Configuring Plant Driven Procurement in SRM 5.0

Dear All,
In our company we have implemented SRM 5.0 Classic Scenario. We are using SRM system for ordering consumable materials through external and internal catalogs. All other materials as raw materials, marketing materials and spare parts are procured in R/3 system.
There is a new business requirement to use SRM system for ordering spare parts through catalogues. Currently, spare parts are planed in MRP in SAP R/3 system, where purchase requisition is generated and after that a purchase order is created manually in the procurement department.
I have investigated how the process can be reproduced in SRM system, but still there are some open questions. Hope, somebody of you can give me some answers.
Generally the process will look like this:
1.     The purchase requisitions created in MRP will be transferred as external requirements to SRM Sourcing application.
2.     In Sourcing Application purchaser is enabled to use different sourcing functions- to create or assign contract for these requirements, bid invitations or directly to create purchase orders in SRM or in the backend SAP system. Our customer will use it only for creating orders though selecting items from catalogs.
My first question is: Is it possible, for these external requirements, to select the items from existing catalog and to create purchase order in the backend system? And if yes, in which SRM version this could be achieved? I read somewhere, may be in this forum, that items from the external requirements can be substituted by catalog items but only in SRM 6.0 version?
It is also not very clear for me whether I have to activate extended classic scenario in order to configure Plant Driven Procurement.
Thank you in advance,
Best Regards,
Desislava

Hi,
Your suggestion is appropriate for my situation, but still there are some open questions for me:
It is not a problem to maintain internal catalogues for the spare parts and when needed users will create shopping carts manually by selecting parts from the catalogue and PO will be created in SAP backend system as it is for the consumables- that part of the process is clear. But the main question is how we can use this catalogue when spare parts are planed through MRP run, because most of the spare parts in the company  are planed in MRP?
In this case,  the MRP purchase requisition have to  be transferred to SRM sourcing application and from there to replace somehow the items by catalogue items. Is this scenario possible for SRM server 5.5 clasic scenario- I think no?
Anyway thank you for your answer, I will think for a workaround.
Regards,
Desislava
Hi.
Please continue with classic scenario for consumbale material
You can do one thing for the spare parts .Please consolidate the total requirement of spares requirement for 2 to 3 years
prepare a master list with vendor and price (frequently procured)
Publish this in a separate catalgue so that you can use SRM for Spare Parts.
In the mean time which materials is not there in the Catalogue procure manullay thoro 'PR in SAP and you can consolidate next
year and totally you can procure both consumables and Spare Parts

1.we downloaded XI Content for SRM Server 5.5 SP 12.But we are unable

    in SAP XI 7.0 SLD.
Please, Suggest the solution to solve this problem.

    Hi Prateek,
I am doing Plant driven procurement service enablement scenario by using XI 7.0, for this,
we are integrating MM & SRM SUS Through XI 7.0 (MM -- XI-- SRM SUS).
    For doing this Scenario,
    1. Downloaded XI Content for SRM
    2. Imported  XI Content into the IR
3.After importing, Plan_Driven_Procurement_SupplierEnablement Scenario was enabled.
Here, MM side SWCV is R/3 4.6 is available by default. but in my case i need to change to ECC 6.0(bcoz,currently we r using ECC 6.0 version )
In SLD, there is no ECC 6.0 version.
So, how to solve this issue.

  • Plan Driven Procurement in SRM 7.0

    Hi SRM Friends,
I heard that in SRM 7.0 Plan Driven Procurement, leading PO is always created in Backend system.(Which means It is not supported by Extended classic). I am not sure if this is correct or not.
Please let me know if this is true as per standard out of Box functionality.
    Thanks
    Venkat

    Hello Venkat,
PDP is supported with both the scenarios as mentioned by Masa.
    Some key points to consider:
    1. Classic scenario: Inventory/ Account assignmnet as Blank, PR if transferred to SRM result in local PO (Direct material purchase behaviour)
    2. Extended classic scenario: PO in SRM does not support the service hierachy.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Plant driven procurement

