Conflict Between Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and Power Drawers on Tecra M5

There seems to be a bug in TosBtShell.dll and I'm hoping this alert might get it repaired in a future revision. Maybe also it will save others the considerable effort it cost me to track down the problem on my new Tecra M5. I've had to abandon Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and now use the one in XP SP2.
When Bluetooth Manager is running, TosBtShell.dll puts the item 'to Bluetooth' next to 'Send To' in the context menu for files and folders. Unfortunately it conflicts with the shell enhancement software Power Drawers http://www.dynamickarma.com/powerdrawers.htm that I rely on to speed up access to my computer files. This software lets you right-click on a folder to display its contents in a list. You can then mouse to any folder in the list and that one also expands as a sub-list - and so on as deep as you like until you reach the folder or file that you want. Right-click an item in the cascade and you get a list of useful options. However if Bluetooth Manager is running when you do the right-click, Power Drawers crashes and you have to close and reopen explorer.exe to get it back.
The conflict stops if you remove 'to Bluetooth' from the context menu for files and folders. I proved this by using ShellExView from Nirsoft http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html to disable the Registry key 'Bluetooth File Extenstion' [sic]. This key is associated with C:\WINDOWS\system32\TosBtShell.dll and CLSID {6BEF3D0B-53F0-4b0d-B91C-C19ED3D4C9D1}. Unfortunately the Registry key comes back again whenever you restart Bluetooth Manager.
David Tong.

I forgot to say in my original posting that the problem still exists in the current version of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack that I downloaded on 6th July from the Bluetooth page.
R2D2, your 'recommendation' would be useful if the site showed in detail what bugs have been fixed. I tried the new version because, although there was no mention of a fix for context menu issues, it does mention that "minor bug-fixes" have been made. I discovered the hard way that these fixes do not deal with the issue I described.
My experience with new Toshiba laptops over the past 15 years is that the update documentation seldom states clearly enough what has changed when new software versions appear. Yet such information could save users a lot of time.
Changing the Bluetooth stack from Microsoft to Toshiba and back is not a five-minute task.
But it seems that the MS Bluettooth stack works with Power Drawers

  • Microsoft Wireless Presenter 8000 mouse and Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

Some of the specific functionalities of this MS Bluetooth Mouse do not work with the latest Toshiba Bluetooth Stack : magnifier, digital ink...
The other functions of this mouse (and the remote controller functions too) work perfectly. The magnifier, digital ink, etc..., are working only if the MS USB controller provided with this bluetooth mouse is plugged in.
Many hardware sites and forums are talking about this problem, ie at the end of this page : http://www.hardware-pacers.com/pages.php?catType=r&pid=352&id=968&pageX=on
Is there a chance to have these functions (magnifier, digital ink...) working with a future release of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack ? Any idea of a delay ? Or any idea of a tip to have this working today ?

Of course : I have installed the latest version of IntelliPoint software. A mouse/remote as sophisticated as the Wireless Presenter 8000 can't work without its software.
But one more time, I speak about a Bluetooth MS Mouse, and what I don't understand is that a few funtionnalities (magnifier, digital ink) only works with the MS USB plug delivered with the mouse.
What I'd like is to use ALL the functionnalities of my bluetooth mouse with only the bluetooth adapter integrated into my Toshiba Libretto U100.

  • Bluetooth not working even after reinstalling Bluetooth Stack and Monitor

I have a Satellite L70-A PSKNAU-06N06W which was U.S. custom ordered with bluetooh installed. It worked fine for 4 months then stopped. OS is Win7. After reading the boards I downloaded:
Toshiba Bluetooth Stack for Windows, 9.00.03T
       tc00442200e.exe
       Bluetooth Monitor, 4.08
       tc00299500g.exe
It still doesn't work.Bluetooth Settings says "Bluetooth is not ready" and Bluetooth Assistant says "Autosearch has stopped because Bluetooth power is turned off."
In Device Manager under Bluetooth, Bluetooth V4.0 Module(WB335) and Bluetooth RFComm both have the yellow triangle flags. When I Update Driver Software-Browse  my computer- Windows tells me the driver is up to date. When I ask the updater to search automatically it says either that or that the software is corrupted and to contact the manufacturer.
I would appreciate any advice to solve this problem, thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

In Device Manager, look under Network adapters.
If you cannot identify the Bluetooth there, then check the wireless. Assume it's the same.

  • How to manually uninstall the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack?

Hey there, I have a problem with the uninstallation of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack v4.00.20 on my Windows XP SP2 notebook. Whenever I choose to remove the "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" (and "Bluetooth HID Switch Service") the installer starts preparing but hangs after a short while - the only way to continue is to power the notebook off. :(
The same happens when I try to update the stack to the latest version - the installer says that the old stack has to be removed first and hangs after trying to remove it. So is there a way to remove it by hand? I really don't want to reinstall Windows because of that.
The reason why I want to uninstall/update the stack is because my Jabra BT620s headset doesn't work with it. I can connect it and use it as earphones (the music quality is pretty good) but I cannot use the built-in microphone. This works with the Widcomm stack but with this one I have quality issues.
    Thanks in advance.

If only your headphone works and not your headset then you have most likely not configured the headset profile. Use the "Custom Mode" of Bluetooth settings and setup also HFP (or HSP if HSP does not exist) then it should work.

  • Toshiba Bluetooth Stack software - Microsoft Office - Problems

    :_| Dear all,
I use a Bluetooth USB dongle to transfer data between my PC and my cellular.
Since installing the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack software (First I used the 5.0 and later upgrading to the latest 6.10.10) I'm having problems with Microsoft Office.
When I try to double click any office document (Word Excel etc.) It takes almost 30 seconds for the Word software to open and then additinal 30 seconds for the office document to open in the software -> almost 60 seconds!!
But when I'm opening the office software from the Strat-Programs-Microsoft Word menu it is opened in nearly 2 seconds!! Nevertheless, while the office is _opened_:
    1. When opening a document threw the File-Open menu it again takes 30 seconds for the document to open.
    2. When trying to open any office document (while the office is open) threw the Windows Explorer it again takes 30 seconds.
Now, I'm writing in Toshiba forum because when I cancel the Bluetooth manager from the _msconfig_ utility and restart, again the PC and Office is working percfectly.
    Please help
    PS
I'm using Windows XP Home SP3

    Dear sir,
Thank you so much for your answer.
However, I'm alredy using the latest Nokia PC Suite which is 7.0.9.2
What do you think now? how can I progress?
Is it the Toshiba software? Is it Nokia software?
    Thanks,
    Danny
    PS
Of course my Windows XP Home is fully "Windows Update".

  • TOSHIBA Bluetooth stack SDK - How to obtain?

    Hi all.
I am SW engineer. I have a question regarding to TOSHIBA Bluetooth stack SDK:
We use Edimax Bluetooth V2.0 Class-2 USB Adapter for our devices. This adapter is supplied with Toshiba Bluetooth stack. We want to be able to perform operations such as blue tooth devices recognition, virtual bt COM port assigning, connecting, transmission intensity measuring programmatically. Thus we need Toshiba Bluetooth stack SDK.
How can I obtain the TOSHIBA Bluetooth stack SDK?
    Thank you for advance.

    Hi
Maybe the guys need a little bit time
It seems that the contact form on the Toshiba Bluetooth page is the right and only way to obtain the TOSHIBA Bluetooth stack SDK

  • Toshiba Bluetooth Stack vs Microsoft Bluetooth Stack

Which Bluetooth stack is better and more reliable for Toshiba Qosmio G20-127, in your opinion Microsoft Bluetooth Stack (which comes in XP Service Pack 2), or, the native Toshiba Bluetooth Stack 4.00.23?

I have 2 PCs desktop and notebook. My desktop PC has an HP DeskJet 690C printer, which is physically connected using the cable and LPT port. I am using Widcomm 5.01.1200 Bluetooth drivers for my desktop PC and Toshiba Bluetooth stack 4.00.30 for my notebook. Can I add a desktop PC printer for my notebook via Bluetooth? I would like to get a step-by-step tutorial about adding a printer. Both PCs are running on WinXP Pro SP2.
At this moment I am only able to browse the Internet from my notebook (using my desktop PC and bluetooth connection).

  • Trouble with Toshiba bluetooth stack

Hello, I'm having a trouble with toshiba bluetooth stack. I had windows vista installed in my laptop. I decided to upgrade to Windows 7. I had a bluetooth mouse attached to my toshiba bluetooth stack in windows vista. After upgrading to windows 7 my bluetooth mouse is not working any more and it is not listed in the devices list. But, when I switch my mouse on, the bluetooth stack icon tray turns green like when the device is connected, but it doesn't work and the device is still not listed. I'm trying to redetect it, but it is not detected. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the bluetooth stack, but in the reinstalation, my devices are still listed.
Anyone can help me or tell me how to remove manually all the attached devices? Thanks in advance.

