Confirm Physical-Sample Drawing

Hello,
Are there any other way to release a physical-sample drawing other than QPR4?  I'm trying to release a physical sample however I encounter this error "Physical-sample drawing ###### was not confirmed.  Call the program "Process physical-sample drawing" and confirm the physical-sample drawing ########."
QPR4 is fine when releasing it manually, but what I'm trying to do is having it in BDC, and since QPR4 is in ALV format it is not supported in BDC. That's why I'm looking for an alternative way to confirm the drawing.
Thanks in advance

Hi
Use SHDB & copy this code & call this button in  BDC
This will work in Mass

  • Physical sample and physical sample drawing relationship

    Dear all,
When an inspection lot is created in a inspection plan using sample drawing procedure to determine physical sample size, the following two objects created automatically.
    Physical Sample Drawing Number
    Physical Sample Number
The relationship between these two objects is... one physical sample drawing number can represent more than one physical sample record, am I correct?
    Thanks
    Karen

Physical Sample Drawing Number : it represents unique number for physical sample
Ex. if you sampled 100  pcs   SAP gives Numbe Number for this 100. pcs
Physical Sample Number it gives the number for bifurgation of this qty.
Ex. out of 100 pcs 20 is physical sample  20 for pooled and remaining is reserve etc.
    Cheers,

  • QM Physical Sample Numbers to xMII

I am trying to get the Physical Sample numbers for an Inspection Lot out of SAP and into xMII for additional barcode label processing. I can see the information I need in the SAP R/3 client but am unable to get it to xMII.
I am using the JCO interface and using BAPI_INSPLOT_GETLIST to get the inspection lot # for a Production Order and have tried passing that into BAPI_INSPLOT_GETDETAILS, BAPI_INSPOPER_GETLIST and BAPI_INSPOPER_GETDETAIL but none of them seem to have access to the physical sample records. Can anyone help me with a RFC, BAPI or user Exit that I can use to get this data?

I have tried using BAPI_INSPCHAR_GETRESULT but I can only get information if the results for that char have ben posted. I am trying to get the physical sample numbers to send to a barcode label application so we can track the samples thru the testing machine. The requirements are for multiple lables in different sizes so we are not printing these labels from SAP.
For each inspection lot\physical sample drawing, we generate 30 physical samples. (1 master, 2 pooled, 27 retention) I need to get these numbers out of SAP to print them.
If I run transaction QA3 from the client and select Samples (Physical Samples (Shift + F2)) from the menu, I can see the list I want before any results have been entered.

  • Lot creation with physical sample

    Hi all,
Inspection lots with physical sample not getting created.Error message "Origin 15 not defined" pops up constantly with all materials. The settings in SPRO are maintained:
    LO:15
    Origin:15
    Variant :01
    Inspection type:15
Settings in material master: Activated inspection type '15'
No lots with physical samples exist for the material.
    Regards
    Binesh

I just want to check that you are using the inspection type 15 correctly.  That is used to create inspection lots (usually manually), for already exisitng physical samples in your inventory.  I.e. usuaully this is used to recheck an old sample after a customer complaint or to check shelf life or stability sample.
So the the physical samples have to be created first.  Do you have physical samples created?
You can manually create them but they are usually automatically created via the 01 and 04 lots that use a physical sample-drawing procedure and approporate inspection plans.

  • Inspection of physical samples

    Hi,
I am trying to set up quality inspection of physical samples for a plant. Until now we don't use SAP QM for inspection in production really (neither inspection lot origin 03, nor 04) but that might change in near future. Nevertheless, we would like to start with inspection of physical samples.
As far as I understand the SAP Help files there are "two" different inspection lots for which I can enter values. First, the lot from which a physical sample drawing was created by the system when I create the lot (in my case insp. lot origin 89 and inspection points for physical samples in inspection plan) and, second, the inspection lots I can create from the physical sample via QPR2 or QPR5 (in my case insp. lot origin 15). Although it's one step more for the users to create an inspection lot for each physical sample, I prefer the second option because a physical sample can be reworked in our plant if the results recorded are not acceptable and results have to be recorded again after rework. If I choose the second option I have an inspection lot (origin 89) I can use later on for results recording during production. The fact that irritates me is that's a lot with inspections points of type "physical sample" that I do not need necessarily in all operations.
Why are there two lots in which results to physical samples can be recorded?
Do you agree with my solution or are there other more reasonable ways?
    Cheers
    Marcus.

i have query in physical sample drawing .
i have created physical sample drawing procedure and i have assigned that to the insp.plan header with insp.points '210'  and i have gave  automatic valuation to operation level.my physical sample type is GR. now my query is insp.lot was created but how to change the status..
Is the procedure what i followed is correct?
or else tell the process step by step how to draw the physical samples and process that.

