Configuring iPod to play many podcasts in sequence

Hi,
How can I configure my iPod to play many short podcasts in sequence, without needing to click one by one as each one ends?
Thanks in advance...
Marcelo Segnori (Brasil)

What if you put them into a playlist?

  • When I updated the software on my ipod 4 touch, many podcasts were erased. When I synced the ipod, they were erased from the ipod also. The current itunes does not allow me to go back to these dates (a few months) and re-download? Can I? and prevent this?

When I upgraded the software on my ipod touch4, many podcasts were deleted from itunes. Of course, when I synced the ipod, they were deleted from the ipod as well. Apparently the current version of itunes will not let me go back to these earlier episodes (just a few months), in a podcast that I have been subscribed to, and re-download them. Is there a way to do that? and, how can I prevent this from happening again?

Hey! I had the same problem you did just today when I was trying to get my second iPhone to sync. What you need to do with music or anything extra that you doing you have to creat a second playlist or picture or anything that you would like to use, so that you can add to the second device that you are going to be using. I am not sure if that will help but it helped me out a lot!! Good luck!

  • My Ipod doesnt play every podcast

It' s my third ipod. The first had an error. The second also. I don't know if the third has also an error. There are some podcasts which do not work on my ipod. They work in itunes but when i try to copy them on my ipod he says: "this podcast do not work on your ipod because of the format".There are about 19 podcats which do not work Sometimes when there are 3parts of the serie the first part works and the others not. It's not normal?

The fact that the Podcasts will not play because they are in the wrong format is normal, and it doesn't mean your iPod has an error, it just means your iPod doesn't know how to read/play the format the Podcasts are in. Try selecting the Podcasts that do not play in iTunes and then go to the advanced menu in iTunes and select "convert selection for iPod/iPhone" then re-transfer the newly converted podcast(s) to your iPod and see if they play now?

An iPod nano 6th gen isn't compatible with playing video, so it just plays the audio.

  • IPhone 4 - iPod app plays music/podcasts with reverb - How do I make it stop?

    Hello!
Recently, when I play music or podcasts from my iPhone 4, whether into headphones, from the phone itself, or connected to speakers, it plays it with a sort of echo or reverb.
It does not do this when I am on speaker phone.
I can't think of what could be causing this, but I use my iPod often, especially in my car on the long drive to and from work.
It's kind of creepy sometimes, depending on what's playing, not to mention, just annoying that it's happening in the first place.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this, and how it can be fixed?

    CORRECTION:
After Apple gave me a new phone, it worked fine for a while, then the problem started again once I plugged it into the Aux input in my car.  I unplugged it, and tested the phone by itself, still did it.  But only on podcasts.
My husband did some more research and corrected the problem.  Here's what was happening:
When you play podcasts, and you're in the "now playing" screen that's a translucent black, shows volume, where you're at in the podcast, etc.  In the upper right corner of this screen, there is a little white box that says "1x".  Touching this box will allow you to change the speed of the podcast (I guess some people are such avid podcast listeners, that it saves them time to listen to it faster).  I had coincidentally and unknowingly changed the speed of the podcast to "1.1x" which just made it sound funny, not faster.
He changed it back to "1x", and everything is now hunky dory!  But thanks for the new phone, Apple!  Just wanted to clear that up.  Sorry for the confusion.

  • Can't get ipod to play a podcast a second time

    Help!
I have no trouble getting and playing podcasts on my ipod mini, but once I finish listening to the podcast, it dissapears from the ipod and will not reload back on the ipod no matter what I've tried.
The podcasts are still in iTunes and will play in iTunes, I just can't get them to play again on the ipod.
I don't have fast connection, so I'd rather not reload them.
    I'm using iTune 5 iPod 1.4.
    Thank you,
    Mark Evans

if that still fails, try renaming the project to something MUCH shorter:

  • How do I play one Podcast at a time?

