Conflicting information about connection type, who...

Hello there,
I just need clarification over my connection. I'm currently on BT Option 3 and the Hub is reporting a connection speed of 7mbps and modulation type G.992.1 which is (I assume) ADSL Max.
However, all ADSL checkers across the internet were reporting my exchange was running upto ADSL2+ 21CN and in December recieved an email stating an upgrade to our line speed. After about 3 months nothing has happened, so I rang BT. The first two people I was put in touch with did a line test and said I should indeed be on ADSL2+. However when I was forwarded to tech they just said that the exchange is not being upgraded and there were no plans to and that was the end of it.
So is that it? Is it simply not being upgraded or is there more to it? And why did half of BT give one answer, and half another?
Thanks in advance for any insight,
Max.

What exchange are you on? Sometimes it can be months before they get round to actually migrating your line over from the old 20CN DSLAMS to the 21CN MSANS.
Sometimes, and I'm not sure on the stipulations, but a regrade in contract is required before your circuit is upgraded to 21CN. I don't think that applies if you've had the email though.

    According to:
    http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/p/19351107/19767627.a spx#19767627
    It has DVI ports.  This means you are best to use an adapter that supports DVI.  Note there is no audio that carries over DVI.  What you need is a mini-Displayport to DVI adapter, and the proper DVI cable. Since Dell doesn't have the specs, you'll need to tell us if you have pins or holes, and how many are grouped.

  • Conflicting information about files that should not be included in version control

    Hi All,
    We are using RoboHelp HTML v9 from the Tech Comms Suite v3.5.
    We are two authors who added our help project files into Perforce version control using the instructions provided on the Adobe site. All was going well until I returned from Maternity Leave. Now, we seem to be getting some file conflicts and 'strange behaviour'.
    I searched for answers and found the following submissions offering conflicting advice about the .hhp file:
    http://adobe.hosted.jivesoftware.com/message/3880352
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3853685#3853685
    The .hhp file is one of the files causing us troubles. Should this file be under source control? What is the best way for us to remove it from source control, or would it be better for us to remove the whole project from source control and re-add it through RoboHelp once more to ensure whatever it is that happened on my return is eliminated?
    Thank you all for your help.
    Regards
    LillibetUK

    If you are getting conflicts then these need to be sorted out regardless of whether they should be inside your source control application. I use source control and can tell you that the HHP file should be source controlled. Open it up in Notepad and you'll find all sort of project related data including a list of all the topics in your project. It can also be useful to recover from a corrupted project. For this reason alone I'd always include it in source control.

  • How to get information about connections and calls?

    Hi everyone,
    I would like to know if there's a way to get informations like time spent and bytes transfered from connections* and callings made from the cellphone, not just from a midlet application?
    * Any type of connections like WAP, SMS, GPRS.
    tks

    As far as getting the time it takes, as i've previously seen responded to this type of problem you can get the time before and after the event that took place and do a subtraction to calculate the time it took.

  • Conflicting information about external display resolution - please help!

    I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) with the non-reflective screen, Mini Display Port and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Graphics processor.
    According to these technical specifications (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP544), the built-in NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Graphics processor supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display.
    Armed with this information, I just purchased a shiny, new DELL U2711 (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&sku= 224-8284&redirect=1) external display which has a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Unfortunately, all I can get out of it is 1920 x 1080 (This is the maximum resolution I can select in the monitors system preferences panel.)
    So Apple tells me this graphics card supports 2560 x 1600, but I also contacted NVIDIA directly who told me that this particular card's maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080.
    Somebody has to be wrong. Is this monitor supported? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to send this monitor back and buy a smaller display?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    O

    Well - seeing as nobody could provide any help on this, I'll post the answer in case anybody else has the same problem.
    It turns out that the monitor's resolution IS supported by the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, so the information NVIDIA gave me was wrong.
    The issue was the adaptor.
    A regular Mini Display > DVI adaptor can only handle a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Turns out I needed a Mini Display > DUAL LINK DVI Adapter, which is a combination of USB and DVI which provides the required resolution of 2560 x 1600.

    Hope this is helpful to somebody.

