Configuring System Landscape in EP6 SP2

Please suggest a "definitive resource" for configuring our system landscape between EP6.0 SP2 and our R/3 systems, complimenting what we had configured in EP5.0 via the jcodestination.xml and systems.xml.
thank you!

Hi Jeff,
this is for NW04 portal, but  most of it should be valid for EP6SP2 as well..

    Hi

The user J2EE_ADMIN can logon to via the gui to client 001 without errors.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
Seems this is a typical problem with SAP J2EE /AddIn Installations (I had this often!!). The user is created in the J2EE user store but because his password is initial, the J2EE engine would not let him in. As I remember the installation tries to log on with user SLDDSUSER (or so, something with SLD...), so log on on to the J2EE Engine with this user (e.g http://<hostname>:<port>/useradmin) and you will be prompted to that your password is initial (also do this with user J2EE_ADMIN, always good idea to see that J2EE Engine works correctly). In most cases the configuration of the SLD will continue.
If this doesn't work, cancel the installation and configure the SLD manually (is no problem, because at that point of the installation procedure, the system is fully installed, except the SLD configuration).
    Hopes this helps.

    Daniel

  • System Landscape in EP6.0 SP9 (Urgent ..)

    Hi,
We have installed EP6.0 SP9 on Win 2003 and Oracle.
After instalaltion I Created the System Landscape for R/3 Server. I maintained the Connector Properties,User Management Properties. Then i tested by creating the Transaction Iview after maintaining the USer Mapping Details. The Preview is working if i select the WINGUI.
Then i Tried to Test the Connections by Rightclick on the System Landscape Name. in that I tried to test the Connector Testing Option.
But the Test is getting failed by stating that the User Mapping and Connector Settings are wrong please check.
But when i see the preview of the Transaction it is working.
Secondly, I wanted to confirm about the SSO.
For SSO, and WEBGUI, I hope we require the ITS Instance in the Enterprise Portal. Is this Right?
In R/3 our Kernel Release is 6.40 and SAP_BASIS Release is 6.20 R/4 version 4.7
    Here do i need WP_PI 6.0.620 Plugins or PI_BASIS_640?
As per the Note 655941 it says WP-PI is no longer delivered as of ABAP BASIS version 6.40. ( Here we are bit confused )
    Please Help us..
    Thanks & Regards
    Sumanth

    Hi Sumanth,
About SSO - There are different ways to enable single sign-on, user-mapping in portals is one of them and SAP Logon tickets is another. For each of these methods, refer portal security guide (service.sap.com/security). ITS or WEBGUI has got nothing to do with SSO in a direct manner.
About WEBGUI - You require ITS if you are going to use WEBGUI and since your R/3 kernel is 6.40 you have the option of using integrated ITS which has the option of webgui. Follow the link below for documentation for the same.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/54/4d9993c6592941a407313a6763575c/frameset.htm
ITS instance will never be on the portals, you will either have to use the integrated ITS or the separate standalone installation of ITS 6.20. Either way, while creating iViews for connecting to ITS system, make sure you use the GUI for HTML option.
About the SAP note - A portal plug-in is required if you want to enable SSO using Logon tickets, and your R/3 version is 4.6C or less. In your case portal plug-in is not required. Refer portal security guide for more details.
About your error - you have not mentioned the exact error message, but I guess, it is something about your user mapping.

    Aniket

  • I am not getting the Portal Content inside the System Landscape

    Hi,
I am not getting the Portal Content inside the System Administrations-> System Configuration->System Landscape. This is not visible. I am SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
What could be the possible reasons?
    Regards
    Kaushik Banerjee

    Kaushik,
do you have the full tree in Contentadmin? do you have no entry in the systemadmin? or is it just empty in the lower nodes? this would be normal, you don't see the content in systemadmin, just the defined systems.

  • EP6 SP2 Jco / System Alias Question

    Hi all,
I'm developing a number of Iviews on an EP6 SP2 system connected to a 4.6C box.  I have two problems that I'd be grateful for some help with.
    1) How do I make use of the System Aliases set up in the portal via Jco ?
I know I can use the direct connection
    JCO.createClient("001", // SAP client
              "<userid>", // userid
              "****", // password
                 "EN", // language
                    "<hostname>", //
              "00"); // system number
but it would be much easier if I could use the configured System Alias called "UKSAP" which has been set-up in each Portal box.
    2) I believe that EP6 SP2 will not require connection pooling in the jco code. Is this correct ?
    Cheers
    Richard

    Hi,
We are trying to do pretty much the same thing you are, I am trying to get my Java iview to use the System Alias to connect to an R/3 JCO destination.
Could you elaborate on your findings in this regard. I am currently getting the following error : "Target for system alias SAP_R3_HumanResources not found in system landscape"
I have entered the connection info for this target into the jcoDestinations.xml and I've created a system in the portal with the alias SAP_R3_HumanResources...
    Thanks in advance,

  • How to configure TMS landscape using three clients of same system?

