Confused - Color control with multiple utilities available

I have Photoshop 7, Monaco EzColor, NVidia 6800 card with a control panel, and a SyncMaster 193 Plus digital monitor with control software. ALL of these can change the monitor qualities. I use Monaco to profile my scanner and printer - it does a great job; it can profile the monitor also.
My question is: what would be the best overall CM system - which combination of controls (or which one)would be best (the monitor control utility has stopped working and I have turned it off).
I would appreciate very much any advice born from experience.

Thank you, Chris, sounds authoritative.
One more.... some system changes are forcing me to recalibrate printer and monitor (as above). I have a Photosmart 8250 HP. Printing from Photoshop AdobeRGB, I have choices in the Photoshop Print With Preview window, Color Management (or Output) and the Monaco printer profile with Perceptual (which I've been using).
In the HP Properties dialog I have a Color tab with a Color Management box, ("ColorSmat sRGB, Adobe RGB, Managed by Application, and ICM). Up until now I've been using "Managed by Application".
I am assuming this is the best route. Of course, the Monaco calibrating settings would have to be similar. Your comments, please?

How to relate ring control with multiple codes

I've been searching everywhere without finding answer, please apologize if its already in a post. What I am trying to do is to gather different codes and put them together. These pieces of codes control certain devices and currently I am using different interfaces for each device, so I want to control them in the same interface. I am using a ring recessed menu ring in order to select the appropriate device for the desired application. So, if someone could possibly tell me how to put the ring control to work I would appreciate.

Let me start by ensuring my understanding of your question. You have multiple devices, each which require different code to operate them. You are currently using different programs to control each instrument and would like to combine into one. You want to allow the user to select from a Ring Control which device to use then execute the correct code. Is this correct?
Assuming it is, this is fairly straightforward. Add the labels and values to your Ring Control as well as a GO button to your UIR. Add a callback function to the GO button. In the callback function, add conditional code that executes a different block depending on the selected value of the Ring Control. Let me know if you have questions on this process.

Session control with multiple web servers in IE

to understand my problem do the following:
make a page with this code:

Run two (2) instance of web servers (can be a tomcat) in different ports...
open IE and access the URL: http://localhost:8080/test/mytest.jsp
see id number...
access http://localhost:8081/test/mytest.jsp
see id number...
now access http://localhost:8080/test/mytest.jsp again
and will see that IE lost the session and has a different session id.
if you make this test in Nestcape it will keep the same session id when you access the 8080 server again, and is what i want :)
anybody knows a solution to this?
in the real world, my application has a frame with a menu that runs in 8080 server port and the application that are called by this menu will run in different ports in another frame. the problems is that when a call a application in another port, with IE i lost the session from the menu that runs on port 8080. With Netscape work perfect!

this seems to have to do with the handling of sessoin cookies. IE creates one cookie for every browser instance whereas Netscape creates one session cookie for all browser instanced. Linke this Netscape shares a session cookie with the whole application wheres as IE does not.
Just to make it clear: none of the both handling methodes are right or wrong. In my opinionen from the point of security, the IE solution is better.
The only workaround i see is to implement a session id your own. Store it in the session object and the session object into a session manager that can be accessed from both application.

Parental controls with multiple users

I'm setting up a new iMac shared by multiple kids. Is there some way to add "allowed" websites to all of them at once instead of going into each individual profile?

not using built in tools. but it can be done as follows. go to system preferences->accounts and create a group for all users in question.
then install server admin tools http://support.apple.com/kb/DL914 and use Workgroup manager to manage this group and add allowed websites to all members of the group at once.

Network color control -

Had you been using wired networking before you began to set up wireless? Had you given yourself Administration status with command-u, or were you using default TCP/IP and AppleTalk windows? Had you used command-k from the TCP/IP window to name a location (configuration)? Failing that your automatically assigned configuration would have been Default. For some reason, my compression option is grayed out under "File" menu, and when I select a folder with multiple files, or multiple documents, and try to right-click or tap the mousepad with two fingers, I do not get a "compress" option available. Help.

Yes it is, but I have the same problem of the option does not appear with "right click" (I'm actually control-clicking), and COMPRESS is grayed out under the file menu. I'd like to fix it.
Hmm. After finding the Archive Utility,* I tried archiving the folder. It came out as .cpgz, ugh. Found there was a preference to make .zip the default. It worked!
And now…the menus are not grayed out. ?!?! OK.'

Fill-the-gap with multiple gaps - show right answers colored

I'm using CP5 on OSX 10.6.4
I create a quiz "fill-the-gap" with multiple gaps (textfields/drop-down menu) in a single slide.
When a user doesn't fill all gaps he get the info, that he have to fill all gaps. O.K.
When he fills wrong answers he get the info, that it is not correct. But he can't see, which answers are right answers.
Has CP5 (i.e with a variable) the feature to color right answers (i.e the font turns to green) others turns to red?
Or right answers turns to non-editable textfields or drop-downs aren't available after setting the right answer.

I never used CP5 on Mac, just on Windows. So I'm not totally sure my answers will apply.
About your question to see the right answers: normally this will be done during Review, provided you did allow Review in the Quiz Settings (Allow the user to review the Quiz). You can see the message that will be showed when selecting the Review area on the stage and looking at the Properties. The messages can be edited. In the screenshot you see the default messages. For an incorrect answer both the given answer ('Your answer:...') and the correct answer will be put in the Review area during review.
For your second questions: as far as I know, this is not possible with the default dropdown list of the Question slide for 'Fill-in-the-Blank'. It could be made possible by constructing your own Question slide, using the available objects, user variables and advanced actions.

