While going through SD flow, I just confused between shipping, delievery and shipment. Can you please explain the complete process and tell me what exactly we do in shipping, delievery and shipment.
My e-mail id is [email protected]
Thanks and Regards
Rajat Garg

Hi Rajat,
Shipping:
shipping activities perform before delivering the goods to the ship to party,
like time take to pick the goods, packing of those goods into carts ( as per the its packing system), loading this packed goods into truck ( or any vehicle which uses to ship the goods).
Delivery:
starting from the shipping point, how much time taken to reach the customer,
might be travelling time, stages like,if itz through Air, initially this load should go airport, from there customer country , n frm there to actual ship to party location.
Transporation:
Moving of the goods, in which transporation mode, as we have roadways, railways, by air,
how many stages involved ( itinaries), from which route, all  comes into transporation.

    Hi ,
Can you please tell me the difference between Delivery date and Actual goods issue date ?
Delivery data can be be greater than goods issue date?
    Thanks,
    Ajay

    Hi Ajay,
Delivery date means its the original date on which the delivery should be done.Actual goods Issue date is the date on which goods to be delivered according to the purchase order. There can be delay in the delivery so we maintain 2 objects.
Yes delivery date can be greater than Goods Issue date.
    Hope this clears

  • Difference between delivery related and order related billing

    Hello Friends,
Kindly explain the difference between delivery related and order related billing with an example. Thanks

The billing relevance is controlled by item category of material, which u have assigned to sales document type.
    For example
    1.item category –TAN
Billing relevance is –A- Standard-Delivery-related billing document
So in standard order of material which has to get delivered, we will bill it on its delivery. So billing relevance is delivery related billing.
    2.BVN
In cash sales item category is BVN whose billing relevance is Relevant for order-related billing - status acc.to order qty.
So here we will bill the customer from sales order only, no need to go to delivery.
DON’T FORGT TO REWARD POINTS IF THIS ANSWER SATISFIES YOU.

  • Confuse between SAP Kernel and SAP Installation file

    Dears:
My CPU is ADM 64 bit, but when i try to download the ECC5 which will be installed in linux 32 bit system from SAP site, i find the confuse between SAP Kernel and SAP instllation file.
    1. In the ECC5 download page, i can see lots of oracle download file, some named DVD ORACLE RDBMS 10.2 LINUX_IA32 1 of 4 , some named Oracle 10.2.0.2. for LINUX32. So if the LINUX_IA32 is only for the CPU which is Itanium CPU?
    2. I check the sap update kernel, SAP Kernel 32 bit unicode is devided by sap kernel 6.4 320-bit unicode---Linux on IA 32-bit, so if my CPU is AMD 64 bit, but my os is Linux 32 bit, if the upgrade kernel file Linux on IA 32-bit can be used for Linux 32 bit system whith 64 bit CPU, or if the Linux on IA 32-bit is just for Itanium CPU?

    Hello again
I just checked the pam again, and it looks like i got it wrong. There is still 32-bit available for ECC5.
    ORACLE 10.2       LINUX REDHAT EL5/IA32 32BIT  24.07.2007  Released SAP KERNEL 6.40 32-BIT
So technically it should be possible to install it the way you wanted. Sorry for my misleading post (but hey you should still consider using 64-bit :-).
    Best regards, Michael

  • Describe delivery split and shipment split

i have a sales order, with multiple line items
i want to create multiple deliveries form that sales order(is this process called delivery split? )
can u tell me the process
now can these individual deliveries split or merged to create shipment,
    whats the process?

