Configuring MAP Quarter in tcode GVAR (regards to MAP in BI)

Hi,
I'm activating and configuring business content for Merchandise and Assortment Planning in BI, (BI cont 7.04).
I have a huge activation guide from SAP, but this is old and when MAP was based on BPS, now it is in BI IP. (It can be found here if you're interested: http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/600/html/R61_EN_RU.htm)
According to the newer, but very much less detailed guide (http://help.sap.com/SCENARIOS_BUS2008/helpdata/EN/72/164a4135fff66fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm), I need to define MAP Month, week and quarter in transaction GVAR in BI system.
My question is, does anybody know how to configure the MAP Quarter? As this is not in the guide, I can't seem to get it correct.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi again,
in GVAR i add 4 periods, the correct month, and the last sunday of the period, but when trying to save i get the error "Gaps in financial year variant periods MQ".
Can anybody suggest me, or if I have put this question in the wrong forum, where would it be best to ask to get an answer? (And is it possible to for me to move this thread, or need to close it and create a new one?)

Regarding Value Mapping

Iam doing a scenario which deals with value mapping,and there are duplicate values in destination for different sources.I have created a Group for all repeating values in destination,and i have used that name to map for different sources.But my scenario is not working as desired.What do i do?

You may not be using value mapping for its intended purpose. It should be used to map between different ID schemes for the same entities, such as companies, persons etc. An ID for such an entity must always be unique, or it would be of no good use. And then you cannot have duplicate target values, because you would then get an ambiguity if you were to map in the other direction.
But sometimes you really need value mappings just in order to make something configurable rather than hard coded into a message mapping. This is when you run into this sort of problem. For example:
Jim -> Manager
Bob -> Employee
Sue -> Employee
The job title is NOT an ID, and certainly not unique. As you can see you cannot map backwards from "Employee" to a unique target value.
I think you might be better off using the mapping lookup API. If you don't want to go this way, you could of course do a hack, such as
Jim -> Manager_1
Bob -> Employee_1
Sue -> Employee_2
and then afterwards remove the underscore + suffix.

Java mapping can be used when you have complex mapping structures.
We can do most of the times for our requirements through Graphical mapping.
When the structures are very complex to build you can go for SAX (Simple API for XML) or DOM (Document Object Model) parsers.
Message mapping internally generates DOM parser.

ABAP mappings run on ABAP Stack and are developed in the ABAP workbench of the Integration Server.
You normally do not need to use the ABAP mappings and is preferable for someone with ABAP programming background. I should say JAVA functions would suffice any complex scenarios.

You need to provide the name of your mapping program maually , you see it is an input box.
just provide the name of abap mapping program it will work.
and one more thing you cannot test abap mapping program in integration builer you need to test in abap only.
use tcode: SXI_MAPPING_TEST for testing abap mapping

is there any update regarding Apple maps from Apple...? I live in sydney. I Know there are lots of issues with Apple maps but i reported more than 3 issues and i could see there is no resolution for those issues ?

Apple does not broadcast anything. The audio encoding options selected for content is controlled by the services the content comes from. Apple just distributes content they are provided with. I am not 100% sure but I believe the current ATV only supports 5.1 so it is pretty likely 7.1 could not be supported with out a new ATV device update, and they have not updated ATV in about four years now. Starting to wonder if they are going to. They used to own this market and now have pretty much lost it. You might check Amazon Fire. I think it might support 7.1. I finally gave up on waiting on Apple and bought one and am mostly happy with it.

Mapping Tracing in Java Section of Message Mapping

Hi,
Is it possible to get the Mapping Trace Object in the JAVA SECTION of the Message Mapping?
To access the<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c8/98e7d5c1620642973565ea3dd319d1/content.htm">Mapping Trace Object</a>, we need the instance of the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/78/b4ea10263c404599ec6edabf59aa6c/content.htm">Container Object</a>. SAP help says, Container Object is made available to every User Defined Function .
What we need is how can we get the current instance of the Container Object in the JAVA Section of Message Mapping. Any ideas?

Hi Bhavesh,
It seems you can access global container from any part of Graphical mapping.
According to Access StreamTransformation values in Java initialisation section:
<b>The mapping program is a class derived from the interface GlobalContainer. So you can use the methods of GlobalContainer all the time during the mapping program.</b>

VBScript - Logon to a MAPI Session - Run an app - Logoff a MAPI session

I've never scripted and I'm after a method/script to do the following:
1. Logon to a MAPI session using the default MAPI profile or even another profile (Without launching Outlook)
2. Run an application (10 year old application that requires a MAPI session open).
3. Logoff the MAPI session.
Using Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2003/2010 mailboxes.

