Configuring UCM in 11g

HI,
I am installing UCM and also need to configure WebCenter as well for Spaces/portal.
The steps I am using are:
1. Install DB.
2. Install WLS
3. Run RCU
4. Install WeCenter Suite
5. Configure Webcenter
6. Install WebCenter Content.
7. Configure WebCenter Content.
For Step 5 - the configuration needs to be done at - <Middleware_home>\oracle_common\common\bin\config.cmd
as a new domain
For Step 7 - the configuration needs to be done at - <Middleware_home>\Oracle_ECM1\common\bin\config.cmd
My question is will this be a new domain or an extension of the domain created in Step 5.

By configuration in Step 5 I meant - <Middleware_home>\oracle_common\common\bin\config.cmd
Also, when u say in Step 7 - Install WebCenter Content - <Middleware_home>\Oracle_WC1\common\bin\config.cmd
Isn't it already installed in Step 5 as mentioned in steps you gave.
Also, I have been given a document which explains how to install WebCenter Portal and Content and works fine for others but it does not mention Step 7 as you told.
Can you please clarify what is done when one runs' the configuration file at
<Middleware_home>\oracle_common\common\bin\config.cmd
I am new to 11g so please ignore if I am asking same questions again...

Where is the data source configuration in Jdev 11g?

Does anybody know where is the data source configuration in JDeveloper 11g? I want to create a JNDI data source using the database connection. Do I have to login the Integrated WLS to create the data source? Thanks.

Looks 11g didn't create the data source automatically in the App Navigator. I checked the deployed application directory - "Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36\o.j2ee\drs\TestDS\adf\META-INF" and "Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36\o.j2ee\drs\TestDS\META-INF". I didn't find the data source file - data-sources.xml. Then I started the web application and checked the Context, I can only find the data source which I defined in the Integrated WLS. It is interesting that 11g removed the JNDI list from the RMI bindings.
Also thanks to Nick for the information. We are migrating a Spring Framework application to Oracle and don't use ADF Business Components in this project.

After new weblogic domain configuration with oim 11g, not able to login for the frist time as xelsysadm.
it says invalid sign in. and in logs it says password is invalid.
Please help me in asap...

Thanks Pallavi for the effort. I tried commenting out, its still the same. It do not throw exception this time. However, It tells me that the recon event is completed and linked to user. When I go to user's profile, I dont see the resource provisioned.
Also,
The Account ID in recon manager of Web Console and the Account ID that is stored in the tables, doesn't match.
I wrote a custom code to fetch account and user details and here is the output,
User Key : 13 -- has Login Id : USER_CS
Account with account key : 49 is with user key : [USER_CS]
Getting Account Data......
{UD_TEST_1P_EMPLOYEENUMBER=1567, UD_TEST_1P_NAME=Kim1}
However the Account Id in recon manager is : 91
This seems fine.
Doesn't this mean, the account is reconciled successfully?
The problem is that, I am not able to see this resource in User's resource profile.

Configure UCM-SES-LDAP together

i wanted to configure UCM, LDAP and SES together.
Scenario 1
LDAP - Active Directory
Windows 2003
ECM 11.1.1.5.0
standard installation with SESCrawlerExport
SES
Identity management Setup: Active Directory
Source: Oracle Content Server
This configuration work fine, but i got search result (in SES) only for "logout" user. When I log in SES I got empty search result.
Scenario 2
I added new security provider (authenticate user from Active Directory) into security Realm of WebLogic server on ECM machine.
But i got error message when I ran crawler into SES server.

I am having exactly the same issue. Once I configure jps-config.xml file to use my custom authenticator and login into the worklist app, the following gets thrown. I was wondering if you need map some roles to the existing users in the Custom Authenticator.

How to install and configure UCM VCR adapter in WLP 10.3.x?