    Hi Sudheep,
    Shipment document
The shipping document is the central element of transportation planning and shipment completion. It contains all the
information necessary for carrying out transportation.
You create shipment documents using a worklist. Different types of shipment documents have been defined to enable you to reflect in the system the various forms of transportation used in your organization.
For example, you use the individual shipment document to plan and process the transportation of goods from one location to another. You use the collective shipment to move goods from one or more points of departure to one or more destinations. Separate document types deal with inbound and outbound shipments.
You can use shipment documents to:
Combine deliveries into one inbound or outbound shipment
    Specify shipment stages
    o Legs
    o border crossing points
    o load transfer points
    Assign goods to handling units
    Assign service agents
    Specify planned transportation deadlines
    Record actual transportation deadlines
Specify output required for transportation (such as shipping papers or EDI messages)
    Define transport-relevant texts
    Create Shipment Document
    Use
After the status of the delivery is open for transportation planning, it is possible to create a shipment document to schedule the transportation.
Logistics &#61614; Logistic Execution &#61664; Transportation&#61664; Transportation Planning &#61664; Create &#61664; Single document
    T.code: VT01n
Enter your transportation planning point and shipment type. Press enter.
    Creating the shipment cost document
    Use
After the deliveries are scheduled by shipment and the shipment is executed, now it is time to maintain and close the shipment document in order to record all relative information and ready for the shipment cost settlement.
Logistics &#61614; Logistic Execution &#61664; Transportation&#61664; Shipment cost &#61664; Create &#61664; Single document
    T.code: VI01.
After creation of shipment cost doc. You settle the Shipment cost.
Go to VI02, enter shipment cost no.and press enter.
Then go to Overview -- Fright cost items, Select hte line item and double click it.
Go as main menu: Itme --> Acc. assignment, You enter G/L acc. and cost center to which the transportation cost will be posted.
On the Standard change, details – Freight cost items screen, then check the check box “Transfer”, which means you will transfer the relative transportation cost to FI/CO, in this case, the system should determined which Purchase Order will used to settle the cost, so after you check the “Transfer” check box.
Press save button on the current screen.
    Shipment cost settlement and documents:
    Use
After the shipment cost settled in shipment cost document, it has the following affects:
It creates a service entry sheet that refers to the purchase order determined.
It posts acceptance of services performed.
It creates an accounting document for the accruals.
Further subsequent documents are created in FI.
    Reward points pls.

    Govind.

  • Automatic PGI after outbound delivery creation and shipment

    Hi,
I am working on LES part.
Could you please explain me how to do Automatic post goods issue for shipments.
(in our scenario where after outbound delivery, picking, packing shipment takes place.)
Can we use VL23 for automatic goods issue for shipments? (or igoods issue is only for outbound deliveries?)
If so what is the selection criteria for background scheduling-Variants?
    Please explain me in detail
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
You can use report RV56ABST for this. Create a variant and in this variant, you can set auto PGI. Then add this variant to an activity profile in SPRO:
    Log.execution -> transport -> activity profile.
There you can add your variant to any transportation status.

  • Confused between the e6 and c7!

I want a phone that's going to last for a long time. It should withstand regular drops and knocks..is it safe to buy a touchscreen phone with a 'gorilla glass' display? How long is the touch sensivity going to last? Please help. I'm really confused!

touch sensitivity and the phone itself would last many years as long as you take good care of it.
why drop it and knock it on the ground? :/
take care of your things and they will last "forever".

  • Confused between Skype Numbers and Skype to Go

Please forgive a newbie asking dumb questions.I am interested in a Skype Number so people can call me but I see I already have a number under Skype to Go. What is that? Is it the same thing? I am totally confused.Do I apply for a new number? If so what do I do with the Skype to Go number?I am sure that I am missing the obvious. Please can someone give me an idiots guide.Thank you

Thank you very much jsp21c. Your reply is explicit.
But, still, I have problem when, I try to call with my S2G number from my mobile device.
Please note that, I have added in my account/skype to go, under Access number my contacts. But, when I call my S2G from my mobile device, either by using my contacts or an international number, I receive, always, message from the operator that I cannot connect. "We are just having a technical problem, please try again in a few minutes". I have been trying to use, this service, days now...
I have, also, tried Skype chat support. But, chat operator asks for my S2G number, which is personal information data, -since chat service is located allover the world, I cannot reveal my S2G number to a chat operator with unknown reference number and my S2G number be safe, afterwards-. If it haven't been, this, S2G number wouldn't be considered from Skype, a personal number not to be revealed.
Nevertheless, can you help me, on where else, can I contact to solve this technical S2G problem? Or, could I solve this problem by performing, myself, any other actions, and what these actions would be?

  • Confused between network password and WEP!

I wanted to make the wireless network secure in my neighborhood so put a password on my Airport network, but then in the Aiport configuration I chose WEP encryption as well.
When guests come to visit they have to apparently know both the password and the 128 key to get on. So I am thinking I don't need BOTH of these, right? Any reason not to just use a password and let it go at that?
We don't live in a big city or have drive-bys that would try to get on, just neighbors.
    Thanks.

