Configuring SAP BI server in Lumira Preferences to support SSL

Hello all ,
We are currently on SAP BI 4.1 SP 5 FP 3 and we have installed the latest version of SAP Lumira  .
We have also implimented SSL for secured login to BI launch pad ,CMC -etc .
Is it possible to configure the SAP BI server URL in Lumira preferences to supports https based URL ?
The default URL looks like - http://<server name>:6405/biprws
If possible then please assist me to identify where and what I need to configure . We are currently on Windows environment .
regards,
Sourav Roy

Have a look at this, although it talks about Team Server, it will be applicable to the BI system.
Note that without the BI add-on, you will only be able to use the platform for viewing, just file storage.

  • Configure SAP for server-side trust

    Hi all,
I am installing BusinessObejcts XI integration for SAP Solution. I need configure SAP for server-side trust. I have read BussinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solution Installation Guide. In chapter 6, It introduce how to configure SAP Server-Side trust. But I don't understand how to configure SAP for server-side trust, specially configure SAP Cryptographic. Would you please to give me more detailed explanation?
    Please advise,
    Duypm

    Hi Duypm,
the SAP server side configuration is part of the Installation Guide Chapter 6. It starts on Page 94.
If you unclear about this and what SNC configuration means for the SAP server make sure you talk to the administrator for the SAP system. You need administrative rights for the SAP system and the system will have to be restarted as outlined in the installation guide

  • SAP Content Server can be installed and supported on a Virtual Machine

    Hi,
I would like to know if the SAP Content Server can be installed and supported on a Virtual Machine.
Are there any sap notes to support this.
    Regards,

    SAP support VMWARE
    MAXDB support VMWARE.
    you are free to go.
I would ask this question in the SAP on VMWARE group at Virtualization on Windows

  • Problem configuring SAP AS server in NWDS 7.1 SP03

    Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble in configuring SAP AS in Developer Studio 7.1 SP03.
In SP01 I have no problem, but in SP03 an error shows up, which says that the host and instance number are not available. In SP01 there's a field for the port, but in SP03 theres only fields for host and instance number.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
    Cheers

    Hi Atul,
    Thank you  for your answer.
I have tried this and a message error comes saying that server is not reachable.
However, if I configure SP01 with the same server, it shows no error and I can see the server is up and
running. Is there a special configuration for SP03? Im I missing something, weather on the server side or
    on de Dev Studio side?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers.

  • SAP Content Server configuration CSADMIN username password

    Hi all.
I am having problems when I try to configure SAP Content Server 6.40 after installation. When I try to run csadmin to set up the content repository, I constantly get this login prompt. I have tried using the default SAPR3 user and password, but I only get access denied. The SAPR3 user exists on my MaxDB 7.6. I have also tried setting AdminSecurity=0 in the ContentServer.ini file, and the login prompt is still displayed.
Does anyone have any idea on what username and password I should use, so that I can try to complete the Content Server config? Also, if you know of any decent guidelines for the content repository configuration, I'd be happy if you provide me with some documentation..
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Thomas

  • View contents of SAP Content Server

    Hi all,
We have successfully installed and configured SAP Content Server - the storage system is database. From a separate test system, we use archivelink to send an image to the content server. As per the logs, the image was successfully sent to the content server. Is there any method we can use to check whether the image is indeed stored on the content server? We use Database Studio to do administration on the MaxDB database of the content server but it does not provide any facility for viewing the contents. Please suggest how can the image or any other data be viewed.
    regards.

