Confirmation on Apple vs VZW price difference.

I received this just a moment ago regarding my interaction with a Verizon Representative over the past week. To give him full credit I will say that he indeed went out of his way to research and confirm the information. I shall copy and paste the info I received and remove our names:
Dear XXXX XXXX,
This is XXXX again, and I am following up as promised after finding more details regarding the price difference you have mentioned.
I found that both Apple and Verizon Headquarters made a business decision to sell the iPhone 4 at different prices for full retail purchases.  This information is currently being worked on to be loaded in the Q&A portion of our www.verizonwireless.com/iphone website.  Based on this information, you will need to purchase the iPhone 4 at full retail cost through Apple in order to receive the difference in cost at this time.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
XXXX, I am glad to be able to provide an answer to your price difference question and inform you both companies made a business decision to offer the iPhone 4 at different prices.  We understand you have a choice when it comes to wireless service and appreciate your loyalty to Verizon Wireless since 2001!
Sincerely,
XXXX

Huh, that's weird. I'm discount upgrade eligible but if I weren't, that would be mighty frustrating. I feel for those of you that are not discount eligible... I guess that would be enough for me to wait and buy direct from Apple, however or whenever Apple is selling phones (too much misinformation out there on this subject and don't want to open another debate).

  • Price Difference in Sub contracting

    Hi all,
I have a question on price difference on sub-contracting.  The issue is, there is a sub contracting PO for Rs.100 for 10 units.  GR is done for 100 units.  Before the IR is done, there is a change in the PO price to Rs.60.  Further of the 10 units which was received, 6 units have been issued out.  Now the stock in hand is only 4 units.  As there is a price change, the difference in the price to the extent of the stock availability is posted to Stock account  (40/10*4 = 16) and the balance of price difference (for non-availability of stock) *shoud  be*  posted to price difference account.
Wanted to confirm  from where is the price difference account is picked up for sub contract?  Whether it is the GL account given in PRD or FRL in OBYC settings.
Also please throw light on how to stop the changing the price after GR and before IR.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Narasimhan.J

    Hi Kishore,
Thanks for replying.  Yes, we use MAP only.
I  created a test scenario and changed the GL accounts at Transaction FRL - External activitiy in OBYC settings and could see that the GL account specified in the FRL is picked up to post the price difference.
To the extent of stock availablility it is posted to the FG account and  rest is posted to the GL account  specified in Transaction FRL in OBYC setting.

  • I bought the new ipad in Brea Apple store in Oct 1st. I  know it is out of return date, but I have bought it only for 24 days. Can I exchange the ipad with retina or give me the $100 price difference?

I  bought the new ipad in Brea Apple store in Oct 1st.  I know it is  only 15days to return or refund.  but I  have bought the new ipad only for 24 days, and now  it
devalueted $100.  I  can't accept this fact. Therefore, can I  exchange my ipad ? or  give me the 100$  price difference ?
thanks   BTW  Do you have any Chinese customer services, I think I  can contact you more convenient with Chinese.

Please be aware that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. The only people who will reply to your posts are your fellow users.
You would need to talk to the Apple Store from which you purchased the iPad. Apple's official return policy is 14 days, though it's been reported that the manager of some Apple Stores have been waiving that limit.
I doubt very much that the Apple Store will have anyone who speaks Chinese, though of course you can ask.

  • Price difference of iWorks in app store and apple store

Hi there, I'm from Singapore and I'm a Macbook Pro user and I've been considering getting the Keynote, Pages and Numbers softwares. I've noticed that in the App Store, the price is listed as $19.99 for each individual app (for Singapore location), and I've noticed that the bundled package iWorks is priced at SGD$138. Is the App Store price in US Dollars? Why the price difference (apart from the packaging)?

As you dislike my English, I will use my main language : French.

  • Why is the price difference of apple products in different countries? For example in UAE price is different as compared to Germany?

Why is the price difference of apple products in different countries? For example in UAE price is different as compared to Germany?
MacBook Pro with retina price in US is USD1299 and same product price in Germany is 1299 Euro. Why???