  • Information about Table Type

    Hi Guys,
    What does Table Type mean?
    What are uses of Table Type?
    Regards,
    Chandru

    Hi
    Analogous to the predefined ABAP types such as C or I , one may define user-defined types in the dictionary.
    The following user-defined types are allowed
    Data elements: Describe an elementary type by defining   the data type, length and possibly decimal places.
    Structures: Consist of components that can have any       type.
    Table types: Describe the structure of an internal table.
    Elaboration on the type categories.
    There are three different type categories in the ABAP Dictionary:
    Data elements (elementary types) Elementary types have no structure. They describe the data type attributes (such as given Dictionary data type, number of places) and information that is relevant for the screen (such as title) of unstructured data objects (variables/fields).
    Structures (structured types) Structured types describe the structure and functions of any structured data objects, that is of data structures with components of any type. A component can be a field with an elementary type or can itself be a structure. A table can also be used as a component in a structure. A database table always has a structure and is therefore implicitly a structured type. However, the fields of a database table can only have an elementary type.
    Table types Table types describe the structure and functions of internal tables in the ABAP program. Their rows can have any row type. Table types with elementary row type therefore can be defined just the same as multi-dimensional table types (table types with a table type as row type) or table types using structures with table-like components.
    Any complex user-defined type may be built using the
    previously mentioned basic types.

  • Actually i don't  know where to post this, but I'm MBA student and have to do a project about the HR functions in a famous company. and I'd like to talk about Apple inc, so how can i get some information about that, and who can help me in this?

    Can anyone help me in this?

    Sara ~ Apple's mission statement is HERE. But the following statement from Apple's now-CEO Tim Cook during a quarterly earnings conference call on 21 January 2009 may give more insight:
    "There is an extraordinary breadth and depth and tenure among the Apple executive team, and these executives lead over 35,000 employees that I would call "all wicked smart". And that's in all areas of the company, from engineering to marketing to operations and sales and all the rest. And the values of our company are extremely well entrenched.
    We believe that we're on the face of the Earth to make great products, and that's not changing. We're constantly focusing on innovating. We believe in the simple, not the complex. We believe that we need to own and control the primary technologies behind the products we make, and participate only in markets where we can make a significant contribution.
    We believe in saying no to thousands of projects so that we can really focus on the few that are truly important and meaningful to us. We believe in deep collaboration and cross-pollination of our groups, which allow us to innovate in a way that others cannot.
    And frankly, we don't settle for anything less than excellence in every group in the company, and we have the self-honesty to admit when we're wrong and the courage to change. And I think, regardless of who is in what job, those values are so embedded in this company that Apple will do extremely well."

  • There is conflicting information about AirPlay support on iPod Touch

    According to this page:
    http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/features/airplay.html
    The current generation of the iPod Touch supports AirPlay.
    According to this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5209?viewlocale=en_US
    (Taken from the post here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3790243?start=0&tstart=0)
    It does not.
    Needless to say, I am confused.  I can find no reference to enabling AirPlay on the iPod Touch so I suspect the correct answer is that it does not support it, but then why are they explicitly stating that it does support it on their own product page?  To any reasonable human being this is false advertising.  Hopefully someone from Apple can clarify what is going on here.

    Where?
    The link that YOU provided says NOTHING about the iPod.  Your post is sad, really.  The following is a C&P from your link:
    For best performance, make sure that your system meets AirPlay Mirroring minimum requirements.
    iPhone 4S or iPad 2 (and later) with iOS 5 and later
    Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) with software version 5.0 or later
    An 802.11a, -g or -n wireless network

  • Getting information about antenna

    Hello, how can i gather information about antenna type (its PN at least) if i have no physical access to the AP, only telnet session?

    Hi Mikhail,
    This is a question that surfaces from time to time and sadly there is no method to gather this info remotely. Here is a recent thread with this discussion;

  • Get information about users, which shows and works on my webdynpro

    Hi everybody
    I need to know, what is the form to get the information about de user, who's shows and entry my webdynpro. i need this information to send to RFC Model to ABAP server

    Use the UME for that:
    try {
         IWDClientUser wdUser;
         wdUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
         IUser user = wdUser.getSAPUser();
    } catch (WDUMException e) {
         e.printStackTrace();
    variable "user" has now all the data from the current user executing the dynpro,  extract the info from "user", then pass it as input parameter to your RFC's.

    despite the workaround, it doesn't fix the real problem. It shouldn't be a huge deal for adobe to add support for multiple svn versions. Dreamweaver is the first tool i've used that works with svn that doesn't support several types of svn meta data. If they're going to claim that Dreamweaver supports svn is should actually support svn, the current version, not a version several years old. This should have been among the first patches released, or at least after snow leopard came out (and packaged with it the current version of svn).
    does anyone know if the code that handles meta data formatting is something that is human readable, or where it might be, or is it in compiled code.
    i signed up for the forums, for the sole purpose of being able to vent about this very frustrating and disappointing situation.