  • Release of physical samples

    Dear SAP Experts,
I have created inspection lot for a material with movement type 101 against a Purchase order in developmet client. I have attached inspection plan to it. In inspection plan sampling procedure & sample drawing procedure are used. According to it Sample calculation is also done. Now the inspection lot is in released status. When I go for result recording system does not allow me for result recording. When I investigate, I observe that the physical samples (both primary & pooled) are in CRTD status. They are not in result status thats why system does not allow the result recording. Please note that I have not used any user status which may prohibit release of physical samples.
I think, after releasing the lot, physical samples must automatically have release status. Is my assumption correct?
If not how the physical samples can have release status automatically?
Kindly help in this regard. Your valuable help is appriciated.
    Regards
    Vivek

    Dear,
Please check in QPV2. There is one check box. this is determine the automatic sample determine.
check box is Confirmation req. Please remove this check box.

  • Result Recording without release of physical sample

    Hi,
        SAP Gurus,
I have one query regarding result recording for some lots.
I have created one sample drawing procedure and assigned to inspection plan.
In SDP I have maintained primary size factor 1, Fixed number 1, Acc.to smplng scheme-PM, Insp. severity-4.
In pooled sample  size factor 1, Fixed number 1.
At header level Consider No. of Containers Tick, Confirmation Required Tick, Used in Task List Tick.
I have done One GR for raw material and assigned that inspection plan to the created 01 origin 01through QA02.
One primary and pooled sample is created in CRTD status. I have not release the sample.
When I go to QE11 for result recording system assigns the physical sample by default and branch me direatly to the result recording screen.
My query is that, i have acivated confirmation required tick in SDP then system should not accept the sample which is in created status and should not allow me to do result recording. But system is skiping this and allowing me to do Result recording.
Please let me know what necessary settings i have forgot.
    Thanks in advance,
    Harriesh

    Dear Shyamal,
The scenario i mapped is that, I need to release the sample manually. User should not go for RR without sample release.
It is working fine also. But for few lots it is not asking the sample release. It ir skiping the sample status stage and directly going to RR.
Please let me know way system is behaveing like this for few lots only.
    Thanks and regards.
    Harriesh.

  • Three Physical Samples withdraw from inspection lot 04  and then result record for all three

    Dear Gurus,
We have 3 quality labs and each lab is sent a separate samples to inspect certain characteristics once we receive material from production. I have created an inspection plan and mapped these three labs as  work center in operation and then assigned MICs under each operation to inspect.
Now my issue is how to map separate 3 samples to inspection lot generated from production  ( type-4) and also how to configure that to inspection plan.
I have to result record for all these three physical sample as withdrawn from Lot based upon inspection plan as mentioned above.
I can mention sample drawing procedure in inspection plan but how to map actual sample there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Satish

    Hi Satish
You are creating three operation for depicting three testing Labs.
Against each lab (operation) you had assigned MICs as per your requirement.
Now you have to assign a SDP along with inspection point type 200 for physical sample in task list.
After prod confirmation system will create inspection lot along with a sample by default for 1st operation.
For other operations you have to create samples manually referring the same inspection lot (QPR6).Remember to click ' Create Insp points' and mention operation.
    Release the samples in QPR4.
Now when you go for result recording system would ask first for operation, so select the operation , then system will ask for insp point (sample no). There click on assign insp point , so system will provide the Sample no which were created in QPR6 for that particular operation.
Please follow the steps and revert.

