  • Conflict Resolver Pop-up Window Won't Go Away

Since recent update of Snow Leopard, I have been unable to resolve between 8 and 10 (the count changes) calendar conflicts between iCal and Entourage 2008. The notifications are apparently generated by MobileMe though I do not subscribe to the service.
Entourage groups my sync services as calendar/Mobile Me and contacts/Mobile Me and there does not appear to be an obvious way to unlink the two. Nor can I access any preferences in MobileMe without ostensibly signing up for an account. And I am stuck with pushing data from Entourage to iCal and address book so I can sync my iPhone.
No matter how many times I go through the exercise of "resolving conflicts and re-syncing" via the pop-up, the window reappears on top of any program in current use. Even "x-ing" out the window is only a max 5 min fix before the window reappears. I was using the same settings in Entourage prior to the new OS 10 update so I think this is just a VERY annoying bug. Advice please? Apple, please fix asap!!

I am having the exact same problem. I just, finally, installed SL today, and updated everything, including the 800+ mg security update to SL. I use Entourage and an iPhone. Prior to this installation I had no trouble syncing my Entourage cal with my iPhone cal (via iCal, of course, but I never use it separately). I got a Sync Conflict box with about 12 errors. There had been some odd changes in the times of the events, but as they had all occurred in the past I didn't care that much. I went through choosing the best version (sometimes between just Entourage and iCal, sometimes with the iPhone tossed in the mix), thinking it was done. But I've been repeatedly asked to review the same events more than four times in the past half an hour. It would appear that this is a bug of some kind. As I'm new to SL I don't know if it is from the update or the original disk, but I'd like it to go away. Please help.

  • Conflict Resolver issues need solution

I use Entourage 2008 (BOO!) as my main calendar/AB/notes/task manager and I used to sync it with iCal to always have a current calendar just in case I encountered one of those microshaft problems.
Occasionally the Conflict Resolver pops up with numerous conflicts and I always choose "use Entourage to resolve" -- which would always end up creating duplicate events in the calendar which I had to go in and manually delete. I got tired of this so I turned off syncing in iCal.
Today, I opened iCal after a few weeks (as I don't manually enter info into it) and I got conflicts. I wound up with who knows how many dupes, so I just restored up to the last file I backed up using iCal and then manually deleted the dupes it created for this month.
I prefer to be able to sync between iCal and Entourage since it is easier for me to print out events using iCal in Daily or List views -- which I do frequently because I need any notes to print out and Entourage appears not to have this ability, like Outlook did -- or maybe it's hidden and I got tired of looking for the thing I need to tick in order for the notes to print.
So getting back on track here --- is there any way to turn off this conflict resolution so that I can change the iCal prefs back to syncing between both calendars because it would be a real pain to enter info into two calendars when Entourage can automatically place it into iCal.
I'd been using this function since Office 2004 and I think I only had the conflict resolver come up once, so who knows --- it might be a 2008 issue??? Leave it to microshaft to cause problems.

I just turned the function back on, and since getting the iPhone 3G a few months back, haven't really had to deal with problems as before. I basically just modified Entourage the last time the CR popped up, d/l something called iCal Dupe Deleter, so that way I don't have to scan iCal -- and it's all good, for now ;-]

  • Conflict Resolver trying to resolve conflicts from 2004

It's irritating..... having used Entourage and iCal since 2004, now in trying to sync with 3g, I am getting this pop up that asks me to resolve conflicts dating back in 2004. Is there an option where I can ask it to ignore retroactive dates? My only option is 'resolve with < program here >'

After our power went off, I came home to find 64 "conflicts". Evidently an .mac folder was deleted, but I seem to have resolved that. However, no matter HOW many times i "resolve" the conflicts between the Mac and my Palm Treo 650, every few minutes Conflict Resolver pops up with the same 64 conflicts. Very frustrating. I wonder if there is a com.apple...... file out there somewhere to delete and start over.

  • TS4003 Since the MobileMe move I keep getting a screen that says "IDisk Conflict Resolver." I've done everything asked to "resolve" the problem but it keeps popping up every few minutes. How can I get rid of this?

Since the MobileMe move I keep getting a pop-up screen that says "IDisk Conflict Resolver." I've done everything asked to "resolve" the problem but it keeps popping up every few minutes. How can I get rid of this?

