Confusion with name SAP NetWeaver '04

Hello,
I have some confusion with below document.
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/778ac2ee-0901-0010-61a9-a2e174996bd7?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true
The title for this document is :
How Tou2026 Migrate from SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP2 to SAP NetWeaver '04
Now as far as I know....Netweaver 04 is referred for EP6.0...
So the way i read this document title is :
How Tou2026 Migrate from SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP2 to EP 6.0
Can anybody explain me this confusion (how does this document talks about migrating EP6 to EP6).

Saurabh,
Also is SR1 on NetWeaver and SP2 on non-Netweaver environment.
Is this the basic difference.
Apparently, it looks like that. You might want to refer to the SAP Notes or documentation on help.sap.com
Cheers!

  • Problems with installation SAP Netweaver ABAP 7.0

Hello, can someone give me an adice on installing SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.0 trial version, please?
After installing the application server and SAP management konsole and stopping the application server following message pops up. The same message pops up after installing SAP GUI and starting the application server again.
Can this be caused by bad installation of MS Loopback Adapter on my Windows Vista?

Please see how I installed MS Loopback Adapter:
Download the DevCon compressed file, and then extract the files:
    a. Visit the following Microsoft Web site for download: DevCon
    b. Save the Devcon.exe file to a folder on your computer, and then open the folder.
    c. Double-click Devcon.exe.
    d. In the Unzip to path box, type the folder where you want to unzip the files, and then click Unzip.
    e. Click OK, and then Close to complete the unzip process.
    2. Install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter:
    a. At a command prompt, change directory to the folder where you extracted the DevCon files.
    b. Change directory to the i386 folder.
    c. Type devcon.exe install %windir%inf
etloop.inf *msloop, and then press ENTER. You see output that is similar to the following:
Device node created. Install is complete when drivers are updated...
Updating drivers for *msloop from C:WINDOWSinf
    etloop.inf.
    Drivers updated successfully.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Milan,
I´m sorry but i think i´m not able to help you so much. I´ve just installed SAP in my Laptop but with XP-Professinal. At first i had some troubles too and at the end i had to reinstall it to make it run properly so i think i cannot help you very much. Sorry.
Despite this, take a look at the detailed instructions of how to set up MS Loopback Adapter when you execute the file start of the SAP installation. You can check if the MS Loopback adaptor is working or not. And do not forget to search messages in relation with errors (-24700,ERR_DBMSRV_NOSTART, etc...)
Maybe it´s a silly question but it´s really stopped the database ? when you open the SAP Console the server and the database are in grey ?

  • How to integrate non-sap application with sap netweaver trial abap

Hi, I currently have with me SAP Netweaver ABAP trial and Mini SAP BASIS 4.6 D. What i want to do is to see how can i integrate my non-SAP application with SAP.

Please help us with your inputs..
    thanks in advance
    Soujanya

    Hi Soujanya,
This is known issue in BEx tools in this latest release.
We got the same problem and still facing.
We are using BEx 3.5X to access all reports.
Install BEx 3.5 too. Then you get two sub menus to access BEX tools.
Make sure that you open reports in 3.5 BEx Analyser.
I think all reports, which you tried to open in BEx(BI 7.0) are corrupted. try to copy to your datatargets/install (if they are BI Content Reports).
    Good Luck,
    Anand.
Pls give points if this is useful

  • SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial - Running but Dialog Queue standstill

    Dear all,
since today morning I am having troubles with the SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial version which has run now for over 6 months without any issues. The issues appeared suddenly and I didn't change anything to configuration / network. I am going through the forum now since a couple of hours and I have checked the following. I have read that the most common error is, that the log is full. Anyhow I have checked the log files.
1.) Logfiles: I can't see anything in the log file saying that something is wrong. Please find enclosed the log files DEV_DISP, DEV_W0 and DEV_MS:

2.) So I installed the SAP MaxDB Database Manager in order to check the logs and do an archiving. But here seems to be the issue - I can not see the NSP Database instance (see attached screenshot). But how can this be? The log file say that the db connection is ok?
3.) What is really strange to me is the Syslog in the management console --> see log3.png. Why does it say work process in reconnect status?
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this issue? Help is really appreciated and points will be rewarded.
    Best regards
    Maik

Thank you first of all for your answer.
I tried to do so, but in the MaxDB Database Manager I can add the db instance, but I am not able to connect to it (service is running).