It seems that the mouse has still stored the pairing information (normally it should loose it if the battery was removed).
The mouse tries to connect to the last connection, but the other side (PC) has not the information anymore.
Could you try to pair the mouse with any other PC or notebook before you try to pair it with your notebook again ?
Furthermore increase the security for this test by enabling the following option:
Right click Bluetooth system tray icon > Options > Security > Custom Level > Mode: Link level enforced security

  • Satellite Pro L500 - no licence for Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

Do hope someone can help me. I am going round in circles.
On 8th Nov 2010 I purchased online from Toshiba the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (Premium Edition) for my Toshiba Satellite Pro L500 so that I could use my existing (non-Toshiba) dongle. This has been working fine until a couple of months ago.
Thinking that the dongle had packed up I bought another one.
However, although I know that this one is working I have been unable to get this to work on my Toshiba laptop as I keep getting the following error message from the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack as follows:
"Thank you for evaluating the Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba. The evaluation period has now expired. Please obtain a license for this version of Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba."
This seems to imply I have come to the end of a free evaluation period but I haven't as I purchased the full license in 2010. I have tried various things but I can't seem to get past this. I'm not a computer boffin but I can reasonably find my way around a laptop. Can anyone please, please help me?

Hi there. Apologies for the delay in replying.
I did try reinstalling, but in then searching the Toshiba Bluetooth Portal under "news" (here is the link http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=news ) it says:
"2011-12-21 TOSHIBA Bluetooth Stack for users without TOSHIBA hardware isn't available anymore"
I'm taking that to mean I can only use a Toshiba bluetooth dongle for it to work. Assuming I am reading it right I am really unhappy about this as I paid 25.90 at the Toshiba Online Store just over 12 months ago for the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Premium Edition and have had no warning about this suddenly happening.
Have it got it right? Would really appreciate a reply.

  • Conflict between program Mac mail and program Microsoft Outlook e-mail???

Denmark, Kolding, 30th of September 2010
A conflict between program Mac mail and program Microsoft Outlook e-mail?
For several months tried to discuss and resolve with several Apple specialists/support, but without much luck.
Therefore I have discussed these issues with 2 different and independent Mac users to find out in testing other Mac users will have the same problems as outlined in the below mentioned situations.
I will therefore outline the coverage issues, as mentioned, including occurs on my iMac 21.5 " with serial number: <Edited by Host> and 2 friends with their Macbooks of new dates as follows:
    1. Sending from my Mac plain mail as "plain text "(during formatting):
Plain text mail as "Plain Text "(during formatting) Verdana font size 10, sent and received on Windows PC with the correct letter size - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
    2. Sending from my Mac plain mail "formatted text" (during formatting):
Eg. with my signature/signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text dispatched - the mail received as text with New Times Roman size 12 and signing /signature color Verdana now in size 13.5!!!!
    3. Sending plain mail "as normal text "(during formatting)
In the mail text underlined and made bold - the program asks whether to convert to RTF format (to keep underlining, bold, etc.) and Verdana as font and size 10, YES - this mail is received on the Windows PC as text with New Times Roman with the desired underlining and bold text and size 12!!!!
    4. Plain text mail as "formatted Text"
Eg. with signature / signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text sent - received as text with New Times Roman and signing / signature as colored Verdana now in size 13.5!!!
    5. Sending mail with file attached:
After producing a normal text document modified to PDF and directly from the Adobe Reader sent this PDF file in e-mail formatted as normal text with font Verdana 10 point, with signature. This is received on the Windows PC with a PDF file OK, but the font of the mail text is changed to Century Gothic and missing signature. Signature is available as an attachment on the Windows Outlook e-mail program as a ATT00113.text file. This can be opened and there is the missing signature!
    6. Sending e-mail with photos directly from iPhoto
iPhoto opens and click on the desired photos eg. 5 pcs. (Exactly as mentioned in the demo video!) and click on the e-mail icon at iPhoto and the program opens and e-mail that is opened with the attached photos and rich text is being used in the mail. Signature disappears and must be clicked on the mail by the sender.
The mail is received with the attached pictures OK - text changed to Times Roman with the desired bold - though no signature and 5 pcs. Att0028.html files attached. These can be opened and contains the file number each picture!
The above problems can be partly avoided by the following:
    1. Only send mails as plain text
Without any underlining, attachments, etc.. When the Windows PC Outlook receiver opens the mail where only the text fond is changed!!
    2. Sending mail with attached file
Start opening the mail program and use formatted plain text first and then attach (with the staple) file, and the Window receiver will get the file, but text and signature changed to Times New Roman size 13!!
    3. Sending mail with photos from iPhoto
Start by opening mail program text in Verdana 10 and click the Photo Browser and find (look for - takes its time!) the pictures you want to send and pull/drag them into the mail and send, - images, text and signature are in the mail on Windows PC - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
If sent as formatted text with various underlining, italics, etc. together with the photos will be received OK - but the writing is now New Times Roman size 12 signatures Verdana now in size 13!!!
I must say – I am disappointed with the Mac mail program – it actually means that sending a perfect mail with underlining, colours, a.s.o. also photos directly from iPhoto – will received at a Windows computer in a totally mess.
Looking forward to some good news from either Mac supporter or some clever Mac users who can help me to adjust my Mac to avoid these problems IF POSSIBLE!!!!.
Apple/Mac is too good a product to make these problems!!
    Best regards
    Peter Larsen
    <Edited by Host>

