Conforming when reopening Saved Projects!..Why?
I am about to do a search in the forum because I have seen this issue come up before...but I have never experienced it myself.
This is going to cripple me on my current project!
So Why does Premiere do this?
All media is on local drives.
Project works fine and is saved and backed up... then re open it and ....Nothing works because of 'Conforming' !

you talking about mov renamed mpg ? thats the only time I saw any 'conforming' at all with the dslr stuff... never saw conforming as mov. DID see conforming as mov renamed mpg. Plus only got sound... which is another issue...

Set a custom duration field using VBA throws the message "Invalid duration" when reopening the Project

With a custom code we set Duration9 in Project 2013.
After executing the code everything seems to be ok.
After saving and reopening the Project it shows a message "Invalid Duration", and the value is shown as estimated (Questionmark).
In VBA create following code:
Sub SetDuration()
    Dim newVal As Long
    newVal = 14400
    Tasks(1).Duration9 = newVal
End Sub
Execute Code.
Close VBA.
Open the Project and you will get the same message box
The only way as far as I found out is to manually retype the Duration in that field. What is not exactly what I want.
Is this a bug in MSP or a hidden Feature? Does anyone has an idea?

I was able to replicate what you saw. I can't explain it per se, but this code seems to get around the issue:
Sub TESTDUR()
    Dim NewVal As String
    NewVal = "30d"
    ActiveProject.Tasks(1).Duration9 = NewVal

No timeline or canvas when open saved projects

Does anyone know why i don`t se the timeline or canvas in FCE 4 when i open old projects? I just bought the new Macbook Pro (model 8,2) and got this problem. The projects i try to open was made on a old macbook. is there a setting or something on the new Macbook Pro? I only see the viewer and brownser.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
You don't have a Sequence open, so there's nothing for a Canvas or Timeline to display. Doubleclick on a Sequence in your Browser and those windows should reappear.

When reopen Premier Pro CC, get message "missing media for these clips". I haven't moved files or anything. Please help.

When reopen a project in Premier Pro, I get the error message "missing media for these clips" and a listing of every file in the project.
When try to view, just get thumbnails with question marks.
What am I doing wrong?

Newbie question:
I've synced my audio and video in the timeline, and linked everything, saved, etc, but when I reopen the project the next time I work on it, the audio is off again by a few frames.
I can't figure out why this is happening. What step(s) am I missing?

I do not use Garageband often, but would love to continue using it for a podcast I make sporadically.
Right now when I open up a saved projects, the playback is incredibly slow, I mean like the beats per minute is way off. I have not idea why this would be happening, but it does.
If I open a project that plays fine and then save it and reopen it it is in this very slowwwwed down time frame.
I would imagine that I have set something incorrect i n the prefs or somewhere, but cannot find a hint as to how and fix this issue.

Here is a big hint. This problem does not exist when I open up the same project on my laptop, a Macbook Intel.
I have always had issues running Garageband on my desktop and perhaps that is enough of a reason to just not do it, but since I have a 32 inch display on the desktop and external speakers, it sure is a lot better environment to work in.

After saving project upon reopening one of my video files and it's corresponding audio is red (both are offline). Attempts at relink result in a warning that the audio will be deleted (which is does when tested).
This project is based on a multicam sequence (2 video files) and using Pro CC (latest Cloud build).
Anyone come across this and/or have a solution? Thanks in advance.

Appreciate your assistance and guidance Mark. Yes, I am a newbie on this forum - and fairly new to premiere pro though have used elements since version 4. I'll answer your leads below.
First off, some bookkeeping & jargon matters:
"you reported the file extension (.mts) but not the codec of the video therein. AVCHD?"
.mts files are Sony AVCHD files. filmed with Sony NXCAM NXU5 camera.

My bad - I exported/encoded the sequence to a new output clip.
Now back to our regularly scheduled troubleshooting. Three questions:
did you start this project in CC7.1 and then update to 7.2/7.2.1 along the way?
I started this in 7.2.0
are either of the clips in the multicam sequence spanned?

I gather that you created the multicam sequence via the new workflow in the Project panel: select the clips, right-click>CreateMulticamSourceSequence. Am I right?
Correct
If so, please create a new sequence, set the timeline to insert sequences as individual clips (via the left-most button under the timecode control), add the multicam sequence to the new sequence, and post a screenshot of the timeline.
Now all of a sudden I am able to open my project file(s) as before with no problems.... very curious.
I did this and then could not find my multicam sequence.... so no screen shot... BUT what happened?

