Confirm Shockwave player file version by looking at a file version?

When I go online it says I have Shockwave Player 11.5.2r602.  But I can't see to locate a file anywhere on my computer that when I look at it's file version, it shows that.  Does anyone know how I can verify the shockwave player version of a computer by simply looking at the file version of a certain file on that computer?

Thanks!
I couldn’t find the Shockwave Player forum on the main Adobe forums page, thanks for the link also.

  • Pkg files started to look as unrecognizable file formats

Pkg files started to look as unrecognizable file all of a sudden. Nothing in particular happen. Not a freeze or anything. I just can't open them and use installers. I can extract them, though, on my desktop. This will produce an unusable, in terms of actually figuring out how to install anything, folder.

I think you're confusing two different things. If you attached PDF files and one of them displayed the PDF icon in the message window, that means it was more than one page. If you saw what appeared to be the actual document for the other PDF file, that means it's only one page and it's normal for it to display that way.
However, I seem to recall there may (or should) be a button at the bottom-right of the message window that allows you to display those files as icons, even if they're one page. If not, there's a third-party addition you can use to add that feature:

  • TS5376 For "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer", I followed the steps and there is no C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files..Also, after the update, I no longer show my disk drive when I load a CD.

After downloading the new Itunes update, my compter now shows error: "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer". I follwed the Apple fix / steps but it did not correct it. Also, after the update my disk drive is not recognized on my computer. If I load a CD, I cannot even access it.

See also Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes (similar to the advice above) and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies. E.g. TS2308: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Shockwave Player two versions installed.

I am using Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6 on Windows XP Pro and I.E.8.  Windows Add/Remove Programs lists as installed programs both Shockwave Player 11.6 and Shockwave player 11.5.  Can I safely uninstall version 11.5 without afftecting 11.6 or Adobe Flash?
    I'd appreciate your opinion.
    O S

I had to Uninstall both 11.5 and 11.6 versions of Adobe Shockwave Player than reinstall version 11.6.  All is fine now.

  • Uninstall Adobe Shockwave Player 11.0

While upgrading from Windows Vista - Windows 7, I run windows7 upgrade advisor to check the compatibility as suggested by Microsoft. The report shows following issue.
    Adobe Shockwave Player
    version 11.0
    Adobe Systems, Inc.
    Update available
We don't have compatibility information about this version of the program.
Get an update to a compatible version http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
I updated the latest version from the above link suggest by Advisor, but still the same issue was showing. Closing looking the latest version of Adobe Shockwave Player is 11.5 and the issue was showing for version 11.0. Looking further, for all the programs installed in Control Panel - Programs, I found my system have both Adobe Shockwave player (11.0 & 11.5). When I use Shockwave Player Uninstaller (sw_uninstaller.exe) this uninstall only new version (11.5) and old version remains without logo.
Please help to uninstall Adobe Shockwave Player version 11.0.

Should have looked through this forum a little closer:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/560708?tstart=0
I used the installation program for ShockWave 11.0 with the uninstall switch and this did uninstall it.
Since I am using an SCCM package to deploy the uninstall of SW 11.0 and the install of SW 11.5.6.606,
I used this line in my Installer package:
    Execute msiexec /uninstall "Path\SWInstallFileName.msi" /quiet (Wait)
I had to rename the SW 11.0 installation filename since it was the same as the SW 11.5.6.606 installation filename
and I needed to use both .MSIs in my package.
This does not explain why the sw_uninstaller.exe provided by Adobe is not working though.
It would be nice to have an explanation and get this problem corrected so we can use sw_uninstaller.exe.

  • Adobe, please sort the recent issues with Shockwave player updating

Windows 7 x64, fully patched.  Go to adobe.com to update Shockwave Player, hangs after accepting run of .exe file. Even when I go to the direct download link, I get:
    "c:\Windows\system32\Adobe\Director\SWDNLD.EXE
    Error opening file for writing"
When I look for that path, "c:\Windows\system32\Adobe..." does not even exist (either not there pre install attempt, or removed by install attempt.
Adobe, can you please get your act together and sort this with an updated download?
    Thank you

    Hi - me again.
Thank you Adobe techies - the update now works on the various Windows 7 x64 PCs it previously failed on.

  • Non-functional installs for Shockwave Player in Firefox

The online install for flash does not work for WIN XP-PRO SP 3, Firefox 31.0, in installing the Shockwave Player. It installs Flash Player, but not Shockwave Player. The manual install from the downloaded file :
       Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe
       version 12.1.3.153
Is also not fully functional for this.
The web page "https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/" says that I have Flash Player version 14,0,0,179 installed
However the page for testing the "Adobe Shockwave Player" (https://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/) always says that I need to download a plugin.
Clicking the install link on the this test page for SHOCKWAVE PLAYER does not yield a functioning install either.
Eventually, after a lot of wandering our the Adobe web site, I went to the troubleshooting page and then on to the alternative installs page at :
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/
    - note that NONE of the items listed on the alternative installer page, say that they work in FIREFOX!! None of them.
I had to go into the System Requirements link (http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/productinfo/systemreqs/) for a table that is about IE and Netscape installs, just to find out that "11" might ALSO work in Firefox. This is a large oversight. Most people will not click the system requirements for a browser they do not use, in order to get the browser they DO use to run SHOCKWAVE.
Adobe really needs to fix their onllne install to work better. I have been complaining about these issues (and others, with never-ending installs that don;t work) for over a year. They also need to fix the web page ( http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/ ) to state that it works in FIREFOX, not just IE.
    - again -  Most people will not click the system requirements for a browser they do not use, in order to get the browser they DO use to run SHOCKWAVE.

