Conflicts w/ Bose Link AL8 wireless audio system

Has anyone encountered this problem: iTunes won't stream or stops streaming to a home stereo/theater system that has a wireless transmitter. My iMac G5 can stream music to my bose home theater system (HTS) when the HTS wireless transmitter is disconnected, but not when I power up the HTS wireless transmitter (which sends the music to the speakers in the rest on the house).
Has anyone come up with a satisfactory solution to the 2.4 gHz frequency conflict?

Try changing the channel used by your Airport Express (start with either 1 or 11). This setting is found under the Airport tab of the Airport Admin Utility.

I cannot get itunes radio to sync with my wireless audio system.  It was working until recently and now only downloaded music will play.  Is this a function of the system or did itunes do something?

    Hi,
Here is a suggestion from Carolyn Samit that worked for this problem with iPads - see if following her instructions clears up the problem with your iPhone:
Launch iTunes with your iPhone connected to your Mac. Make sure the iPad is listed under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window.
From your iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.
If there is more then one backup available, delete all but one.
Restart your iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
    Restart your Mac.
    Try to sync now.
    Hope this works for you!
    Cheers,

  • Audio system interferences with Wireless mouse

    Hi folks!
This is one of the most incredible thing I have never seen, in my whole life.
    Let's start...
I have a Trust250SP wireless mouse and I'm using the onboard audio. When I listen to MP3, MIDI, CDAudio (digitalized, cannot try direct cdaudio mode ¿?), WAV, etc.  my wireless mouse doesn't work (or work extremely slow) untill I approach it upto 15 cm from the antenna; however, listening to radio or microphone, everything is ok.
If I mute the whole audio, then the mouse responses again; if I unmute it, the mouse doesn't work. If I mute the Wave input, mouse works; after unmutting it, mouse doesn't work. If I stop/pause winamp (or powerdvd, etc.), mouse responses; if I resume/play winamp, mouse doesn't response.
I tried to unplug the three audio cables (5.1 audio) but it doesn't matter. I also try to unplug my 5.1 amplifier, with the same behavior.
What does all that have in common? When the nVidia Mixer Spectrum Analizer works, the mouse doesn't response and, when the Spectrum Analizer doesn't work (for radio input, microphone, etc.), then the mouse works fine.
As far as I can remember, I update my nVidia drivers to version 5.10 a couple of weeks ago. Before that, I believe my mouse was working fine all the time. I'm willing to bet that version 5.10 is the cause of all my problems.
IMHO, this is NOT an IRQ conflict or something like that because I tried a standard ps/2 mouse (not wireless) and everything works fine. Even my wireless mouse works fine when it's very very close to the antenna; so, the only explanation (for me) is that the audio system is interfiering my wireless mouse.
Any ideas? (please, I hope so)
PS: how can I uninstall the 5.10 drivers and install the old ones?

I tried both channels on my mouse with the same result. I also brought the antenna as far as I could and... same result
Any more ideas? The strangest is that all this  didn't happen a time ago.
How can I remove the nVidia drivers?

  • Wireless Audio Transfer to Speakers/Stereo System

I was wondering, I have a BOSE system and would like to play the music on my Mac Book Pro and have it wirelessly play onto the BOSE via FM channels instead of burning everything to 400 CD's. Any way to do this?

I use an Apple Airport Express, 802.11 b/g, wireless router to transmit iTunes wirelessly to my various audio systems. It sounds very good and works flawlessly. Unfortunately, it only works with iTunes. The Apple Express includes a 1/8" stereo audio jack for connection to your stereo equipment. This jack also functions as a digital optical port.
I don't believe the audio quality of FM transmitter/receiver is nearly as good as that with the Apple Airport Express.
I think this unit has recently been reduced in price. Apple may be upgrading this to 802.11n in the near future.

  • Does the MBP support the 'Trust Wireless Bluetooth PC Audio System BT-9300'

Hi, I have just ordered my MBP from apple which won't be delivered until the end of March 2008.
I want to be able to wirelessly transmit the sound from my MBP to my HiFi or other similar audio system, without using any bulky devices.
The 'Trust Wireless Bluetooth PC Audio System BT-9300' offers exactly what I am looking for, but does not state if it is compatible with MacBook Pro's.
Does anyone have any information which might help me out?
    Many thanks in advance.

Every time I've tried to use Trust stuff it's been flakey, they do not accept the existence of Apple or Mac OS X in general so it may not be the best choice...
It should also be noted that audio over BlueTooth isn't exactly brilliant - perhaps an Airport Express would answer your problem?

