Conforming in Soundtrack Pro and Exporting to Final Cut

Hello.
I have a question on the conforming proces.
After I have conformed my project in Soundtrack Pro, I export it to Final Cut. When it arrives in Final Cut, the audio is perfect, but for some reason it exported the video from the earlier project -- not the conformed project.
Does anyone know how to fix this and make it so that when the conformed project arrives in Final Cut, it brings both the conformed audio and the conformed video?
Thank you!!
Brian

hey there MHASH,

  • Audio edited in Soundtrack Pro is offline in Final Cut Pro

I'm an owner of iMac 24" and Final Cut Studio Pro.
When send an audio track to waveform editor and save it, in Final Cut the file is offline 'cause it don't find the "render.mov" file. I've the last suite version and normally this file would have automatically embedded in the file package generated by Soundtrack Pro.
Thanks a lot for your help.

i purchased the logic studio suite and it came with 5 jam packs..the other one i spoke of that was bundled with final cut had no additional content outside of the stock basic content in the core program, so my new question would be, if i can locate the individual samples from an earlier version, could i just drop them into the library for use??
    thanks in advance

  • Soundtrack pro from Logic Studio & Final Cut Pro(please read)

i recently purchased a mac pro an logic studio for soundtrack after using a mac at school.
we had the soundtrack version that came bundled with final cut pro and i have noticed that some of the samples that are in the final cut version differ from the logic version ( nuther lectro, ethnic FX loop and so on). im wondering if there is any way of obtaining loops from the final cut version for use with my logic version..
    thanks in advance

  • Need help editing and exporting using Final Cut Express - why does video end up with judder?!!

I've imported material from my JVC HD Camera and have edited a 52 minute sequence on Final Cut Express. I've exported it as a Quicktime Movie and it's 43GB. How do I get this on to DVD?
I've tried using iDVD to export but as you can imagine, the quality is not great. There's a judder on it. I have no idea where to start with using applications like MPEG Streamclip to convert the clip so that when it does get on to DVD, it doesn't judder. Can anyone help? This is driving me insane!!

I've exported it as a Quicktime Movie and it's 43GB. How do I get this on to DVD?
First step - just use this export as the import into iDVD.  iDVD will take care of the necessary encoding to fit it on a DVD disk.  The file size is of no concern; the only concern is the length (in time) of the video ... iDVD can fit about 2 hours of video on single layer DVD media; about 4 hours on dual-layer DVD media.
Regarding the judder, this is not specifically an iDVD issue. Do you see the judder when you play the video  in the FCE Canvas window?

  • Install Soundtrack Pro if already have Final Cut Pro Studio installed?

Should I install Soundtrack Pro if I already have Final Cut Studio installed?

EddyBoy_UK - I've got the most recent FCP Studio 2, with all the updates, yet the option was set to install Soundtrack pro.
I guess I'll get on hold with Apple tech support. Like to ask them if they have a tech note on exactly which files get removed during an install with Logic 7 & Jam Packs already installed.

  • Importing and exporting between Final Cut Pro and After Effects

    Hi,
I'm exporting PAL widescreen footage from FCP to AE, adding some fx, and then exporting back to FCP. I am rendering both ways as a QT with no compression. For some reason, the footage is coming back to FCP a little more blurry than the original footage. Can anyone please suggest how to keep the image quality the same as the original?
    Thanks!

    Sure, anytime.
But we've been seeing some posts about problems going between the workspaces. These color and contrast issues may or may not be related to changing color spaces from Animation to your PAL format or they may have some other cause.

  • Tried to export my Final Cut Pro and I get an error; QuickTime Error: -50.

I am trying to export my Final Cut Pro project and when it is exporting, about 20mins later, it gives me an error.  How can i fix the problem.
    Error code: QuickTime Error: -50

Try deleting preferences (use Preference Manager, a free application).
Also, you may try copying everything in your timeline and pasting into a new project. See if that exports correctly.

  • New Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Pro Updates...

There's new updates for Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Pro on Software Update.
They seem to have fixed the problem I was having with one of my giant old projects. I used to have to open one of the audio projects before my multitrack project would open, but now it opens just fine. So far so good!

