Confused - how to get my 10gR2 SE safe in terms of standyby or failover?

I set up some 10g Databases in our sites, all ist working fine. Since we only registered all versions as standard edition licences, I learned, that the data guard feature is not available but in enterprise version. By looking at the pricelist, i found that the difference between the two versions is to large only for having the data guard.
By reading 3 books and browsing the forum I am not sure, if that is the only solution, sometimes I find that I can run a standby-db without enterprise edition, but would have to copy the redologs manually - how could I, they change so often, that´s impossible.
So my question, in short, is: how can I secure my db´s against failure the easiest way? A standy would be nice, but not at the price of upgrading all licences into EE - sorry, but our budget will not allwo that.

the difference between the two versions is to large only for having the data guard. I don't think that we can say "only to have a dataguard". The question here is to save your data and failover. That have to take seriously, and not with the light one.
So, or you develop all the necessary scripts to apply more or less automaticaly the logs onto your standby with all the risks which are included, or you buy the EE licence, or you forget the standby solution.
how can I secure my db´s against failure the easiest way?Standby database is not the alone solution, but it can depend what are your requirements to reopen the service after crash.

Confused - how to get my Itunes songs to appear on my Iphone 4S
Sooo confused. Some of my songs will appear with the cloud icon and they WILL play on my Iphone 4S. But sometimes a warning will appear: "you may incur additional charges if you download songs via cellular network." I have a Cloud account, but not paying for yearly storage.
If I purchase a song from the ITunes Store via my Iphone, then it appears with no problem in my Itunes on my laptop. But what I have had forever on my laptop does not automatically appear on my Iphone. If it's my music, or I have already paid for it, shouldn't I have it on all devices with no problem?
Today I left my Iphone with wifi on while driving home from work, and the songs that were greyed out earlier with a cloud icon did play. But that's not alwasy the case.
Please reply if you have an answer. It shouldn't be this confusing.This is a widely reported issue with iOS 7.

Restart the phone and try again. This should resolve the issue. I had a similar issue not to long ago.

How do you get to the firefox safe mode?
The example show what to do when you get to safe mode but it does not show the step of how to get to safe mode. In order to get to the safe mode how do you get there? The steps are not clear, I guess what I am asking is what are the step by step instructions starting from where to do go to get the safe mode choice?
My main problem is my enter button does not work in firefox google search. It will work for a short time and all of a sudden it will stop. How can I fix this problem as well?You can also try to clear the cache and the cookies from sites (e.g. google.com) that cause problems.

I dont know how to get to the Partition and the DiskUtility. Turn it off.
Start it up again and (at the sound of the chime) press and hold the command and the R keys, hold them down until Recovery loads. When it does you will select Disk Utility and you should be on the First Aid tab when it opens, if you are not please select it. Then select the partition (in the side bar, 2nd entry on the list, see picture).
Yours is probably called Macintosh HD.
Once you have selected it go to the lower righthand corner of the First Aid dialog and press Repair Disk.
This will take 10 minutes approximately. Post back when it is finished and tell me what it says. -

Our computer has users that you click to log on. My itunes thingy is on my Dad's and I downloaded Itunes on my user, and i am wondering how to get the apps I downloaded on my dad's itunes, to mine. Thanks for any help.

All media and apps are tied to the Apple ID that purchased them.
Without your relatives ID and password, you cannot update any of the Apps.
I am pretty certain he is also violating Apples terms of service by giving you the apps. -

"MacKeeper" is a scam with only one useful feature: it deletes itself.
First, back up all data.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions.
If you have incompletely removed MacKeeper—for example, by dragging the application to the Trash and immediately emptying—then you'll have to reinstall it and start over.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the other functional components of the software will be deleted. Restart the computer and empty the Trash.
☞ Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
☞ Let MacKeeper delete its other components before you empty the Trash.
☞ Don't try to drag MacKeeper from the Dock or the Launchpad to the Trash.

If you see popup ads for MacKeeper on websites where you haven't seen them before, see below.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.

In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)

I lost my old iphone and have a new 5s.. i need to sync to itunes. i had to donwload manually via tools but i didnt download all four files. now when i plug my phone into itunes it says there is an error bc i didnt download all the files. so when i go into itunes now and check for updates it says its up to date. the problem is with the phone support file i didnt download.
Does anyone know how to get back to the pop up that has the music player update and itunes update bc this is the only place i have seen "tools" to be able to manually update all four files....

i have done this twice in two other posts..
here is my problem.. i started off trying to update itunes, it failed twice and said i needed to install manually via tools.
the only place to get to tools is the pop up box that appears when you click check for updates.. if there is an available update then the pop up shows up with the quick time and itunes files to download. so i finally figured that out. i clicked on tools and manual update, four files were saved to a file. Apple mobile device support, another one similar, itunes, and another one i cant remember. I only downloaded the itunes file seeing as though thats all i needed to accomplish in the first place.
so then i restarted my computer bc you need to reboot and then reopen itunes for update to take effect. once i have itunes back open i plugged in my new 5s which i am trying to sync to my computer to get all my stuff back bc i lost my previous phone over the weekend.. once i plugged the phone in an error stating i needed to unistall the apple mobile device support and itunes and then reinstall. well i dont know where those files were originally stored on my computer AND since my itunes was updated, just not the other 3 associated files, when i click check for updates it says its up to date and then pop up containing the quick time and itunes does not pop up thus i cant get back to the tools tab to manually save the 4 files again.
so i was just going to uninstall itunes all together and then i thought well what happens if it erases all my photos apps songs etc... which would defeat the whole purpose in the first place of me trying to sync my new phone to get all my stuff back.
so i literally have no idea what to do at this point.. if you have read this you are probably just as confused as me... -
How to get the parameter from Java Script into the Parameter crystal Report

Crystal Report is integrated with Oracle 10g. I created the base SQL query for col1, col2, col3 and col4. Java Script pass parameter value (185) to Col1.
My question is how to create crystal report to make Col1 as parameter and how to get the parameter value 185(Col1) from Java Script. Is there any additional code I need to include in the crystal report?

