Guys,
I just want to share my experience while configuring Lync server 2013 to be a partner Application for exchange 2013 sever.
As mentioned on technet you need to run Configure-EnterprisePartnerApplication.ps1 script that ships with Exchange 2013.
But when I tried to run the script as described on the technet article, I found it always fails with " the accepted domain is not valid"
I have checked my accepted domains many times and i found that there's no issues with my configured accepted domain.
So I started to review the script to find the issue and I found that the script was configured as below
$acceptedDomains = Get-AcceptedDomain ;
if ($acceptedDomains -eq $null)
WriteError ("There is no accepted domain so user can not be created.")
$acceptedDomain = $acceptedDomains[0].Name;
if($UseDomainController -eq $true)
$user = New-MailUser -Name $username -DomainController $DomainController -ExternalEmailAddress $username@$acceptedDomain;
set-mailuser -Identity $user.Identity -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled $true -DomainController $DomainController
else
$user = New-MailUser -Name $username -ExternalEmailAddress $username@$acceptedDomain;
set-mailuser -Identity $user.Identity -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled $true;
which is totally wrong as below:
firstly it makes $AcceptedDomain variable to equal the Name of the accepted domain.
Not all customers configure the name of the Accepted Domain to be the Domain Name.
Secondly it makes $AcceptedDomain variable to equal the name of the first Accepted Domain.
The first domain may be not the default Accepted Domain.
So I have configured the script as below
$acceptedDomains = Get-AcceptedDomain | ? {$_.Default -eq "True"} ;
if ($acceptedDomains -eq $null)
WriteError ("There is no accepted domain so user can not be created.")
$acceptedDomain = $acceptedDomains.DomainName;
if($UseDomainController -eq $true)
$user = New-MailUser -Name $username -DomainController $DomainController -ExternalEmailAddress $username@$acceptedDomain;
set-mailuser -Identity $user.Identity -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled $true -DomainController $DomainController
else
$user = New-MailUser -Name $username -ExternalEmailAddress $username@$acceptedDomain;
set-mailuser -Identity $user.Identity -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled $true;
I hope This help.
Thanks
Ahmed FouadHi,
This is helpful, thanks for sharing.

Exchange account verified and configured for sync, but no messages show up
I think I'm having what appears to be, based on my reading of the threads on problems with Exchange set-up, a unique problem. Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and has advice.
I am able to verify and configure my Exchange mail account for sync (using my company's OWA server), but when I go into the mail application I see only my mail folders. The e-mails themselves do not appear. When I tap on a folder to access the messages inside I get a blank screen and a "connecting" message on the bottom.
When I have SSL on, the phone continually prompts me for my password and no matter how many times I enter the correct password it tells me it's wrong. I later get a message that mail cannot be accessed or sent because the "username or password" for the account is incorrect.
When I turn SSL off, I don't get the password prompt, but my messages still don't appear. The phone goes through the whole "connecting" cycle and then says "updated" but there are no e-mails visible and I cannot send.
I was able to set up the account as IMAP but this requires fetching messages and I really want to be able to configure push using Exchange ActiveSync. The company that runs our work email server (we are a small business and don't house the server internally) says it has other iPhones up and running using ActiveSync and the same information I've entered, so they're stumped as to what the problem is.
Please help!!!
Thanks in advance.Justin - try this
For those of you experiencing problems using OWA through Exchange on iPhone, I may have found a solution. Symptoms I had and have read about -
1. You enter all your account information on iPhone (webmail.company.com, user name p-word, etc)
2. You can see only your folders on iPhone but with no emails inside them
3. you keep getting asked for your password on iPhone over and over
Maddening to get so close to only see folders. I fixed mine and the answer was right in front of my face the whole time. Before entering username and password on iPhone, the format of how it's supposed to be is ghosted - Domain\Name
When I was having the "folders only" issue I had username set up as Domain/Name
Turns out the slash is the difference, for me anyway. As soon I changed from front slash to back slash, entered my password (once) all my folders populated with emails. A miracle !
So to recap, here's my setup
Email - [email protected]
Server - [email protected]
Username - companyorg\name
Password - normal outlook password
Description - My Email Account
Use SSL - ON
I know there are many variations with Exchange and OWA depending on server setup, but the moral my story is back slash instead of front slash in the Domain\username field -

Configure send connector for exchange online protection
Hello Forum members,
I am trying to configure send and receive connectors for Exchange 2010 to route
on-premises mailboxes to Exchange OnLine Protection. The "help" info MS provides
is for Ex 2013 - and the EAC GUI and config does not lend a close fit to using the 2010
Exch Management Console. How can I configure connectors to properly connect to the Exchange Online Protection?
I have seen where the ip addresses are posted, etc. I am unclear how to configure the properties on the SBS 2011/EX 2010 server.
Any tips will help,
Thanks,
Eric H.
Network and Server InstallsHello Wesleyhe,
You cannot use AD anything with EOP - if you mean exchange on-line protection.
you have to set a smart host on the SBS server to connect to EOP, you may need to add the EOP server ips to your network config
on the SBS server. the smart host line (for the send connector on SBS server) is something like: yourdomainname-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.
Then you need to configure the outside ip for your SBS server access in the EOP admin area.
Hope this helps.

