Hello experts,
I am successful in establishing XI to XI communication using XI adapter. Since with this, the message is posted directly into to pipeline of the 2nd XI instance, I wanted to make sure what all pipeline steps can be carried out there. My requirement is to do the structural mapping there in XI2.

I have been trying to use a case when structure inside a cursor in a stored procedure with regular expressions in it, but its throwing compilation error.
The error message does seem to be irrelevant.
Just want to know whether there is any limitation of using case when structure inside a stored procedure in a cursor.
If no limitation like that, then will try again to debug it.

Using confirmation requirement

Hello Folks!
I just like to confirm something about confirmation requirement.
1. Confirmation Requirement according to SAP library is :
"Confirmation Requirement
If confirmation is required, the quantity of material transferred into or out of the warehouse is not available for use until the transfer order or item has been confirmed.
You set the confirmation requirement using the WM customizing application."
I am unclear for the following reasons:
1. SAP course manual says :
"If there is no confirmation requirement, the system automatically confirms the quantities when you create the transfer order".
Part 1 :
This sounds like when using confirmation requirement, there is NO Automatic Confirmation of TO. So, how is it confirmed? Manually via another tcode by the pioker? What is the purpose for not using Automatic confirmation?
When is Confirmation Requirement activated?
Part 2:
What is meant by "...the system automatically confirms the quantities when you create the transfer order".
When you create a TO, its not yet printed. So, does this statement imply that the TO is also printed and picking is already done ?
Part 3:
If not fully picked , will the system still automatically confirm the quantities as fully picked?
Is "confirm the quantities" = confirm that quantities have been fully picked or there is picking done either fully or partially?

Manual vs WM system and Confirmation Requirement

I would like to clarify the following regarding confirmation requirement.
Am I right to say, in a WM scenario,
1. Confirmation can be activated or not activated with a flag. In a non-WM situation, where user also manually enter the picked quantity, confirmation requirement is Not applicable.
2. Confirmation Requirement is an Verification process to check how many is actually picked. If fully picked, user goes into DO screen and enters the picked quantity in the 'picking quantity' field and no change to the delivery quantity which is the order quantity. Then where confirmation requirement is activated, a user will confirm the TO via LT12 and this leads to the wm activity status set to C automatically.
3. If not fully picked, actual picked quantity is entered in picking quantity and delivery quantity is set to this same value. The picking status will still be shown as C, fully picked because the TO is saved. During confirmation, user enters the difference using the indicator and now PGI can happen as wm status is set to C for partially picked quantity. User will process the balance in separate steps. The Difference Indicator is based on comparing the Ordered Quantity with the Delivered (or Picked Qty?)
4. In a non-wm situation, wm activity status is disabled or not applicable. Only picking status is applicable. Once fully picked, this quantity is entered same as the delivery and order quantity, the picking status is set automatically to C. Now, the Goods Issue can be processed.

Requirement about transport tracking

I have this small requirement about transport tracking.
A transport might have lot of tables referenced. I need to find out, what is the difference, between the tables in one system, and the tables in another system, say between development system, and production system. Any leads on this would be helpful. Thanks for the help in advance.

Confirmation requirement

I like to confirm that 'confirm the quantities' means picked qty = required qty , as in fully picked?
and that means as long as picked qty not equal to the ordered qty, the TO is not or cannot be confirmed.
I am asking because a SAP Library content has it that "You process differences when you confirm a transfer order. This results in the update of the stock levels in WM. Afterwards, you need to clear the WM differences in the IM component."
From the above, seems like confirming a TO is a process and the result of this process can be fully picked or partially picked or not picked. So, does this mean to confirm a TO does not mean it is confirmed?

If a TO is not confirmed but partially picked , what status is the TO having?
If picking was attempted but picked qty = 0, is there a status for this?

To finalise, when confirmation requirement is configured, when a TO is created, it is immediately and automatically confirmed as Fully Confirmed or 'confirmed' as in a either full or partial quantity picked?
If TO is automatically set to fully picked and fully confirmed, then this is strange to me because, in real life, a TO may not be confirmed immediately or due to some reasons.

