Configuring the Network interface settings in E250

Hi All ,
I have installed a Solaris 9 in E250. We are not able to bring that in network.
We are able to ping the local ip address and not able to reach the gateway address.
I checked the NIC settings, the link_mode is half duplex and link_status is 0 and link_speed is 10 mbps.
and also i have checked the port status in Layer 3 Switch, the port is half duplex and speed 10 mbps.
Please advice how to resove this is issue. Your reply is highly appreciable.
Regards.
R. Rajesh Kannan.

Try setting ur layer 3 switch port settings to 100FD and autonegotiate.

  • CRS-5008: Invalid attribute value: ce0 for the network interface

    Hi all,
we try to install grid infrastructure 11GR2 (11.2.0.1) into Solaris Zone with shared network interface.
We also modified scirpt racgvip, so it will be able to login (via ssh with key authorization) to the global zone and add or remove interface on zone. Script itself works fine.
But it seems that orarootagent some how checks the interface, and returned error.
In the log of the orarootagent I can see error:

Does anybody know how the orarootagent checks for the network resource?
It seems that there are some procedures (NetworkAgent::checkLink, NetInterface::sGetIpAddress) inside it. But the problem is that this file is binary.
Or may be there are some ways to track how orarootagent checks?

Is there anything I can do with it? Will appreciate any help!Is ce0 a valid interface on the machine? (has the global zone done "ifconfig ce0 plumb"?)
Is the zone correctly configured (check output of the export sub-command of zonecfg)?

I had similar errors when first setting up the SQL interface. Are you on a 64 bit operating system on the essbase server? If so Essbase needs to use the 32 bit odbc driver, not the default 64 bit driver.
The 32 bit driver is still available here SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe <-----This is the 32 bit (Use)
The Administrative tools by default uses system32\odbcad32.exe <----This is the 64 bit (Don't Use)
Once I opened the 32 bit driver interface directly and set it up the errors went away.

  • An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge

Windows XP Pro SP2, a new TP61 6460 6WG, all Win updates, all Lenovo updates.
Everything works fine except... when I'm trying to create a network bridge I always get the following: An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge.
This is not the situation described in Microsoft's Knowledge Base KB309640 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309640/en-us). I have no ICS, no ICF.
    Any ideas?

I had the same problem and was really frustrated. I was about to pull my hairs out but then i was finally able to solve it. The solution is deleting some files of WMI repository. The complete details can be found on my blog http://cheatppc.blogspot.com/2008/07/unexpected-error-has-occured-while.html
    Hope this solves the problem.

  • How  to configure the network on Sun Solaris 8

The Sun workstation is a license server, and Window NT workstation need to access the license file that located in the sun workstation.
Now the Window NT workstation cannot connect with the sun solaris, and I guess that I need to configure the network on Sun Solaris 8.
Could you please tell me how to do that step by step?
If there is the system tool like the window system to configure the network easily and quickly.
    I appreciate it.
    Mark

If your sun system is working then probably it has network configured already .You can check it by the following command on the sun.
    ifconfig -a
Generally applications asks where license server is located and you need to give the ip-address or host name only . Application docs will give more detail about it.
You can get ip-address from ifconfig comand above.

  • Getting the network interface up in solaris 10

    Hi,
I am a solaris newbie and am trying to get the network interface up on solaris 10. I have set the required details in
    /etc/hostname.if
    /etc/hosts
    /etc/inet/ipnodes
    /etc/inet/netmasks
    /etc/defaultrouter
yet on the startup i get a message "failed to bring up IPv4 interfaces : interfacename"
And when the server starts up after giving the command "ifconfig if up"
    the network interface comes up.
I need to get the interface up on the startup itself.
can anyone help me on this ?????
    Thanks in advance,

... and of course, you need compatible hardware.
But you failed to tell anyone what Ethernet adapter you're trying to use.
Is it on the HCL ? http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/
If it requires third party driver software, did you install that as well ?
You failed to tell anyone whether you're installing to Solaris x86 or to Solaris SPARC.
( For example, a PeeCee NIC will generally just not work in a SPARC system. )

  • Why do we configure the Redundant Interface in CSS Public Face

    Hi,
I have a question : Why do we configure the redundant interface in a CSS facing the public side of a CSS.
    I understand the need for the interface in the server side though. Please refer to the URL below;
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/webscale/css/css_810/redundgd/vipredun.htm#wp1063393

this is not a requirement if your vips belong to the public vlan subnet.
But if your vip addresses are from a different subnet, then the upstream router needs a route pointing to the CSS redundant interface ip.

  • How to configure a Network Interface?

