Congratulations your iPhone has been unlocked!
I decided to update my AT&T iPhone 4S 32GB last night to iOS 6.1.1. I was going to do a normal update and restore process, backed up my phone, ran the update and half way through it glitched and I had to do a factory restore. I figured I could do a manual restore from the backup I had just done so I wasn't too worried about it.
When the update / restore finished I got a screen that I haven't seen before, it Said, Congratulations your iPhone has been unlocked! To set up and sync this iPhone, click continue. The lock screen on my phone was in fact the factory fresh unlock screen so I set it up and then did a restore from the backup I had just done. Everything was restored except for my music, what a pain that is.
My question is, did my phone actually get unlocked? And is there a way to tell other than putting in another carrier's sim card? I bought the phone on contract and I still have about 6 months to go before the contract expires.

First of all, nice to meet you here. Im sorry im just new, so must be iTunes or updating software glitches so this is all impossible. All carriers would not let phone to be unlocked when they are approaching end contract date. So try to contact AT&T and just ask them and describe what problem you have like you mention above and not hurt to ask them. Try that!

If you don't get the message, your phone is NOT unlocked.

Lost iphone 6 : text stating "Your iPhone has been located."
So I lost my phone 6+ a couple days ago, and immediately turned on find my iPhone and put it in lost mode with my roommates contact number. I received a few notifications via email that a location had been identified. There were 2 different locations that were inconspicuous (park and gas station). The following day, my roommate (contact number for the lost phone) received this text: "Apple Inc. Your iPhone has been located. See location."
I understand why I received the locations when the phone came online, but I am confused on why she received this text message. Does that mean it was reported to apple? The message seems legitimate, and the URL is correct. The number it came from has not responded, although it is an active working line. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thank you!I agree, buttons do wear out, but not as fast. I got my iPhone in September 2012. The Home button would have problems sooner than the power button, that I barely use. To bring the phone ON to enter the lock code I use the Home button. I saw another guy claiming the same thing about his phone. To me it seems like a software problem and probably more and more people will complain about this from now on. But If I wait a little between I press the button again and again, it'll work better - that is why I think it's a software problem (and because my iPhone is only several months old and this started to happen suddenly after the update, one of which was supposed to patch the home screen hack). Anyway, you're right, it's under the warranty and I can replace it, but I'll wait a little, maybe for the next iOS update.

I just recieved a notification that says "your iphone has been hacked. All your photo's and calls are compremised"..... Should I be worried or is this a very pathetic attempt of a hacker? Please advise as soon as possible. Below is a screen shot.

Looks really same like the apple office site.
<Link Edited by Host>It is a scam. If your friend gives their Apple ID and passcode, the thieves will be able to bypass the activation lock on the phone.

Where on itunes does it tell me my iphone has been unlocked
I have been given an ipone 3 and O2 have unlocked it for me. I have connected the phone up to itunes and synced it with a new sim card in it but where does it tell me that my phone is now unlocked??? Don´t want to update the phone in case itunes hasn´t recognised the unlock code.

I have an iphone 3GS and I've gotten text messages from 2 different people that i don't know, telling me they can't see the pics that I've sent them & wanting to know what the pics are of. One of the numbers had been part of a group message that I recieved from a friend. I just thought she ended up responding back to me by mistake thinking she was sending a message to the originater of the group message.Then a couple weeks later i got another text from a person I have never contacted wanting to know who I was & why I was sending multimedia messages that she couldn't open. Just trying to figure out what is going on. If I postd this on the wrong group, please let me know which one I need to post this on. Thanks.
Well that's good to know. As far as I know the phone has not been jailbroken, unless it was done before I bought it. I purchased it used from an individual who said it was restored to factory defaults.
It just concerns me that people are texting me telling me that I'm sending them pics that they can't open. I've checked my bill online & nothing shows up that shouldn't be there. -

The carrier, if you know which one the thief used, might know if it connected to their service by checking the IMEI number, not the serial number. If the thief uses a different carrier, that won't help either.

Is there anyway to tell from the Settings menu on the iPhone or from a menu in iTunes that the phone has been unlocked. My wireless carrier has allowed me to unlock my phone because I will be spending an extended period of time in another country. Leaving in a few weeks. They have sent some kind of notification and bit of software to the Apple server. According to the instructions, this unlock instruction will be loaded on my phone next time I sync on iTunes. But I won't be able to tell if the unlocking has been successful until I arrive in this other country and put another SIM card in the phone. So my question: is there a menu on the iPhone or in iTunes that provides any indication that the phone has been successfully unlocked?

I currently have an iphone 5 that was verizon locked but has been unlocked by them because of my contract, the phone is still under the apple warranty but the power button is not working, if it was the case that apple has to replace it with another phone, will they replace with an unlocked phone now?
thanksThe SIM Lock is stored on the Apple Activation Server - if it has been correctly unlocked by a network then this would have been done on the Activation Server.
When you get your replacement handset through Apple they mirror the activation server details of your existing handset and the current SIM LOCK status is mirror'd onto the new device.

My iPhone has been stolen :-(, iv rang my provider and they have blocked it. What I'm wondering is, if the thief will be able to get it unlocked anywhere? if they can will they be able to see my photos? Or does disabling the phone wipe it? I have pics of my babies on there and I hate the thought that somebody could be looking through them right now :-( thank you In advance :-)
