Configuring VM-FEX For Testing

Hello,
Is it possible to configure VM-FEX for testing purposes on one blade in a fully populated chassis? I would think it wouldn't be a problem on the UCS side but will this effect other stuff on the vCenter side?

Hello,
You can safely test with single blade / Cisco VIC and It should not affect exsting network connectivity within UCS or vcenter.
VM-FEX will be appear as another DVS within vcenter / datacenter.

License for testing and production systems

Hi Experts
Can any one help me out on implementing license in my B1 System.
According to our contract we have licensed following user types:
User Type
Licensed
AddOn Access License 25
Professional User 5
Software Development Kit - Development Version 20
We have Test/development system in one hardware and Production system on different hardware. Please advice me how to request/allocate license for my test/development system and production system.
We tried creating a Test System in SAP Market place and requested license for test system. While requesting license for production system, it is found that the license is exceeded. In other words, developent system license also counted.
Please advice me on the best practices of B1 license implementation.

Our customer wants to Keep the production data secure. Developers and consultants should not have the access to it.
Then you have only two options:
1.Either you should maintain a standalone b1 server for the developers and consultants to test their solutions and scenarios.
2.Otherwise you can create users in sql studio for accessing only the test database.
So that as per your requirement
All configurations and sample data will be kept in a test environment where developers and consultants can do their work.Once everything is correct Admin will do the transfer to production.
Note:New users can be created in the sql studio under Databases-><Company Db>->Security->Users, Rt.click new user

How can we use SECATT tool for testing the entire series of transactions to be used in logistics functions?

Create eCATT scripts for each transaction and export the needed values in each script and use them as input variables in the next scripts.
Like, Script P_Order for PO, take the PO number and create a GR WRT to PO number.
Like wise you could link all your scripts to form a Scenario.
After creating individual scripts for each transactions, then create a master script wherein you encapsulate/refer all of them in here..
Like REF ( RFQ , RFQ_1 ).
REF ( INVENTORY , INVENTORY_1 ).

How to configure Fault policy for the Mediator??

Hi All,
I failed to configure fault policy for the mediator on FMW 11g. Below are my configurations.
1. I created simple ESB project: Consume message(using JMS adapter) from AQ topic: Q1 and produce to another AQ topic: Q2. In order to test the fault policy, The project will thorw an exception when produce to the AQ topic Q2 (Q2 didnt exist).
2. Created fault-policies.xml and fault-bindings.xml files in the Composite project directory.
But it didnt work, I didnt find any retry action in the log file. Is this the correct way to configure the fault policy? your suggestions are welcome. thanks.

Best practice for testing a web form after converting to a connection file

I was using InfoPath to test a web form using a web service for the connection. I decided to deploy the form to SharePoint to make sure it worked outside of InfoPath preview mode. This required me to convert the connection to a connection file and publish
that in SharePoint. After getting all that set up, it appears to work from SharePoint.
Now I want to go back and work on the form some more. But in InfoPath it appears preview is no longer an option because the form is using a connection file. While trying to preview the form I am given a message that basically says the form will have to be
published in order for it to make the connection. This would mean I would have to overwrite the form on SharePoint just to test.
I suppose I could publish to a different form library and switch back when I'm done but it would seem that InfoPath preview should still be an option for testing. Is there something I'm missing in InfoPath that would allow me to still test with this form?

Not sure what you're doing, but previewing IP forms with data connections should be quite possible.

To put it simply, here are the basic steps:
Create IP form based on web service
Fill out form and test via Preview
Convert data connection to a connection file
Publish IP form and test on SharePoint
Go back into IP and try to test again via Preview <--- no longer works - now stuck with testing on SharePoint which is "live"
This could be a factor of how our SharePoint environment is configured. I have no other experience to base it on.

Report available for test cases (manual test script files uploaded)?

We upload our test script files to the "Test Case" tab, assign it a status. We are hoping to have a report that would report all test case files and their STATUSES.
In solar_eval, there is a standard SAP report for test case provided. However, the field "Status" for the test case file is not included in this report.
Is there any report available that would give us this status? If not, in which table does this data come from? Is there anyway to build a simple SQVI query to extract the list of test cases and their statuses?
Any help is highly appreciated!

It's not entirely clear on whether you are look for 'Status' values of the Test Case document itself OR for 'Status' values of the Test(s) conducted on such Test Case documents.
I believe the following two SOLAR_EVAL reports should resolve either ways:
(a) SOLAR_EVAL -> Project -> Configuration -> Assignments -> Documentation (Programme called is SAPLSPROJECT_SOLAR_DOC_EVAL_IM) , Tick only 'Test Cases' and switch off other tabs
(b) SOLAR_EVAL -> Project -> Test -> Test Plan Status Analysis

O365 federation for testing purposes

could i set up federated trust from my on premisse infrastructure to o365 (using adfs and dyrsync and localy issuated certificate) just for testing purposes , and after test period i would just brake the trust. Could that have any circumstances, because
in a month or two i would like to migrate to o365?

You can absolutely set up Exchange Online and treat it as a separate organization, create a federated trust and run through testing. It is important to remember that "separate organization" means not using your existing SMTP domain, so you'll likely
want to avoid ADFS/DirSync for the test period in this scenario.
An alternative to consider would be setting up Office 365 in a hybrid coexistence configuration, requiring ADFS and DirSync, but putting Exchange Online in a scenario where it operates in tandem with your local Exchange organization. This coexistence
would allow you to test with your existing, production SMTP domain and a single GAL view, while still allow you to break off permanently without impact to your production Exchange environment if you chose to do so.

