Conflict between ActiveX from LabVIEW and Measurement Studio?

We're small software company from Poland. We're developing our product
(SCADA/HMI and integration system heavily based upon Measurement Studio
graphic controls) in C++ for Win32 environment (MSVC 2003 Edition C++
Compiler). Today we ran into serious problem: our client, one of the
biggest Polish companies that sell automation software and hardware, is
evaluating our product. Company staff members are using LabVIEW, too
and have various version of LabVIEW installed on their PCs. It turned
out that our program displays message that license is needed for
Measurement Studio ActiveX controls, and crashes, when ran on PC with
LabVIEW installed! (This one has LabVIEW 6.1, 7.0, 7.1 simultaneously
installed).
While I gues that crash is not Measurement Studio's fault (I guess that
control fails to create and throws exception which is not catched by
our code...we'll fix that) I'm pretty sure that this "license" stuff
is. Of course we have legal version of Measurement Studio 7.1, and all
controls used in our software have their respective licenses generated
and compiled into application (we create all controls dynamically). We
have never run into such problem before, and we're using Measurement
Studio for years...please help.
Some additional details: control that failed is CWBoolean in "3D Diode"
configuration. Other controls, including CWBoolean in another
configurations seem to work OK, at least I was told so (it's pity that
I don't have faulty configuratio here...will try to reproduce it using
some kind of LabVIEW evaluation version).

Hi Michal,
This is actually an error message that is usually fixed pretty simply by using our License Fixer. Sometimes the licenses for the ActiveX controls can become broken in Measurement Studio. This usually happens if you install drivers after installing Measurement Studio or a program created using Measurement Studio. You can find the License Fixer here. Try this out and let us know if you still have any trouble.

Thank you. Yes that resolves the conflict but leaves some missing references like the "Composition"
reference above. I was able to get past that by adding System.ComponentModel.Composition. This is after installing the VS 2013 update 4 build.
Now I get the following. I'm concerned that I'm taking references from both Lightswitch and Silverlight
sdk's just to get it to build. These references are required because of the auto generated code. I must have something quirked. Anyway what about System.Data.Common.DbConnection? How can I get it without
referencing System.Data?

A conflict between program Mac mail and program Microsoft Outlook e-mail?
For several months tried to discuss and resolve with several Apple specialists/support, but without much luck.
Therefore I have discussed these issues with 2 different and independent Mac users to find out in testing other Mac users will have the same problems as outlined in the below mentioned situations.
I will therefore outline the coverage issues, as mentioned, including occurs on my iMac 21.5 " with serial number: <Edited by Host> and 2 friends with their Macbooks of new dates as follows:
1. Sending from my Mac plain mail as "plain text "(during formatting):
Plain text mail as "Plain Text "(during formatting) Verdana font size 10, sent and received on Windows PC with the correct letter size - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
2. Sending from my Mac plain mail "formatted text" (during formatting):
Eg. with my signature/signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text dispatched - the mail received as text with New Times Roman size 12 and signing /signature color Verdana now in size 13.5!!!!
3. Sending plain mail "as normal text "(during formatting)
In the mail text underlined and made bold - the program asks whether to convert to RTF format (to keep underlining, bold, etc.) and Verdana as font and size 10, YES - this mail is received on the Windows PC as text with New Times Roman with the desired underlining and bold text and size 12!!!!
4. Plain text mail as "formatted Text"
Eg. with signature / signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text sent - received as text with New Times Roman and signing / signature as colored Verdana now in size 13.5!!!
5. Sending mail with file attached:
After producing a normal text document modified to PDF and directly from the Adobe Reader sent this PDF file in e-mail formatted as normal text with font Verdana 10 point, with signature. This is received on the Windows PC with a PDF file OK, but the font of the mail text is changed to Century Gothic and missing signature. Signature is available as an attachment on the Windows Outlook e-mail program as a ATT00113.text file. This can be opened and there is the missing signature!
6. Sending e-mail with photos directly from iPhoto
iPhoto opens and click on the desired photos eg. 5 pcs. (Exactly as mentioned in the demo video!) and click on the e-mail icon at iPhoto and the program opens and e-mail that is opened with the attached photos and rich text is being used in the mail. Signature disappears and must be clicked on the mail by the sender.
The mail is received with the attached pictures OK - text changed to Times Roman with the desired bold - though no signature and 5 pcs. Att0028.html files attached. These can be opened and contains the file number each picture!
The above problems can be partly avoided by the following:
1. Only send mails as plain text
Without any underlining, attachments, etc.. When the Windows PC Outlook receiver opens the mail where only the text fond is changed!!
2. Sending mail with attached file
Start opening the mail program and use formatted plain text first and then attach (with the staple) file, and the Window receiver will get the file, but text and signature changed to Times New Roman size 13!!
3. Sending mail with photos from iPhoto
Start by opening mail program text in Verdana 10 and click the Photo Browser and find (look for - takes its time!) the pictures you want to send and pull/drag them into the mail and send, - images, text and signature are in the mail on Windows PC - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
If sent as formatted text with various underlining, italics, etc. together with the photos will be received OK - but the writing is now New Times Roman size 12 signatures Verdana now in size 13!!!
I must say – I am disappointed with the Mac mail program – it actually means that sending a perfect mail with underlining, colours, a.s.o. also photos directly from iPhoto – will received at a Windows computer in a totally mess.
Looking forward to some good news from either Mac supporter or some clever Mac users who can help me to adjust my Mac to avoid these problems IF POSSIBLE!!!!.
Apple/Mac is too good a product to make these problems!!

The PC sets the font on its side, the Mac does on its side for plain text. There is no "font size" in plain text coding. Rich Text gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. HTML gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. Use the asterisk, parenthesis, underscore, or any keyboard symbol that is part of the original ASCII. Otherwise, the chance is nobody else will be able to read it who does not have your e-mail client in the same version.
Sadly there are no e-mail standards except MIME for attachment, and even that isn't universally supported. E-mail is not the ideal medium for anything except plain text that is ASCII. To learn more about ASCII, see:

Missing user folder from Workspace and FR studio

Hi All,
Recently we upgraded the workspace and applications... Initially there were all the folders, but i noticed that user folder from workspace and FR studio was missing... If anyone have come across this issue please let me know how to solve it.

Just to make sure I understand. When you double click the hard drive icon either in the sidebar or on your desktop (if you have it shown there) there is no users folder shown? If that is the case then it must somehow have become invisible. If there was in actuality no user folder at all your Mac would not boot.
If that is the case then you may have to use the terminal to get it back. I can't help you with that though, sorry. Another possibility is that there is some sort of corruption in a cache file. You could use a tool such as YASU or others to do a light cache cleaning which may solve the problem.

How to measure current and resistance if i only have DAQ using VB 6 and Measurement Studio

I want to do a remote lab for basic electronic lab. One of the task is to measure current and resistance. How to do it if I only have DAQ card and using Visual Basic 6 and Measurement Studio. Can anyone give me a clue.

If your DAQ device is supported by DAQmx, you can use it with VB6. Here's how: NI-DAQmx Support in Visual Basic 6.0.

Whats the difference between executing a package from SQL and Visual Studio?

Hi,
We have a package that is currently failing to run when deployed to SQL. This has been tried from a schedule and also executed manually both are failing.
I have tried from Visual studio running on various machines (windows 8, server 2012) and in all cases run perfectly.
I am trying to understand the differences between deploying to SQL and running from VS so maybe I can figure out why this is happening.
I have the following errors when I run from SQL.
DTS_E_PROCESSINPUTFAILED - all errors like this point to the 'Sort' tasks in the script
dts_e_processinputerror not enough storage is available
I have tested in four environments and all fail from SQL but not from VS!
Last night I tried from my laptop and executed the package from SQL - it didn't fail but was still running in the morning so I terminated. Note this takes around 20 mins running from VS! why would it be so quick from VS but fail or take so long on SQL?
The test running at the moment is on a server with dynamic memory currently at 14GB. I decreased SQLs RAM to 4GB and it hasn't failed yet but has been running for two hours. Before changing this the package failed after a short time.
I thought it may have something to do with running from a virtual machine but doesn't explain why it couldn't run locally on my laptop.