Network and Server Installs -
Hello All:
I am receiving an error when I run the Manage Hybrid Configuration wizard - ERROR:Updating hybrid configuration failed with error 'Subtask NeedsConfiguration execution failed: Configure Recipient Settings. I have opened a SR, but figured I'd try the forums,
too. I have a wildcard certificate from GoDaddy (MS says they support wildcards from GoDaddy) & that cert has only the IIS service applied to it on the CAS. I've read in the Exchange Server Deployment Assistant that it should have the SMTP & IIS services
assigned to it, but my question is - SMTP on the CAS (separate server) or on the Mailbox/Hub Transport (separate server)? And what are the ramifications of assigning the SMTP service to, let's say, the CAS? We have had multiple issues every time the servers
get updated/changed; I do not want to disrupt services further, as the Manage Hybrid Configuration will be done during business hours.
If anyone can provide any assistance/clarification, it would be most appreciated.
Thank you.Hi,
We can enable a Wildcard certificate with SMTP service for Exchange Hybird Deployment. The SMTP service can be assigned to multiple certificates. For some Exchange services such as OWA, Ecp, ActiveSync, Autodiscover service, OOF, it is used with Exchange
certificate with IIS service. And there is usually only one certificate can be assigned with IIS service.
Please just make sure your Wildcard certificate can contain all namespaces which are used for all internal URL and External URL configuration in Exchange services. About how to import an existing wildcard certificate on the Exchange 2010 Hybird servers,
please refer to the Import & Enable Third Party Certificate on Hybrid Servers
part in the following article:

Configuration for LDAP IP Address and Port for Exchange 2010
Let's say Exchange 2010 is installed on a computer that is joined to a domain. However, I would like to redirect LDAP authentication to another IP address and another port like how sharepoint implement it below
http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/33540/ldap-authentication-connection-string
Is it possible to do the equivalent for Exchange 2010?
Note: I would like to do this without installing any Edge Transport server or Microsoft Forefront TMGThe question I would need to ask is "Why would you need to do this?" I ask because Exchange requires an Active Directory account for authentication. That account may have permissions from some other directory (as in a linked mailbox),
but the account is used to find it. For SharePoint, you can authenticate to other directories directly. -
Using the pre-configured SCCM 2012 SP1 endpoint protection templates for Exchange 2010?
I am looking to update the exclusions for SCCM Endpoint Protect clients performing server AV protection on Exchange 2010 nodes.
Within SC there are a number of pre-defined templates, including ones for Exchange 2007 / 2010. However when I analyse these they do not appear to list all the exclusions that the Exchange product team define on TechNet -
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb332342(v=exchg.141).aspx
So do I;
1 - Use the template as it has been verified by Microsoft for using with Exchange 2010 and it covers all I need to exclude?
2 - Edit the template, adding in the additional exclusions as defined by the Exchange product team?
Would whichever logic I use apply to other templates, such as SQL, SharePoint, etc as well?
Thank you
AlanAs I cut and pasted the xml file I noticed the following comment that I had missed before..........
<!-- Exchange -->
<!-- Exchange Server 2010 exclusions are defined in TechNet bb332342 -->
<!-- Although the exclusions defined in the article work, testing showed that they exceed what is necessary-->
Still going with adding the full recommended list from TechNet though -
Hello all,
I am a sysadmin at a 3 campus school, and am trying to extend our AD schema to include Exchange 2013 attributes so that we can configure groups synced to Office 365 using DirSync. However it keeps failing at the same point each time.
I have tried with RTM first, and then CU6, but I keep getting the same error and am unsure how to fix it.
"repadmin /showrepl" says that our 3 DCs are replicating with no issues, and I'm trying to extend the schema using an "Enterprise Admin"/"Schema Admin" account on our schema master DC.
Our domain/forest functional level is Server 2008R2, and we do not have an Exchange server set up already - if that helps.
The PowerShell error is:
