How does a single cisco router network enable outgoing calls for small businesses if no dial plan is used

For small business (up to max 450 users) we use Call Manager Express (CME) which is configured on Cisco Voice router.
If no dial plan is used or configured then none of callmanager can do external outgoing/internal calls. Dial plan is basic thing which must be configured on cisco voice router (e.g. CME).
If you have configured Phones (ephone & ephone dn) and if they are registered on callmanager express then for internal calls you dont need to configure dial plan because callmnager have all the information of its phones.
If you want to have external incoming/outgoing calls for CME then you will have to create dial peers/dial plan.

Multiple DMVPNs within separate VRF's using crypto keyring

Hi All,
I have deployed ASR's within a service provider environment acting as the DMVPN hubs for multiple customers networks contained within their own VRFs.
In each case from the tunnel perspective the iVRF and fVRF are the same for a specific customer and crypto key rings are used to associate pre-shared-keys.
When the box was first deployed a test network was built without using keyrings, but still using the VRF's as shown in the snippet. However I cannot get the configuration to work using keyrings, hence cannot add additional customers. It would appear that IKE phase 2 is not completing.
An initial bug scrub has come up clear so I'm guessing i must be missing something.

Config wise, you do not need "vrf CUST1" inside the profile, GRE will do handoff for you.

If you are trying to "extend" using wireless only, you may not be aware that Apple designed the "extend" feature as a proprietary setting to only work with other Apple routers.
It is extremely unlikely that this will work with a Cisco router.
If your plans call for connecting the AirPort Express to the Cisco router using a wired Ethernet connection, it should be possible to configure the Express that way.

Multiple S650s in single domain

I just recently purchased two S650s for my organization assuming that it could be configured like our C150s (clustered). Now that I actually hooked up the second device I found my assumption to be wrong. What is the best way to configure them for load balancing with a single domain using a single Cisco Router with transparent redirection. I already configured them both almost identically and they appear to be load-sharing the client traffic. I just wanted to verify there isn't a better way.

I have the devices configured for client-based load-balancing. Everything appears to be working. I also notice on my daily reports that the devices have a evenly distributed number of clients attached to each device. I think this load-balancing and fail-over option will meet our needs better than just a fail-over cluster configuration. Being that my organization is small, my cpu load on each device is extremely small. I was just wondering what the refresh time is as far as client connections? Will I get a daily report for each device that contains all clients or will the report look like it does now in the morning with just a split group of clients on each device?

How do I setup Airport Express to extend my CISCO router's wifi range?

I am using CISCO EA4500 router for internet connection via wifi. I have Airport Express with me, which I want to use as extender of the wifi network. I setup the Airport Express as "Extend the wireless network", provided same base station name (CISCO), network name (JKS) and passwords.
However, I am not able to get it to work. Its gives me error saying network: unknown.
I have just 1 BHK flat, and even then the range is not enough to reach from my DR to BR. I tried using Airport Express as the base station as well. But the problem is again the range.
Help me please.

Can I do it other way around? I mean setup Airport as Base station and use Cisco to extend the wireless network?
I doubt that the Cisco router would be able to to wirelessly extend the AirPort network, since Apple uses proprietary settings that are designed to work with other Apple routers.

Sorry, but I don't know whether you have the AirPort connected to the Cisco router using an Ethernet cable....or.....whether you are saying that you have the AirPort connected directly to your modem using an Ethernet cable.
If the AirPort is connected directly to your modem.....what is the make and model number of this device?
Since you know that the Cisco router is working OK when you have it connected to your modem, things would be much simpler if you connect the AirPort to the Cisco router using an Ethernet cable. Can you do this?

IDS shunning - IDS can't blocking via Cisco Router

I've configured IDS to shun with cisco router. I think all of setting fine, but IDS can't configure acl on the router via telnet.
Here is the output from ids using sh statistics networkAccess.
if you see the output, the state is Inactive.
Could you please let me know why the state is falling down inactive..

This means the sensor had a problem either connecting to or reconfiguring the router.
What to do:
Configure network access to Disable Shunning and apply the changed config.
Now configure network access to Enable Shunning again and apply the changd config.
This will cause the network access controller to disconnect from the router and try to connect again.
Check the network access statistic and see if it is still inactive.
If it is then execute "show events past 00:10:00 to see all events in the past 10 minutes. Find the status event where you applied the change to Enable Shunning again, and start looking at the later events. Search for error or status events that might show what errors the network access controller was running in to.
Typical causes: Wrong username or password. Sensor is not able to telnet to the router because either the router is not reachable from the sensor IP, or the router does not have telnet enabled, or the router's access list prevents the sensor from connecting.
Other things you can check:
Create a service account on the sensor.
Login through the service account.
From the service account try to telnet to the router using the same username and password configured in the network access controller configuration on the sensor.
And see if you can get into the router.
You might also try running a sniffer between the router and sensor and monitor the connection. You can look for any error message coming back from the router, or at least see where in the connection the sensor is stopping.

