I dont have a phone thing in my room so i cant do that and theres a wireless connection across the room of me also which uses D-Link but doesnt have the modem in the room, its connected to the downstairs computer but i dont want to connect to that computer, i want the connections to be completely seperate.. If there is any way please please please tell me! tell me everything very specific, im new to alot of stuff especially aebs so i need the advice i can get
also, how in the world would u upgrade ram and storage on an imac 20" if future shop doesnt upgrade it for u, or do they.. i dunno n e ways.. please respond to thiss!!

Hi iSulli!
If there is already a wireless base station downstairs, it's very likely that it is also capable of providing that same signal to you upstairs. Two computers will actually not use the exact "same" signal from wireless router. It's like using water from the same pipe in a house. It doesn't go from one computer to the next - each computer receives a separate stream from that signal, and the router keeps them separate when shoveling all the streams back and forth between the internet and the various computers that the router is serving. That's why it's called - a router.
An aebs IS a router. It's made by Apple rather than being made by the fine folks who make D-link routers. You don't really connect more than one router to the modem to provide multiple signals, as the ISP won't allow it unless you pay for more than one internet connection. If you have DSL, you'd have to get a second DSL line to have another router connected directly to DSL service.
It is possible to have more than one router connected to one signal, but that's generally done by placing routers at a distance from one another, to boost the signal over a wider range so that everyone in a building can receive that signal - it's not done just so each computer can have its own router sitting next to it.
I hope that helps a bit.

I am confused about Icloud. I have a 5 year old Macbook, a 2 year old macbook and a 5 year old mac mini. What exactly do I need to do to get all this connected via Icloud. I also have an Iphone 3G. Help please! Also, I still don't understand exactly what the benefits are. At the moment it seems a lot of hassle to change a system that's been working perfectly well and that I'm very happy with. I'm not at all sure whether the mac mini (1.66 GHz INtel Core Duo) can be brought up to the relevant spec to run ICloud.  Any thoughts?

There are two aspects to iCloud.  One is simply getting an account, or migrating a mobileme account to iCloud.  The second part is using the various features of iCloud to sync contacts, calendars, use music match or photo sharing, and store iWorks documents.
First to get an iCloud account:
If you have a mobileme account, you can migrate by simply logging onto www.icloud.com (ignore any references to Lion and just click through to complete the migration).  If you have OS X Lion or an iOS 5 mobile device, you can create an iCloud account on that device using any valid AppleID.
Once you have an account, you can use JUST the mail account if you wishi - it is a standard IMAP account so you would set it up like any other IMAP email account you have, in whatever client program you use to read email.
To use the OTHER feautes of iCloud, your computers will have to be running OS X Lion (10.7).  Your iPhone 3G will never be able to use iCloud as it cannot run iOS 5 (you need a min. of an iPhone 3GS to run iOS 5).
The requirements for OS X Lion are here - http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html  You need a min. of a Core 2 duo processor so you mini is not capable of running Lion.
So, in your case, the single reasons for iCloud would be if you have a mobileme account, then use the online www.icloud.com to migrate your account so you do not lose your @me.com email address.  You can use iCloud email (without using any other iCloud features) by setting it up as IMAP mail with these settings - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
If you want an iCloud account and do NOT already have a mobileme account, you will need to upgrade one machine at least to Lion in order to be able to create an iCloud account.

  • Confused about XPostFacto and the 8GB Limit - Please help

    Hi all,
I've been running XPostFacto 4.0 on my Apple G3 Desktop (Rev C, 640MB Ram, 533 Mhz G4 OWC CPU upgrade) for sometime and is running great.
But I have a question about the 8GB rule.
This computer only runs off of a Seritek SATA card. There is a 35 GB Raptor drive on it, the first 7.81 GB is the 10.3.9 drive, and rest is for applications and files.
I added a 160 GB Hitachi drive to the SATA card that I moved from my G4 MDD computer. It already has 3 partitions: 30 GB for 10.3.9, 10GB for OS9, and 115 GB for audio production files.
If I wanted to boot off the Hitachi drive, would I have to re-format and create a 8 GB partition?
As is, if I try to boot off the drive I just added, XPostFacto tries to synchronize the files, then it invariably crashes.
I tried reading the manual again, but I get confused about the Mac OS X Installer and the 8GB rule, and so on.
    Thanks!

