Confirmation Links in ESS

Hi All,
We have configured ESS in our landscape.
In the Confirmation page of Address, we have the following three links :
Go to HR Self Services Homepage
Go to Main Menu
Return to Overview Page
But in the Confirmation page of W-4 Tax & Benefits Enrollment, there is only Return to Overview Page link. I want the other two links to appear in these Confirmation pages as well.
Can anyone help me in this? Where should I do the code level changes ?
Regards,
Adren

Hi Shikhil,
I do not have the Define Confirmation Links under SPRO. The ERP version is ERP 5.0
Any other alternatives for this problem ?

Adren

    Hi All,
I want to move the confirmation links from top to bottom. In all ess Services  confirmation pages the links are shown on the top , I wanted to move those links to bottom of the screen. Any suggestions on how to do that.

  • Urgent -Confirmation screen links in ESS in Webdynpro -ABAP

    Hi,
This is very urgent. I am doing one custome service in ESS in WEBDYNPRO ABAP.
In my custome service, I need to put ESS Links in confirmation page .
as GO TO ESS Home page
        GO PERSONAL INFORMATION HOME PAGE
        GO TO WORKLOCATION DETAILS
For this i created URL links but this is not working fine.
Can you provide any setting needs to be done in Webdynpro abap to place these confirmation links.

    Hi Chidipotu,
    You can consider:
    1. Using portal eventing (object based navigation/absolute/relative navigation) as this appears (to me) as you want to navigate to entirely different i-Views.
    2. If you are not portal integrated, you can consider placing LinktoAction UI elements in whose action handlers you can fire custom (outbound) plugs to load different views.
    HTH,
    Adithya
    PS:
IMO you can consider leaving out the "urgent" in the subject next time round, as the average response time on SDN is less than 30 mins anyway! (and has a miniscule probability of changing with such intended psychological expeditors!!)

  • ESS Leave Request Confirmation Link Issue

    Hi
We have implemented ESS/MSS on EP7-EC6.0 system. In Leave Request application once an employee submits a leave and clicks on the confirmation link "Request Further Absence" it takes back to the intial leave request screen. But a extra label "Valid For: " comes in between the Roadmap and CAP links. I need to remove it. That label comes only if we click on the confirmation link for requesting a leave. It doesnot appear if u click on Request for leave from overview page or subarea page or from detailed navigation pane. Please help me with the issue

  • Confirmation Link - IMG - Homepage Framework for ABAP WebDynrpo appl.

    Hi All
I am working on Confirmation Link under the SPRO -> Cross-Application Components ->Homepage Framework ->Services->Define links on confirmation page
This can be used to add a link to the confirmation page of the self-service application, my doubt is, is there any way to use this service for customized ABAP WebDynrpo application? i mean can we add a link to the ABAP WebDynrpo application, if yes how can i achieve this.
    Thanks and Regards
    Chaitanya.A

    Hi,
I have created a custom web dynpro ABAP app to update a Z Infotype. I have also added it to  the ESS Personal Info area page and all works well. We want this application to work EXACTLY as other delivered ESS apps like address etc,, so we also want confirmation links on the confirmation page.
I did go through SPRO through the path mentioned in the chain above and created an entry there ... but I have no CLUE as to how willl my web dynpro app use that information ... I am not too experienced with the Portal, just know how to create i-views, and add them to worksets and do a bit of customizing to make them appear on appropriate area page. Any help, or tutorial link or procedure to do this would be helpful. precisely i am confused on the following points:
    1. Do i need to add LinkToAction UI elements on the final view or not ?
    2. How does the portal come to know which view in my app is the final confirmation view.
    3. Do i need to code anything in the web dynpro app to read the customizing info and display the links?
    4. How does the location gets determined where the confirmation links will appear.
I am for the time being using navigation links in my web dynpro abap application. But when I Navigate to a portal page, the portal desktop theme goes for a toss. So i want to see if confirmation links make any difference.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • How to configure a custom link in ESS for LTA?

