Confirmation by different user than requester

Hello Gurus,
I have the following issue working with SRM 5.0 classic scenario. An user creates a SC. Afterwards, the normal process for the SC is followed. The PO is created in the back end.
The requester usually creates the confirmation in SRM. Is there any way to delegate that task (by the user himself) to another person in case the requester goes on vacation?
Any suggestion how to deal with that? Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
My question now is: Is there any other choice to deal with this, different than assigning a rol to the user? I mean, anything similar to purchasing substitute?
Best regards,
Miguel

    My ipod started messing up ever since i downloaded the ios 5. Everytime i request a song it will skip the song and pick a random song, not play the song at all sorta like it's frozen in that spot until i fix it, or i will click on a song and it will play a different song all together but with the title song that i chose. i'd really apprieciate the help. When updating or restoring some iPods via a usb connection, it needs to be plugged into power via the charger to complete the process, and this is why you see this icon displayed.
    It's also why older iPods that required this step were supplied with a power adaptor as standard.
    You may be able to complete the process via a car charger, or via a powered firewire port on the computer (with the required 6 pin cable of course) if you have access to either of those. Or maybe visit an Apple store if one is nearby.
    Or you can try this.
    No power adaptor? Try this.
    Other than that, your iPod cannot be used until you complete this process.

  • How do I copy backed-up files from an external hard drive back to my MBA, but under a different user than the one from which they were backed up?

    On the advice of the Chicago Mac Genius Bar, in order to get better performance on my few years old MBA, I copied my Home folders (but not Library) to an external hard drive, created a new user, deleted the old user, and tried to copy the Home folder contents from the external hard drive back to the MBA under the new user. However, I get an error message and can't open most of the folders on the external hard drive (e.g. "The folder “Desktop” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.") Help! Thanks.

    As captfred says, yes (as long as the drive is formatted for a Mac, not Windoze).

  • CF10 Enterprise, multi-instance w/different user accounts

    Running CF10-Enterprise, 10,0,9,284568 with Update 9.  This is running under JDK 1.7.0_21, and is fronted by Apache 2.2.x and all runs under RHEL6.x.  It seems to work fine
    In short - is it possible to create a new instance, and have that new instance run as a different user than the "main" instance?  If so, what trouble does it cause?
    In more detail...
    The main reason we'd like to have a separate Instance is for "complete" isolation, to prevent one CF process or instance from affecting another, vs having one CF instance and just a lot of websites under it.  Service isolation is a policy.
    I spin up a new Instance (CF Admin -> Enterprise Manager -> Instance Manager), and start it.  It runs as the user "cfusion", which is the same user that the main instance runs as.  I'd prefer it to run as another user, namely the user that owns the site this instance is  for.  So if I have site www.site1.com owned by user site1, I'd like the CF java process to run as user site1 as well, and not the cfusion user.
    In the past, this "complete" isolation was managed by deploying CF9 as a WAR file and running it under Tomcat.  Each website had its own user in /etc/passwd, and that was the user the CF-under-Tomcat process ran as, the files were owned by that user, etc.  But CF10 (currently at least) doesn't support being run as a WAR file under Tomcat.
    The files in /opt/coldfusion10/ are owned by the user cfusion.  An instance I created is in /opt/coldfusion10/testsite/.  Could I chown -R testsite:testsite /opt/coldfusion10/testsite/ (user named same as instance name)?  And the run /opt/coldfusion10/testsite/bin/coldfusion start, as the user testsite?
    I'd lose the ability to easily manage this instance from the main CF Administrator site, such as Updates.  Under CF9, the update process sucked and was manual and I had to do it for each site anyway (sigh.)  But CF10 has a nice(r) update method, and I'd lose that.  But if that's the only thing I lose, and I have to manually update each instance, I guess I can live with that (no different than what I'm doing now, still easier though under CF10.)
    I suspect this is just simple lack-of-knowledge on my part (as are many things in my life.)
    Thank you,
    PH

    Sorry, no.  I haven't found a way to do this, if I want to manage it all from the primary CF instance.  I can, of course, manipulate each instance independently.  But that does rather defeat the purpose of having multiple instances via the Instance Manager.
    I haven't looked in to it much more.  I could probably hack together a combination of password-less sudo and editing of the coldfusion start/stop scripts.  But I don't think that level of editing would be a good idea, not to mention if there ever is a CF update that might specifically rely on unaltered scripts.

    Appreciate your support and if possible , how to do this?

    If you want to work with Mac OS X, you need one computer per simultaneous user.
    What you are describing, " Multiple simultaneous logins to a single computer" is not avialable on a regular Mac of any description, unless you decide to use Unix tools instead of Mac OS X.
    Server will happily store files for many, many users and provide them to multiple (up to hundreds) of computers at "near hard Drive" speeds over Gigabit Ethernet. It can make the File Sharing part easy.

    The best thing to do would be to start over. Use Setup Assistant this time.
    Boot into Recovery, launch Disk Utility, and erase the startup volume. This operation will destroy all data on the volume. Quit Disk Utility and install OS X. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
    When you reboot, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process. That’s when you transfer the data from one of your backups. For a walkthrough, see here:
    Using Setup Assistant
    Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled on the old system.
    Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.

    You are right i wouldn't like to change owner. But I would like the program to be able identify itself as a different user who has writing privileges, or something of that sort, in order for it to have permissions. Something similar to the 'runas' command in windows.