i wound up erasing the partition on the transferred drive and carboncopycloning the beige's OS X drive to it...and now the transferred drive is booting ok!
now, i'm thinking of copying the whole raptor drive over and re-partitioning the raptor drive (strangely, the raptor appears with about 9 partitions on Disk Utility, though the only two that i created are clickable...wonder if the OS sees this drive as something like scsi).
this is a little asides the point, but on my MDD, the 7200 hitachi seemed to test as "faster" than the 10000rpm raptor in most categories. would the 7200 drive infact be better for OS style-tasks?

  • Confuse about Configuring Oracle Warehouse Builder

newbie here... i am abit confuse on how to configure the Oracle Warehouse builder...
I have 2 database... 1 source and 1 new one...
I understand that i have to install the Runtime Repository in the database computer and the Target Schema through the client's computer...
so all this while... i am just confuse about what to install into the source database and what to install into the new database...
    Please help...

Location is a logical entity in your OWB design that can be either a database schema, a flat file location, an SAP application location etc. Once you complete your design and are ready to deploy the design into the runtime environment, you will have to 'register' the locations by providing the physical details of your location to OWB (user name/password, database, hostname etc.).
I am a bit confused by your configuration - are the source and the target in two separate schemas or in the same schema? Your posts are somewhat contradictory.
If they are in two different schemas, you should:
    1. Create a source module pointing to a source schema (you can then import data object structures from the source schema - i.e. you don't have to create source tables manually in OWB, but you can import them into the module automatically). This module will have a source location (for example SRC_LOC).
    2. Create a target module where all your target objects will be (i.e. where the data will be loaded). This module will have a different location (TGT_LOC). In your target module you will also create the mappings.
    3. When deploying, you will register SRC_LOC with the physical details of your source schema, while the target location will be registered with the physical details of the target schema. The code generated by OWB during deployment will make sure that the data is extracted from the source schema and inserted into the target schema (either by generating and using DB links or by qualifying the schemas in the extraction queries if source and target are in the same database instance).
On the other hand, if both source and target objects are in the same db schema, you can have all your objects in the same target module and you will only have to register the location of this target module when deploying (LOC_TGT).
That said, there can be a variety of reasons why there is no data in the target after you run the extract mapping that have nothing to do with locations, such as logical errors in the mapping (an inappropriate filter or a wrong join), insufficient privileges etc. I suggest you take a look in the runtime audit browser that should contain the error messages relative to your mapping.

  • Confusion about recovery

    Hi ,
I am new to the DBA field and I have a confusion about recovery.
The confusion is if a database is in noarchivelog mode can a database be recovered from commited changes that were there in the redo log files ?
If I provide the path name of the redo log files while using recover database using cancel will it work at all given that the database is in noarchivelog mode ?
Please help to clear my doubts..

Oracle can use the Online Redo Logs for Recovery. Normally this happens in the case of Instance Recovery (e.g. from a server crash or shutdown abort) -- where the datafiles are not restored from a prior backup.
If you restore datafiles from a prior backup, you are doing a media recovery. In NOARCHIVELOG mode, you could not have run a backup with the database OPEN, so the backup would have been run with the database SHUTDOWN or MOUNTed. At the subsequent startup, transactions would be in the online redo logs only until LGWR does a "wrap around" and overwrites the first redo log used after the startup. It is only within this window that transactions are in the redo logs.+
Remember that LGWR uses a "round-robin" algorithm to cycle through the online redo logs. So, if the Online Redo Log that was CURRENT at the time of the backup has been overwritten, you cannot use the Online Redo Logs for a RECOVERy+._
You must also ensure that there are no NOLOGGING operations !!
One thing that you might trip up on is the behaviour of CTAS. A "CREATE TABLE AS SELECT" is, by default LOGGING in an ARCHIVELOG database. However, it is automatically a Direct Path operation in a NOARCHIVELOG database ! So the blocks for such a table would be "corrupt" if you attempt a recovery from the Online Redo Log as the row inserts are not captured.

  • Swamped and confused about products

    Hi guys,
I am new to Oracle middleware products. After looking at a few articles, I am swamped and confused about those products, WebCenter (WC), Content Server (CS), Universal Content Management (UCM).
    1. WC has a built-in content database, part of Oracle database. CS also stores contents into Oracle database. Then what are differences between two types of content storage? Can I build WebCenter with Content Server as the content storage?
    2. WebCenter provides management functions on content. So does UCM. Users could contribute, review and release contents to web via both. Then what are differences between two types of content management? What more does UMC provide than the built-in content management in WC.
    3. Content Server needs a third-party web server (port:80) to publish its content. WebCenter Suite seems use Oracle HTTP Server (port:7777) to render web pages. Is it possible to integrate those two on one web server? Why is Oracle HTTP Server using a weird port?
    4. JDeveloper has the built-in OC4J container. But how can JDeveloper access or interact with Content Server or WC content database? Site Studio can access Content Server directly but only provides very limited portlet or ajax components. If I want to store web pages, static or dynamic, into WC and/or CS, which tool should I use?
Can anybody help me with them? Or please point me to the right direction. I really appreciate it.
    thanks,
    Chen

Plug it in and use the Transfer Purchases function, either from the resulting dialog box or from the File menu. If you need to authorize the computer, choose it from the Store menu.

  • I'm new and confused about "connection" things

I'm new to BlackBerry--I have an 8320 Curve, I'm a small business owner and I'm not connected to a BES. I use the BB Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook and to back up my BB and I've done pretty well on most things, but I still have a few things I'm confused about. In this forum, I'll ask my "confusion questions" concerning data options.
I have a "pay as you go" data plan with AT&T, my provider, because there is virtually no cell reception at my home where I also work. (I'm not using my BB for email since I'm in front of my computer most of the time). I have a home network set up and I've incorporated a router that supports wireless. I've connected a netbook to the wireless network and used it to surf the Internet, so, I know my wireless connection works. I've also managed to create a wireless connection on my BB to this network and on the Home screen, it will display my wireless network's name when I'm here at home, so, I know the device is connected to my network.
BUT, I don't think I'm actually using my home wireless network...I tried the other day by browsing the Internet and then AT&T told me I incurred data charges--which I thought I shouldn't have if I wasn't using their network. Either I'm wrong about assuming they won't charge me if I use my network or I have something set up incorrectly on my BB...can anyone provide some guidance?
Next, I don't truly understand what BIS is...I searched through the KB and couldn't find anything that actually defines BIS...could somebody please explain what BIS is?
Finally, can somebody please explain the difference between "mobile network" and "wi-fi"? It seems, if I turn off "mobile network" I have no connection at all, including wi-fi. Is that the way things should be? But, I can turn off wi-fi and still get a connection (if I go outside as far from my house as possible and face south <g>).
Thanks...and now I'm off to the BB Desktop Manager forum to ask a few questions there!
    Solved!

Hi and Welcome to the forums!
I can help you with one or two of your questions:

BIS is Blackberry Internet Service...a service, hosted by your carrier, that provides a conduit between internet facing email systems (e.g., Yahoo, GMail, etc.) and your BB. Inside of BIS, you create conduits for each of your email providers that you desire to receive OTA email for on your BB. BIS will check your provider on a periodic basis (documented to be every 15 minutes) and only when there is something that needs to come to your BB does it generate any traffic over the carrier network with your BB. BIS is an add-service, only available to those who, from their carrier, contract for The Blackberry Data Plan (as it is usually called) -- a generic data plan is not usually adequate to have access to BIS.