    HI SRM Gurus,
We are on SRM5.0 and facing a typical problem in the Sourcing **** pit.
Requirement generated from work order   in R/3 was transferred to SRM sourcing cockpit correctly and  service POs with service lines were created.
The user deleted the SRM POs since some   changes were required in the work order and made the required changes to the work order.
The sourcing **** pit did not show this requirement again.
Can any one suggest in case any solution is available.
    Also some work around.
    Thanks in advance
    Jacquline

    Hi Jacquline,
There is no need for any program.
Whenever you make changes to Plant Maintenance P.R in R/3 it will again populate in the EPRTRANS table in back end when the V_T160PR and V_T160EX tables were properly maintained.
Once you run the BBP_EXTREQ_TRANSFER report using SA38 transaction the P.R will be sent to SRM and will be visible in the sourcing cockpit.
You can create a new P.O in SRM using that requirement.
    Further clarifications are always welcome.
    Assign points for suitable answers.

    Hi Nagi,
This is related to Parner determination process with both systems in CRM & ECC.
Error Details:  "Partner Function" in CRM is not there in ECC.
We mapped in ECC by creating a ZB copied from "SB" Partner function in ECC & reprocessed the order in CRM, Henceforth rectififed the error.

  • Self service procurement and plan driven procurement in classic scenario

    hai friends,
i have configured self service procurement and now i am configuring plan driven procurement in classic scenario.my doubt is suppose  a shopping cart is created and placed in a sourcing application of the professional buyer. And assume he accomplished sourcing activity and created purchase order .Now purchase order is created locally or in the backed.i am using classic scenario ,now can u tell where the purchase order is located? if i want to place that particular purchase order in SRM  it self what will i do? thanks in advance.

    Hi Chandra
before going to select Business scenario (self service, plan driven..etc), you must freeze the technical scenario. Depends upon your technical scenario, your PO will be created .
Where PO is created it is called leading system. It is SAP standard.
If you were selected  Classic- Po created in R/3.- R/3 is a leading system .
if you were select ECS- > PO will created in SRM and Copy also will be created in R/3 system. In EBP only you can edit the PO not in r/3. here SRM is a Leading system.

    Hi Arvind,
From Xi to SRM, by the looks of it, you are calling a BAPI. Can you specify how is your scenario configured ?
If it is a BAPI, can you also try to test it(on the SRM box itself) from the Function Module test tool?
Pls let us know the results/details.

  • SRM 7 PPS Classic Scenario with Plan Driven Procurement?

Hello experts,  I want to know if the combination of  SRM 7 PPS Classic Scenario with Plan Driven Procurement is possible? or if there any limitation to consider? Our client needs to create purchase requisition in ERP -> send this purchase requisitions to SRM (as shopping carts) create bids - > quotations  - > create contract from accepted quotations and then from the contract we need to create purchase order but this one must be created in ERP (classic scenario) Someone has experimented the same situation? Best regards and thanks for your Help.
    Liam

    Hi Lima ,
Classic scenario wont support PPS .
            - Stand alone and classic scenario not supported
            - Shopping cart renamed to Purchase Requisition
            - Shopping cart generate (pre)commitment in funds management
            - Contract can create Funds Reservation (Earmarked Funds) in Funds Management as a Guarantee
            - Goods Receipt and Invoice created in ERP
            - Mixed PO: PO with lines that works like contract lines, a PO can be created from these lines
            - PO created from contracts or mixed-PO is named call-off PO. Only is a new name, is a "normal" SRM      PO
            - Goods receipt possible in SRM only in "easy" cases
    Thanks & Regards

  • Configuration of Service procurement for Extend Classic

    Hi SRM Gurus,
Can anyone send me the configuration documents for configuration of service procurement for extend classic scenario.
I have referred to SRM Enterprise Buyer 5.0 Configuration (SRM 210) and SAP Library. But both of these doesn't talk about the configuration steps involved in that.
Any documents, leads and help would be highly appreciated. My email id is [email protected]

    Hi,
In plant Y, you have to maintain Spl.procurement key in material master. In MRP 2 view assign External procurement & spl.procurement kery 40.
In the plant X, create material master as inhouse production in MRP 2 view.
Have to maintain BOM & Routing in plant X.
    Configure in SPRO> MRP> Planning> Define spl.procurement key.
In this assign Issue plant as X.
Run MRP for plant Y. System create Stock transport req in plant Y.
Convert this req into stock transport order.
In plant X, dependent req will create.
Use MB1B mvt type 301for single level stock transport.
For multi level stock transport use MB1B 303 - issue & 305 -receive mvt.