  • No mapping property with name - BPM error

    Hi all ,
In our BPM scenario we are getting this error .. "No mapping property with name"
when the message passed from Sender system to BPM
    RFC - BPM - File
    <Trace level="1" type="T">No mapping property with name sap.bc.bmt.wfm.xi.interface.synch.http://test.com/tp/pcs:MI_RecipeDownload_Abstract</Trace>
    <Trace level="1" type="T">MI_RecipeDownload_Abstract really used in process?</Trace>
Few points:  MI_RecipeDownload_Abstract  is my first recv step in BPM
It is also the recv interface for RFC sneder - BPM
Any clue will be very helpful...
    Kind regards
    Goutam

    Goutam,
MI_RecipeDownload_Abstract is my first recv step in BPM
It is also the recv interface for RFC sneder
    >> for rec interface for RFC sender it should be with out abstract. only steps inside BPM must be abstract.

  • Crash in SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK DLL

    Hello community,
I have a problem with the SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK. Once in a while I get a crash with such error message:
Unhandled exception at 0x000007FEF1D3DD6E (sapnwrfc.dll) in bridgeserver.exe.22108.dmp: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x0000000000000008.
Basically I get function metadata, set the call parameters using the API calls and call RfcInvoke. It crashes. The callstack is:
    sapnwrfc.dll!000007fef1d3dd6e()
    sapnwrfc.dll!000007fef1d56613()
    msvcr80.dll!_CallSettingFrame ()
    msvcr80.dll!__CxxCallCatchBlock ()
    ntdll.dll!RcConsolidateFrames ()
    sapnwrfc.dll!000007fef1d5653a()
    sapnwrfc.dll!000007fef1d2c4f7()
    call RfcInvoke from my code
I've got the call stack from one of the two crash dumps I've got. I took a look on the registers and assembly of the top frame and it looks like an indirect acces to a field of a structure but the pointer to structure is NULL.
Is there any way I can debug it further? I'm already pretty sure that the parameters to RfcInvoke are correct (no messed-up pointers).

    Thanks Mike,
For example we want to executie Function Module and need to prepare/allocate TABLE parameter.
In doing so we need to invoke function RfcGetStructureDescHandle is described in doc.
However, we cannot find it anywhere in H files under SAP NW SDK 7.10 dir structure.
Do you have an example of how to create a TABLE parameter (export for example).
We are going to reproduce the symptom with the demo source distributed with the SDK.
    Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated,
    Alfonso

  • Machine Specs for installing SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java Trial version.

    Hi,
can we install SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java Trial on windows x64 OS/machine or all the trail versions work only on 32 bit OS/machine?
I tried installing SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java Trial it on my laptop (Win XP 32 bit) and on a Server (Win 2003 server x64 bit), it failed.
Is SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java Trial version specifies any particular configuration on which it will work perfectly fine without any issues?
your help would be highly appreaciated.
    thanks,

    Only work with 32bits
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Java Trial Version System Requirements
Operating System: Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3); Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 1) or Windows Server 2003
          NTFS-File systems
Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher
At least 1 GB RAM, 2 GB are recommended
Intel Pentium III/1.1 GHz or higher (or compatible)
14GB free hard disk space (8.6 GB for the installed software and 4.9 GB for the installer software)
          High-resolution monitor (1024x768 or higher, 256 colors)
Sun Microsystems J2SE SDK version 1.4.2_XX or 1.4.2_XX (Sun JDK 1.5 not tested). You can download this from Sun Microsystems at http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_XX/index.html. Please note that version 1.4.2_10 may cause installation problems.
If you have already installed SAP products on your computer, you must ensure that none of the systems are called "J2E".
The file C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\services (Windows 2000) or C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\services (Windows XP) must not include an entry for the ports 3601, 3201 and 50000 to 50030. A possible entry can be excluded by using the hash symbol (#).
If no DHCP server is available on your network (which dynamically determines the IP address) or your computer is not connected to any network, you need to install the virtual interface adapter MS Loopback Adapter. This is described in detail within the contents of the download package.
To use SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe, you must install the necessary credential file and activatetial file and activate it using a unique password. Download the latest credential and password from SDN.

  • SAP Netweaver 2004  [and] I.E 7  CONTEXT Menu not working??

    Hello there,
    Installed: SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SPS 15
For some reason when I use Internet Explorer7 browsing the SAP Netweaver Portal. At the Content Administration>>RightClick on <Portal Content> is not working?
Like I mean, I am unable to open up the tiny context menu where you get the options: [New, Open, Refresh, Change ID]
But, when I use Firefox 3 everything is working fine. I can see the context menu opening up, but not in the case of I.E 7.
I got the latest Java SDK installed:  j2sdk1.4.2.18
Please note: I previously had j2sdk1.4.2.09 which didnt fix the above issue. So, I thought upgrading the Java SDK would fix my issue.. but, it did not.
    My O.S: Windows XP SP2.
Any of you had this issue in the past ?  Found solution?
Can you please let me know?
    Thanks
    Dino.

    Hi Dino,
The problem is not with the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SPS 15 but with the browser Internet Explorer7. We have also faced this problem then we installed IE 6. And it started giving the context menu.
    regards,
    Swati
