Error in configuring TREX 7.0
I have installed TREX 7.0 and CRM 5 on different machines. When I configuring Trex in stand-alone trex-admin-tool according to TREX manual, I get error message "RFC Destination could not be created " and error in log:
>TS> Fri Dec 15 12:55:23 2006
T:2916 ======> Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)
T:2916 <* RfcReceive [2] : returns 3:RFC_SYS_EXCEPTION
but I can login with SAP GUI using this login and password.
Any solutions how to make it work?

What i have to change to use GW on server with my SAP system ? -
Dear Experts,
We have implemented self service procurement and we are planning to implement CCM within the same client.
As i understand that TREX is mandatory for CCM, I required some clarifications from you.
1) We should maintain seperate client for TREX? or we can use same ccm client?
2) How do we install TREX component in our server or it 's already exist when we install SRM?
3) If I go for different client for TREX then what all are the settings i need to maintain for this>
Thanks for your help
Thanks
RaviHi Ravi,
For CCM yes you are correct TREX is mandatory
For your questions:
1) Well I assume you have installed TREX somewhere once is installed and you performed the configuration of TREX. TREX will create automatically an RFC in SRM (if you are using CCM in the same client of SRM) or the CCM client this is how you connect to TREX from your CCM client.
2) You need to install TREX it does not come with your CCM/SRM installation this is a standalone NetWeaver component: you can find the guides here under Standalone Engines-> SAP NEtWeaver Search and Classification TREX
https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/installnw70
You will find two guides single host and multiple host server download the guide of Single Host this is most used for the majority of installations but every installation is different depending on your business requirements.
Multiple Host
https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000854982007E/TREX71InstallMultipleHosts.pdf
Single Host guide
https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000854952007E/TREX71InstallSingleHost.pdf
3) TREX is not installed in a client is a standalone engine Is not ABAP component the only thing you need to do after you configure TREX is make sure that the RFC got created (during the configuration of TREX)

Hi,
We have installed SAP DMS (ECC6.0) to manage some of our documentation. Now we are trying to configure TREX to index and search for those documents, which are stored inside the SAP Content Server. Right now we have the entire technical configuration completed, but we cannot find any documentation that explain us how to go through the rest of the process... We don't know what transactions to call or tables to maintain in order to configure indexes and search functionality. Please note that we use transaction CV04N to search for documents.
Can anyone please provide me information on how to configure TREX?
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Ricardo InácioI am facing the same problem: I need some documentation on how to use TREX search in CV04N.
There must be some docs, but I cannot find them.
Thanks in advance

hello to all.
Why do i need to do the post installtion of the trex ""Configuring TREX" for sld"?
I have to do it?
Thanks
MenasheIf you are installing any component of 'NetWeaver', you should register it with Central SLD server of your landscape.
Same case with Trex too, that's why you have that post installation step there. However, it is not a 'Mandatory' step which needs to be done immediately after installation. But in future, you might require this. So you may proceed to do it after proper understanding of what is an 'SLD' even !
This step itself tells it's purpose as seen from below help page
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/42/e33ae230ba3ee2e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
Following link will help you in understanding the SLD

How to configure trex name server
hi all
while creating index i am getting the error
Index could not be created; creating index failed: TREX Name Server (including back-up servers) is down or not accessable. (Errorcode 7217)
for the above error i need to configure the trex name server using TREX Configuration in the J2EE Engine in j2ee visual administrator .
can any one tell me the clear path that where to configure the above and where j2ee visual administrator installed how to configure the name server
awaiting for replies
regards
ganeshHi Ganesh,
In order to access the Visual Administrator, go to Start > Programs > SAP J2EE Engine > Visual Administrator. After you login, you will see 2 nodes i.e. Dispatcher and Server. Expand the Server node. Then go to "Services" and expand it. Then go all the way down to "TREX Service". Then on the right hand side, go to the property "nameserver.address" where you will key in "tcpip://<nameserver>:<port>". Then hit "Update" and click on the "Save" button. Then when you go to TRex Monitor, you should be able to see the Name Server running. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Sri