  • I canu00B4t see de PR in the EPRTRANS Table in the scenario Plan Driven Procur

    Hi,
We want to transfer PR from R/3 to SRM. We have customize the Plan driven Procurement, but we can´t see them in the EPRTRANS table. The Release Strategy has been completed in the PR.
    Releases:
    R/3 6.0,  SRM  5.5
    Any help please?

    Hi John,
The second option works in SRM.
Direct procurement in classic scenario works as if the system were extended classic. Thus your PO will be created in SRM and a copy of it will be replicated to ECC.

  • How to use the direct material indicator in Plan Driven Procurement?

    Dear Experts,
How the system determine the procurement as direct material procurement in Plan driven scenario? In case of manual shopping cart, the system determines the direct material /indirect material procurement based on the check box 'Order as direct material'
    indicator.
Now in case of plan driven procurement, where the requisition comes from ECC system, there is no way to indicate in the MM system for direct material?
Could you please enlighten me here?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi Ranjan,
In case of manual shopping cart, system at that point does not know whether the material procured has inventory management maintained or material valuation. Hence we need to specify option of 'Order as direct material'.
But when requisition is created in ECC system, SAP system already is aware of direct procurement since material used will have material master / Inventory management / Material valuation / Storage location etc maintained. And the info or some indicator will be sent to front end SRM system accordingly.
Moreover it does not really matter for front-end SRM system to check whether it's a direct or indirect procurement since all procurement processes followed in SRM will be exactly same.
Hope this provides some kind of understanding for your questions.

  • Plant replication issue in SRM

    Hi Experts,
We  replicated around 70 plants from ECC to SRM.Each plant coressponds to unique company code only.
The only similarity in all the plants is the adress details.
After replication, faced the red error for about 5 plants out of the 70 stating "Location Already Exists, Partner: 00100025XX Plant: 1090 System: DE1XXXXXXX The Plant is a Duplicate in the same System Plant: 36XX".
I maintained the Search term field in the adress details of those 5 plants and then replicated them from ECC to SRM.Those 5 plants got replicated succesfully. This was in Development environment.
In quality system when i try to replicate the plants,am facing the same red error for 50 out of the 70 plants.
I have checked in table BBP_LOCMAP and i find no entries related to plants which are said to be duplicate.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance
    Supriya

    Hello,
Please find all of the information on plant replication and maintenance
    below.
    Firstly, see the note:
    563180 Locations - Replication of R/3 plants
    1. BBP_LOCATIONS_GET_ALL should be run once in your system.
This cannot be scheduled as a report.
    2. For further replication of plants, please use
    BBP_LOCATIONS_GET_SELECTED.
    3. The reason for the error BBP_LOCATION004 is due to duplicate
address data for plants. The system will check all address fields and
look for duplicates, if any are found the system will issue this
message and the plant will not be replicated.
    4. Once replicated plant address data etc should be maintained using
the browser transaction 'Manage Business Partners' BBPMAININT.
Please set this transaction up as a browser transaction
    for the SRM admin user.
    5. Plants can also be created in SRM using this transaction BBPMAININT.
The can be assigned to R/3 plants.
    See note 563108:
"You can also create individual locations via the Web transaction
'Managing Business Partners' and assign them to an R/3 plant."
Hope this information clarifies your issue.
    Kind Regards,
    Edel.

    Hi,
for 2) direct material works like an ext. classic scenario. However it is not exactly the same since ECS could have accounting assignment where direct material excluded that.
for 3) Local purchasing grp is mandatory for direct material and ECS scenario. Other than that, it is not required. The user can exists anywhere in the org structure as long as a responsible P.Org and Grp have been assigned for that user.
    Regards.