There is a requirement for my client where need to use Oracle Universal Content Management as a content repository and Weblogic Portal as a portal user interface.
For this requirement, i read this article to do the same " http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/ucm_adapter/install.html#wp1087653 " but as specified in this article section " Add a reference to UCM VCR Adapter Shared Library", i am not able to find the oracle-ucm-spi-app-lib.ear in the specified location i.e <BEA_HOME>/wlportal_10.3/content-mgmt/lib/j2ee-modules/
My Queries are
1. Is it anything wrong in my WLP installation because of that the specified ear file is missing in that location?
2. Is the UCM has to be installed in my machine , but the UCM content server is already available in some other server?
3. where can i get the oracle-ucm-spi-app-lib.ear file to follow the next steps in the article
4. Is there any other way to configure VCR to refer the UCM content server which is already available in remote server?
Please guide me on " how to configure the VCR in my local WLP server" .

Hi Suresh
Only the latest version of WLP which is WLP 10.3.2 has facility to integrate with Oracle UCM with Adapaters. So make sure that you do have this latest version of WLP 10.3.2. Older versions like WLP 10.3 do not have this provision.
Also I guess when you install and configure this Oracle UCM Adapater and choose above WLP Home, I guess these modules may be added in already installed WLP folders. I checked on my side for WLP 10.3.2 and I could NOT find the modules you mentioned. So most probably you may be missing some installation/configuration stuff from UCM side.

Configuring Security With 11g

Hi,
I have just started with the 11g version and couldn't find the Web service manager component.
So how are the security policies to be defined which were earlier handled by the gateway and the agents?
Moreover earlier there was the application server console from where the datasources,jms destination,adapters etc were configured?Which console do we use with the present installation?
There was also a convenient way to see and test the webservices from this application server console,how all these can be accessed with the newer version?
Other than the developer's guide for the soa suite 10g are there any other documents and sample codes to be released for the bpel,mediator and the bam components?

Hello, I guess security will be done with the Oracle Policy Manager. Check the developer guide (section 1.3.1.6) and take a look at the http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/techpreview/s291362-whats-new-in-oracle-soa-suite.pdf slide 27. The AS isn't available yet so that's why soa development is done against an integrated oc4j (I guess?). In the presentation you can also see (slide 30) that monitoring will be available through the Fusion Middleware Contol.

Your question is very generic, so here is a generic answer... download it from OTN because doing so you will have the latest version and use the embedded PL/SQL gateway because it is easier and simpler to use than the separate HTTP server.

Classpath configuration in weblogic 11g

Where can we set the classpath order in weblogic 11g? By default the ear loads the classes from the jar files in lib folder. But we have some classes which have same names in two jar files. We need to set the order of jar file loading so that we can configure classes from which jar file should be loaded first? Does anyone know if we can configure this in server or in any configuration file?

by using "prefer-web-inf-classes" tag in "weblogic.xml" at WAR Level
or
by using "prefer-application-packages" tag in "weblogic-application.xml" in your EAR Level.

Can't configure AEBS 802.11g

Hey there All,
I've got an AEBS 802.11g. I had it running at my church with a secured network and life was good. A couple of weeks ago, the "Windows" guy plugged a PC into the ethernet port on the AEBS and then the network freaked out. I couldn't connect to the network I'd set up using my MacBook, the Mac(17" FP G4)I have at church or my iPod Touch. I was finally able to re-set it and have it located with the default configuration but, It shows a yellow/amber dot in the Airport Utility sidebar, configuration fails and shows error -6754. Any ideas on what might have happened? Did the Windows box/software damage my Base Station?

It's highly unlikely that just connecting a Windows-based device can "damage" the base station, but of course, it is always possible that the base station's configuration was altered to render it non-workable.
I would suggest starting by performing a "factory default" reset on the 802.11g AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS). This should get the AEBS in the same configuration it was in when first removed from the box. This would mean the AEBS would provide an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name of something like Apple Network NNNNNN.
Once verified, that you can connect to the AEBS, either by wire or wireless, you can then use the AirPort Utility to reconfigure it as needed.