How to control one server with multiple clients via TCP/IP

I am wanting to control a single server with multiple clients. Only one client would be active at a time, so there would be no conflict. I want to use TCP/IP. So far, I have programmed a cluster that passes data back to the server with no problems. The challenge come in when a second client is added to the mix. I have't been able to figure out how to turn each client on and send the appropriate data and then turn it off so it doesn't keep sending the same data to the server.
Here are the things that I have considered and did some preliminary testing, but don't really know how to impliment:
1. Send a numeric on the front of the cluster packet that tells the server that data is on the way.
2. Send a boolean on the front of the cluster packet to somehow turn the server TCP/IP on.
The problem I have found is that LabVIEW TCP/IP doesn't like to be turned on and off. If it doesn't get the data it expects, it goes into a reset mode and that kills the response time.
Any help?

You should consider implementing a set of simple one-byte commands that can be sent back and forth between the Server and the Clients. You can base all of these ideas off the example in the Example Finder under Networking >> TCP and UDP called Multiple Connections - Server.
You will have two loops in the server VI: one to wait for new connections, and one to send and receive data from the existing connections. For instance, after one of the clients connects, it can request control of the server to send data to it by sending the character "R" for request. Every time the send/receive loop of the Server executes, the first thing it can do is to check all the existing connections to see if any of the clients have sent a control request ("R"). If so, it will create a buffer (array) of control requests. This could be in the form of Connection IDs or indexes in the array for a particular Connection ID. Your choice.
After the Server receives a request for contol, if it is not already under control by another client, then it can send a response to the first client on the control request list. For instance, the server could send the first client a "S" command for send. Note that after the clients send their control request, they should execute a TCP Read and wait indefinitely for the server to respond with the one-byte "S" command. Then, once the client in control is finished sending data to the server, it could send the character "X" telling the Server to release it from control.
The example I mentioned above already does a similar thing. Note how when a client wants to disconnect, they send the letter "Q". You can see this in the Multiple Connections - Client VI. The Server then checks each individual connection to see if it's received this one-byte command, and if it has, it closes the connection to the client. This is what you would want to implement, but instead of having just one command, you'll have to distinguish between a few and build up a buffer of control requests.
Finally, if a client does decide to disconnect in your application, they could send the command "Q" just like the example above. At this point, close the connection and remove that Connection ID from the array of connections. You will also have to handle the case that this client was in the request control waiting line when it disconnected, in which case you need to delete it from that array as well.
This will definitely work for you, but it will take some work. Best of luck!

Multiple Thumb Slider with Multiple Track Colors

Hi All,
Does any one implemented a Multiple Thumb Slider component with Multiple Track Colors. Please find the screen shot of the component below which I am talking about.
Any ideas or any link or sample source of code given would be highly appreciated.
If I drag any thumb the colored section between any two thumbs should increase or decrease.

Hi,
There is a sort of workaround I made myself. Basically you set up your slider into a canvas container and add new boxes exactly at the position between your thumb buttons, in order to imitate your 'tracks'. Look the image below and notice that the black tracks are in fact VBoxes. For different colors, make each VBox different backgroundColor style.

    }Above is the code of the constructor of my class called Dancefloor, it attempts to create a panel(the 'dancefloor') with multiple canvasses('patches') on it. The even patches should have the color specified in the constructor, the others should have a complementary color as background. this is done using the last if-statement.
When executing however, all patches have the color specified in the constructur and so you all you can see is a panel with a background instead of a panel with a patchwork of 2 different color canvasses on it

i would suggest if you are going to use a JPanel, simply create an array of Rectangles that represent all of your patches. Then override the paintComponent(Graphics g) method of the JPanel to and use the fillRect(int x, int y, int width, int height) method from the graphics class to draw all of your rectangles something like this

Screen came up with multiple colored lines

When I plugged my phone into the wall to charge it came up with multiple colored lines. It has never done this. I immediately unplugged it and plugged it into my computer. When it started to sync it made a noise like when you scrunch up a piece of paper. The screen looked fine at this point. I checked a few minutes later and a message came up saying that no calls could be sent or received. Contact an apple dealer. I have not downloaded any thing that would be a no, no. Oh and now it won't charge. But it gets really hot to the touch when plugged into charge. It just gives a low battery warning. What did I do wrong???????

Sounds like your logic board went bad. Contact Apple and get it serviced.

How to filter with multiple selection on a single column on external list, currently only one filter per column is available.

I have external list where i want to apply multiple filter for every column like we do in Excel spreadsheet - we can filter a spreadsheet column by selecting multiple checkbox for every column. I am using Sharepoint 2010
Is this possible in sharepoint 2010? Any idea how to acheive that?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use filter with multiple values on a column of an external list in SharePoint 2010.
Per my knowledge, there is not an OOB way to achieve it. As a workaround, you can custom the web part to implement it. There is an articles for your reference:

Hi
This is possible with business work place ( SBWP)
To achive this you need to do some settings
1.OPS6 - Created Person responsible ( in that enter your SAP ID as office user)
2.CJ20N - Maintained person responsible in Projects (WBS Elements)( the same you created in previous step)
So whenever you are getting error message or warning message it will goto your business work place.
3.Business Work Place - Maintained you manager email address for auto forward function
In order to do that select the menu path settings -->office settings -->automatic forwarding
Click create button
Enter your manager mail address in forward to field and select U-->Inetrnet address and enter the time period.
after this above settings ask your basis consultant to check the mail sending related settings in SCOT t code.
If you carry out all the above steps the mail automatically reach your manager mail box.
Please check and replay back