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The PC sets the font on its side, the Mac does on its side for plain text. There is no "font size" in plain text coding. Rich Text gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. HTML gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. Use the asterisk, parenthesis, underscore, or any keyboard symbol that is part of the original ASCII. Otherwise, the chance is nobody else will be able to read it who does not have your e-mail client in the same version.
Sadly there are no e-mail standards except MIME for attachment, and even that isn't universally supported. E-mail is not the ideal medium for anything except plain text that is ASCII. To learn more about ASCII, see:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII
If you want to post a website that is universally understood, see the hints here:

  • How is the interface between the Java Stack and ABAP stack is achieved?

How is the interface between the Java Stack and ABAP stack is achieved?..Please send me the answer to [email protected]

    Hi,
By interface, I assume you mean the connection between the ABAP and the Java stacks in a double stack system.
The connection from Java to ABAP is through JCo connections defined in the WebDynpro section of the J2EE start page. So Java to ABAP requests are processed through JCo.
The connection from ABAP to Java is through RFC connections defined in TA SM59. The ABAP to Java requests are processed through RFC.
    Refer https://dsd.esco-salt.com/StartPage/documents/integration/3.html for detailed explanation.
The UME can be maintained in either ABAP or in JAVA depending on the persistence.
    Refer: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/5b/5d2706ebc04e4d98036f2e1dcfd47d/frameset.htm
    Check UME data source configuration.

  • Question about Toshiba Bluetooth stack V.4

    Hi
We have a Fujitsu Siemens P7120 Laptop which requires the Toshiba Bluetooth stack located at http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/pages/download.php
When we install this in silent mode, the installation takes place however the Bluetooth does not initialise until the Toshiba Bluetooth information exchanger is launched!
Is there anyway to make the whole installation complete without this other step?

You should use the BT-stack of FSC. I also tried to install an OEM version of the Toshiba BT-stack, but in this case it was time limited. So check the "About" menu item to get get more details.

  • Conflict between refeneces in Lightswitch\ and Silverlight\ after update to Visual Studio 2013 12.0.40302.00 and SQL Server Data Tools 12.0.50226.0

After updating VS and SSDT there began a conflict with references in two directories under the SDKs folder (Lightswitch and Silverlight):
    Error 91
The type 'System.Data.Services.Client.DataServiceCollection<T>' exists in both '
    ...\Microsoft SDKs\LightSwitch\v4.5\Client\Microsoft.Data.Services.Client.SL.dll' and 'both '
    ...\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v5.0\Libraries\Client\System.Data.Services.Client.dll'
    ...\SPDCDataObjectContext.cs 1478
    52 Spac.DesktopClient
I thought since the Lightswitch directory was newer that I would comment out the Silverlight directory and see how far that would get me. Now I get:
    Error 16
The type or namespace name 'Composition' does not exist in the namespace 'System.ComponentModel' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
    ...\Spac.DesktopClient\GeneratedArtifacts\ApplicationGenerated.cs

    Spac.DesktopClient
How do I handle the original conflict between refeneces in Lightswitch\ and Silverlight\ ?
    Scott Mitchell

Thank you. Yes that resolves the conflict but leaves some missing references like the "Composition"
reference above. I was able to get past that by adding System.ComponentModel.Composition. This is after installing the VS 2013 update 4 build.
Now I get the following. I'm concerned that I'm taking references from both Lightswitch and Silverlight
sdk's just to get it to build. These references are required because of the auto generated code. I must have something quirked. Anyway what about System.Data.Common.DbConnection? How can I get it without
    referencing System.Data?
    Error 2
The type 'System.Data.Common.DbConnection' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.