My old IPod played one Podcast at a time. My new 160 Classic plays them continually. Is there a way to get my new IPod to play one Podcast at a tme?

Turn on *shuffle songs* and then start the Podcast episode you want. The display should say "1 of 1" because all Podcasts are set to *Skip on shuffle* so the one you're playing is the only option for the iPod.

  • I can't get my ipod to play the next podcast in sequence.

My old Mini played podcasts in sequence. At the end of one, it moved to the next podcast by the same author. My current 5th Gen goes back up to the main menu at the end of every podcast. Very frustrating! Thank you for your help!

You may need to have them in a playlist.
Also...if you have Shuffle turned on, make sure they're not set to Skip When Shuffling.

  • Ipod Classic will no longer play video podcasts after upgrade to iTunes 10.

I have a 120GB Classic. I used to be able to play video podcasts just fine. Since upgrading to iTunes 10.0 in September I can see Podcasts with a little video symbol next to them on the iPod, but when I click on them the screen goes black for a couple of seconds, then flips back to the menu. If I copy the Podcast to a playlist, I get audio but no video, as always. The video podcast plays fine on the PC. I've tried "converting to iPod or iPhone version" with no success. I've Googled this problem and found many others with this issue, none with their question answered. Does anyone know if this is an issue acknowledged by Apple, and if so, do they plan to fix it? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
    Thanks.

am having the same problem with hannah montana episodes, anyone have a solution? apple?

  • Playing Certain Podcasts with EQ Messes Up iPod

I think when i play a podcast episode and change the EQ settings in the middle of it
then playing a new podcast would make the iPod turn off with a "strange sound" and make it restart
after restarting, songs become scrambled and start to skip. I solve this problem by reseting my iPod but that doesn't work all the time so i had to restore many times.
After trials and error, i think the problems are because of the EQ settings, because when i turned it off, i can play podcasts without messing up my iPod.
Is there a compatability problem between the EQ and Podcasts?

Update to iPod firmware. This was fixed with version 1.2

  • Since downloading 11.0.1 (12), Itunes can't locate or play many songs but the same songs still play on my synched iPod.

Since downloading Itunes 11.0.1 (12), Itunes can't locate or play many songs but the same songs still play on my synched iPod. I have a MacBook Air, Lion OS, Itunes version 11.0.1 (12).  I didn't see this problem with older versions of Itunes.  I do not manually change the organization of the Itunes library.  I use the Itunes "add to library" feature or Amazon's MP3 downloader.  Sometimes, however, I have changed song information in the "info" window.  Such as unchecking the "compilation" button and sorting by artist (for that song), so that I can search by artist in the top pane of Itunes (otherwise the song is sorted in an album that is a "compilation," but not under the name of the artist who sang a particular song.  I've done this without problem in the past, but perhaps the newer version of Itunes can't handle the changes I made and has lost track of where the older version of Itunes stored such songs?    How do I fix all these older previously ok changes if that's the case...  If I could just find where they are stored in Itunes it would be easier perhaps.  I've looked in compilations, unknown artist, and so forth to no avail.  And Finder search can't find them.
Details: suddenly, many songs are marked with "!," denoting that Itunes cannot find the songs in the library and cannot play them. Oddly, my iPod CAN play the "unlocatable" songs with no problem (it has been synched "post problem").  So the songs are still there somewhere in the Itunes library.  This problem occurs by album, that is, all songs from the same album become unlocatable, although different albums by the same artist may still be found and played.
Exploring the Itunes library to try to locate the missing albums/songs, I discovered that generally there is no longer any folder specified for any artist associated with a missing album [artist is the top level of organization and album is the second; compilations are in the same folder]. This is true even if I have other albums from the same artist which Itunes IS able to locate.  I cannot find a single song/album by such artists anywhere in the Itunes file system, even the ones that Itunes can still play.  If I right click and "get info" for an unlocatable song, I get a notification box that asks if I want to locate the file.  If I click "no," next thing-- the info window for the song pops up, with all the correct info (including sort info, which I double check)!  Why is Itunes able to locate all the info on the song, but is not able to play the MP3 file?
Using Finder I cannot locate the songs that are unlocatable by Itunes (except the original download files in the Amazon MP3 folder).  Finder is, of course, able to find Itunes songs that Itunes has no trouble locating.  What's up?!  My iPod can find them just fine.  I just synched my iPod again and am playing the "unlocatable" songs right now.
I can "fix" most of these files by downloading files one by one into Itunes from my Amazon download folder or from my CDs using the "add to library" feature. In fact, it is strange.  But this will take a very long time!  And what if this problem continues recurring?   But something strange happens when I implement this fix.  I added one song to Itunes (from the Amazon MP3 folder, using "add to library") for one "unlocatable" album of Pete Seegers. After adding that one song, I looked at the Itunes music library and discovered that a folder for Pete Seeger (which was not there before I added the song) had been newly created, or restored.  In this folder was the one song I had just added, but ALSO all my other Seeger albums that had previously remained "locatable" by Itunes.  But the other "unlocatable" songs were not restored, unfortunately.