  • How do I use OracleMaps Javascript API from a different host than MapViewer

    Hello,
    I have successfully set up the Mapviewer quick start 10131, and am able to view the sample page showMap.html perfectly. I would like to run this same sample on a different server than where Mapviewer is installed. Let say mapviewer is installed on jstraub-winsvr:8888 and I want to run showMap.html from jstraub-linux1:7777. I tried changing the function showMap and the location to oraclemaps like the following:
    <script language="Javascript" src="http://jstraub-winsvr:8888/mapviewer/fsmc/jslib/oraclemaps.js"></script>
    function showMap()
    var baseURL = "http://jstraub-winsvr:8888/mapviewer";
    var mapCenterLon = -122.45;
    var mapCenterLat = 37.6706;
    var mapZoom = 4;
    var mpoint = MVSdoGeometry.createPoint(mapCenterLon,mapCenterLat,8307);
    var mapview = new MVMapView(document.getElementById("map"), baseURL);
    mapview.addBaseMapLayer(new MVBaseMap("mvdemo.demo_map"));
    mapview.setCenter(mpoint);
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    mapview.display();
    Now when I try running this page on jstraub-linux1:7777 I get a Javascript error, and in Firebug, I can see that there are request like the following:
    POST: http://jstraub-linux1:7777/mapviewer/ReturnLocaleOper
    GET: http://jstraub-linux1:7777/mapviewer/mcserver?xml_request=%3C?xml+version=%221.0%22+standalone=%22yes%22?%3E%3Cmap_cache_admin_request%3E%3Cget_client_config+map_cache_names=%22mvdemo.demo_map%22+format=%22JSON%22/%3E%3C/map_cache_admin_request%3E
    Obviously those requests are bogus since mapviewer is at jstraub-winsvr:8888 and not jstraub-linux1:7777, I just want to run the page from jstraub-linux1:7777. Anybody know how I do this?
    Regards,
    Jason

    I believe that I am having the same problem. While I don't yet have a resolution, I do have a bit more information that may be useful. I have examined the oraclemaps.js script file and found some relevant references to the Javascript document.location object. As I watch the script execute, it seems that the author has made the assumption that the page served to the user has been served from the same Oracle Application Server running MapViewer. I have listed the lines that contain references to document.location below. (The line numbers may be off by a line or two as I have made some minor changes to facilitate my investigation.)
    Line 742 : //_f16._f104="http://"\+document.location.host\+"/mapviewer/foi";
    Line 6280 : var x2=String(document.location);
    Line 10270 : var x40=String(document.location);
    By changing line 742 to...
    f16.f104="http://mymvserver:8888/mapviewer/foi";
    ...I believe I have the script looking in the right place. (Previously, it had been looking for /mapviewer/foi on the server that originally served the page.)
    The x2 variable (at line 6280) seems to provide the current document location as a means to determine the MapViewer URL. Once again, the author seems to presume that MapViewer is found on the same server that originally served the page.
    this._f53=x2.substring(0,x3\+x5\+2)+"/mapviewer";
    I changed this line to read:
    this._f53="http://mymvserver:8888/mapviewer";
    Having made these changes, I have moved past the "object not found"-types of errors I had been getting. I now get "Permission Denied" errors which, I am thinking, may be the result of cross-site scripting problems predicted by the previous poster.
    So, my question is this: Is it really expected that the page that integrates the map display must be served by the same Oracle Application Server instance on which MapViewer is running? This strikes me as an absurd limitation, so I assume it is not the case. Indeed, there is a post on this forum by another user who claims to have written an ASP.Net application that uses the Javascript interface to integrate MapViewer and the map display ( Link:securing mapviewer ). This is precisely what we are trying to do; but I have yet to determine how to go about doing it.
    Can this be done? Is there any documentation that describes how to accomplish this?

    Subject: (forte-users) Object Request Brokers.....
    Hi All,
    We are writing a cold fusion application which needs to use some
    services from a Forte application. We also have a Cold Fusion Visi
    Broker(ORB)to communicate with Forte. I was wondering what all we need
    in order to get a handle to all the service objects used by Forte
    application in our Cold Fusion application.
    Also do we need to change our deployment scheme for the Forte
    application. I
    believe we have to make a special deployment
    for Forte application to be available to ORB's. By default,
    Forte uses Unix internal communication mechanism like sockets
    etc. for service objects to be available across different
    partitions.
    Also do we need to run both applications and ORB on the same box
    or can we put them in some kind of network.
    I hope I made myself quite clear what we are looking for. I will be
    more than happy to put some more details in case someone needs
    further clarification.
    Are there any technotes out there whcih we can refer to.
    I will appreciate any thoughts.

    You can also use the HTTP-DC project.... You don't
    need Web Enterprise for this. From what I can tell,
    this is available in L.x on....
    There is api documentation in M.2 (with scant
    examples.)
    There's a special process to put the project in your
    repository (it isn't installed in the repository in
    the standard install,) the documentation in M.2
    (probably in M.0 too, AFAIK) that tells you how to do
    this (look for HTTP-DC in the online help.)
    I haven't done much with it yet, I've just installed
    it. If anybody out there has examples, that'd be
    great. I'll try to contribute more the moment I get a
    chance to explore it....