Multiple database in single server

Hi experts,
Please tell me how to configure multiple SID with single listener.
I configured the DR setup of two databases in single server. Now the problem is, if I start one listener from orapm1(CRM), my data is replicating only for CRM, and if I am going to start my listener from oraPE2 user (DBM), error is coming u201C listener is already startu201D but DBM is not replicating with DR site.
And when I stop the listener from oraPM1, and start listener from user oraPE2(DBM), my DBM is replicating properly, I want to start both in parallel with one listener.
Right now I have only one port for both database (1527) and only one LISTENER, should I need to change the port for one server e.g DBM (primary and standby), and then change in listener files. For both side (primary and standby)
If I am correct please let me know the steps, what precautions we need to take.
And what change I need to do in listener file.
2nd) Can I work on same port for both SIDs, if yes please tell me the steps.
My CRM is working properly so I need to change in DBM part.

Do you need a cisco router at remote sites when using VRF BGP?

If you could refer to the attached document and read the following... I need to know if a CISCO router is required for each of the sites. OR does the ISP (Provider) provide the only required Router in the private cloud?
We want to replace the Cisco 891 with a PepLink but I don't know if we can do that. Can anyone jump in and help me understand?
When we hear about VRF, its almost synonymous to MPLS VPN. Virtual Routing and Forwarding is commonly used by Service Providers to provide services within an MPLS cloud with multiple customers. The most interesting feature of this is that, VRF allows creation of multiple routing tables within a single router. This means that overlapping use of IP addresses from different customers is possible. Some enterprises use VRF to seggrate their services like VOIP, wireless, geographical location and other varieties.

Whether you can replace the 891 device with another device boils down to a single question: Do you need to run BGP with the Service Provider in order to use their service. If you need to run a routing protocol with your service provider, your service is likely a L3VPN (IP VPN) solution ( i.e. you inject your site's routes into the providers L3VPN session, they use MP-BGP+VRF for segmentation within their network).
If, however, they just drop you a L2 connection and provide L2 emulated services ( e.g. L2VPN or VPLS ) across their network, then your device can be whatever you want it to be.
From your device's perspective, it is not VRF aware. That is, it does not know about how the service provider segments your service from another customers. In the L3VPN case, your device is routing-protocol aware. In the L2VPN case, your device is not routing protocol aware and does not need to form adjacency with the service provider's equipment.

in that single WLS so that each user will have their own partition/environment to
play around. Once they are happy with their EJBs then we shall move them to a testing
environment. Is that possible in WLS??. Can anyone please guide me to a good documentation

looks like you are specifying http protocol in
sky.framework.ejb.SkySessionBean.getInitialContext method.
Change it to t3 or, if the JNDI lookup is in the same JVM, don't specify
PROVIDER_URL. If you have to use http tunneling due to any reason , you have to
enable HTTP Tunneling in server to which initial context is created. It is
disabled by default in 60. You can do so via console. Please refer to
documentation , let me know if you need additional help.

NT isn't a multiuser environment. I will assume that
you mean some
Win32 box sitting in a room where people can copy their
classes/EJBs and
test their stuff. If this is the case, the setup is easy.
Create a directory and startup script for every developer.
Have a
global properties file in the same directory as the scripts
so that
common settings are, well, common. Tell each user to
modify the various
parts of the properties files in their directories to
deploy EJBs and
register servlets, etc etc.
In each startup script, you will have to specify the server
directory
and the binding port for each person. Pick a port (something
easy to
remember and high, like 30000, 30001, etc etc) for each
person. Why?
Well, when they connect to the app server, they'll know
they're hitting
only their server. Also, TCP/IP won't let more than one
JVM bind to the
same port, so if you want simultaneous instances (> 4
you better have
one kick ass Win32 box) you have to do this.

there doesn't seem to be a way of configuring multiple web sites within a single OC4J instance using the 10g Enterprise Manager Website, so can i assume that there's some performance related issues with doing this, or is it just a case of if you want multiple web sites, configure it manually?
We currently use 9iAS release 1 (which has been configured to use multiple web sites - with normally 1 j2ee app in each website - in a single OC4J clustered instance, using mod_proxy to forward the http requests onto oc4j), but we are looking to migrate to 10g very soon...
The initial configuration was done by an external company, so i'm not entirely sure of the reasons why it was chosen (perhaps so that if there was a problem with a single website, it wouldn't impact all our applications)..
Does anybody else currently use multiple *-web-site.xml's in a 9iAS release 2 or 10g in a production environment, and if so did you encounter any problems with the OEM website (assuming you configured them manually)?

Something like this:
New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName "FBA"
Enable the Basic authentication via running the following command:
Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "yourservername\owa (FBA)" -BasicAuthentication $true
Restart the IIS admin service in services.msc
