Conflicting applications

i tried to upgrade my nokia asha 200 it is now showing conflicting application show items please advice on how to restore it. Thanks. My nasiru musa.

You can try reinstalling the phone firmware. A short guide to phone update -
Connect your phone to a computer & select Nokia Suite mode. If you do not have Nokia Suite on your pc you can download it from here. Now open the Nokia Suite & click on the “green icon of arrow pointing downwards”.
If any updates are available they will be shown in ‘green’. If not you may reinstall the current version. Reinstall option is shown in ‘blue’. If no option to reinstall is shown, please wait for sometime it will become visible. Then the Nokia Suite will download the new software version of the phone. After it you will be prompted to take a complete back up of the device content. Please do not skip this step as reinstallation will erase all the personal data from the phone like contacts, messages, calendar entries etc.
Please note that if you have set a memory card password & you have forgotten its code then take a backup of the card data also as the card will be locked after update and can only be unlocked if you enter the correct code or by ways mentioned in this thread.
Also note that while updating the device ensure the following things-
The device is full charged.
The internet connection Is of good speed & has a backup in case of power loss.
The PC should also be connected to back up power source as if the process is interrupted the phone may go dead. More on update failure & its remedies here.
Please do not run any resource intensive programs in the background while updating as it may freeze the PC which in turn will lead to a dead device.
Ignore all the windows pop-up notifications about device being disconnected.DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE UNTIL UPDATE IS COMPLETED.
It will be better if you disable security keyguard & PIN code request before proceeding with Update/Reinstallation.
Sometimes the device may show Test Mode. Do not panic & DO NOT remove the cable. Let the process complete.

If problem persists, please visit the nearest authorised Nokia Care Centre as they update the phone by different method.

The most resent Firefox update has a conflicting application with adobe and all pdf files have to open firefox before opening

My issue started with downloading the most current Firefox. Firefox opens multiple empty tabs (20 -30 or more) every time I use adobe reader. I changed the action for a content type to show adobe reader. It was showing open the file in adobe in Firefox. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice and this did not work. I uninstalled Adobe Reader and Air but could not uninstall Adobe Flash Player because of a conflicting Application with Firefox. I then uninstalled Firefox and was able to uninstall Adobe Flash Player. I reinstalled Adobe Reader only and then Firefox. I no longer have multiple empty tabs opening up but each time I open a pdf file, Firefox has to open as well. I am operating on Windows 7 Home edition. Can some one help this is a nuisance.

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not the built-in PDF Viewer).

anytime i want to download,my phone always shows link not available.and also downloaded applications did not open by showing conflicting applications.and i came here and saw nokia browser but did not download.have tried the solution.please help me oooooo

I have tried to download and install adobe ten but it says firefox is a conflicting application and wont install it, any ideas?

Adobe 10 will work ok in internet explora but wont run in firefox. It tells me to close firefox down as its a conflicting application, whats going on?

There are two version of Flash, one for IE ''(ActiveX)'' and another for other browsers (Plugin). Adobe's setup routine needs Firefox to be closed so the installation can proceed.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: 
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. 
Save it to your Desktop. 
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit 
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, 
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

Phn restart due to conflict application

I was trying to install indisms(http://indisms.in).For the first time it worked well.But after that when I try to open it,it shows
"conflicting application,show items?"
when I select yes the phone screen fluctuates and the phone restarts.Then I deleted the application,restart phn and try to reinstall.But this time before the download start,the same error apears.I tried to install after a complete factory restore but in vain.Is there any way to make the application work?
I am using 6303c,
firmware v 10.12

Flash Player will not Download due to Conflicting Application

I had a virus in my computer that has since been eliminated. The only problem resulting from it seems to be I have lost the use of Flash Player. So I have tried simply re-installing it. When the installation process gets to 100% I get a message saying the installation cannot be completed until I close a conflicting application. The conflicting application is Live Messenger. The problem is that Live Messenger is not open when I get this message. In tried to unistall Flash Player, but even when I do this I get the same message that it cannot be unistalled until I close Live Messenger, which is as I stated is not even open. Very frustrating. Uncertain what to do. Has anyone else ever encountered this type of problem, or have any ideas about how to resolve it? I would greatly appreciate any help from anyone. Chris

1) Please restart the computer and make sure no application is running.
2) Download the Flash Player Uninstaller from this link : http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe, run it !!
3) Download the Flash Player from this link : http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_playe r_10_active_x.exe
4) Run it
Note : Make sure while running these (Flash Player & Flash Player Uninstaller) no programs are running

Welcome to the forum!
Do you only get the error upon opening specific apps, or with all apps installed on your Nokia X2-02? What fixes have you tried so far? Have you tried doing the troubleshooting steps given on the previous post?
If the error occurs when launching downloaded apps, try removing and reinstalling those apps from the Store. To remove downloaded apps, just go to Apps / Extras > My apps > Highlight the app that you're having issues with > Options > Delete. After that, go to Store > My Stuff to redownload the apps.
If the issue happens with preloaded apps, try to check if the phone's software is updated using Nokia Suite. Check this link for the steps: Nokia X2-02 software update and downloads If there's no update available, look for the 'Reinstall' option in Nokia Suite > SW Updates > Device Software Updates.
Let us know how it will go.

I did as you suggested.
When I got the Install Adobe Flash Player screen saying "Installer will automaticallycontinue when .......closed", I closed all iexplorer processes and after closing the last one this screen changed to say"Installation complete" and "DONE".
But the flash player had not been installed!
There are two things that may have a bearing on this problem.When I first started trying to download the player I was requested to allow "pop-ups" by Mcafee. This requirement now has disappeared. Secondly when I go to control panel to check if Flash player has been installed I see that Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX is listed as a programme but with no size.

Check for software update using Nokia suite.
You can also download Opera mini and UC browser from Nokia store.

Hey guys, I have downloaded picasa on my nokia 303 through Nokia store and while i was checking this app , suddenly a window pop up asking to update the software. When i update it ; my nokia browser is showing 'conflicting app'.when i click on it ,it shows nokia xpress. I have restore setting and hard restore , but nothing happens. Help me . . . ! !

Did something happen on the phone prior this? Is it only the Twitter application that you're having trouble with? If yes, have you tried to uninstall and reinstall this application?