Mobile Network is your carriers network...data and/or voice services provided OTA for your BB. WiFi is wireless networking (802.11a/b/g/n) through your home WAP, hotspots, etc. I don't know if turning off Mobile Networ should or should not affect your ability to continue to use WiFi...I would think they are separate, but I don't have a BB model with WiFi.
I know nothing about the pay-as-you-go programs, but from all you describe, it seems that you may well be using your carrier network at times. You will need to find out (and there are others here who know) how to shut off your carrier network yet leave WiFi running so that you don't incurr the costs of surfing via the carrier network.
    Hope that helps a little!

  • Confused about accounts

We are trying to set up security using account but i'm a bit confused about it.
We have for example a structure like this:
    * Company
    ***** Section 1
    ********* subsection A
    ********* subsection B
    ***** Section 2
    ********** subsection A
    ********** subsection B
    1) When i define a path like company/Section1/subsection A
does the user also have right to company, Section 1 or does he only has right to subsection A of section 1?
1.B) If user has right to company, section 1, how can i give a user only rights to section1/subsection A?
1.C) if user doesn't have right to company, section 1, how do i give a user right to all folders above?
    2) can i define "subsection A" so user has right to section1/subsection A and section2/subsection or does a path always have to start from the root?

Account permission are inclusive.... so if you give some user read permission on Company account then he will get read permissionon Section 1 ,subsection A ,subsection B, Section 2 , subsection A ,subsection B.
If you want to give a user read to one of the subsection then dont give him read permission on any of the parent of the subsection.e.g. you will need to give him access rights on "Company/Section1/subsectionA"
    1
A)only has right to subsection A of section 1
    B) only rights to section1/subsection A, remove his other rights and give him rights to
    "Company/Section1/subsectionA".
1.C) if user doesn't have right to company, section 1, how do i give a user right to all folders above?
can you please elabrate on this question.....
    2) can i define "subsection A" so user has right to section1/subsection A and section2/subsection or does a path always have to start from the root?
I think it will have to start from the root.

  • New bie confused about linking different things BP and org struc

    Dear Experts,
It might sound very silly question but as a fresher to a functional module i am bit confused about all the different concepts.
    1. How actually we start a CRM implementation like after blue printing what are the activities we first start
like do we first config master data and then org structure and then activities.
what is the inter linking between these three , i have read CR100, after reading that i am not able to link each one of them like which one is first.
And last but not least please kindly guide me how to practise the config.
    thanks and regards
    Neel

    Hi Neel,
first go through with CRM Replication (B09) from building blocks

technical information - building blocks library
abt transactions wat ever the std transactions in R3 will present in CRM which already mapped if there r any Ztransactions u have to create the same Ztransactions in CRM for Ztransactions u need to create Zitem categories item category determination and copy controls everything manually and u have to map them, it is not possible to download these from R3 to CRM
    About Business Partners
Watever u r willing to replicate the BPs from CRM to R3 (u can also avoid some BPs not the replicate to R3) u have to do proper settings in R3 in PIDE transaction, u can do here both dimentional replication settings.

  • Some confusion about 3D TV's and Syncing Glasses

There has been some confusion about our ad from last week and the offer to sync the 3D glasses with your TV.
We by no means intend to confuse our customers or offer fraudulent services.  The offer is new to our stores, and our own employees have been in training just this week.  Let me clarify the services included with the Samsung 3D TV offer that appears in this weekend’s insert. Geek Squad will:
Set up and connect your TV + up to 5 components.
Add internet connectable components to your existing wireless network.
Make sure your 3D glasses work.
Review and teach you how to use all of your new gear.
We have some customers who aren’t quite sure how the 3D glasses work, or that the glasses automatically sync with their new 3D TVs.  So this informs them that they can depend on Geek Squad to answer their questions during installation and set-up. There is no additional charge for this – and the Geek Squad 3D installation and networking services are included in the total price of this offer.