    Hi Gagan,
Thanks for your reply. Your suggestion will indeed confirm whether the image is present on the content server or not. However, I want to know whether there's some way we can 'see' the image on the content server. I downloaded another tool called SQL Studio. There you can browse the tables/indexes/synonyms, run queries etc but I'm not able to know which are the relevant tables I need to look into. There should be a table that must be keeping the image or at least a record concerning the image.
    Any other suggestion.....
    regards

  • SHarepoint as SAP Content Server Configuration

Actually this message is for Espen Leknes because I have read something from him i another message but if you guys know about this, all will be wellcome !!!!!!!
This is Andrea, Basis COnsultant. I am writing to you because I was reading lot of messages in SAP SDN regarding DMS and SAP Content Server.
I saw you have participated in lot of messages. I am specially interested in one of them which is about Sharepoint.
The customer I am working in would like to use Sharepoint as global Content Server and I would like to configure Sharepoint as SAP Content Server in order to save documents and attach them to sap objects (scanned invoices, manuals, cad drawings, etc)
I know it is not possible since Sharepoint is not SAP certified and http inteface from SAP (archivelink) does not work with this product.
I have read about Inet.DM and thinks like this.
I read you have configured SHarepoint as WebDav. In some post you have written:
    Hi guys,
There is a third way, where you end up using Sharepoint as your content server
    1. COnfigure a content server to use file storage
    2. COnfigure the file area for webdav
    3. The webdav is the sharepoint webdav
Voila, you are using sharepoint as your content server.
Why the heck you would do that is beyond me, but it works.
    Ok, the question is:
I am using ECC60 and I dont have file storage option.
Is is possible to explain this again or sent me screenshots os OAC0 ?? It would be very useful.
Thanks so much in advance for this.
    Andrea

I could find few of the links . Hope these are useful.

  • Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working...  As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop...  Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Yüksel
Thank you for the reply It helped me to configure but i struck in some place.. Dispatcher is getting stopped... I tried to add 3 different sap servers in sapmmc and tried to start.. Three are getting same errors(Guess same error)
After your suggestion i was able to configure and start SIDadm of host but immediately or after 30sec Dispatcher gets stopped tried to find out some solutions but didnt worked... But i was able to start from there servers manually in linux way startsap, but not in SAPMMC way...
Could you or please help me in solving trace given below...

  • RAR: Configuration parameter "Report directory on the SAP ERP Server"

    Hi,
Under a scenario with a standalone SAP GRC AC 5.3 installation and connected with several R/3 system through JCO destinations.
Which SAP ERP Server Directory do we have to specify?
Many thanks in advance. Best regards,
      Imanol

    Sunny,
I did not mean the Spool File Directory.
I mean the parameter "SAP Server Application Location". The parameter above FTP Location.
Under the configuration guide it is said for this parameter that:
"The report directory on the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application servers. This is the temporary storage location for security reports generated by background jobs. Virtual directories delivered in the ERP system, such as DIR_HOME and DIR_TMP, are supported. These directories are viewed with SAP ERP transaction, AL11. The same directory name is used for all SAP back-end systems."
    Thanks in advance. Best regards,
      Imanol

  • How to configure sap to use gmail as smtp server?

    Hi experts,
I need to know how to configure gmail as my smtp server. In the scot transaction I don't see anywhere where to specify whether it is a ssh connection, ports for secure smtp, username, password.
Does anyone know how to configure sap to use gmail as the smtp server?
I've seen some similar threads about this, but they are of no help. Although they are classified as answered, in most cases the reason they are answered is because the person who made the query dropped the cause trying to make it work. I'd like to know for sure is this is possible or not.

    Hi Camilo,
You can't set up gmail as your smtp server to handle this. gmail is an email server which generally are based on POP protocol. now for SAP to send mail to gmail, you would need one SMTP capable server which can relay those message received from SAP to configured email address.
As of WAS 6.10 SAP kernel supports SMTP without more components. i.e e-mails can be sent (or received) from the SAP system to each SMTP-compatible mail server. see SAP note 455140 for more details.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.