To join a WPA network, a Macintosh computer must have:
    - an AirPort or AirPort Extreme card
    - Mac OS X 10.3 or later
    - AirPort software version 3.3 or later for the AirPort Card
    - The password may be an ASCII password of 8 to 63 ASCII characters, or it may be a hexadecimal password ("Pre-Shared Key") of exactly 64 hexadecimal characters.

  • Confused between form 9i and form 6i

When I try to download oracle form 9i from oracle web site, the list is only the oracle form 6i R2( latest version? i guest).
Is it form 9i and form 6i R2 is the same?

Forms9iAS will be released soon, according to the project manager Ronald Grand ([email protected]). See his message:
"Jan, Oracle9i Forms is still awaiting release. We have actully completed the development work on Forms but as you may know, this is delivered as part of the iAS/iDS suite and so we are awaiting final integration.
With respect to migration to the web. If let me know your specific questions and I will address them. The good thing about going to the the web is that so many customers have migrated it means that alot of the issues you may hit are already well known with readily available solutions.
If you have specific questions, it may even be worth posting on the OTN forum - that way you can get the real world experiences of developers. I always monitor this anyway so I can answer as well."

  • Very confused between PS, LR, and ACR

All images are on my main HD. Computer is backed up via time machine to an external HD.
LR works fine.  PS still opens in the back when PS is open and I open a new DNG image from LR. If I open a PS file from my desk top, right click open in PS it opens in PS. If I open a .jpg or .tiff from LR PS opens in in the front.  If I open a dng from LR to PS, PS opens in the background.
Suggestions? ACR is now 9.+ in PS but not LR? Would that affect it, I think not. Before when they were not the same I did get an error message.

You are correct…..that is what I have. Thanks so tghat is not the issue.

  • Difference between Delivery, Sales order and  Shipment

    Hi
I would like to know difference between sales document, delivery document and shipment.
When is the delivery created? What data will it have?

    Hi
    <b>Sales Documents </b>
Sales-related business transactions are recorded in the system as sales documents. These are grouped into four categories:
    Pre-sales documents: inquiries and quotations
    Sales orders
Outline agreements, such as contracts and scheduling agreements
Customer problems and complaints, leading to free-of-charge deliveries and credit memo requests
If your particular business processes require it, you can process deliveries and billing documents directly from a sales document. In addition, some sales documents, such as cash sales and rush orders automatically trigger the creation of subsequent delivery and billing documents.
Basic Functions Within Sales Order Processing
During sales order processing, the system carries out basic functions, such as:
    Monitoring sales transactions
    Checking for availability
Transferring requirements to materials planning (MRP)
    Delivery scheduling
    Calculating pricing and taxes
    Checking credit limits
Creating printed or electronically transmitted documents (confirmations and so on)
    <b>Delivery Processing</b>
In its role as central object of the goods issue process, the outbound delivery supports all shipping activities including picking, packing, transportation and goods issue. During the outbound delivery process, shipping-planning information is recorded, status of shipping activities is monitored and data accumulated during shipping processing is documented. When the outbound delivery is created, the shipping activities, such as picking or delivery scheduling, are initiated, and data that is generated during shipping processing is included in the delivery.
    Range of Functions
An outbound delivery can be created as follows:
With reference to a sales order
With reference to a stock transport order
With reference to a subcontract order
    <b>Shipping </b>
Shipping is an important part of the logistics chain in which guaranteed customer service and distribution planning support play major roles.
In shipping processing, all delivery procedure decisions can be made at the start of the process by
Taking into account general business agreements with your customer
    Recording special material requests
Defining shipping conditions in the sales order
The result is an efficient and largely automatic shipping process in which manual changes are only necessary under certain circumstances.
    Integration
The Shipping component is integrated under the Logistics Execution component. Shipping is a subsequent activity of the Sales component.
    Range of Functions
The shipping module supports the following functions, which include but are not limited to:
Deadline monitoring for reference documents due for shipment (sales orders and purchase orders, for instance)
    Creating and processing outbound deliveries
Planning and monitoring of worklists for shipping activities
Monitoring material availability and processing outstanding orders
    Monitoring the warehouse's capacity situation
Picking (with optional link to the Warehouse Management system)
    Packing deliveries
    Information support for transportation planning
    Support of foreign trade requirements
    Printing and transmitting shipping documents
    Processing goods issue
    Controlling using overviews of
              o Deliveries currently in process
o Activities that still are to be carried out
              o Possible bottlenecks