    Ok....so I have found a work around....if not a complete solution.
I'm not sure if deleting your music, uninstalling ITunes and reinstalling and adding your music back will actually affect it but I tried it again. Started from scratch.
I checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos"
Then I moved my music to phone via drag and drop, usually just boxing a row of albums at a time.
I went back into my Iphone and began the sync. The message popped up, "1 Item could not be synced" and the sync stopped. At that point, I just clicked sync again and it started back up again. It took a few go's but eventually I got all my music on my phone.
Ironically enough, the only songs that wouldn't sync were songs that I had actually purchased from Itunes....kinda odd

If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide, AdwareMedic, or Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.

Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

  • How to avoid IE pop-ups when running BIP reports(w/ SSO) from Oracle Forms?

    Hi all,
We have an OID/SSO integrated Oracle Forms and BI Publisher environment in place. We/users expect the same behavior when running Oracle Reports or BIP reports from Oracle Forms... which means receiving no intermediate pop-ups and simply getting the report output to appear in the relevant target application(PDF, EXCEL, etc). Currently we get multiple security warnings when running BIP reports from Oracle Forms.
    Here's a list of Pop-ups contents:
    1. "File Download - Security Warning" Do you want to open or save this file? -> OPEN
    2. "File Download" Do you want to save this file? Name = ma01r500.pdf -> YES
    3. "Save AS" -> pick desktop and save.
    4. "Download Complete" -> OPEN
We have experimented with setting various IE security settings to LOW/enabled and still get these pop-ups.
    Any suggestions is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Yahya

FYI... Metalink Note 282996.1 has resolved the bigger issue with the extra pop-ups with SSO enabled environment.
    Cause:
Internet Explorer (IE) has to cache PDF files in a temporary directory prior to opening the file. Without this IE cannot process PDF files. With SSO protected pages, the header cache settings are set to no-cache which prevents IE from downloading PDF files.
    Solution:
In mod_osso.conf use the entry "OssoSendCacheHeaders off" which tells mod_osso to turn off all no-cache related headers, which the enables Internet Explorer to be cache the file in a temporary directory.
Now I am not sure if anybody has any thoughts/suggestions as how we might be able to resolve this issue where Oracle Reports WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT calls have no pop-ups so ideally BIP reports WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT calls should behave the same as both are calls from Oracle Forms.
But at least now our SSO enabled environment and un-secure DEV/UAT behave the same with a single pop-up. Ideally the users shouldn't have to come across this intermediate pop-up to open(save/cancel being the other options) the document(just like Oracle Reports calls).

  • I'm having issues Buying my ALBUM from iPhoto. I think Pop Ups and other issues (on my MAC) are blocking me from Ordering?

I was able to BUY/ORDER an Album before. Last time was Feb. BUT since then I am having issues with annoying Sites that Pop Up when I click within a website that I'm on. i.e. Trip Advisor>another website will open and then another and then another! VERY Frustrating! I need the pop ups to run Netflix or other programs.
    1) I'm not sure this is the issue that is preventing me from Buying my Album?
    2) I tried to EXPORT my Album over to my iPad thru iCloud but it ONLY exports the individual jpegs.
After hours and hours of creating this Album I don't want to start again on another device ;-(

  • Tool bar "pop-ups" won't pop. How do I fix this?

I started having the problem in Adobe Fireworks CS5. I upgraded to CC and CS-6 Fireworks and I'm still having the same problems. I just tried Illustrator and Photoshsop and the toolbars there are broken as well.  All of my pop-ups are locked up. They won't pop-up with other items to switch over to.  I can find no fix for it.  Any tool where you can change how that tool functions does not pop-up.
    Any ideas?

Turn off Spotify (which is known for incompatibility with Fireworks), and check if you have Chrome running with the Google Play Music add-on.
If that does not resolve your issues, try turning off all other applications one by one.
Fireworks is no longer maintained, supported, or developed (since May 2013) by Adobe, and compatibility issues are bound to happen at this point.

  • Mackeeper and other pop ups

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my Macbook Pro has a possible virus? I really don't think anything is wrong, as everything seems to be working fine, knock on wood.... However, I noticed I when using Safari, I have had pop ups for Mackeeper, to clean my Mac, and just now I got a new tab opened automatically for Mackeeper and when I went to leave the page, a pop up appeared that said Let Mackeeper clean your Mac, If you don't want to use Mackeeper, leave this page.  It might not have been word for word, but it was to that effect, i exited out of that page! I saw a similar post on here from November, and Linc Davis gave steps to check for an extension that could be a problem. I followed those steps, but didn't find any extensions at all... So, did I look right and do I have anything to worry about? I really am not worried and know what to look for, but just want some opinions of my peers....