I have a requirement to display a pop-up alv report, once user click on a link "Leave_Details" in ESS. I am able to display pop-up alv but background screen is empty as its a separate WD application however I want that as soon as user selects any row from that popup alv it should be fetched and displayed on the LTA screen of Portal. It seems link is not configured so its displaying blank background screen while for other standard links this screen is displayed.
Kindly help in this how we can display a custom link in ESS and after fetching any single record it should be closed and single row would be displayed in LTA screen.
Here the background ESS screen is blank for custom link displaying this pop-up alv.
For other standard links ESS screen is displaying.

    Hi Samuli,
Thanks for your reply however here I am not asking how to create popup, it has already created however my question is, how to configure the link used to display that popup alv?
As shown in the screen as soon as user clicks on the given link shown in below screenshot  this popup is displayed,
and after clicking on this link, below screen is displayed
Here background screen is empty whereas it should display the ESS screen in the background, so as soon as user select any row from the popup alv, i'll pass the data into ESS screen using BADI.
    Kindly revert with possible solution.

  • Confirmation screen accessed by email with a confirmation link

    Hi,
I have an application with 2 pages.
Page 1 is a new employee form. (used by any employee)
Page 2 is a form to confirm the data from Page 1. (used by HR)
I want HR to be notified by email when they have to confirm a new employee. I want something similar to the email Oracle sends me when my workspace on apex.oracle.com is idle for too long. (shame on me if this happen! :P)
    example:
To prevent your workspace from being removed, please go to the Web address below and confirm your account within the next 7 days. Remember that you can always sign up for a new workspace in the future, should you not wish to confirm your existing one at this time.
    Confirmation Link: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=41472:1:::::P1_SGID,P1_RID:3498619315552842220,79315112795249266565410311893274685909
    Thank you,
    The Oracle Application Express Team
In this email, we have a link to the application 41472. We go to page 1 and put values inside P1_SGID and P1_RID.
P1_SGID : I think this is a Security Group ID
    P1_RID : I have no idea what's this ID
I need more information about those IDs and how do I generate them. I don't need to put an expiration date on the link (ex.: 7 days).
Currently, I send an email with the following link:
    Confirmation Link: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=100:2:::::P2_FORM_ID:15165
The user needs to login and if he is someone from HR, he can access the form. I'd like to pass a "security id" so the user doesn't need to log to confirm a form.
    Help is welcome! :)

    Louis-Guillaume,
The random number is no different than a password, except that it's probably stronger than most. If you need to mix it up a bit, you can apply some sort of hash function to it.
Also, to mitigate a brute force attack, you can require an additional parameter so that the pair has to match. So, for instance, User Name. Then, you can expire the "key" if someone tries more than three invalid strings for a specific user name. Sure, you also lock out the legitimate user this way, but at least you kept out the bad guys.
Security is a combination of what you're protecting, who you're protecting it from, and what are the repercussions if the data is in fact, compromised. Using that forumula, you should be able to determine whether a single value is sufficient or if you need to apply additional constraints.
    Thanks,

  • How to setup benefit confirmation form in ESS?

    Hello experts,
Would you please share your note on how to setup the benefit enrollment and confirmation forms from ESS side.
We have the form and the relevant configuration in view  V_T74HL. Not sure how to do from ESS side. Does the ESS
calls the same form or we have to create a new? Moreover, what happens when we make changes in the forms on SAP
side, do we have to duplicate the changes on ESS side as well.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

  • Issue with Open Enrolment Link in ESS - Benefits

    Hi Experts,
We are facing two issues with open Enrolment Link in ESS for benefits, Need your help in resolving this. Please find the details below :
    1.       Benefits cost is not appearing in open enrolment Screen
Details : Monthly Contribution cost is not appearing against the Benefits Plan for which employees are already enrolled in Open Enrolment Screen, Because of this employees are not able see previous contribution before deciding on contribution amount for next Financial Year.
    2.       URL for Benefits plan Gets disappeared in Open enrolment Screen
Details : When Contribution is removed for any Benefits Plan the corresponding URL link disappears, But this comes up when the page is refreshed.
Could you please let us know if this is related to missing configuration or Java webdynpro code.
Our Live system is ECC6.0 SP level A4 , Please let me know if you need more details.Looking forward for your response.
    Regards,
    Shilpa

In regards to your first question, it could be a date issue for the infotype record.  If the records for open enrollment are set to be effective for a future date, and the current record is delimited, then you won't see it in the open enrollment screen. This is true for benefits like a flex account because they have to be re-elected every plan year.
Let's say that any elections made in the current open enrollment period you are in take effect June 1, 2014.  If the current record has an end date before June 1, then in the enrollment screen the employee will not see the current record because SAP is looking at June 1.
Take a look at the employee's record and at the benefit you want them to see and see what the end date is for the most recent record.