Obviously all the answers up here are true.. but I think that was not the real meaning behind the question.
Every country has different currencies that not only convert differently to others but have a different and relative value for the inhabitants. For example although Forex says 1,3$ = 1€  for the average European and American 1$=1€.. that means that roughly inside your country what you buy inUS for 1$ you get in Europe for 1€ (ex: McDonalds hamburger).
Also each country has it's own taxes, different renting prices (for apple store), different VAT, etc...
But the real question is. Is Apple NEUTRAL to market conditions?
This means... does Apple adapt their margin on products to local conditions or not?
To make it simple... Let's say Apple ... everything considered... gets 100$ for an iPhone sold in US... Will Apple fix their price in other countries so that, after paying local taxes, local costs, etc... still.. for each iPhone they earn 100$ ??
Or they have different market strategies such as rising the prices in countries where people are richer and more likely to buy iPhones even if "overcharged"? Or on the other side.. do they lower prices in poor countries (obviously not under production cost) to help locals buy in Iphone?
I think that Apple is doing their best to stay neutral to the market.. that is... We want 100$ at the end of the day.. whatever...
So we have paradoxes because in some countries iPhone costs more while in these countries people earn less  (and I think this is not random.. but happens because.. usually.. countries with more regulations and taxes are also countries with lower wages... but that's politics!)
Here is a small comparison of iPhone 6 (16 Gb version) prices:
USA 550€........................ Average GDP per person  51.704 $  (calculated with California sales tax)
Switzerland 629 €............ Average GDP per person 44.864$
United Kingdom 687€....... Average GDP per person 36.569 $
Gerany 699€.................... Average GDP per person 38.666 $
France 709€................... Average GDP per person 35.295 $
    Italy 729€........................Average GDP per person 29.812 $
As you can see Apple seems not to care about living conditions in the country or about average wages etc.. they just have their price adjusted to local regulations and taxes. Europe has 2years warranty service for items sold in Apple Stores (and 1 for items sold in other stores where Apple is responsible only for the first year). We also have some other taxes... For example, here in Italy, we have a tax on hard drives (goes by the Gbyte) that affects any multimedia product. Tax is meant to finance artists whom you are supposedly "stealing" by having unauthorised copies on your portable device...  (I know.. is ridiculous). Etc...

  • Price difference on cancellation of production order confirmation

    Hi,
We are having a material which is maintained at price control "S". We have created a production order for the material. In due course of business, we did confirmation for say 100 pcs of the material. However, immediatly on confirmation, we realized that we do not need to do the confirmation & hence we did the cancellation of the production order confirmation using CO13.
On doing the production order confirmation cancellation, we observed that the system has posted some amount to "price difference account"
We also observed that once in a while this kind of entries do get posted.
It is requested to please let us know in why system is behaving this way?
We have checked SAP Note no 216080 "Price difference when reversing GI for S-Priced material" & SAP Note no 215980 'Price difference during GR for the production order". However we are not convinced that these could be the reason for the price difference.
    Thanking you in anticipation
    Regards
    Santosh Kumar Agarwal

    Hi,
Yes, you are correct in the understanding that the system creates quants in 914 when the production order confirmation is cancelled. But, it does not generate any TR or TO in the background to post the stock back into the original storage type.
Can we not use the put away strategies so that the system determines where to place the material? My query is that despite all the configurations for automatic TO creation and confirmation for movement type 262, it does not generate a TO (or TR) in the background when a production order confirmation is cancelled using CO13.
However, if I manually post a material using MB1A for 261 movement type and reverse it using 262, it generates a TO and confirms it as per the setting in configuration.
The same thing does not work when we run it through PP (CO11N and then CO13).
Any suggestions on how to approach this and where to check for missing configurations?
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Price Difference account when Creating Goods Return

    Hello experts,
    I got below case:
    1) Create a GRPO
    2) Created Landed Cost document
    3) Create a Goods Return (realized the lot number entered on the GRPO) was incorrect.
When I create the latter document, this impacts the Price Difference account for the same amount increased on the Landed Cost document?.
The Accrual Landed Cost account it is the one that should get hit.
Any suggestions? is this how it is suppose to behave?

  • 13" MBA price difference

Am I really reading the Apple site correctly and the $300 price difference between the two base 13" models is only due to a 128GB increase in SSD capacity? Please tell me there's something I'm missing here. That seems like a ridiculous premium for an additional 128GB of drive space, I don't care if it's an SSD or not.

Hmm, I was just reading the review of the 2012 MBAs on AnandTech and they say that the 256 & 512 SSDs perform better because they are guaranteed to use Samsung controllers which are apparently better...
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/6063/macbook-air-13inch-mid-2012-review/4
Still, seems hard to justify the additional $300.
Your comment seems to imply that the SSD in the MBA is user upgradeable. Setting aside the fact that would void the warranty, is it really?

  • The constitution of India (Full) app is shown as 170 rupees in the app store, but 280 rupees is deducted from my bank account.  Can anyone please confirm what is the actual prices of the app.

The constitution of India (Full) app is shown as 170 rupees in the app store. Today I bought the app and  280 rupees is deducted from my bank account.  Can anyone please confirm what is the actual price of the app.

