Configuring LDAP with Disscussion Forum Application

Hi,
I am using the Discussion Forum app available on the packaged applications list on the OTN site. I have tried configuring LDAP settings with this forum application, but it does not seem to work...
Expecting a reply from anyone who has used this app and tried configuring this with LDAP.

As far as I know, it will not work without modifying some parts of the application.
Why not?
LDAP is a table of users with access-rights.
In the forum-applicytion the table odf_users regsiters the people having access to this.
So, you need to solve the problem of two user-tables.

Looks like that there is something wrong with the authentication repository that you created with your LDAP connection.
Connection might be successful but for authentication, you need to create an authentication repository with that connection.
Follow the OEG user guide for this and reply v=back in case you get further issues.

Error while configuring LDAP with BO XI R2

We have BO XI R2 and LDAP 8.7.3.7(Novell eDirectory). While trying to configure BO XI R2 to have LDAP authentication getting the following error:
The secLdap plugin failed to get the dn for the group.
We have followed meticulously the steps given in the configuration guide and tried all other options given in various BO forums.

What is the last Oracle support date of 11i (Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2) ? I mean no new patch for bug fixing, no Oracle Expert answering Customers' Questions via Metalink.

I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect", which is Windows lingo for "missing package dependencies". All the computers at my company with 2010 loaded seem to do OK. When I do a Dependencies Walk I get missing Visual C debug dll's missing plus IEshims and wer which both have a whole tree of dependencies missing on my machine. The Windows install is the same "Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 3" So I'm thinking I have to uninstall 2011 and go back to 2010. Is this correct? Those VC debug dll's were installed on the machines with 2010 in them but were not installed in mine.

Can any pls explain with technical details and steps how do i configure sap xi with third party application and what type of connectivity and interfacing communication channel is preffered?
Is there any option to web-services for interfacing between SAP system-SAP XI system-Third party Application.
Pls be specific if and only if u have done this scenario.

This is a very generic question. There are some getting started guides available in the main XI section on SDN, and also some step-by-step guides in the wiki section. A quick search will get you tons of information.
 
The choice of connectivity and interfacing communication channel is really dependent on the capabilities of the third party system.

And, once again, IESHMS and WER have other dependencies. So perhaps i need to install the Visual C++ development environment.
IESHIMS.dll is an Internet Explorer DLL that gets usually delay loaded by shdocvw.dll. As delay load it can not cause DLL load errors but only runtime errors. Maybe your DLL has it as direct dependency but that is unlikely since it does not have a documented interface.
WER.dll is Windows error reporting for Vista/Win7.
MFC90D.dll is the Microsoft Foundation classes and MSVCR90D.dll is the MS C runtime library, both as debug variant.
So all the DLLs you mention are actually MS DLLs! You haven't identified the DLL that you try to access in LabVIEW that causes these error messages. IESHIMS and WER are usually delay loaded by any component that needs it and should not likely be used by non MS code.
What is the DLL you try to load into LabVIEW and by whom? Get the provider of that DLL to provide you a non Debug build of the DLL. Installing Visual C on all the machines just to make the DLL load is not a solution, besides that it is likely not legal since I doubt you have that many licenses.

How to configure ldap.ora with multiple ldap contexts

Hello.
My company has recently taken on another environment with it's own LDAP configuration. It's a bit tedious to have to keep switching my ldap.ora for both ldap configurations. Are there any good suggestions for either allowing me to search both LDAP configurations (2 separate LDAP setups, with 2 default context)? Or is there a smooth way to populate 1 LDAP with the others data? Or perhaps some form of redirect on one LDAP to the other LDAP server for queries?
Some basic info: LDAP is Oracle OID version 10gR2
Please let me know if you have any useful ideas...

Why you can not use OVD to improve these? Read, LDAP to the other LDAP server for queries, allowing you to search both LDAP?

after that i create the new web application with claimauthweb and selected trusted identity provider.
but when i create again new web application with different name and ip , after when i login to new web application using custom
sts it redirects to sts login page and after it goes to claimauthweb application not the new web application.
so here how i unregister with old web application and again register sts with new web applicatio?

I believe if you want to run this you will need to remove the provider from all Web Applications in CA. Then you should be able to run Remove-SPTrustedIdentityTokenIssuer.

Changing xwork-community-custom.xml file in Forums Application

could someone give me details on how to customize the file xwork-community-custom.xml, to override actions defined in xwork-community.xml?
My problem in detail:
I want to delete the "My questions" area in profile view, because we don´t have a "question scenario" in our company.
As it is no jsp file, that i can directly change, but a ftl file that is included in the forums.jar file I want to override the actions "profile" and "edit-profile", which are included in xwork-community.xml, so that I dont´t have to change the jar file directly . The file now looks like that:

For that I copied this two actions in "xwork-community-custom.xml" and now want to change the value for e.g.
"/templates folder.
What do I have to write in the xml to reference to this file? In jive forum s.o. wrote to write only the the file name as reference and that this has the effect that ftl file fromtheme folder is taken, but that didn´t work.
I tried nearly everything but it has no effect. I also restarted server etc.
Every other change was no problem, and even if i place a ftl file in themes folder which has the same name as as JSP file the framework tries to render the ftl file, but in the other case no chance.
Could someone please give a tip, how i can do my changes?