  • Difference between Sampling Procedure and Sample-drawing procedure

    Friends,
I am new to QM and started learning QM Module. My doubt is what is the difference between Sampling Procedure and Sample-drawing procedure?
The reason for my doubt is, we can determine the sample quantity with Sampling procedure itself. then what is the need of sample-drawing procedure?
Also describe primary, pooled and reserved samples.
    Regards,
    IMIMINT

    Hi,
    Sampling Procedure
    Definition
A procedure that contains the rules for determining the sample size for an inspection. The sampling procedure also specifies the type of valuation to use for results recording (attributive, variable, or manual).
    Use
You assign a sampling procedure to each characteristic in an inspection plan to calculate the sample size.
    Sample-Drawing Procedure
    Definition
A master data object in which you plan the drawing of physical samples. In the sample-drawing procedure, you specify:
Which categories of physical samples must be drawn
How many physical samples must drawn
The size of each physical sample
Whether the drawing of physical samples must be confirmed
    Use
The system uses the information in the sample-drawing procedure together with the information in the inspection plan to calculate the physical sample sizes, and to create physical-sample records when an inspection lot is created.
Primary Sample : It is the sample drawn from the lot directly.
Pooled Sample : It is the sample whcih is combination of 2 or more primary samples.i.e. primary sample sfrom say 3 differetn drums is mixed and tested.
Reserved Sample :sample which is preserved for the testing in future.
    or in other words
    Primary samples (1st stage)
Physical samples drawn directly from a material or batch that will be inspected or used to create pooled samples.
    Pooled samples (2nd stage)
Physical samples to be created by mixing the contents of two or more primary samples from the same material or batch.
    Reserve samples
Primary physical samples drawn from a material or batch reserved for future inspection.

  • Quality management( difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing)

    Hi Experts,
I am very new to quality management module & working in united states. i am trying to find difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing procedure.
I see that sample drawing procedure is assigned to Inspection Plan & sampling procedure is assigned to characteristics, But i don't know the difference between these two, Please help me.
    Regards,
    Seshu

    Hi,
    SAMPLING PROCEDURE :
A procedure that contains the rules for determining the sample size for an inspection. The sampling procedure also specifies the type of valuation to use for results recording (attributive, variable, or manual).
    Use
You assign a sampling procedure to each characteristic in an inspection plan to calculate the sample size.
    Integration
In a sampling procedure, you must activate the function for inspection points based on a sample-drawing procedure if you assigned a sampling procedure and a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan at the characteristic and header levels respectively.
    SAMPLE DRAWING PROCEDURE:
    Structure
A sample-drawing procedure contains the following types of information:
    Header data
The sample drawing header contains the following information fields and control indicators:
Key that identifies the sample-drawing procedure
Short text description for the sample-drawing procedure
Authorization group that limits the access to the sample-drawing procedure
    Text for matchcode searches
    Long text indicator
Indicator for calculating the number of physical samples on the basis of number of containers in the inspection lot (as opposed to the base unit of measure)
Confirmation indicator to activate or deactivate the confirmation requirement
Lock indicator to prevent the sample-drawing procedure from being used
Usage indicator that shows whether the sample-drawing procedure is currently used in an inspection plan
    Sample-drawing item(s)
A sample-drawing item contains specific instructions for creating physical samples with respect to a specific inspection lot container type and specific partial-sample numbers in the inspection plan. In a sample-drawing item, you can also specify:
Which categories of physical samples you want to create (primary samples, pooled samples, and reserve samples)
The physical sample container you use to draw each category of physical sample
A factor to increase the quantity of physical samples to be created (for example, if you need to carry out more than one inspection)
The number of physical samples to be created (fixed number or variable number based on a sampling scheme)
    Integration
The sample-drawing procedure interacts with the following planning objects:
    Inspection plan
You assign a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan to activate the functions for sample management.
    Sampling scheme (optional)
If you want the system to determine the number of physical samples automatically on the basis of a sampling scheme, you can reference sampling schemes in a sample-drawing procedure.
    Hope it helps...

  • How to manage physical sample in SAP?

    Hi,
How to manage physical sample in SAP?
    Regards
    Ashish Jain

    Hi
Physical sample is to keep the sample of a product till its shelf life expiry date. E.g. In case of any shelf life applicable product, the inspected sample will be retained till its expiry date. If any customer complaints are received, on inspecting the complaint, result may be compared with the existing physical sample.
In SAP, Material master should have inspection type 15.
To create physical sample, sample drawing procedure has to be created and attached to the header of inspection plan. With this set up when the lot is created, physical sample will also be created. Result recording should be done for physical sample. Physical sample storage information has to be updated through transaction code QPR2