  • Need to Add Help links to ESS pages

    Hello,
I have a requirement to add helps links to ESS services like address etc.
The services have the roadmap element. Is it possible to add the link besides the roadmap element and right aligned?
Which component should the link be added to?
Is it possible that all the personal info services will have the link pointing to respective URLs?
I figured that I might have to change the sap.compcui_gpxssutils DC. Am I right?
But here I face a problem, that the DC is not modifiable in the DTR.
Please let me know your suggestions.
    Thanks and regards,
    Mayuresh

    Hi,
In Homepage Framework for ESS, there is a help service with every service. Check if this will help you.
You can create a service as a help service. EIC_SERVICE_REQUEST is an example of help service provided by SAP. Then you can configure this help service to any service you want. This way you can provide access to help informationm without changing the code.
To create your own help service, you can upload the help documents(say HTML) in portal KM repository. Create a KM document iView for the document. Create a page out of the iView and configure the PCD path of the page in the Hompageframework service.

  • Confirmation link in registered users in Portals

    Hello,
I am in the process of implementing External Portals and i would like to have a confirmation link within the email that users get when they have created themselves in Portals. So it is not possible to log into portals with a wrong  email address.
Does anyone know how that is done?
    Thanks,
    Lisa

Lisa, would you be using the standard registration page or have you developed a custom page for this.
The requirement you have stated cannot be achieved out of the box and you will need to do custom development for this. Depending on your datasource you can have a registration form which asks for the users email address and then trigger an email along with a random code which you send to the email address entered and also save it in your database. Later when the user clicks on the confirmation page read the user paramaters and get the email address and confirmation code. Verfiy these details against the details in your datastore and then permit the user access.
Not sure if this is possible to achieve with the custom registration module since you wont be able to access the sap tables. But you can use a temp database in between and when confirm create the user in portal ume.
    Thanks,
    GLM

  • Update emial address with confirmation link

    Hi,
I am using registration process like this one, described at Mr Schenk web:
    http://www.guenter-schenk.com/tutorials/tutorial.php?id=1
There is e-mail adress, used in registration process  to activate account  by clicking a link.
I am going to give  a possibility to change(update) that email address in user profile but in safe way. For example with additional  password checking and email sending to the new address with confirmation  link which should by clicked to make change.
Is there any simple method implemented in Developer Toolbox? Maybe I should use 'send email' trigger with content which include earlier preapered url (confirmation link) ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Heya,
Use an insert record form with send email trigger. I would have another db table for "new address" with fields for user_id(foreign key based off session variable), new_email, random_key, email_confirmed that passes users id and new_email to the table and generates a random key. Then send email SB to new address. In content of send email have a generated URL of confirmation_page.php?URL parameter of random key&URL parameter of new_email&URL parameter for user_id.
In confirmation_page have MySQL update "new address" table for email_confirmed field where URL parameter for random key && URL parameter for new_email == table fields in "new address" database. Have it write over any other record in the table based off query where user_id in table == user_id from URL parameter && URL parameter random_key && new_email so any "old, new email addresses" for the user will be overwritten in the database. Then place a MySQL update table where email_confirmed is set on "new address" table to update "users" table for new email address based on foreign key user_id.
This is not really something that is entirely available out of box from ADDT. You would have to use a combination of insert record SB+send email+ MySQL hand coding. The explanation should give you enough to go on if you know some code.
    Good luck!

  • First I tried to download Firefox 4 and was refused permission. Then I posted to this forum and received a confirmation link by e-mail, but the link failed.

I downloaded Firefox 4, but when I tried to move it into the Applications folder, I was refused permission. I tried to post this problem to this forum and received a confirmation link by e-mail, but it failed: I got the message "Something is wrong."

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions to update then easiest is to trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
