Connect 10.5.8 to 10.8 server
Since updating my macmini server from 10.7 to 10.8 I'm not able to link my older macs running 10.5.8 to the server accounts. Any help?
I'm unable to connect to server with network accounts. Mobile accounts start without a possibility to synchronize with mobile user folder on server.

RSA1 DB Connection from SAP BW to external SQL Server databas.
Hello,
I am trying to connect our SAP BW system with SQL Server Source System through DB Connect in transaction RSA1.
Our BW system is running on Windows and MaxDB platform, therefore have I already added the latest dbmssslib.dll library to the kernel for SQL Server.
But the connection does not work anyhow, I recieve the error "Database error -1 at CON > [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does > exist or access denied." and I am quite sure that my input parameters are correct.
Therefore I wonder if someone has run into a similar problem and what the problem could be?
Best Regards,
Niklas SandstedtHi,
I am sorry that my case was assigned to wrong forum.
That should now have been corrected, however my problem still remains unsolved in one of our systems.
I found note 178949, which fixed the problem in one system. But even though the system setup seems to be identical, the two systems appears different.
The following has been done for both systems:
1. Upgraded kernel to 701 version 111 and added dbmssslib.dll and dbmssslib.pdb files
2. Created Logical system in BD54.
3. Tried to create DB connection in transaction DBACOCKPIT.
In the third step, the setup fails and I receive the following error message when I test the connection:
Database error -1 at CON > [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not > exist or access denied.
Database error -1
All profile parameters AL11-directories also seems to be correct in both systems, so both should find the dbmssslib.dll file.
One issue that I see is in DBACOCKPIT, the checkbox for "SAP Systems with basis release" is unchangeble and marked. This however, I think was changed in the other system automatically when the connection was established successfully.
Has anyone run into the same problem?
Best Regards,

Not able to connect to a queue under a foreign server.
Not able to connect to a queue under a foreign server.
I'm using WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.3.0. The foreign server is running, and can be pinged from this local server. Also the port where queue resides on foreign server, can be accessed through the my local server.
OS used is AIX 6.0 on both servers.
Tried restarting the local server but nothing helps. Same error continues.
HAS ANYBODY FACED THIS PROBLEM? WHAT IS THE CAUSE AND SOLUTION FOR THIS?
It throws following errors:

I have a foreign server created in my local server, where i have already given the provider URL. This foreign server has the one queue and one queue connection factory under it to which I'm referring to.
Under JNDI tree i noticed this, for the queue(NOTIFY_QUEUE) i'm trying to read from one of the EJB:
This page displays details about this bound object.
Failed to create InitialContext using factory specified in hashtable
Also,etc/hosts has already these IP entries. Even after hardcoding the provider URL its throwing following:

Server Connections Interrupted - Mountain Lion, latest client and server upgrade
Hello,
I have seen several errors of a similar kind with no definite fix anywhere on here, so I thought I would post this.
We are running a network with a Mountain Lion Server on a Mac Mini, connected to a router for internet access and connected to a local network for client computers. All the clients are running the latest version of Mac OS X Mountain Lion and are connecting to remote home directories on the server. They also use several group directories.
As of late, they have been getting the message: "Server Connections Interrupted. Ignore / Disconnect all" concerning their group volumes.
I haven't been able to find anything in the logs indicating why this happens, or how to fix it, or why it started appearing.
What have people experienced out there? It appears on all sorts of user accounts, on different computers in different areas of the workplace.
/ Z.Additional data:
There is no WIFI enabled on the network, all is networked using ethernet.
There's a Time Capsule on the Server, which backs up the server data regularly. This seems to be connected one way or another from the threads I've read, but those are from aprox. two years ago while this started happening recently. -
How to connect to a specific database in SQL server
Hi,
How can I connect to a specific database in SQL server? I used the following statement. But my table is inserted to the 'master' database in the SQL server. How can I insert my tables to the specific database tahta I have created before?
Connection con;
String sURL = "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://SERVER_NAME:1433";
con = DriverManager.getConnection ( sURL, sUsername, sPassword);Hi,
When I use the syntax:
String sURL = "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://SERVER_NAME:1433/DATABASE_NAME;selectMethod=cursor";
it gives an error as follows:
problems connecting to jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://SERVER_NAME:1433/DATABASE_NAME;selectMethod=cursor:
[Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Unable to connect. Invalid URL.
What is the way to connect to a specific database? -
I have a 27" iMac connected to several others pc and to Server via router. Very frequently Lan or internet drops in my iMac. I Have OS 10.6.7 with all updates.
Issues like this are going to be related to the network. Intermittant problems are typically due to network interference, have you checked istumbler.net to get a report of your network?

