Confusion on the whole iTunes to iPod transfer

Several issues: 1) after buying songs in iTunes, I can't figure out how to get them on to my iPod (video and shuffle) without deleting the songs already there. 2) I got the new songs on to my video iPod and then my library in iTunes don't show all my previous purchases?? 3) I find the website to not be user-friendly for steps to easily continue purchasing songs and adding them to my ipods?? Help?? I'm usually pretty computer literate and this website I find to be difficult

Do you have you ipod set to automatically update or manual update?
Do you have the latest version of iTunes 6.0.4 (3) ?
Do you have all your tunes stored in iTunes in your computer?
(If you have the ipod set to manual update you can just drag and drop and it won't erase other songs!)
I had an issue previously with songs not uploading because I didn't have the appropriate iTunes updated software.

Copy just those files. But that isn't ideal. You really want a differential system that efficiently updates the backup set with all new and updated files. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested strategy.

Kirby has already summed it up nicely. If you really want to ensure, that the recipient will see the the image as an attachment and not as an embedded image, compress the file before you send it. Export the image version in the right size to your Desktop, then right-click (or ctrl-click) and use "fCompress ...." from the contextual menu. Drag the compressed file to the Mail icon in the Dock.
Just in case, you are sending your images to Windows users and have not come across this setting, you may want to check the Mail option in the "Edit" menu: "Always send Windows-friendly attachments".

Are you syncing to a different computer? Iphone will sycn with only one at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
Otherwise, just select what you want to be on the iphone under the music tab and sync. What do you care if it erases? You will be syncing what you want to the iphone.

Everytime I click on iTunes Store it stops working and closes the whole itunes program

I have restarted the computer several times, repaired several apple related programs from the control panel, but the problem persists. It is only when I am using the itunes software on my computer too. The regular library works fine and i can even play itunes radio, it only happens when I click the little "Itunes store" rectangle. I am having the very same problem with iTunes, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and started having the problem after the latest update. I just upgraded to the new 5s and was syncing everything to it, so I figured that I would update my itunes software as well. Which I never do after updating one time and had trouble with it on my old laptop and had to rollback to a older version of itunes. I have tried every suggestion that has been posted in the Apple Discussion area and on other websites no luck what so ever. I figured I will wait till Apple comes out with another update and try again. In the post above I am having the exact problem with iTunes. Looking to back-up and restore the whole iTunes library on the same iMac

I’m looking to export my whole iTunes library (contains about 2500 songs and about 20 hours of videos) to a USB external hard drive, and then re importing the whole library back in to the same Apple iMac. I’m doing this because my current iMac is getting a new larger hard drive, and installing a fresh version of Leopard onto this new hard drive.
The tech specs of my current machine: Intel iMac with 250mb hard drive, 2Gig ram with the latest revision of 10.4 Tiger(I think it is 10.4.11), and the latest iTunes version.
If anyone that has a recipe on how to do this, I would greatly appreciate the wisdom and knowledge you may have.

Copy the entire _iTunes folder_ , not just the iTunes music folder.
When you have everything ready on teh new internal, you can do 2 things.
1 - Copy the entire iTunes folder back to the internal.
2 - Leave it on the external, start iTunes holding the Option key and select *Choose existing library*. Select the *iTune library* file in the iTunes folder on the external.
iTunes will simply now use this for everything.

Confused with the whole Pearsonvue and Certview

I can never get the whole login thing straight with the whole Certview and Pearsonvue.
I have an account with Pearsonvue (submitted my Prometric ID, approved etc) that I was able to login to view the certifications I have taken, etc at one time. Now, I can't even login. I remembered vaguely able to login to Certview using the same email account that I used with Pearsonvue. Now, Certview can't even find my account using that email search link (https://profile.oracle.com/jsp/reg/LostUsername.jsp).
What the heck is going on? Which ones should I be using? And what is the function of either site?