What exactly does that mean?  What happens when you run that installer?
I know that the Shockwave Player download page just mentions IE and Netscape; that is probably because most non-IE browsers are really based on the original Netscape architecture, and the plugins are still the same (NPAPI).
The page also says "Shockwave Player 11", although Shockwave has been at version 12 for quite a while.  I have tried to get Adobe to update that page, but it seems to be an impossible task!

  • Looking for APXXTR files on the database

    Hi to All,
I have raised an SR with oracle to resolve a expense report issue that takes place in import process. SR asked to locate the following files. Currently looking for the files. Can you anyone shed some light where these files may be on the DB. We are currently using EBS 11.5.10.2 and running Oracle DBMS 10g on windows 2000 server.
    src/apxxtr/apidbl.lpc src/apxxtr/apicdl.lpc include/apxxtr.h 115.20
I have asked oracle to specify path of files...but they didnt give much of a good answer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are likely to get better help in the EBS forum :-)

  • Can applescript search one file for non-matches in another file?

I'd like to know if it's possible for Applescript to do the following:
Take a text file with 600+ URLs and compare it to another text file with 100,000+ URLs and set out as a result any URL from the first small list that is NOT included in the second larger list?
If it is possible to do this, is there anyone out there willing to create such a script for a modest fee?

Hard to read the screenshot. next time cut and paste the test into the reply. Also select Replies as the display for the window in Applescript.
The error you get, the no such file or directory are you sure that the file exists? Looks like the file is called List and it is in your desktop?
Just tried it here and it is working OK
Here is another copy just in case something got messed up in the first one:
The patteren file is the smaller file with the URLs that we will lok for in the URL file
set file1 to POSIX path of (choose file with prompt "Select patteren file:" default location alias (the path to desktop folder as text))
set file2 to POSIX path of (choose file with prompt "Select URL file:" default location alias (the path to desktop folder as text))
    do shell script "grep -o -E '(https?|ftp|file)://.+' " & file1 & " > ~/patternFile"
    do shell script "grep -o -E '(https?|ftp|file)://.+' " & file2 & " > ~/urlFile"
    do shell script "grep -v -f ~/patternFile ~/urlFile > ~/missingUrlFile"
--- stop copying above this line
Just so you can see what the output in the Replies window of Applescript will look like:
    tell current application
      path to desktop as text
      --> "Mac OS Lion:Users:frank:Desktop:"
    end tell
    tell application "AppleScript Editor"
choose file with prompt "Select patteren file:" default location alias "Mac OS Lion:Users:frank:Desktop:"
      --> alias "Mac OS Lion:Users:frank:Desktop:f1"
    end tell
    tell current application
      path to desktop as text
      --> "Mac OS Lion:Users:frank:Desktop:"
    end tell
    tell application "AppleScript Editor"
choose file with prompt "Select URL file:" default location alias "Mac OS Lion:Users:frank:Desktop:"
      --> alias "Mac OS Lion:Users:frank:Desktop:f2"
    end tell
    tell current application
      do shell script "grep -o -E '(https?|ftp|file)://.+' /Users/frank/Desktop/f1 > ~/patternFile"

  • Adobe Shockwave Player version 11.0.3.472

    Adobe Shockwave Player version 11.0.3.472
Adobe Shockwave Player version 11.0.3.472 released January
    27, 2009
    Windows | English | 4.38 MB
    http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

I literally had to go through my system and manually remove
the Norton Security Scan files to stop this from happening!
Anyone else with this problem on Windows Vista 32-bit can
stop Norton Security Scan from reinstalling by doing the following
    Delete C:\Windows\system32\Adobe\Shockwave 11\nssstub.exe
    from your system.
    Also in C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Temp
Remove or quarantine all of the files with Norton in the
    name.
Also in the same folder, Remove or quarantine NSSstub.txt
This is a nuisance! This optional software bundle should not
be selected and installed by default.
Yes, I believe that it hurts the product and brand in the long run that they have opt-out 3rd party software, but they're by far not the only large company that does this with their software.
Anyways, DO NOT uninstall Norton's manually. To clean most Norton's products from your system as fully as you can, use their removal tool: http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
And for those of you who are still paranoid about using their removal tool to remove their software - this tool came about because of customer complaints, so it does what it says.