Can you give details of how you get to £45 per month?
Phone rental and BB Opt 2 ought not to be more that £32
You can opt for line rental saver NOW and that will seriously reduce your bill.
You can also recontract your BB at anytime and unless you recontracted last May or only got BB last May then you are out BB contract and and can cancel or move or negotiate a deal.
If you are really hard up you could cancel Sky as one senior to another.

the manufaturing number are the same but if you read the info on the first link it says 3.6Ghz and the seconed link says 3.0Ghz now is there a BIG (_*_) Mistake or are the company TigerDirect being too specific causing me to be insane lol huh ? Please help me I am trying to get a 3.2Ghz chip egzactley the same as in link 2 but 3.2Ghz not 3.0Ghz are they out yet?
Please help Thank You very much :P

I am so happy that I am an MSI guy here at this lovely forum I mean you all helped me so much and you did not have to but I do apreesheate it a lot from you guys I do know that I will be tossing plenty of money in to this chip but the reason why it so high at tigerdirect is because you are paying for there name brand and there product but I love shoping at there store because they are always polite there over the phone and I always get there best service there so I don't mind paying an extra few hundread dollors for there stuff.
The reason for tossing so much money into this machine is no im not rich we or shall I say I am avrage I have a good job and still live with my parants so I have no utility bills to pay except insurance for my car every month but other then that I can save up quickley if I manage my money the right way hehe. But anywho I paid for the new from soyo SY-P4i875P Dragon2 Platinum Edition Motherboard capable of 3.02Ghz and will have a 3.00Ghz in it with HT   I bought it from http://www.Outpost.com/ witch I did love there service all around but if you pay by check be prepared to wait for 2 weeks lol god lee don't they know wow to torture there customers hehe so plz use money orders hehe but they sent it airborne express I belive thats what it is called correct me if im wrong. and that was quick hehe and also they make sure the person gets it too by having me sign for the package hehe I love how that works.
I guess you guys are like havent he heard of paragraphs hehe:) Nope sure havent but since I went all out on video and sound I thought hey you know what why don't I dump this AMD and go for Intel pentium but before this desicion came around I was working on my Shuttle AK31 v3.1 and come to find out I ordered the wrong cpu when after I upgraded my bios to handle the xp2100+ cpu 1.73Ghz Thurobroud and was running the 1900+ 1.60Ghz Palimieo or what ever it was called but find out it would on;y run the paliminio chip so I was like well I don't want to overclock my board and put any stress on the board so I will put that 1900+ back in so I take my computer apart and go to take off the volcano 7+ fan made by thermaltake and requires a screwdriver flathead and a bit of skill in there words be carfull and use our product at your risk...lol
anyways the scredriver sliped and broke off a micro transister and I was like oh crap and could had cryed for damaging my babie but I belive it was time to move on and that is why it hapened when it did hehe..
but I called tigerdirect to get back on to the subject and told them what I was confused about and magell was his name I believe and he said yes it was a 3.00Ghz and the HT was what made it clock like a 3.06Ghz processor. So I was like wooo thats a relief and was so happy now I will order all of this below hope yo like my system hehe I know I will.

Also I heard that intel is making a chip next year called the Xeron or somthin and will be 4.00Ghz with HT and the i874 and i8875 chip sets might not be compatible if they change there chip desighn could this also be true too has any one heard this or not? but I will let you go and give your eyes a rest but I thought I should thank yo both for your help and the link I do apreesheate it a lot and hope that everything runs smooth and fast You think?

  • A little Confused About Apps...