  • Pop ups don't always work correctly

I am having problems with pop ups on some sites. I do not have pop ups blocked and I do have javascript enabled. I am using Firefox 6.0.2 on Windows XP 32-bit (I first noticed the problem with an older version of Firefox but upgrading didn't help).
To see an example of the problem, visit one of the StackExchange sites eg Stackoverflow.com (you might need to create an account or log in with Open ID). If you click on a question you should see some options underneath the question text:
    link|edit|close|flag
(You may not see edit or close if you are a new user as I think these require some "reputation" to be enabled).
Clicking on "close" or "flag" is supposed to pop up a dialog asking for the close / flag reason to be selected from radio buttons. This works fine for me in Chrome or if I start Firefox in Safe Mode, but not if I start Firefox normally (even if I disable all plug ins and extensions manually).
I asked about this on Meta Stack Overflow (my question is here: http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/106405/close-link-doesnt-work-for-me ) but they were unable to help beyond "it's probably one of your browser settings". I've looked through all the settings under Tools -> Options and can't see anything odd.
I actually have a similar issue on an internal work web server which displays pop ups OK but they have no text in them. I can't point you at this as it's inside our firewall but I am hopeful that the resolution to the first issue will also resolve the second :-)

I have now solved this issue.
    I had a "userContent.css" file in %APP_DATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\y06a2da6.default\chrome\userContent.css
which contained some pop up blocking code for iframes incorporating various strings such as "/ad", "/banner", "/splash" etc.
It looks as though the "close" dialog on StackOverflow was somehow getting caught in this. I've removed the userContent.css file and it now all works fine.

  • Images inside pop-ups in CHM not displaying correctly

I am generating a CHM using RoboHelp 10 on a Windows XP machine.
I have a few pop-ups in some topics. These pop-ups contain screen shots. After generating the CHM, when I click the pop-ups to view the screen shots, they are not displayed correctly. That is, half of the image does not appear and there are no horizontal scroll bars either to scroll. This happens for pop-ups that appear on the left side of a topic. The images inside pop-ups that appear to the right side of a topic appear fine when clicked.
The help file was originally created using RH 7. I upgraded the source files to RH 10 successfully and there were no errors during the upgradation.
I even tried generating the CHM on other systems with RH10 and the same system configuration as mine but ended up with the same results. I assume there is some compatibility issue maybe between RH 7 and RH10.
Looking forward to any helpful insights here as this is pretty urgent at the moment for me to resolve the aforementioned issue at the earliest.

    Hi Rick,
Thank you for the response. Alas, updating the DHTML effects doesn't help. In the project that am working, I have used hyperlinks that are marked to be displayed as auto-sizing pop-ups.
I also tried editing the eHlpDhtm.js file as mentioned in the thread here, https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1297423#expires_in=86399993&token_type=bearer&access_token =eyJhbGciOiJSUzI1NiIsIng1dSI6I…. But that was of no avail either.
Do you have any other insights here?

For the past several weeks I have been inundated with pop-ups.  How do I get rid of them?
Also, can I upgrade my operating system?

You can upgrade your system as follows.
Do you currently have the 10.5.8 Combo update loaded?  (if not download and apply the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update )
First, check that your machine is suitable for Snow Leopard.   It needs to be a Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.   Check by reading the specs.
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard -Read the Technical Specifications
Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade by DVD not a download.  To buy the DVD, if you are from the USA go to … http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard.  In Europe or otherwise substitute your national code in place of /us above.
In UK go to Apple Store UK       Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (UK)
Before you start upgrading, back up your files.   If you are unsure how best to do this, the following link is hugely informative.        Most commonly used backup methods: Apple Support Communities.
Once you have upgraded to Snow Leopard, if your upgrade took you to 10.6.3 you will need to download and apply the Combo updater.  Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1  and follow with software updates to pick up the most recent security and iTunes updates.
It is possible this upgrade may resolve the problem of the pop ups.   If not, after upgrading, I suggest you raise the question again.

Ever since I updated to 10.8.4 this morning, Conflict Resolver started popping up again and again. My iMac also starts to get really slow. I have not gotten conflict resolver prompts but tag related searches seem to be broken across the board in finder since the update. Smart folders based on "tags contains" rules crash finder without an error, mail tags prompts for an upgrade, tags no longer available as a search attribute from a command-f search in finder. To find files that have tagged, I have to use a third party app like Doo or Leap. I know 10.9 will have a tags incorporated into finder but why was this removed from 10.8 as it was available prior to 10.8.4?