I will try to address issues one by one
The error doesn't seems to be related to SSISDB configuration mode. It may be because of
Change in package definition (please confirm that the package which you are running on your laptop is the same on your msdb? - reload your SQL package from MSDB in BIDS/SSDT and recreate your source and destination components)
As your error message shows, "not enough memory available" (may be because of multicast) - Usually you can override this error by restarting SQL Server [not an optimal solution but it work & if that work it shows that your package fills
the memory - Keep an eye on task manager]
Make sure that your statics on table are updated [run EXEC sp_updatestastics]
Make sure your indexes are not de-fragmented [run rebuild indexes]
If you are dealing with many rows may be 40000 * 12 (because of multicast) = 4,800,000 rows the try to separate package.
Check your excel file format/column data type is correct
Check user permission who is running the job has required permission on folder/file.
Understand that sort is a blocking transformation and it requires all your data in memory before it sorts. so, if there are large number of rows then your complete memory will be occupied.
Difference between Visual Studio & BIDS/SSDT
Nothing much, other than BIDS runs on 32 bit while jobs on 64 bit (but there run time environment are configurable, though)
There shouldn't be any performance difference until your
package is on network location because transferring data to the network may slow the package. If package runs on SQL Server it uses SQL buffer pool to fetch data via SQL statement and then SSIS works on its own memory allotment.

Conflict between Client object model and Item Updated Event Receiver in sharepoint 2010

As per my requirement I have a two custom list.
Agent Details
Port Name
Agent Details contains Agent code, Port Name, email, address and phone of Agent. Its possible that one Agent Code is connected with multiple Port Name.
Basically what I am doing is I am getting port name connected with Agent code, using jquery and bind those values with check box(using javascript created dynamically) and bind all with Div tag.
Now when my custom edit form of Agent list open up it shows me different port name binding with checkbox group.
when user select the check box and click confirm button my clicent object model script will run and add this selected value into Port Name list.
After confirm one more button named Save will enable asking user to edit the email, phone or address value and when I click on save my Item updated event fires which update the values of the selected port name(These port name I am getting from port
name list) to Agent Details custom list.
Now when I am trying to update the values my event receiver fires or some times it got stuck(not firing). So could you please help me the possible alternative for this requirements.
Can we user the Ecma Script(Client object model to preserve the value of selectec port) and Item updated event receiver on the same time?
Is anything am doing wrong then please guide me.

As I understand, when you updated values in the agent details list the Item updated event receiver got stuck sometimes.
The item update event receiver will fire after the item has been saved, and the client object model script or the Ecma Script runs before the item is saved, so there is no conflict between the client object model script and item update event receiver.
You could find out the reason about the item update event receiver gets stuck by debugging the event receiver.
When you want to debug your event receivers, you have to attach to OWSTIMER.EXE and wait till they are executed. You can control this behavior using the Synchronization attribute. Also, if you’re looking for an easy way to debug an event receiver without
having to manually attach a debugger to your code, you can use the System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch() method.

Difference between Logic Pro 9 and Logic Studio?

I have garage band and I notice that the instruments available are extremely limited, so I am looking to upgrade solely for the idea of getting more instruments and more features. Does the app store Logic Pro 9 have the extensive amount of official instruments to download for free? Or are there additional costs if you are looking to purchase the instruments for the app store logic 9?
I know that the studio version has mainstage, compressor and other programs etc, but what I am looking to find out is if there is a difference between what instruments, resources and materials found in the $210 Logic 9 and the Logic Studio version that you can't download for free from inside Logic 9?

The instruments themselves are embedded within the Logic application, with the exception of the sample libraries for the EXS24 and Ultrabeat. All of the content, including the various Jampacks and sample libraries are available to download

The "Studio" DVD's include the now defunct Soundtrack Pro, which had around 20G of loops, beds and sound FX. Some of that material is now available for Final Cut X.
A few utility programs are also missing (Waveburner etc).

Frequency sweep with vb6 and measurement studio

hello! i hope you can help me with my problem
im using:
-PCI-MIO-16E-4 Daq-Card (at the moment, later i will get the PCI-6115 Daq-Card)
-Visual Basic 6.0 with Measurement Studio
my Problem: i want to stimulate a mechanical system with sine-waveforms of differernt frequencies, because i want to measure the resonance frequency of the mechanical system. For that i want the Daq-Card to output a sine waveform, the frequency should be swept from one frequency to an other frequency (i think the real values dont matter at the moment). The Problem is that the sine-waveform must not be interrupted when you change the frequency, because this would disturb the movement of the mechanical system.
I allready tried (without Measurement Studio) to use the fifo buffer (regeneration of thewaveform in the fifo) to be independent of the delays caused by the pc-system, but when i change the updaterate (change of the frequency) of the DAC there is again a dependence on the pc-system and the waveform goes to zero Volts for a while.
And i also tried to use the Chirp-Function (CWDSP.Chirp) of the measurement Studio, but with this function i have the problem, that i cant define how long the DAQ-Card outputs the actual frequency.