  • Can I link an iPad to bluetooth speakers - for a wireless sound system

    Hi
Can I link an iPad to bluetooth speakers to have a wireless sound system?
    What bluetooth speakers are available?

Yes. Here's a link. Google shows a bunch. Beware though some are just bluetooth linking the left or right speaker and requires you to plug into the not-bluetooth-linked-speaker.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Are you sure that your MyEntune software is compatible with displaying email and calendar items from your BlackBerry? I know my 2012 VW Golf can only handle the first three items on your list and it can't do Email or Calendar either. If it is supposed to work, then do the following on your phone:
Go to the homescreen and touch the top right corner to open the Manage Connections screen. Go to Networks and Connections > Bluetooth Connections, press the BB Menu button and select MAP Options. Make sure that your email accounts are all enabled there. Go back and press the BB Menu button again and this time select the regular Options. Make sure that your Serial Port Profile entries are all checked.
If that still doesn't work, it may simply be that your Camry and BlackBerry are not compatible for this feature.
If you want to thank someone for their comment, do so by clicking the Thumbs Up icon.
If your issue is resolved, don't forget to click the Solution button on the resolution!

  • HT4145 is it possible to use a sngle air port express both for streaming music to an audio system AND as a wireless base station

is it possible to use a single air port express both for streaming music to an audio system AND as a wireless base station

Yes you can - if it is your only router or it is after another Apple router - if you have a non-Apple router then it would have to be hard wired to create its' own wireless network.

  • Apple AirPort Express - use only as wireless audio gateway

    Hello!
I use a Samsung Notebook (Q35) and iTunes extensively. My WLAN (801.11 g) connection is already set up with an existing access point and router - but what I really want to do is to make up a wireless audio connection between iTunes and my stereo system. Sounds like the AirPort Express is the right thing to do - but, please, can anybody tell me
    a) if I can use both my existing WLAN network and the AirPort Express as ONLY audio gateway to my stereo TOGETHER at the same time (I do not want to include the AirPort into my WLAN-DSL network - I only want to use it as audio gateway to the stereo),
    b) which performance I can expect in such configuration (does surfing the internet slow down the audio link in such configuration)?
    c) can I use the AirPort Express to take up an extrenal harddrive in such a configuration?
Do You have any suggestions of alternatives for a wireless audio gateway to the stereo? Are there other, generally useable ways?
Thanks very much for Your answer in advance.
    Björn
P.S.: Do You know - can I use the USB connector in the AirPort Express to connect to a USB hub - and use it to connect it to my iPod and synchronize my iPod wireless?

    hi Björn,
    a) if I can use both my existing WLAN network and the AirPort Express as ONLY audio gateway to my stereo TOGETHER at the same time (I do not want to include the AirPort into my WLAN-DSL network - I only want to use it as audio gateway to the stereo),
the Airpor Express can be configure to join your existing WLAN. so as a part of your local network, it will be an accessible device while you can still used your internet.
    b) which performance I can expect in such configuration (does surfing the internet slow down the audio link in such configuration)?
i haven't notice a significant slow down while i'm surfing internet and streaming AirTunes but i'm not able to tell you how much bandwidth AirTunes actually needs.
    c) can I use the AirPort Express to take up an extrenal harddrive in such a configuration?
No, only the new Airport Extreme n base station can support AirDrive but the Airport Extreme base station does not have the AirTunes features.
Do You have any suggestions of alternatives for a wireless audio gateway to the stereo? Are there other, generally useable ways?
personnally, i do beleive that the AirTunes features you will get with the Airport Express is the better alternative since you already use iTunes for your playback.
P.S.: Do You know - can I use the USB connector in the AirPort Express to connect to a USB hub - and use it to connect it to my iPod and synchronize my iPod wireless?
to my knowledge, the usb socket on the Airport Express can only be used by a USB printer or a AirTunes remote control. you will not be able to synchronize your iPod on the Airport Express.

  • Do I need a Roaming Network or a Wireless Distribution System?