Java script sends the right parameter value.There is no issue in java script.
This is an automatic scheduled process when batch runs, Java script should pass the parameter value and the crystal report should get the value and produce the output report.Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.

How to Get a List of All XMLElements (Follow up to previous posting)

I need a collection (or array, etc.) of all the XMLElement objects in a given document in flat form (just like the "Structure Tree"'s hierarchichal view - only flatened).
I could not find any "normal" way (i.e., built-in property or method) to get at the information. Instead, I found that I had to recurse through the entire XMLElement tree, starting with the Root Element. For a large document, this can take close to a ten minutes, and sometimes I have to do this for an InDesgin Book containing over ten enormous INDD files.
After "கற்பனை Imagine" responded to my previous post about how to get all the XMLTags, I assumed that myDocument.xmlElements would return a collection of all the XMLElements in the Document. Unfortunately, it does not - it returns only the Root XMLElement. Thus, I have to recurse therough the hierarchy of XMLElements under the Root XMLElement - which takes a very long time.
There HAS to be a better way, right?
Would it be better were I to recurse through all PageItems in the document and then recurse through each PageItem's XMLElement tree? I assume that wouldn't make a big difference either way.
I'm open to suggestions...

What do you intend to do with this flat layout of XMLElements? That probably matters a great deal.
If performance is really at play, you can try using XML Rules instead of interacting with the DOM from JavaScript. But they are complicated and confusing and more suited to declarative programming.
Imagine suggests:

Why not stop there? evaluateXPathExpression already returns an array, why iterate over it and push its elements into a new array? What's wrong with the return value? -

This works fine, but this is looping through all the tasks assigned to a user. How do I get the current task ID. I want to use the code inside webdynpro application which is caled as a human activity in BPM. When this WebDynpro application is called I would like to know the current task ID.
As an FYI , UWL configuration passes the current task ID as a Dynamic parameter to "sap.com/tcbpemwdui~taskinstance"
application.
Please help if someone can identify how to get this value in my custom WD.

But i still say a bit confused with your requirement.
The task id gets created only upon creation of a task. And you want this current task id in the BPM Process context? How is it possible unless and until some action takes place and the data is passed from WDJ to BPM Context?

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You installed the "Genieo" malware. The product is a fraud, and the developer knowingly distributes an uninstaller that doesn't work. I suggest the procedure below to disable Genieo. This procedure may leave a few small files behind, but it will permanently deactivate the malware (as long as you never reinstall it.)
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/Frameworks/GenieoExtra.framework
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.
If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Your web browser(s) should now be working, and you should be able to reset the home page and search engine. If not, stop here and post your results.

You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
Finally, be forewarned that when Genieo is mentioned on this site, the attacker sometimes shows up under the name "Genieo support." He will tell you to run a fake "uninstaller." As he intends, the uninstaller does not completely remove the malware, and is in fact malware itself. -
How to get my Drobo FS to mount in Mountain Lion Server.app

Thanks in advance for the help. I am struggling with getting my drobo fs connected to my AE to show up in the server.app. I want to use my drobo fs as a mass storage device for the server since the server has a small hard drive. But I cannot seem to figure out how to get it to show up when I try to start the time machine service or include a folder on the drobo in the file sharing service. Does the server.app recognize or see network drives? The drobo connects as a server to the ML server, do I need to install drobo dashboard to get the server to see it as something else? I tried to create a share with the time machine option to see if it would mount as a local drive but it only mounts as a local. I think I'm on the right track, server.app only sees local drives but is there a way to get it to see my network drobo fs? Also, can I connect the drobo to the server (forgive me if this seems confusing), my mac mini via a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter? Would a direct connect change the way the mini mounts the drobo thus enabiling server.app to see the drive as local?

Also, when the drobo is connected to the AE it is assigned an ip 10.0.1.2, I connected it to my mac mini and the mac mini to my AE via wifi and the server.app had a fit because the ip addresses changed. I was unable to get the drobo to mount. I could reset the drobo as I do not have that much information on it. I could backup the drobo and restart anew which, I think, would allow the mac mini to create an ip for the drobo.I guess in another forum that I posted this the question is not clear.
I want the drobo which is basically a NAS to show up when I try to implement the time machine service in the server.app. I have the drobo mounted and all is working fine but when I try to implement time machine in server it only shows me my internal (local) drive and not the drobo. I am wondering if it is due to the drobo connecting to the mac as a server itself (ip address assigned). Would an adapter help me with this? Such as a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter or ethernet to USB 3.0? would that create another ethernet connection on the mac or could I get the mac to see that connection as it is a USB or thunderbolt connected drive?