    Hi Collings,
Looks like there are two threads about the recent FCP & STP updates, so I'm posting my findings here, too.
I just found another thing that appears to be fixed in STP 1.0.2:
    Batch normalize is working:
I have a bunch of aif files that I want to normalize. I opened one in the waveform editor, applied process->normalize (level=0dB), then selected File->Save as Applescript--this creates an Applescript droplet. Then I can then grab a whole bunch of audio files and drop them all onto this droplet and they all get normalized correctly. This is a huge timesaver for me. Before this update, using this approach to batch-normalize a set of files seemed to deliver unpredictable results, but I just ran a whole set of files through, and they all played back with a peak level of 0dB (and no clipping).
Here are the other things that I've noticed so far with STP 1.0.2:
    Automation:
-In STP 1.0.1, Automation was not applied correctly on project sample rates that were not supported by the hardware (e.g. play a 96K project on a laptop built-in 48K audio interface and the automation was late by 2X) -- this is fixed!!! YAY!
-STP 1.0.1 did not handle long automation ramps across long periods of silence (it would sometimes cause a glitch at the start of the clip right after the automation ramp--there is even a support article about this)--it seems like they fixed this one, too.
    Sample rate switching:
-I see an option in general preferences to allow me to disable the "Switch hardware sample rate to match document", and with this disabled, I no longer get audible clicks from my audio interface when I switch tabs. Plus, switching tabs seems faster to me.
Realtime effects and automation in audio file projects:
-They've added a warning to inform folks about the need to bounce realtime effects and automation to an action--if you are in an audio file project with realtime effects that have not been bounced to an action and you try to save, you get a warning message.
Has anyone else noticed any other fixes or changes in this update?

  • Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Server....can you check-in/check-out?

    Hello!
Just curious how the workflow is with Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Server. We haven't used Soundtrack Pro, but have been thinking about it for Surround Sound projects.

You can check in anything into FCSvr, any type of project file or media file. Unlike checking in/out a Final Cut Pro project, with any other application, you'll need to check out the project file for that app, and manually check out all the media associated with it. Many folks will simply set up the STP, or Motion, or InDesign, or Illustrator project and it's associated media all into the same folder on their workstation. Then check in/out that folder as a "bundled asset". This makes a zip file in FCSvr that holds all of those needed files together. When you check it out, it's unzipped and places on your local workstation. When you check back in, FCSvr re-zips it and replaces the original on it's RAID storage drive.

  • Best video format to export from final cut pro to encore

hi, i'm using final cut pro and no matter what format i export my video in, be it quicktime, mpeg2 or avi, there's still a slight degradation of picture quality when i import it into encore. mpeg2 by far suffers the least. but is there a best video format i can export from final cut to adobe so dat there's minimal loss in quality?

Sure, export it as an uncompressed AVI or QT file.

  • Soundtrack Pro and Compressor greyed out on installation

For some reason the option to install Soundtrack Pro and Compressor are greyed out when performing installation of Logic Stdio.
I had installed Logic Studio previously but ran out of disk space and so uninstalled the program, upgraded my hard drive and I'm now at the point of reinstallation - but can't install those two programs.
Here's a screen shot of what I get AFTER installing what I can:
    http://www.btinternet.com/~wack/screen.jpg
Also, why do some of the programs have 'upgrade' under Action?
    Thanks.

I tried Final Cut Remover, and still had the same problem. I am in the midst of using Pacifist and it seems to be working. Apparently Pacifist copies the compressed files to to your hard drive then extracts and installs the programs. It appears to be working, but I will let you know whenever it finishes if indeed it does the job...
It is free to try and $20 for a donation. It might be a bargain considering the time it will save me...

  • Uninstalling Soundtrack Pro and Loops

With the recent purchase of a MacBook Pro I also acquired the Final Cut Studio HD. I have run out of space on my local hard drive and in the process of cleaning it off and moving programs and files to an external I am looking to delete Soundtrack Pro and all of the Loops that come with that program.
What I am wondering is the best and safest way to remove these files without affecting the rest of the Final Cut Suite.
So if someone can clue me in on the best way to uninstall Soundtrack Pro, Soundtrack Loops, Motion and any program with Final Cut HD without affecting the others I would really appreciate it.
In a related question are the bundled software programs such as iPhoto and GarageBand located on any discs that come with the computer or would uninstalling them leave me without the option to reinstall them at a later date?
    Thanks!
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo/2 GB SDRAM

iPhoto and GarageBand are on the Install discs.
Get the external drive and move your Final Cut files (not the app) there.
I imagine it uses lots and lots of space when editing. so make sure you clear out everything after you finish a project.

  • Can files be exported from Final Cut Pro X trial?

Can files be exported from Final Cut Pro X trial?

It doesn't seem to work on mine, when I go to command: the export button is in grey, whereas all the others (import; customize) are black and can be actionned. Is this a restriction in the trial version or is there a way to activate export?
    Thanks

  • How to export from Final Cut Pro after downloading Maverick

Final Cut Pro no longer exports after installing Maverick.  I get this: The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)  - have paid for Compressor and instaled it - but it makes no difference.

But how do I update Final Cut Pro 10.0.3?  Apple says all my updates for everything are fine.  It worked well before I installed Maverick, and now I can't get any of my short films out of it!  They won't copy over to IMovie so I have to start again and basically scrap Final Cut Pro - which seems a bit unfair just for updating to Maverick.  Makes the free download a bit pricey in the long term.