  • BO 4.0: Database error:Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon

    Hello Experts,
I have enabled a 'SSO to database' between SAP BW and Business objects by referencing to the documents related to below link.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/HowtosetupSSOagainstSAPBWinSBOBI4.0forLDAPusers
I have created a universe connection with option 'use single sign on when refreshing reports at view time' and have created a universe on top of my BEx query by log-in to the universe designer tools using my LDAP account.
Now when I run the report with either SAP account or LDAP - I am able to run a adhoc webi report on this universe and get data either through the webi rich client or via BO 4.0 Info-view/Launch Pad.
But the issue is that when other users are trying to run webi queries on this universe either through Info-view/launch pad or rich client by log-in via LDAP Authentication - they get the below error: I have given SAP_ALL to this user for time being and also have done the necessary configuration for 'simple user format' in CMC so these user has 1 account with 3 alias definitions: Enterprise, SAP, R/3.
Database error: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data -
If the user logs on into the BO 4.0 Info-view/launch pad or webi rich client using his SAP authentication than he is able to run and retrieve data.
I also get a dump in the SAP BW system - I analyzed the dump in SAP BW using st22 tcode and it gives the error short text as - Incomplete logon data and run-time error - CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL
    Desired outcome:
I want the users to log-in to webi rich client or BO 4.0 Launch pad/Info-view using their 'LDAP' authentication and run reports against the universe on SAP BW/BEx query without any errors or additional username/password requirements.
Can someone please tell me if I am missing any steps/configuration and guide me to achieve the above mentioned desired result ?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & regards,
    CD.

    Whether your problem is solved?
We have the same problem in BO Mobile.
Two users from one BW-role, BO-groups; one user report is executed, another user - error incomplete logon data. In Web Intelligence both users reports succeeds.

for the above error i need to configure the trex name server using  TREX Configuration in the J2EE Engine  in j2ee visual administrator .
can any one tell me the clear path that where to configure the above and where j2ee visual administrator installed how to configure the name server
    awaiting for replies
    regards
    ganesh

    Hi Ganesh,
In order to access the Visual Administrator, go to Start > Programs > SAP J2EE Engine > Visual Administrator. After you login, you will see 2 nodes i.e. Dispatcher and Server. Expand the Server node. Then go to "Services" and expand it. Then go all the way down to "TREX Service". Then on the right hand side, go to the property "nameserver.address" where you will key in "tcpip://<nameserver>:<port>". Then hit "Update" and click on the "Save" button. Then when you go to TRex Monitor, you should be able to see the Name Server running. Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sri

  • How to configure a proxy server for Windows Azure Tools in Visual Studio 2013

    Hi Visual Studio/Azure Tools team
I would like to use the Windows Azure tools in Visual Studio 2013 to manage my Azure Web sites (Server Explorer -> Windows Azure -> Web Sites) from within my corporate network which is secured using a proxy server. Unfortunately, I am not able to use
the Windows Azure tools since the required HTTPS connection to windows azure is not going through the default configured proxy. Instead, Visual Studio tries directly to connect to port 443 which is blocked by our corporate firewall (and yes: there is no way
around using our proxy server). Other visual studio features like NuGet, updates, etc. work fine and use the configured proxy server.
So my question: How can I configure visual studio respective its Azure tools to use a proxy server instead of a direct connection? I already tried configuring the proxy server within the file devenv.exe.config but this doesn't show any effect for Windows Azure
    tools.
    Regards
    tschaena

As we have very similar problems I consider the found solution a work arround an existing problem which will not work if corporate FW policy does not allow such changes.
In my mind, any tools in charge of dealing with some sort of FW protocols should deliver the following information, should make it absolute clear how to setup that the request packages are setup rigth at the first time.
    a) proxy server
    b) proxy port
    c) proxy user
    d) proxy users-password
    e) proxy.auth.Preference="BASIC"
And for moste tools (including Visual Studio and AZUR Tools) it is absolut unclear
    a) how to setup that on a per tools basis
    b) OR who inherits this information from whom    i.e. use the same as IE does, what if we use FireFox or any other browsers?
I understand that developers requested to cure such problem areas will often have difficulty to gain all required elemenst used to realy test the solution.
But I can tell you: I loos more time figthing down the FW setups for my clients. WHat I do at home in a sniff, takes ages to be realised by all the various clients on the market where each has to deliver the same sort of information but actually does not,
or has it just somewhere, but not in the vicinity of the demanding user.
Good examples i.e. NetBeans IDE where the Option Menu shows very clearly what information is required to pass through a FW/Proxy; but even there, the hint to start with a BASIC authentication schema is not part of this OPTION menu and must be added a JAVA
environment value. But at least, it works.