    Hi All,
I have to design a prototype for linking satellite systems to Solution Manager. To work on the Change Request Management module of Solution Manager.
Here, I need a Development - Quality - Production landscape to be configured to link it to Solution Manager, but I have only one system available to do this.
I have the clients 410, 420 and 430 in the system XYZ. Now, how do I simulate the three system landscape in STMS for the three clients mentioned above.
I tried using many attempts, but it is not working out. I could figure it out that this is possible by activating "extended transport control" parameter for each system, in STMS.
Also, there are some specific needs to configure this landscape for linking to Solution Manager, the comments are shown below:
"Transports are supported in the standard transport layer of each client. When you configure transport routes, note that only consolidation routes that are assigned to the standard transport layer of the relevant exporting client are taken into consideration. For each exporting client, exactly one target client and one target group are permitted.
We recommend that you assign exactly one development system to a production system, and that these two systems are connected by exactly one unique transport track.
If a development system and a production system are connected by more than one transport track, this may lead to inconsistencies within the transport distribution.
This type of transport configuration cannot be supported by Change Request Management, and may cause inconsistencies within the tools involved."
Please suggest me, as how to proceed to configure STMS for the same.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Visualizing SAP XI routing configuration across the system landscape

    Hi Experts
Iam facing some challenges in visualizing SAP XI routing configuration across the system landscape (Development, Quality, Production). Basically routing is based on a field (technical target system). Depending on the environment we have different target systems (different Mainframe DB that represent the same target system) configured.
Any word/excel/ppt/pdf templates or any comments that could help visualizing routing would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks! Santosh

    Hi Santhosh,
If you are worrieed about how your Business Systems will change when you move from Dev to QA to PROD for the Configuration in your ID, then the answer is simple.
You can create transport target for your Business System and so when you migrate the ID objects from dev to Qa and so on, the business Systems will be automatically replaced.
Take a look at this blog,

  • Charm configuration for a 4 system landscape

    Hi Experts,
We are planning to implement charm for a 4 system landscape: Development Server, Integration Server, Quality Server and Production Server.
We could configure TMS related steps, activated Charm in Solution Manager, created a maintenance project in solar_project_admin.
However, the standard delivered transaction types like Normal correction and Urgent Correction are not working in a 4 system landscape.  They are only working for 3 systems (DEV, QAS and PRD).
Are there any documents or blogs that would specially explain all the steps required for 4 systems? Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ravali

    Development --> Integration --> Quality --> Production.
First, I will import the transport of copies into integration
Yes, and you test the changes here.
Second, the whole transport is released and imported to Integration - in the Test phase of the maintenance cycle and NC status being consolidated.
Third - Now, keeping the maintenance cycle in the TEST phase and NC phase in consolidated, will I be able to schedule the transport into quality server?
Nope. You consolidate your normal correction, which releases your original transport and import them into Integration, and then immediately into Quality (you already proved it worked in Integration) BEFORE you set the phase to Test. Otherwise the original transports are NOT released. And if you set your phase to Test before importing the originals, you'll get a message that you cannot import transports into Quality during this phase.
If you need to get transports into Quality for break fixes during the Test phase you need to use a Test Message and these are imported during Go-live as well.
Fourth - if the above process works, I will then change the MC to Go Live and schedule the import to Production.
With the corrected process mentioned above, yes, you will then change the phase to Go-live and it will import everything that was brought into Quality.
    Hope this helps.

  • System Landscape for ESS/MSS in EP60 SP2

I have installed EP60 SP2 on J2EE 6.20 and MSSQL. I have imported business packages ESS 50-4 and MSS 60-1-5. I have created the folder Systems in Portal Content and created a system SAP_R3 with aliases SAP_R3_HumanResources, SAP_R3_Cross, SAP_R3_Travel, and SAP_R3_Financials.
My 4.7 R/3 system is app server R3DEV02.domain.com, system id DEV, sysno 01, client 100.  My ITS server is http://itsdev01.domain.com:71/scripts/wgate/webgui/! using client 100.  My EP path is http://sapport01.domain.com:50000/irj/.
Given this information, can anyone tell me exactly what parameters I must set in the system landscape for system SAP_R3 and what the values should be for ESS and MSS to work properly?  If I go to the System Landscape Cockpit, system SAP_R3 fails all tests.
Any and all help is certainly appreciated.

    Hello Gary,
WRT SAP_R3 system landscape test failure, I ran into the same issue earlier, for a SAP_R3_Dedicated system. Keep the same setting values, but leave the system id (DEV) Blank, then test.
Your definition of (Application Server Host Address + System Number) should be sufficient for a SAP_R3_Dedicated connection.
I hope this will resolve your system TEST problem.

    AAAttar