Pearson VUE tracks exams you have taken with Pearson VUE. Just the Exams. Pearson VUE are responbile for exam scheduling, taking, cancelling rescheduleing. Their role is to deliver the exams set by Oracle (and other Instutitions ywho offer exams) through their exam center network. Pearson VUe will say nothing about certification Status
Prior to September 2009 Oracle Exams were delivered by Prometric, where you could view similar hings Pearson view (though only 10 months are kept online); and of course only exams delivered by Prometric.
Certview is a front end system to the records Oracle maintains about an exam and what certifications have been awarded as a result of taking those exams and when they have been shipped. Records are held regards of whether Pearson Vue or Prometric delivered the exam.
You should find you oracle SSO gives you access to Certview if you have previously registered with it, unless you have acquired 2 oracle sso's. Your SSO is working as you seem to have access to forums. ( The key thing with Certview is your Oracle Testing Id. Hopeflly you do not have 2 or more of those).

Blue Screen Error from iTunes to iPod Transfer

When I hit update (iPod Name), it would update the device. However, upon completion, my computer always crashes, giving me the b.s.o.d (blue screen of death).
Is there any way I can fix this?

Files transfer completely into the iPod. The music plays and seems functional.

To load an iPod manually you connect it to iTunes and drag songs and playlists from the library to the iPod icon, there's no cutting or pasting required: Managing content manually on iPod
Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists choose no and it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

I have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4. I have some music on my iPhone, and quite a bit on iTunes on the MacBook. I want to transfer selected tracks from the MacBook, but when I click on 'Rushenette's iPhone' and select 'Music', I have the option to Sync but get a message saying everything on my iPhone will be overwritten with the contents of my iTunes library.
How do I keep the iPhone contents the same, but add a few tracks from the MacBook?

But... I bought the tracks on the phone via iTunes, then later transferred purchases back to the MacBook. All my music is in iTunes already. The MacBook has the complete set, the phone has a subset.
Now I have some more stuff on the MacBook (in ITunes) that I want to put on the phone, but I don't want to fill my phone with the entire music library, just add a few tracks.

HT1660 is there an easy way to delete the whole itunes library and and start again. I notice there is only an add file/folder button but no remove facility

I recently upgraded to the iphone 5 and managed to sort the transition out with little trouble but noticed when I tried to put my music on that Itunes has messed with album info and either it or me has generated several copies of the same albums over the years and it makes it quite dificult to sort it all out before reloading on the phone. To stop the chaos I had hoped to clear the library and start again but cant find a way to do it. I was hoping to sort all my music out in original files and consolidate them into a proper folder. HOw do I do this. I notice there is an add fole and folder button but no take away??? is there an easy way?

Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. If you have multiple references to the same files then don't send to the recycle bin. Use my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. I know that Google and Apple (and by extension Android and iOS) are competing hard for all of us techie music lovers out there who use both ecosytems. Well, Google Play wants to have my entire music library, Apple's ever at the ready with iTunes/iCloud/Match, and now I've even gotten solicitations from Amazon which has a "Cloud MP3 Player" with purchases ready to download that I made from Amazon in 2010, before I ever dreamed of getting MP3 files instead of a physical CD. I mean the liner notes had the lyrics to the songs right? Well, I enjoy looking at lyrics. Anyways, . . .

Yes, one solution is to use both Google's and Apple's services and just duplicate everything everywhere. But, I'd just like to settle on iTunes/iCloud solution, but I have a brand new Android phone that I want to use. The iPhone 5 screen doesn't come close to my Motorola Droid RAZR Max HD! :-) Sorry, all you iPhone folks. You have all the app's., so I have to latch on to somethine for a reason why I stayed with Android!

Apple is pretty much the only one who does not support other platforms and it will be their downfall in the future. I have bought a few hundred tracks (and one movie) from iTunes before the competition started to catch up. Their Cloud service just came into Finland but I've already moved on to others. I've also bought music from Spotify, Nokia Music and Xbox Music. I've been a subscriber of Nokia Music, Xbox Music and now Google Music. I'm also a Netflix subscriber and I have a local IPTV service that also provides movie rentals from various providers - and guess what, they also work on all platforms.
The reality is that today was the first time in a long long time that I've actually even bothered to open iTunes. Lack of platform support will destroy iTunes in the long run. Apple is starting to look like Microsoft once did. Today you can even get Office for almost every platform - even mobile devices.
Limited access and/or features is also one of the biggest reasons that turn people away from legit services. DRM protected music was the reason I had over 20,000 MP3s before it was removed from iTunes. When that happened I deleted all the old files and became a honest, paying customer.

I can connect to App Store and iBooks, and the iTunes store also loads when I open it. But I am unable to login and get unknown error -50 all the time.