How To Configure TREX Name Server&Port for UDDI Service Registry Settings
Hello Experts,
we are using CE 7.1 SP 4 and I would like to use the trex service in the Service Registry.
I use \NWA\Service Registry Configuration\Service Registry Settings\Keyword Search and want to test the TREX Communication using the Test Connection Button.
If I do so, I receive "Connection to TREX not successful".
When I press the Update TREX button I receive this exception:
com.sapportals.trex.TrexException: TREX Name Server (including back-up servers) is down or not accessable. (Errorcode 7217)
I tried to configure the trex.service with the two parameters: nameserver.address and nameserver.backupserverlist -> tcpip://myhostname.mydomain:30001 (Instance 00).
I am not sure if the port number is correct -> is there a way to lookup the correct port number?
Is there something else I should configure?
Thanks for help, best regards

How to configure TREX so it does not include title in the index created
Hi all
Can someone tell me where I can find the TREX configuration that disables the indexing of the html title. If I for instance want to index www.sap.com, and I do not want the title = "SAP - Business Software Solutions Applications and Services" to be indexed, how do I do that?
If I were to index www.sap.com I would not be interested in getting a hit for all pages when a user searches for "software" or "solutions" for example.
Any help will be rewarded.
Kind regards,
Martin SøgaardHi Praveen
Thank you for your post. It was exactly was I was searching for, and it didn't come up on my searches in SAP documentation. As of now it seems to work as intended on our DEV system.
Only thing about the documentation was that I had to change the std.html-config file in the SYS-folder of the TREX installation folder in order for it to work (the std.html-config file was located in two different folders).
Thanks.
Kind regards,

Configuring TREX for HCM Talent management functionality using Nakisa
Hi,
We are configuring the Talent Management functionality in ECC-HR system. We have installed TREX 7.1 patch number 36 and Nakisa.
We are using the 'embedded search' functionality.
Now, also and are trying to create indexes using the Administration cockpit (tcode ESH_COCKPIT).
However we are getting the error 'System DHS, client 100: A connection already exists' while creating a 'search connector' in the cockpit.
Also, we are getting the below log error in the system in SM21:
''TREX_ICM - Send_Error; return code = 112, return text =HTTPIO_PLG_ICM_CONNECT_FAILED-Fehle''
Kindly let us know what should be done.
Thanks & Regards,
Kunal.Hi,
Now the initial error we were getting is resolved by applying one note suggested by SAP OSS.
However, now we have another issue, while creating indexes using tcode ESH_COCKPIT in the backend system.
We get error when we try to go to tcode TREXADMIN --> TREX
ABAP Customizing --> 'Net Performance'.
It gives the error below:
ERROR
Remote communication failure with partner http://:33003/ICMConnectTest
HTTP Status 507: Kernel error:ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED (400 )
Kindly let us know why we get the error because even while recreating
the indexes we get similar error i.e. Remote communication failure with
partner http://cca1cs0872:33003/asxml/multiIndexCellTable
The icm timeout parameter is sufficiently large i.e. around 30 minutes.
Also, the RFC (TREX_DHS) from ECC-HR system to the TREX is working fine.
Thanks & Regards,
Kunal. -

Configuring CCMS_OnAlert_Email with CCMS
Hi,
I have setup CCMS_OnAlert_Email with CCMS for transport alerts, I have also setup distribution list in client 000 but I got express message as "Cannot process message, no route from DDIC to DEV:<client>:<userid>", please let me know how to route DDIC to other client users.
Thanks in advance
KVRI have configured in individual system, what CCMS background jobs run for transport alerts? I have configured CCMS alerts through DDIC in 000. I am assuming jobs will run with that user.
I don't have any other users so I have configured a distribution list for forwarding the alerts. But when I am trying to send a mail from SAP business workplace using distribution list I was getting above error.
Thank you