    Hi Everyone,
I've been looking at the iPod Touch and it seems like the best-designed player on the market. I'm a journalist and I want to use the Touch to play my interviews, which are voice recordings in WMA format (converted to MP3).
OK, I'd love to do some basic things, and I'm confused about what the June update will offer.
Please tell me if the June apps will allow these capabilities:
    1. Play voice recordings with the speaker instead of headphones
    2. Allow me to create a folder on the home page to go directly to my voice recordings
    3. Drag-and-drop files in Windows explorer directly into a folder on the home page
Yes, I know, I'm trying to use the Touch for an unusual thing, but I think there are a lot of other journalists and bloggers out there who would also use the Touch if it could provide these capabilities!
I'm not interested in fancy games for the Touch. I'm much more interested in expanding basic capabilities.
If I know the Touch will be able to do these things, I'd buy one today!
    Thanks,
    Matt

    neuroanatomist,
Thanks for the response. This is all very interesting...
I understand it's not a real speaker, but I have heard some demos where it was used to play rudimentary sounds. That's why I wonder if it would be good enough for simple voice playback.
I know some people like this, but I don't like is having to always drill down several "layers" to get to my actual recordings. Instead of having to do Music > Album > Playlist, I'd really like to just have folders on the home page. To my mind, this does not sound like a difficult thing to be able to do, though maybe I'm missing something here.
On the drag-and-drop thing: of course, I understand Apple's need to force us to use iTunes. I like iTunes, and use it for music all the time, even though I don't have an iPod at the moment. But it just seems to me that Apple would not suffer if you could drag and drop your valid music files (or voice recordings) directly into folders on the iPod. You'd still have to own legal music files, bought from iTunes.
Anyway, if these hurdles could be overcome, I'd buy an iPod Touch today. At the moment, it's a tough choice. Several other players do some of the things I am asking for, though none of them has the elegance of the iPod.
I just wish Apple would put their elegance together with the capabilities of other players.

  • Confused about the battery...

    Hello everyone,
I'm from Pakistan and I just switched to Mac almost 2-3 weeks ago. Since, they have proper apple authorized dealers here so I finally decided to get one for myself. I had some confusion about the battery and my system and now I'm getting very much concerned and worried as a matter of fact.
I installed coconut battery (as few people suggested me) to check my battery status. First of all, it shows the age of my Mac as 5 months, which is pretty surprising since I got a brand new one and even the condition is of a brand new one so I have no clue why did it say that.
Secondly, I would like to tell the condition of my battery:
Current Battery Charge: 3591 mAh (I'm using on battery power right now)
    Maximum Battery charge: 4068 mAh
    88%
    Current Battery Capacity: 4068 mAh
    Original Battery Capacity: 4100 mAh
    99%
    Additional info:
    Battery-Loadcycles : 12
Age of your Mac: 5 months
    Charger connected: No
    Battery is charging: No
I am just concerned that my battery current capacity decreased to 99% after just 12 load cycles. Why is that? Some people tell that they have a 100% even after using it for a long time and other than that does anyone have any idea why is the age being shown as 5 months when I have only used it for 2 weeks.
    I'm really confused.
Another suggestion that I want is that in Pakistan, we are having major electricity load shedding so I can't keep it on AC power most of the time so if my computer is shut-down and being charged. If the electricity goes and when it comes back and it starts charging to the point from where it left, will that waste the load-cycle or will it continue to charge it from there without wasting cycle? Does that affect the battery life? (Assuming that the computer is shut-down while being charged)
Last thing, should I use it mostly on AC power or is it better to charge it and then drain the battery and then charge it and then use. Till how much percent should I keep using on the battery power and then connect the Magsafe connector?
    Please help people
I'd highly appreciate if you could answer my questions.
    Thank you.

I was told that it is best to keep it plugged in and connected to the charger when you can, but if you are not able to do that then just use battery power. I just know you don't want too many cycles, which means you don't want to drain the battery completely then fully recharge it. You should calibrate the battery, which is pretty much just draining battery then recharging it, every couple of months if you keep it plugged into the charger and don't use just the battery often.

  • Confused about the meaning of  Time Quota Types

I am learning SAP-HCM on IDES 6.0. I am confused about the meaning of Time Quota Type. I have gone thru the SAP documentation, but still not clear about it. Please help me with a few examples. How is it different from Absence Type?