So that is possible, but it is a completely different approach than that mentioned above. You would have to use a continuous analog output program and change the output waveform. Check out the attached example. I modified a shipping example to do an analog output and increment the frequency of the output waveform.

Conflict between the saved data and the sampling rate and samples to read using PXI 6070e

Hello, I am using PXI 6070e to read an analog voltage. I was sampling at 6.6 MHz and the samples to read were 10. So, that means it should sample 10 points every 1.5 um. The x-axis of the graph on the control panel was showing ns and us scale, which I think because of the fast sampling and acquiring data. I use "write to measurement file" block to save the data. However, the data was saved every 0.4 second and as 35 points data at the beginning of each cycle (e.g. 35 points at 0.4 sec and 35 at 0.8 sec, and so on) and there was no data in between. Can anyone help me how there are 35 reading points every cycle? I could not find the relation between the sampling rate and samples to read, to 35 points every 0.4 second!
Another thing, do I need to add a filter after acquiring the data (after the DAQ assistant block)? Is there anti-aliasing filter is built in PXI 6070e?

I'm not seeing anything that points to this issue. Your DAQ is set to continuous acquire. I'm not sure if this is really what you want because your DAQ buffer will keep overwriting. You probably just want to set to Read N Samples.
I'm not a fan of using the express VIs. And since you are writing to a TDMS file, I would use the Stream to TDMS option in DAQmx. If you use the LabVIEW Example Finder, search for "TDMS Log" for a list of some good examples.

Binary file readed from Labview and Borland C++ v.5

Hi Everybody!
My problem is reading binary file from Labview 7.0 and Borland C++ version 5 is not the same.
Only one difference is "space". Reading from Labview I got "00" (decimal) and reading from Borland C++ I got "32".
I also try to read this binary file with Matlab 6 and I also got "00" as well as those from Labview.
I really struck with this problem.. Anybody has an idea about this problem.

I have a conflict between Firefox Version 5 and both Ebay and Fasthost Sitebuilder image uploads.

Since upgrading to version 5 of Firefox subscreens of ebay are not displaying, Fasthost Sitebuilder has stopped allowing the import of pictures and I am being logged out of secure sites before transactions are completed.

I encounter immediate problems on installing Firefox 5. There were 3 Windows 7 crashes and I could not access Firefox. It was determined that there was a conflict between the anti virus program and the 5 version. There is no download for the older version 4 was not available. After trying several fixes, nothing worked.
One post indicated that Mozilla was not fixing Firefox 5 and that the fixes were made in Firefox 6 version. Reluctantly, I upgraded to six and , to my amazement, it works again. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!! Hope it works for you.

I'm not a fan of "hiding" stuff from users so the not appearing in the menu part isn't a biggie for me. If you do need to give background auths for something but don't want it to appear in a menu then this will let you do it without adding manual auths or changing standard object values
Where I find it useful is that it allows you to assign & maintain indicators for stuff like Function Modules and Services. No real business advantage other than it makes your security implementation cleaner.

Workspace Credential Conflict between Logged-in User and the Authenticated User

I am running LiveCycle ES Update1 SP2 with Process Management component on WIN/JBoss/SQL Server 2005.
I have been encountering user credential conflicts from time to time, but it has not been consistent and the problem manifested in various ways, such as:
- problem when logging in with error "An error occurred retrieving tasks." on the login screen
- user logs in successfully but is showing somebody else queue(s) with his/her own queue with no task in there
- fails to claim task from group queue.
The stacktrace from the server.log file I collected from a production system shows the exception below.
Has anybody else encountered the similar problem?
It looks to me that it doesn't log out cleanly and some kind of caching is done on the authenticated session and is not cleaned up properly on user logout.

I am having the same server issue and i cant get hold of SP3 to fix it. can anyone tell me how to fix this problem or provided a link where i can get SP3 from? Ive spent most of the day on the phone to Adobe Support and they have been unable to provide me with a link to the service pack.