for all who want to get a little bit deeper in Jive application, than configuring things with admin console....solution was the following:
- look for ftl file in xwork-community.xml file, which is responsible for the specific action (in my case cp-tabs.ftl)
- look for the path of the original ftl file in jiveforums-<version>.jar
- extract ftl file you want to modify and do your changes
- have a look into ..../com.sap.netweaver.coll.forums/servlet_jsp/forums/root/template if the path specified in jar file already exists (normally not). If not create folder structure. In my case I had to create forums/include
- put the customized file into the new folder
- restart application server
--> "my questions" area in profile is gone

Configuring php5 with enable XML on OAS 10.1.3.x

My requirement is to enable XML on OAS 10.1.3.5.
I am not sure how to configure it, so I stated using separate PHP5.2 to configure with XML enable on the server. After installation, when I am starting the opmn services I am getting below error. I think the error with platform. Which means current OS version is 64bit and php5.2 stage is 32bit version I guess.

You can try installing glibc-devel to fix this.
However on my version :
Application Server Control Release 10.1.2.3.0 - PHP 5 does not seem to work. The conflict on mine is that PHP 4 came wrapped in the Oracle install and they don't play well together.
Make sure your httpd.conf does not have this in it :
LoadModule php4_module libexec/libphp4.soI'm NOT advising you to remove it if its there, I'm merely pointing to a possible conflict.

Creating SSL certificate and configuring it with JBOSS 4.0.1

I have to post some data to a secured site from my application.
For this, I am creating connection to that site using URLConnection and to send data I create OutputStream using the connection.
But, while creating the stream it is showing SSLException and message is No trusted certificate found.
For this, I need to create SSL certificate (mostly using keytool command) and configure it with my application server which is JBOSS 4.0.1
Now, my problem is that I don't know the exact steps to create a certificate and configure it with JBOSS. Please provide the steps in detail.

I think you have this back to front. Unless this exception came from the server, in which case it is misconfigured, you don't have to create a certificate, you have to import the server's certificate, or that of one of its signers, into the client's truststore, and tell Java where the truststore is if it's in a non-standard location.

I will try to clarify your doubts.
In the output below both resources (proxy-connections and ssl-connections rate) are configured with a min percentage of resources (column Min), while 'Max' is set to equal to the min.

Most columns are self explanatory, 'Current' is current usage, 'Peak' is the maximum value reached, and the most important counter to monitor 'Denied' represents the amount of packets denied/dropped due to exceeding the configured limits.
On the resources themselves, Proxy-connections is simply the amount of proxied connections, in other words all connections handled at layer 7 (SSL connections are proxied, as are any connections with layer 7 load balance policies, or inspection).
So in this particular case for the proxy-connections we see that Peak is equal to the Max allocated, and as we have denies we can conclude that you have surpassed the limits for this resource. We see there were 17872 connections dropped due to that.
ssl-connections rate should be read in the same manner, however all values for this resource are in bytes/s, except for Denied counter, that is simply the amount of packets that were dropped due to exceeding this resource.
For your particular tests you have allocated a min percentage and set max equal to min, this way you make sure that this context will not use any other additional resources.
If you had set the max to unlimited during resource allocation, ACE would be allowed to use additional resources on top of those guaranteed, if those resources were available.
This might sound a great idea, but resource planning on ACE should be done carefully to avoid any sort of oversubscription, specially if you have business critical contexts.
We have a good reference for ACE resource planning that contains also description of all resources (this will help to understand the output better):

1) When a resource is utilized to its maximum limit, the ACE denies additional requests made by any context for that resource. In other words, the action is to Drop. ACE should in theory silently drop (No RST is sent back to the client). So unless we changed something on the code, this is what you should see.
To give more context, seeing resets with SSL connections is not necessarily synonym of drops. As it is usual to see them during normal transactions.
For instance Microsoft servers are usually ungracefully terminating SSL connections with RESET. Also when there is renegotiation during an SSL transaction you may see RESETS, but this will pass unnoticed for end users.
2) ACE will simply drop/ignore new connections when we reach the maximum amount of proxied connections for that context. Exisiting connections will continue there.
As ACE doesn't respond back, client would simply retransmit, and if he is lucky maybe in the next attempt he will be able to establish the connection.
To overcome the denies, you will definitely have to increase the resource allocation. This of course, assuming you are not reaching any physical limit of the box.
As mentioned setting max as unlimited might work for you, assuming there are a lot of unused resources on the box.
3) If a new connection comes in with a sticky value, that matches the sticky entry of a real server, which is already in MAXCONNS state, then both the ACE module/appliance should reject the connection and that sticky entry would be removed.
The client would at that point reestablish a new connection and ACE would associate a new sticky entry with the flow for a new RSERVER after the loadbalancing decision.

Can you please provide details about what you are missing ? There is nothing different here compared to what you do when integrating CUCM or CUC with LDAP... You have to set the administrator DN and password, and the search base. Only thing is that you have to restart the PCA application after saving the settings. Then you can create admin users with their LDAP userID, checking the LDAP box so that authentication happens vs. LDAP, and giving them the permissions that they need against the Assurance Domains you have created (default is Enterprise which is the top-level domain).