Anyone successfully set up connection pool in s1as with ms sql server 2000?
As subject. Since I have seen a lot of posts about the NoSuchMethodException issue with various dbms providers, and the only "official information" I found thru different forums, google, different sun/javasoft sites and forums are this:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=fsunone%2F8172&zone_32=NoSuchMethodException&wholewords=on
Which is wonderfully vague and provide not-so-much useful information...
As for the information and suggestion posted by other forum members, most or all of them have experience with setting up Oracle, DB2, mySQL, etc., not aimed for MS SQL Server 2000 (you may think, I am just asking for it running MS SQL server with Java... oh well, not my choice)
I still haven't seen any positive feedbacks on how this exception was caused and how to resolve it. I have literally exhausted all leads on how to fix this issue, so right now I'm only interested to know whether anyone in the forum actually have a successful connection pool set up with MS SQL server 2000.
My platform:
w2k sp3
SunOne app server, update1, JDK 1.4.1
latest MS SQL 2000 JDBC driver
This fails with the NoSuchMethodException error:
try {
InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
DataSource ds = (DataSource) ic.lookup("test_db");
con = ds.getConnection();
System.out.println( "con is created -> " + con );
} catch (Exception ex) {
System.out.println( "failed -> " + ex.getMessage() );
This works just fine:
try {
Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1433;DatabaseName=testdb;SelectMethod=cursor", "username", "password");
System.out.println( "con is created -> " + con );
} catch (Exception ex) {
System.out.println( "failed is fucked -> " + ex.getMessage() );
thanks,
--kuanHi,
Thanks for pointing out that article, I did not find it previously. After following the directions in the artile and your advise, now dbping seems to be able to connect to SQL server.
Thank you very much.

How to connect labviewv database toolkit to SQL CE server
Dear sir,
i am using labview 8.2.1 and Database Connectivity 8.2.i need same simple concept of how to connect LV database toolkit to SQL CE Server.When opening the database connection, you will need to provide either a connection string, or a path to a UDL (which will contain a conenction string). The easiest way to get a connection string is to go to (no I am not kidding) www.ConnectionStrings.com. Once there you enter the type of DBMS you are trying to connect to, and the system will list connection strings that you can use based on the drivers that you're using.
How much experience do you have with LV and/or databases?
Mike...
PS: you might also want to check out a series I did a bit ago on database connectivity in my blog. See the link in my signature...

Just like the titre,
Can I use Microsoft Project Professional to connect hyperlink to some documents in the server of our company? I want to share some documents not in my computer, which is in the server of our company.Hello,
Sure you can, right click on required task that relates to the document, at the bottom on that menu you will see "Hyperlink". Click Hyperlink and a new window will open, in the new window in the "address" field type or paste in the web address / file share
address etc. Click OK then you will see a web link appear in the indicator column.

Cannot connect to Oracle 11gR2 database from SQL Server 2005
Both SQL Server (Windows) and Oracle (Linux) are in 64bit environments.
I have done the following on a Windows 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2005:
Install InstantClient from Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Client (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64) to C:\Oracle
Install oledb from 64-bit ODAC 11.2 Release 3 (11.2.0.2.1) for Windows x64 by executing install.bat oledb c:\oracle odac
Note: Not sure whether 11.2.0.2.1 version of ODAC will cause any problem since I cannot find 11.2.0.1.0 version.
I have checked the Allow inprocess of OraOLEDB.Oracle provider in SSMS.
I have executed sp_addlinkedserver @server = 'ORACLE_TEST', @srvproduct = 'Oracle', @provider = 'OraOLEDB.Oracle', @datasrc = '##.##.##.##:1521/TEST'
The ##.##.##.## is the ip address of the Linux server which has the Oracle 11gR2 database TEST.
I have executed sp_addlinkedsrvlogin @rmtsrvname = 'ORACLE_TEST', @useself = 'FALSE', @rmtuser = 'xxxx', @rmtpassword = 'yyyy'
The xxxx is the oracle username and yyyy is the password for the oracle user xxxx.
I know the oracle database TEST is up since I have setup connection in Oracle SQL Developer having:
##.##.##.## as the hostname
1521 as the Port
xxxx as the username
yyyy as the password
TEST as the service name
When I click Test Connection for the linked server ORACLE_TEST in SSMS, it just hang.
When I issue a query like select count(*) from oracle_test..xxxx.table1, it just run forever. I'm not so sure how to query an oracle table. I have also tried select count(*) from oracle_test.xxxx.xxxx.table1.
When I retype the password in the Linked Server Properties, it just run forever.
Do I need to create a tnsnames.ora on the Windows machine?
Do I need to change the tnsnames.ora on Linux machine?
I'm very new to Oracle.This forum is dealing with connections from an Oracle database to SQL Server - so the Oracle database is the driving site and this is the way round from your linked server set up.
As you're suing the instant client you might post your issue in the instant client forum:

Connect Oracle 10g and OWB to SQL Server 2005 in Windows XP
I am unable to create a working connection between Oracle 10g and a SQL Server database. I have followed the instructions in several sources, but when I attempt to connect to the MSSQL database through SQL Plus or SQL Developer, I get the ORA-03135 error. I set up a non-Oracle location in OWB and the connection test was successful but the metadata would not import. Creating an Oracle location with the same parameters produced the ORA-03135 error.
In TNSNAMES.ORA I placed the following definition:
MSSQL =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = wgilt1.hsd1.nj.comcast.net)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = MSSQL)
(HS = OK)
In LISTENER.ORA I placed the following in the SID_LIST_LISTENER:
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = MSSQL)
(ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_2)
(PROGRAM = hsodbc)
The inimssql.ora file contains the following:
HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = MSSQL
HS_DB_NAME = MSSQL
HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = ON
HS_FDS_TRACE_FILE_NAME = c:\hs_fds_mssql.log
What is missing?could be a copy paste issue, but please make sure the tnsnames.ora has at least on space in from of each line after the alias.
In addition what is the listener status? Please post the output of lsnrctl status <listener name>.
Need to know also the output of: C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_2\bin\hsodbc -

Hi,
I'm running SCOM and VMM integration. For the most part everything is working. However I get lots of alerts generated in regards to my scvmm server.
This is a the guide I used:

SCOM + VMM 2012r2 Ur4
One of the Errors(which appears to be root issue):
The PowerShell script failed with below

or the -VMMServer parameter to connect to a Virtual Machine Manager management

If this doesn't work it's likely that your VMM server doesn't work. Check Application log to see if there are errors related to VMM service.
You can also collect traces as described
here and attach them to this thread.
Are you using a domain administrator account? (this is the default allowed after SCVMM is installed - until other users are added).
also try restarting VMM server or VMM services once.
this occur if the SQL database owner is indicated as NULL. Try adding the SQL SA account as db owner.

Cannot connect two computers to the same game server HELP!
I have a Linksys WRT54G Router. I have two computers and I want to be able to use them on the same gaming server. Unfortunately, the game only have one port, so I can only port forward one of my computers. How can I configure my router to have two external IP addresses to the server so it won't kick one of my computers out. Thanks!
Hi,
I am in a gaming community and many members have a Linksys at home (but I don't know which kind exactly). Many of us try to connect two computers to the same server (many have a family). It seems it is a common problem that no one can connect two computers to the same game server.
I have a BEFSR41 V3 Firmware version 1.04.8
I use fixed IP address and no connectivity problem on Internet.
I have win XP SP2 on both computer.
I am using a DSL modem
I can connect the two computers to two different game servers at same time, but not the same server. Default port for this game is the same for all servers I use. I tried with both port forwarding enabled (in that case one PCs can connect the other not) or not (in the second case, whenever the second PC connects, the first one lose his connection to the server, no mater the order I try to connect my PCs).
Now the weird thing is that one member in my community just decided to throw away his Linksys router and he bought another brand (which I won't name to remains politically correct). Now, without changing anything in his PCs or his connection type, he can now play with two PC on the same server.
I am seriously thinking doing the same move. Since more and more game are now using Internet (and servers that controls piracy, $$) and family want to play together, not being able to connect two PCs on the same game server makes Linksys in bad situation from marketing point of view.
For example, in my gaming communtity, we now all know that Linksys can't handle two PC on same server, but other brand can...
Thank you in advance for your help. -
Connect Oracle 9 client from windows 2012 server to 9.0 oracle database
I have windows 2012 64 bit with installed oracle 9.0 32 bit client

I know that oracle client 9.2.0 is too old but company about i work have tests which run on this systemIf you are stuck using antiquated versions of software, the company really ought to stick to antiquated versions of the operating system as well. Trying to combine versions of the Oracle client that weren't even certified on Windows 2003 with a bleeding edge Windows 2012 system is a recipe for pain and suffering. Even if you appear to get things working, there are any number of bugs that will likely crop up over time due to the massive version incompatibility.
If i understood right i can't make connection between oracle 9.2.0 32 bit client installed on windows 2012 to connect to oracle server 10 i?As others have pointed out, you probably can though you'll need to change the firewall rules. As others have stated, the firewall changes you'll need to make should probably be the same for a 9.2 client and a 10.2 client. But if you're determined to work with highly unsupported combinations of software, you're likely to have to embrace the idea that you're going to be blazing some new trails and that you'll have to spend a decent amount of time debugging issues that arise from your very unique combination.