Few months ago we upgraded everyone from Window XP and Office 2003 to Windows 7 and Office 2010.
We have an old 10 year plus CASE manager system, it has a feature that allows emails (from Exchange) to be viewed and attached to CASE plans alongside Word documents. With the old XP environment there was no need to launch
Outlook before launching CASE, it seemed to open a MAPI connection fine.
With the new Windows 7/Office 2010 environment we initially found that CASE would open in native mode, even established a MAPI connection without needing Outlook open, but sods law not everything worked within CASE, some
functionality broke. After some testing we found that CASE had to be launched in Windows XP Compatibility mode, this pretty much fixed everything except the issue with having to launch Outlook before the CASE application. With workstations this isn't a big
deal, by habit Outlook is launched before CASE so not a problem.
Alongside our workstation environment I also have to upgrade our Citrix environment, we use Citrix for remote sites where certain applications run dog slow (Including CASE). Current setup is Citrix PS 4.5 on Windows Server
2003, with Office 2003 and a range of applications. I've now setup a test lab with Citrix XenApp 6.5 installed on top of Windows Server 2008 R2. Also installed is Office
2010 and all necessary applications.
The issue we have on the workstations is now causing me a headache in Citrix. Generally email is accessed locally for remote offices, we do not present Outlook as a published application so we don't need/want two instances
of Outlook running on a user's desktop, I just want CASE to work as before and just establish a MAPI connection independently to Outlook.
I first thought I'd see if Outlook could be launched hidden, but it seems this can't be done so I dumped this idea. I then thought about running it minimised and have it hide, a feature in Outlook, but this seemed very
messy.
I then downloaded a simple tool from Microsoft called Simple MAPI console, it does about 10 simple MAPI functions and doesn't need Outlook open, thought it could help me work out what MAPI functions didn't work in Windows
XP Compatibility mode compared to native mode. During my testing it seemed that just simply using the logon option which I assume just establishes a MAPI connection was all I needed to get this CASE application to work properly as before, no full Outlook application.
So I thought to myself if this little tool can establish a MAPI connection I could potentially just find a script to establish a MAPI connection then fire off the CASE manager system from the click of one button via a published application.
I don't script, I'm terrible with languages period, I searched the web and couldn't find anything fruitful so thought I'd post about to find out if anyone had a script or some advice.
This afternoon I was given a lead to use something called Redemption dimastr.com/redemption/home.htm (sorry cant post links properly, not verified user)
We already had the redemption.dll registered from another application. Using the samples and information for the site above we managed to muddle up the following:

What is still stuck in my head is:
If the Simple MAPI console can do simple MAPI functions then maybe there is a way to script it.
What does Windows XP Compatibility mode do differently in regards to MAPI functions? I thought it would be the other way round, broke in native mode and work in Windows XP Compatibility mode.
The vendor have promised to look in to getting this application working, it's still supported but they of course do have newer versions at a cost, but some businesses, ours included don't have the money at the moment so have to make do with what we got.

Ovi maps v 3.06 danger zone with maps : France v 0...

On France maps version 02.43.117, speed camera location have been removed from Ovi Maps whereas it works on the previous map versions !
A new menu called "danger zone" is displayed into setting. I checked the france map but i didn't see any danger zone...
So how "danger zone" works ? How to edit the danger zone list and adding it on the map ( with the speed limit and an overspeed warning like it previously worked ) with this new feature named "danger" zone ?

I Have the same problem, I switched off location services, maps in data, whatever else maps could be involved in nd then just last nite it chewed 100mb... I'm also on vodacom so I'm seeing a pattern here somehow. Siri was switched on however so I switched it off now nd will see what happens. but I'm gonna go into both apple and vodacom this afternoon because this must be sorted out its a serious issue we have on our hands and some uproar needs to be made against those responsible!

You can still use Google’s maps — on the Web. Visit maps.google.com and accept the offer to create a Home-screen icon for you. FF4 displaying the google map in my website. But while printing google map from FF4 its not displaying the map in the print out paper.
I chekced this FF 3.6 and there is no problem with this and other versions. FF4 having this problem.
What should I do for this? Please let me know.

What printer models is this intended for? I assume it is aimed at the lower end inkjets, with the suggestion of loading 10-25 sheets of paper.

Is Maps 2 still regularly updated now that Maps 3 ...

I have an E71, (0569371, Ver 100.07.76, Rm 357), that has Maps 2. I have read on this discussion board that Nokia updates the maps data approximately 4 times per year. As maps 2 is older than maps 3, does anyone know whether Nokia still regularly updates Maps 2.? Their doing so would allow me to keep Maps 2 but stil have it current. Thanks in advance.

E71 supports Ovi Maps with free satnav so why don't you upgrade your Nokia maps to Ovi Maps?http://maps.nokia.com/services-and-apps/ovi-maps/free-downloads?intc=ncomexpserv-fw-ilc-lft-con-na-n...