    Hi Gopal ,
Absences are very generic ones that we create which needs to be reflected in IT2001 and dedcution can happen.
Absence Quotas are the limited entitlement that is fixed say ur eligible for 10 days sick leave so here this is a Quota for each year  and so becomes a Quota say Sick leave Quota =10 and will be seen in IT2006.
Now an absence needs to be linked to this Quota for dedcution.
An absence can be or may not be linked to a Quota. This depends on business Requirement.
Let me know if u have further Questions.
    Thanks
    Swati

  • Confusion about required_mirror_free_mb in asm

    Hi!
i have confusion about required_mirror_free_mb in asm.
i have 6 disks with normal redundancy and 4 failgroups.
    SQL> select STATE,TOTAL_MB,FREE_MB ,NAME,FAILGROUP from v$asm_disk;
    STATE TOTAL_MB FREE_MB NAME FAILGROUP

    6 rows selected.
Almost all 6 disk have same space consumption.

    SQL>
Here is my question that how asm desides REQUIRED_MIRROR_FREE_MB i.e 4GB in above case........
    please can anybody answer me.....
    regards
    M.usman

thank you for your reply...now confusion has increased even more....
now i have change configuration a bit....
    STEp 1)
i have 6 Disks each of 2 gb in size And 3 Failgroups FG1,FG2,FG3.
    FG1
    ASMDISK1
    ASMDISK2
    FG2
    ASMDISK3
    ASMDISK4
    FG3
    ASMDISK5
    ASMDISK6
    SQL> select GROUP_NUMBER,DISK_NUMBER,STATE,TOTAL_MB,FREE_MB ,NAME from v$asm_disk;
    GROUP_NUMBER DISK_NUMBER STATE TOTAL_MB FREE_MB NAME
    1 0 NORMAL 2047 1420 ASMDISK1
    1 1 NORMAL 2047 1418 ASMDISK2
    1 2 NORMAL 2047 1420 ASMDISK3
    1 3 NORMAL 2047 1419 ASMDISK4
    1 4 NORMAL 2047 1421 ASMDISK5
    1 5 NORMAL 2047 1420 ASMDISK6
    6 rows selected.
    SQL> select name, type, total_mb, free_mb, required_mirror_free_mb,usable_file_mb from v$asm_diskgroup;
    NAME TYPE TOTAL_MB FREE_MB REQUIRED_MIRROR_FREE_MB USABLE_FILE_MB
    DATA NORMAL 12282 8518 4094 2212
required_mirror_free_mb=4GB as you said that mirroring is per failgroup so it means that the largest failure could occur is that any failgroup fails, failgroup comprises of 2 2gb disk so its 4gb.
    STEp 2)
    I deleted two disks 5 and 6 in FG3
now i have two failgroups FG1 and FG2
    FG1
    ASMDISK1
    ASMDISK2
    FG2
    ASMDISK3
    ASMDISK4
    SQL> select GROUP_NUMBER,DISK_NUMBER,STATE,TOTAL_MB,FREE_MB ,NAME from v$asm_disk;
    SQL> select STATE,TOTAL_MB,FREE_MB ,NAME,FAILGROUP from v$asm_disk;
    STATE TOTAL_MB FREE_MB NAME FAILGROUP
    NORMAL 2047 0
    NORMAL 2047 0
    NORMAL 2047 1128 ASMDISK1 FG1
    NORMAL 2047 1127 ASMDISK2 FG1
    NORMAL 2047 1128 ASMDISK3 FG2
    NORMAL 2047 1127 ASMDISK4 FG2
    6 rows selected.
    SQL> select name, type, total_mb, free_mb, required_mirror_free_mb,usable_file_mb from v$asm_diskgroup;
    NAME TYPE TOTAL_MB FREE_MB REQUIRED_MIRROR_FREE_MB USABLE_FILE_MB
    DATA NORMAL 8188 4510 *2047* 1231
Now still the largest failure could occur is that any failgroup fails, failgroup comprises of 2 2gb disk so its agian 4gb.
But here its showing 2gb here i am confused.
Maybe my concept is wrong please help ...please dont mind anything that i am again n again asking questions.