I have found a workaround. When I create a new playlist, iTunes allows me to add or remove songs from existing playlists for a short while. Then, for some reason it prevents me from adding and deleting songs again. Not sure why. Go figure.

My Itunes on my laptop will no longer sync any podcasts or audiobooks to my mini Ipad, and my Ipod as well. After I sync and try to play a podcast on both I get the following podcast is temporarily unavailable! I can downld on ipad and it works, I just did a disagnostics check, and I get there error Secure Link to Itunes has failed? *** over >? anyone thank you

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

  • New iPod nano 6G does not play any Podcast or Video

I am having a problem with the newest iPod nano (6th G). After downloading some podcast from the internet and synchronise them via iTunes to the device it's not possible to watch the video. Audio file is ok, but Video won't start (I only see the first 'picture' of the video).
Is it not possible to watch podcasts?
Is it only possible to hear something?
I reset(re-start) the device three times, but everytime it's the same.
    Are there any tipps?
    Thanks for help...

It will play video podcasts, it will only play the audio portion and use the first frame of the video as the album art.
Just remember, if it is a podcast, to get to it so you can play it, you have to press and hold the button on the top till it starts speaking playlists. Then when it speaks the podcast name, release the button. Then it will start playing the podcasts.

  • My iPod crashes when I try to play a podcast

For the last few weeks, whenever I go to play a podcast I have downloaded it gets a minute in and then my iPod crashes and resets itself to the menu page. Everything else - songs, videos etc all work properly, it's just the podcast. Can anyone help me stop it doing this? It's really annoying.

I'll bet it's annoying! Does it do it with EVERY podcast you download, or just one? Is it sound only or a video podcast?

  • My I-Pod plays all podcast in reverse order such as 3.2.1 no matter how I arrange them in I-Tunes.  How do I get my I-Pod to play in the proper 1,2,3 sequence?

My 3rd gen I-Pod plays all podcast in reverse order, even if I manually try to load it.  I will only automatically play in 3,2,1 order.  Even brought it to the Apple Store and they couldn't figure it out either.  Even bought another I-Pod and still plays in reverse order.  Any ideas out there?
Thanks in advance for any help, Ty

They did not order the podcasts correctly in the playlist then.  Several people, including myself, have been able to play podcasts in sequential order.
When viewing the playlist in iTunes, look to the far left of each episode. There should be a number next to it.  This is the ordering of the playlist.  Sort the playlist in sequential order and view the numbering along the leftmost column and see if the ordering matches up as desired. If they don't, you'll need to drag and drop tracks until they are.
Once the ordering is as desired, right->click on the playlist and choose Copy to Play Order. Then resync the playlist over to your iPod.