How do i reopen a project so it displays in timeline in fce?or how do i load a saved project into the timeline?

having saved project, closed it.
but then when reopening FCE although the NAME of the project appears in tabs, the CANVAS and TIMELINE do not appear.,nor after a couple of days of
trying (my limit with newstuff) I cannot get the project into the timeline complete so i can start to fine edit etc.
do i have to reload each clip again? ie start over or is there a way of reloading the closed project so i can go from where i left off?

The Sequence icon looks like this:
You may have to trash your FCE Preference files.
This will reset FCE to it's default installed settings.
Searching this forum will tell you how.

Why don't my tags show up when re-saving a document that I previously tagged?

I love the idea of tags. I use them religiously in Lightroom to organize and recall my photos. The one thing that makes tags ineffective though is the amount of effort it takes to enter them. But being a true believer of the value I do it. That being said, the way Apple has implemented tags is driving me nuts.
I create a document
I click save
I enter a name and
I enter tags - BTY I wish I could expand the tagging window to see all the tags I have entered and all the tags that are available
Later I make changes to my document and I want to add tags so I selected save as
PROBLEM - All the tags that I previously saved with this document are gone. I have to renter them. This is horrible!
Why don't my tags show up when re-saving a document that I previously tagged? Is there anyway to get my Mac to recognize that I previously tagged this file and display my tags?
If not, APPLE PLEASE FIX SOON.

Adobe Lightroom issues are best posted in the Adobe forums - not an Apple issue to be addressed, even though it is occurring in a OSX 'Save Dialog'.

HT1583 it burned in idvd and all seemed ok but when it finished saying the project was finished when I played it on the tv it had not burnt the whold project why would this be thanks

• What Video editor
• How did You get material into iDVD
• What did You select in iDVD
frame rate
video format
encoding quality
burn speed (set down ?)
• Brand of DVD used
• Type of DVD used
And all vital info You can think relevant.

Have you found a solution yet? I don’t know if I will be of any help but I was curious and no one else has chimed in yet.
I don’t quite understand all of your statement.
To clarify, you were making SimpleSave backups from Win95 and cannot see them all on the Win7 laptop?
Or
You were copying files over (SimpleSave utility not used) and you cannot see those files on Win7 but you can on the Win95 machine?
Do you have another Win7 machine you could connect the external to, to see if the files are still not showing (one that is not locked for work)?
On the drive that shows full, can you see it in Disk Management showing the correct size of the drive and also another CD drive? Not your real CD/DVD drive, it’s actually a CD emulator that is attached to the HDD for encrypting the backups and all SimpleSave’s have them.
Lastly, did you reformat the SimpleSave drive to Fat32 first?
My understanding is that USB support was quite limited on Win95 machines. Since Win95 is Fat32 and the SimpleSave drive is by default NTFS, I would think it would not work.

Form subforms do not populate saved form when reopened

I have a Livecycle form that I designed with several subforms (all hidden from layout). All the subforms work correctly and appear when prompted by the form user. The problem is that when the form is saved, the previously "unhidden" subforms do not appear when reopened. Essentially, the form opens as designed but hides the subforms that were previously rendered and saved.
Any ideas on what I might have done wrong? I have several other forms utilizing the same design technique, but am willing to admit I flipped a switch wrong somewhere on this one.

First be sure login and password are OK. Sometimes the address starts wit "http://..." and sometime starts with "ftp://...". Try both normal FTP access and Scure FTP access (SFTP). At the end, contact the site's provider.

All other .xls documents created by Mac Office 2004 retained the .xls file extention when I migrated them over to the new MacBook Air.

I know what happened. When I saved the document I somehow hit the Hide File Extension box. Sorry to trouble this group. I simply resaved it w/o activating the Hide File Extension feature.

I have been trying to figure out if I made any accidental changes in Photoshop. So far I haven't found anything. That might simply mean that I don't know all of the places to look. I have called Adobe and been on the support websites and haven't gotten a clear answer. I save as a JPEG with an embedded color file sRGB. Any suggestions on where else to look for accidental changes?
Everyone seems to agree that iPhoto doesn't work well with Adobe and should be avoided in the workflow. Truly, I had no idea! I just like the simplicity. The Mac store never mentioned problems between the two but did offer to help me purchase Aperture. I will use Bridge from now on to view the images and manage folders.