It's listed in the store as 170. What shows on your email receipt and/or on your purchase history : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, if you click on that link your purchases should be listed with the most recent above the list.
And did you add or change the credit card details on your iTunes account when making the purchase ? If you have then each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.
    Store holding charge : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702
If you have been overcharged for the app then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Price difference account at the time of 122 movement

    Hi,
    PO qty 1000
    GRN 1000
    MIRO 1000
    credit Memo 1000
    122 material Doc 1000
( No change of price during thiese transaction through MR21 )
At the time of 122 document creation , the accounting entries are going in to price diff a/c instead of inventory a/c.
can any one confirm the resons behing a/c entries hiting price difff a/c.
    Rgds,
    Pradeep

    Hello,
I think While crdeit memo system will hit Price differe account, Please clarify how the Subsequent debit/Credit works.
Suppose you have ordered 100 kg of a material. The vendor invoiced you $1 a kg, being an invoice of $100.
After a while he notices that he should have invoiced you too much or not enough. He tells you he made a mistake and agrees with you he can send you an additional invoice/credit memo for the invoiced quantity with the price difference. This will be posted as a subsequent debit/credit.
The subsequent debit/credit is an additional invoice/credit memo where only a price difference is posted for a certain quantity without influencing the invoiced quantity in the system.
After the posting of the subsequent debit/credit, you still have 100 kg invoiced but for a unit price of $1 +/- the additional correction.
Suppose you have ordered 100 kg of a material. The vendor invoices you 105 kg. You don't agree. He should send you a credit memo for 5 kg.
With a regular credit memo, you'll end up changing the invoiced quantity.
After posting the credit memo you'll have an invoiced quantity of 105-5=100.
    In short:
    - a subsequent debit/credit will be visible in the system as an invoiced price difference for an existing invoiced quantity. The invoiced quantity is not touched. The quantity you enter during posting is to indicate to what quantity the price difference relates.
    - a credit memo is a correction of the invoiced quantity

  • "Price difference" being journaled to "Variance Account"

Per the online help in B1 8.8, the "Price Difference Account" in the G/L Account Determination: Inventory Tab window "price differences between the base and target documents are recorded in this account."
When I create a Purchase Order for an item, then copy to an A/P Invoice and change the price, the difference between the PO price and the Invoice price is posted to the "Variance Account", not the "Price Difference Account", per the documentation. I have confirmed that the description of the "Variance Account" function is happening correctly, that is, when the price differs from the standard cost the difference is posted to the "Variance Account".
    Can someone help with this?

    Gordon,
I only put the "Variance Account" here for reference. My issue relates to the "Price Difference Account". Rather than a difference in price from Purchasing documents going to the "Price Difference Account", it is going to the "Variance Account".
This should be what is commonly called "Invoice Price Variance". The "Variance Account" is used for what is commonly called the "Purchase Price Variance". It appears in 8.8 that both variances are going to the same account even though documentation implies differently.
The following exerpt from the online documentation is not how the system is working:
    "Price Difference Account
Used in purchasing transactions only. For certain scenarios, price differences between the base and target documents are recorded in this account."
To recreate this scenario (Invoice Price Variance),
    1) Put two different accounts in "Administration | Setup | Financials | G/L Account Determination" on the inventory tab under "Variance Account" and "Price Difference Account."
    2) Enter a Purchase Order for a Standard Cost Item enter a Qty of 1 and Price of $1,000.
    3) Copy the Purchase Order to an Invoice and change the price to $900.
The journal entry that is created includes a $100 entry to the "Variance Account" set up above.
The alternate variance (Purchase Price Variance) can be recreated as follows:
    1) Set the standard cost of an item to $1,000
    2) Enter a Purchase Order for the Standard Cost Item enter a Qty of 1 and Price of $900.
    3) Copy the Purchase Order to an Invoice and do not change the price.
The journal entry that is created includes a $100 entry to the "Variance Account" again.
These two scenarios should post to different accounts as described in the online help under G/L Account Determination.

  • IPhone versus iPod Touch, price differences COMPLAINT

hello, I am from belgium, and I am starting to wonder why I bought a iPhone 4, while 3 months later, the new iPod Touch comes out, and basically can do everything a iPhone can?
Here in Belgium the iPhone costs 639€ wich is I guess more then 650$, while for the new ipod touch, the price has been set at about 230$ if I'm right?
Could someone tell me WHY we are forced to pay roughly 400$ more just to have 3G and GPS?????
how is this even possible? should I have to live in the US to get regular prices for apple products?!

Tamara; I know this, but I do not understand a price difference of over 400$ for a extra chipset that offers 3G/Edge/GPRS & GPS. I know the ipod does not have it, and I know I am not forced to buy one over the other or any of them at all.
I'm actually very pleased with my product, but I do not understand how the price difference can be that high? The ONLY difference, is the addition of the chipset for cellphone usage!
The ipod even has the camera now ! ( and without the simcard, I don't think the ipod makes the user pay the additional 0,20 c that iPhone 4 users pay for one time activation - each time the iPhone is restored though - for facetime... )
I don't understand how 2 products with such small ( even though important ) differences can have a that price difference as well