Hello - as the title says, I am confused about which type of network I should create.
    My specs: Macbook Pro
    Windows XP Toshiba Laptop
White UFO-shaped Airport Extreme Base Station
New White Square-shaped Airport Extreme Base Station
    1 USB HP Deskjet printer
1 Ministack USB hub/external hard drive
1 LaCie USB external hard drive
I am in the process of finishing my basement and will finally have an "office" to place all of my stuff. I want to be able to hook up the USB printer and USB external hard drives at the same time for wireless availability, so I bought the new AEBS. I am concerned about placing the AEBS in the basement and its impact on wireless signal strength to the upper floors of the house, so I thought I would connect the older UFO-shaped AEBS into the system to extend the wireless range.
I am confused, however, about whether to set up a "roaming network" or a "Wireless Distribution System". I am not sure of the particular benefits of either system given my situation so any help someone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
My house is fairly new, and has a data line system to each room, and I have a cable modem and router in the basement and can share the internet connection to the whole house in this manner. My UFO-shaped AEBS was hooked up to the internet connection via this method with an ethernet cable into the back of the AEBS on the main floor of the house. The USB printer was plugged into the UFO-shaped AEBS. This worked well. Again, now that the new AEBS will be in the basement, I am concerned about signal strength, and would like to use my old AEBS to help out.
I have looked at the Designing Airport Extreme 802.11n Networks pdf document and while it is very detailed about how to set up each of these networks, it does not seem to adequately (in my opinion) address why I would choose one setup over another. For example, should I continue to connect the old AEBS to the ethernet wall connection to get internet connectivity, or should the old AEBS receive its connection wirelessly?
    Thanks in advance.

I am confused, however, about whether to set up a "roaming network" or a "Wireless Distribution System".
A roaming network uses Ethernet to connect the base stations. Therefore they all transmit good quality wireless data signals. Physically adjacent base stations should be configured to use channels 3 or more apart to reduce interference with each other. Everything gets full bandwidth.
A WDS network connects the base stations via wireless. Therefore the remote and relay base stations can only transmit data with the same quality as they receive it wirelessly. So if a remote station receives a lousy wireless signal from the main base, all of the clients of that remote station will get a lousy data rate. Also each WDS link cuts the available bandwidth in half.
Since your house is already wired for Ethernet, I would use the "roaming network".

  • How do I get a 5.1 audio system to work with my Macbook?

So, I just got my new Macbook Pro 13 inch, and I was so excited to use it, but I realised the uh, speakers sucked. Right now I have some really crappy speakers plugged in through the audio out port, and it's not really making me happy. Not one bit. So, I'm getting a 5.1 surround sound audio system to make me not so depressed with my sound-lovingness, but I've run into the problem of not knowing how to plug one in, cause there isn't exaclty a place to put all those wires.  I just need a little help from a fellow sound lover to figure this out, so I can at last let my room tremble with the magnificent power of a better-than-crappy sound system. Thank you very much!
    Danke

Your not weird, your a audiophile.

Good sound costs money. And with a 5.1 system your usually doing surround sound decoding for BlueRay movies etc. for home theater purposes.
The PC 5.1 surround sound systems require a audio card in a PC tower and mainly used for playing 3D games so that won't work for any Mac at all. So don't buy a PC 5.1 surround sound system for your Mac.
Harmon Kardon has the GoPlay, it's a portable stereo with awesome sound (not as good as their theater systems) and you can hook up a analog male/male stereo mini cable to it from the Mac.
$200 and it has a iPod dock and also takes like 8 batteries so it's portable.
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002GHBTNC
There is also the Bose Wave clock/radio, you will need a stereo mini to RCA break out cable for that.

The GoPlay has much better sound than the Bose, I think the Bose are overpriced.

  • I want to create an airplay whole house audio system

I want to build a multi-zone whole house airplay audio system.  I used airplay very successfully at my old house and love the ability to independentaly control different airplay devices with the Remote app on my iphone.
So, here is what I have in my new (old) house.  There are 10 pairs of speakers in various rooms throughout the house.  I'd like to create 10 different airplay zones utilizing 10 Airport Expresses and a multi channel amp.  I'd use the audio out on each express to feed the amp.  What I don't know is if I can place 10 airport expresses right next to each other without the wifi going crazy.  I thought about running CAT5 to that location and putting in a switch and feeding the extremes via CAT5 and disabling the wifi.
Any suggestions if the above would work in a wifi configuaration?  I'm thinking I should go CAT5 though and disable wireless.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

You guys are ON IT!  This is what I did with the Airport Express product:
    http://www.inwallblog.com/wp/apple-airport-express/
It's only one zone but it's what got me started.
With that multi-zone amp, the AirPlay feature really starts to shine.  6 Airports plugged into that amp and you've got full control with all your rooms from your iPhone....how cool is that!
The only downside I can see is that you need multiple iTunes libraries running at the same time to listen to something different.  Or you could have the music downloaded onto your phone.  Or you could use Apple Match.  Or....oh meh gosh, I think I'm an AppleFanBoy.