    Hey guys.
I'm very new to Solaris OS. I've now installed Solaris Express Developer Edition on my Laptop. After the restart of the installation,I find out, that my network don't work. I try to configure it with the network-admin-tool, but i can't add something, because the button "add" is nowhere in the window.
Is it possible, that Solaris don't detect the interface and how can I see it?
Thanks and sorry for the bad english :).

    Look for *e[0-9] (as nge0, nge1, bge0, le0, etc.) in:
    # dmesg | less
    or:
    # less /var/adm/messages
    Exaple:
    Oct 13 15:54:45 hostname nge: [ID 223987 kern.info] NOTICE: nge0: link up 100Mbps Full-Duplex
"Unplumbed" interfaces maight not show up in the kernel log as they are passive. To "plumb" all supported interfaces:
    # ifconfig -a plumb
    # ifconfig -a
    (MS' ipconfig mimics ifconfig :o)
If it lists say 'nge0' and you don't have /etc/hostname.nge0 then:
    # cat /etc/hostname.nge0
cat: /etc/hostname.nge0: No such file or directory
    # uname -n > /etc/hostname.nge0
    (or # echo nge0 > /etc/hostname.nge0)
Add the address to /etc/hosts and the netmask to /etc/netmasks and the defaultgateway to /etc/defaultrouter
    Example:
    /etc/hosts:
    10.0.0.1 gw.fqdn gw
    10.0.0.2 hostname.fqdn hostname nge0
    /etc/netmasks:
    10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0
    /etc/defaulrouter:
    gw
You can change things on the fly with the comands ifconfig and route, but these files must be edited for a persistent boot configuration.
You can list the entire PCI-tree with:
    # prtpicl -v | less
    Example:
    :model Bridge device
    :compatible (a2000003daTBL)
    | pci10de,373.1462.7250.a2 |
    | pci10de,373.1462.7250 |
    | pci1462,7250 |
    | pci10de,373.a2 |
    | pci10de,373 |
    | pciclass,068000 |
    | pciclass,0680 |
    :driver-name nge
To see if your interface has a driver look for the PCI to driver-mapping in /etc/driver_aliases. Also check http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/ and http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/install_check.html
    (put /sbin and /usr/sbin in PATH, i.e. PATH=$PATH:/sbin:/usr/sbin;export PATH)
(use "more" if you don't have "less")

    BpmPatternCollectTime
from SAP BASIS ® SAP BASIS 7.00 in the namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Patterns
I have done the scenario like the above . I have followed all the Steps which are used in above scenario.
I am using a File Sender Adapter and Receiver Adapter .
It is Successfully picked up the File but nothing is happening after that .
I am using two receiver Determination one from Ob to IP and other from IP to FIleReceiver ( IB) .
But, I am Getting error as Block1 (No agent) Error in the PE graphical diagram
I have checked in SWWL my Integration Process Return code is "0"
The steps Which i have followed in BPM are
    1. Block with Deadlkine branch and Exception handler( as TimeOut Exception)
Block Start and Block End as New Transaction
    2. Inside Block infinite Loop which contains Receive step ( Actives the Correlation ) and Multiline Container element which appends the Messages with CollectMessage
    3. Transformation Step
It creates the New Transaction and Interface Maping from CollectMessage List to New Mesage
    4. Send Step
It sends the New Message . It creates the New Transaction .

  • Udev swapping the network interfaces [solved?]

After a recent upgrade my network devices (eth0 and eth1) seem to be randomly assigned at boot. This obviously causes problems for the network scripts. I tried to rectify this by specifying the device names via udev:
    /etc/udev/rules.d/10-network.rules
    KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="00:0d:70:a8:63:12", NAME="eth0"
    KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="00:0b:a1:18:80:ba", NAME="eth1"
but this does not seem to have any effect on the device names. Anyone aware of how to fix this problem or what exactly is causing it?
    *note*
I manually searched through the first couple of pages of this forum before posting this because I figured others would have this problem and forum search currently does not work for me. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

    brain0 wrote:
    KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="00:0d:70:a8:63:12", NAME="eth0"
This is your udev line. And now compare it to this one:
    KERNEL=="eth*", SYSFS{address}=="00:0d:70:a8:63:12", NAME="eth0"
See the difference? Stare at it until you see it.
    I'd also reommend this change:
    SUBSYSTEM=="net", SYSFS{address}=="00:0d:70:a8:63:12", NAME="eth0"
It makes this rule more general and even works if the interface is named completely different by the kernel.
Thank you! I copied that bit I had above (except for the MACs) from a howto page on udev. I guess they changed some things recently to require double equals for comparison? I had to go back and change some of my rules for other things as well.