Configure EP6 SP11 for SSL

I am following the instructions (help.sap.com) for applying SSL but they are slightly confusing.
1. You apply the SSL to J2EE
2. You have to have the Key Storage Server running - but how do you ensure that it is? Is it by default when the J2EE is running
3. I want to use Verisign Certificates so I suppose that I generate a certificate signing request - do I have to create an entry first under the service_ssl view of the Visual Adminstrator or is this only if I am using a test CA.
4. I then get the certicate back from Verisign and import it into the J2EE.
I assume I can them call my portal on the secure port:
https://myportal.com:500003/irj
Where do I find the secure ports and do I have to do anything in the portal?

I have gone through this document but still i am not able to achieve SSL. These are the steps that i have performed. Do let me know if i have missed out something.
Creating the Server's Key Pair to Use for SSL:
1) Visual Administrator -> KeyStore -> Views (service_ssl) -> 2 Enteries (ssl-credentials, ssl-credentials-cert). I would like to use ssl-credentials for testing purpose. So if i am not wrong, i don't need to do anything here.
2) Assigning the Key Pair to Use for a Specific SSL Port:
I have configured as described in the document.
3)Managing the Credentials and Trusted Certificates to Use SSL:
Is it necessary to select one of these:
Request client certificate
Require client certificate
Can't i use the default, Do not request client certificate ?
I have used Request client certificate and added, SAPServerCA and SAPPassportCA.
4) Configuring the Use of Client Certificates for Authentication
Here the pre-requisite says "The SAP J2EE Engine is configured to support SSL", what does that mean? How do i cross check this ?
The rest of the steps are performed.
Is there anything else that has to be taken care of ?

I like to Configure Acrobat 8 for the Document Center.
In my Acrobat 8 pro swedish version I cannot find the the drop-down-text
"Choose Advanced > Security > Use Adobe Online Services. " taken into account the "language diffrences".
So I download a trial Acrobat 9 pro english version.
And again I cannot do the "Choose Advanced > Security > Use Adobe Online Services. " exercise, this time no langauage consideration.
So Do I need Acrobat pro version 8 english.
Or even betyter do you have a metaframe client I can use for the small test. I get tired of thinking about remove the clent and download another.

This solution works fine in ver 8 and 9 that are the only one I have tested.
1. Launch Acrobat and go to Advanced> Security Settings.
2. Click Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management Servers.
3. Click the New option, up top.
4. Enter this information as it appears: Name: Create Adobe PDF Online Server Name: pdf-policy.adobe.com Port: 443
5. Click Connect to this server and Log in with your Document Center ID and password.
To apply polices to PDF files follow the direction below:
1. Open the PDF in Acrobat 8.
2. Choose Advanced > Security > Manage Security Policies.
3. In the dialog box list of policies, select the policy that you want to apply.
4. Click Apply To Document.
5. In the Save As dialog box, click Save. The default filename includes the word Envelope, so the saved PDF doesnot overwrite the original.

Deauthenticate User on WLC w/ ISE for Testing

We have a wireless deployment using ISE and WLC's configure for LWA. Seeing that CWA has fewer "moving parts" I was trying to migrate to that. When testing my deployment under LWA, I could de-authenticate a user simply by finding the association on the WLC and removing it. Then, when that device would reconnect to the WLAN, it would prompt them for credentials through the WebAuth pages.
After configuring a WLAN for CWA I noticed that when I remove an association from the WLC in the same manner that the upon reconnecting to the WLNA the user never gets redirected to the WebAuth pages. I'm assuming this is because since the authentication takes places on the ISE server, rather than on the WLC (in LWA mode) that the authentication is still active (since I only removed the association on the WLC).
I looked around on ISE, but couldn't find a place to view active user authentications let alone remove those authentications. Can this be done? It'd be great for testing to make sure the WebAuth pages function as I need them to.
I used this guide to set up CWA: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-26442. The only exception to following that guide is that I used an authorization profile that sets the auth timeout to 36000 seconds.

I don't have profiler.
I can see all of the profiled endpoints, however. I've tried removing the endpoint I was testing with, but it doesn't help. When the client reassociates, the Policy Manager State goes straight to run even though ISE has only responded with the initial Authorization profile and not the CoA.

Configuring RFC connections for load balancing.

We have the following landscape for our systems.
The database is installed on z/os , db2 (mainframe). The central services( SCS and ASCS) are also on the mainframe. So the message server is on mainframe.
The CI is on AIX and The DI is on AIX.
We have Logon groups configured and load balancing Configured and is RFC enabled.
1) When we connect to SAP using the SAPGUI and the portal connection is made to either CI or DI depending upon the best response times. Now recently we are running the mercury load testing, all the users are connecting to DI. Why are the users connecting to DI even though we have load balancing?
2) I have a system with SID BP0, with one CI and one DI. The logon group is BP0 and the message server name is cyrix. Now I have other another system EP0. I have created a RFC connection from EP0 to BP0. In SM59 I have selected the load balancing option, and provide the message server name, SID and logon group name. The connection does not work. If I connect directly to the CI or DI the connection works. Please tell me how can I configure load balancing for RFC connections.

I have read about client side and server side load balancing. By editing tnsnames.ora I have enabled client side load balancing which is suppose to select listeners at random. then why does it only go to second node?Could you please show your tnsnames.ora on client?

Joe,
I presume you are trying to build Oracle BDB and not bsd as you have mentioned.
Yes, the error message you are getting is for not having the CC compiler in your system or the path isn't set. Check in the /usr/vac/bin directory if you have one in your system. You might find both xlc and cc compiler there. Set this directory to your path so that 'configure' can see it.