Some general questions about Sun Java Communications Suite

Hello Everybody,
We are a small group of individuals (2 Java developers and 1 Linux expert and Web Application developer), located in Germany.
We are fully new to �Solaris� and Sun Java Communications Suite and know, that it�s a highly professional software system for large scale deployment. However we plan to install (64 Bit version) and manage it in a small network environment, consisting of a Server (4 GB RAM, RAID 5, AMD Dual CPU) based on Solaris 10 (X86) and *20* clients based on Win XP, Solaris and Linux.
It�s a network of a non-profit organization, providing social services to local society.
At clients we will use the Communications Express and the needed services are: Calander, Mail and Address book. (no need of Outlook Connector, Instant Messaging, Document Management, etc.)
Our long-term aim is - after learning of professional architecting, deployment and management of Communications Suite - to provide integration and development services to organizations (schools and small / medium sized Business) and public in cooperation with ISP or infrastructure-providers like Sun Microsystems.
Now, our main questions are:
*1.-* Is the Server phy. recourse enough to deliver the mentioned services of Communication Suite to 20 clients without problems?
*2.-* Isn�t Communications Suite oversized for such small network mentioned above or better, if we use another collaboration software system like Opengroupeware (http://opengroupware.org/) ? Opengroupeware is developed using non-java lang and therefore doesn�t match our strategy.
*3.-* Does the Communications Suite download-pack includes all necessary components of Sun Java ES (Directory Server, Access Manager, etc.) or these components are to be downloaded separately?
*4.-* What is the difference between the Sun Java System Messaging Server and the Sun Java System Message Queue?

1> I believe your hardware can support 20 users (you might need to tune the Web Server heap size) - I had a Sparc 2x450mhz w/ 2GB of ram supporting 50+ users quite comfortably - with roughly half using POP and the other half IMAP/webmail. Ideally though, for best performance you would want to break up the main servers (LDAP, WEB, and MS) between hosts) - probably not necessary for 20 users. Having all on one machine simplifies things too (but also makes it a single-point-of-failure). Your disk obviously is important, the faster the better - that it's redundant is also nice - larger deployments might use much fancier storage systems to provide speed and redundancy, and use an the App Server instead of the Web Server as a container for Comms Express.
2> I don't think it's "oversized" - might you mean overkill? In this case I don't think overkill is a bad thing. Why not have very capable software, even if you don't really need it -is how I see things.
3> I believe you get all you need in the download. Though I've never tried the 64bit version (which I am guessing is only really necessary for larger deployments where you want to obtain maximized performance for heavier loads). I recommend following the single host evaluation document to get the hang of the install.
4> I'm not sure - though the Messaging install I believe requires the MQueue stuff, I think it's sort of an API for messaging, also available separately, but used by JES Messaging system?

BADI confirmation required.

Can u please help me with the below requirement how i should proceed.
u2022Trigger a packing instruction IDoc from ECC to MII whenever the packing instructions are created/changed in ECC via t-code POP1/POP2.
As per my R&D, i found that BAdi- PL_PACK_INSTR_BADI will be implemented in POP1/POP2 t-code to trigger the packing instruction IDOC. This BAdi will be triggered after the packing instruction is created/changed in ECC.
I will trigger a idoc if the packing inst are created/changed in ECC to MII.
u2022Trigger a packing instructions IDoc from ECC to MII whenever a new or existing material with packing instructions are extended to an MII enabled plant in ECC via t-code MM01.
As per my R&D, i found that BAdi- BADI_MATERIAL_REF(not sure) will be implemented in MM01 t-code to trigger the packing instruction IDOC. This BAdi will be triggered when a material with the packing instruction is extended to MII enabled plant.
I will trigger a idoc if the packing inst are created/changed in ECC to MII.
Just want to confirm from experts, whether the BADI's found can be implemented or not for material with packing instructions.

SP level looks good but kernel looks pretty old , you can plan for a kernel upgrade.

You should think about upgrading to ECC 6.0 and also implementing Solution Manager.
