Connect 4 or 5 isights to one mac

Is it possible to connect 4 or 5 isights to one mac. We have a customer that wants to have 4 or 5 webcams, but I am not sure If you can connect more then 1 webcam up to a computer. It would be alot cheeper this way, instead of buying 5 computers. Does anyone know about this?

You can connect more than 1 iSight to any single MAC and iMovie and iChat will allow you to select which camera you would like to use. In my brief testing, it would not allow you to use both at the same time.

My 8610 all-in-one previous has been working fine as a wireless network printer for both my MAC OS 10 and laptop Win 7 64 bit. Suddenly the 8610 will not print from either device. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for both from HP. I restarted all devices several times and finally reconnected the 8610 to the wireless network using the WPS button on the cable modem. The 8610 is showing a connection to the wireless network on it's display and the computers are both able to access the internet. Still no joy. Not sure what to do next. Suggestions ? ? ?

You will need to delete the keyboard from the other Mac. Simply disconnecting it leaves it still paired with the first Mac.

How do I transfer an imovie project on one mac to another mac?

I need to get an iMovie HD project from another Mac onto my machine to continue editing in iMovie HD 6 - some sound issues that need resolving. How can I transfer the project? The original project is too large to fit on a DVD (Dual layer). Will I have to connect both machines via ethernet and physically transfer it? If so, how do I do this - I need to have an exact clone of the project (all titles, separated audio etc...). Please help!

my girl friend got a iMac running 10.5.4, I have a MacBook running 10.4.11. We got our ADSL connection now running, and use a ZyXEL Prestige Router to connect to the internet. The problem is that only ONE Mac can connect, which is a no-go as we often need to access the internet at the same time (working from home). I tried to put the DHCP off in the router and have it on in the Macs, didn't work, on in the router and off in the Macs, didn't work.
I read the forums but didn't find any help to my problem, and would be thankful if someone is able to help us out.

Well, I hooked up the Airport Express to the ZyXEL and turned off the WLAN off the ZyXEL, and it works fine, both Macs can connect and they don't disconnect every 30 minutes. However, to preserve some energy and possibly to get rid of the ZyXEL, does anyone know if there's a ASDL plug in which I can plug a ethernet cable in so that it goes directly from Plug to Airport?

Trouble connection on ONE Mac !?

I restore (from an other Mac) my iMac G4 few days ago. Almost everything was look fine and work after (some minus trouble connecting the 2 Mac Firewire. Probably some Alias I was using for some Utilities who was unable to work properly)
This morning Adobe Updater said he had an update for Illustrator CS3 and ask me to quit Firefox 3. I did it, Illustrator is now update but I can't anymore get an internet connection with the iMac.
Note that *on the same connection*, my iBook connect as usual.(I know I can't connect both in same time. Is always only one Mac connected)
I check the pref. panel/Network. They have both the same Built-in Ethernet configuration.
I need some help because I don't know where to look to fix it.

Can anyone please advise me on how I can connect more than one ipod to just the one mac computer. I need to set up 3 ipods to work on the one mac computer but each with there own itunes library. thanks

When the iPods belong to two users, there are a couple of recommended methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one is to have individual Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. Each iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists.
Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look at this article and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
Choosing the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (called Sync Music - Selected playlists in iTunes 7) allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod ( for example, around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB Mini or Nano). Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. Is it possible to use thunderbolt cable to connect one mac to another?

Firewire works great, ethernet is very fast...if both machines have Thunderbolt it should work...but what is the purpose of the link? If for networking purposes it is better to use ethernet.

Yup. however, seeing as how it isn't finalized, well this ought to work.
1-connect up your macbook to your parents' mac (file sharing?)
2-open up iMovie (on your parents' mac)
3-click on "project library" in the upper right hand corner of your iMovie window. You should see your other hard drive there, also. drag your project to this drive. If a message comes up about "project" or "project and events", choose project and events
4-launch iMovie (on your macbook) click on Project Library. and the one your transferred should be there. drag it to the iMovie projects list and it should work
oh, one last thing. Both your parents' mac and your macbook should have the same version of iMovie for this to work, so I've been told

Can I use a magic trackpad with more than one Mac at a time?

I am attempting to pair a MTP with a second MacBook Pro. So far I can't get system preferences to find the MTP.
I am wondering whether the MTP can be paired with only one Mac at a time, and that this is why my MBP won't find it.
The reason I am thinking this is because the little booklet that comes with the MTP says 'after you pair your MTP with a Mac, you can pair it again with a different Mac. To do this, you first remove the existing pairing and then pair the trackpad again'.
Can anyone advise, please?
If it can be paired with more than one MBP at a time, any suggestions why my system preferences search for the MTP is not producing any results?

Yes, your keyboard, mouse or trackpad can be paired with multiple Macs. You can even have multiple keyboards, mice or trackpads paired with one Mac. The caveat is that the device can only be connected to one Mac at a time. The device can't be paired or connected with a Mac while it's currently connected to another.
Pairing a device with 2 Macs will be troublesome if the Macs are located within 33 ft of each other. The device will connect with the first available paired Mac and then unavailable to the second. If the Macs are located outside the 10meter range, it's quite easy to power off the keyboard (forcing a disconnect) then walking the keyboard to Mac 2 and powering the keyboard on. I do this with a keyboard from my iMac to a Mac Mini in another room.

Can't get more than one mac online at once with aiport express

Hi, I hope someone can help - I've searched the forum and been on the phone to level 2 support at Apple for 6 hours to no avail!
I have a D-Link DSL 300G+ modem connected to an airport express and can connect to the internet fine on just one mac if I uncheck the 'Distribute IP addresses' option - if I check this option, whatever settings I have entered has prevented me from accessing the internet at all (I have no idea what settings to enter, I have just followed suggestions from Apple).
This problem arose when following Apple's diagnostics on a minor ichat issue, I disconnected my modem and reset my AX settings (until then everything had been fine.) I have called my ISP and D Link and they tell me the issue is with the AX.
This is my first posted question so I hope I have given all the relevant and necessary information.

Let's double-check your AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) settings ...
Perform a "factory default" reset of the AX

Modem/Router Power ReCycling
o Power-off the ADSL modem, AX, & computer(s); Wait at least 30 minutes.
o Power-on the ADSL modem; Wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-on the AX; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the computer(s)
Either connect to the AX's wireless network, or temporarily connect your computer directly using an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, using the AirPort Admin Utility, check these settings:
AirPort tab
o Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
o AirPort Network Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
o Create a closed network (unchecked)
o Wireless Security: Not enabled
o Channel: Automatic
o Mode: 802.11b/g Compatible
Internet tab
o Connect Using: Ethernet
o Configure: Using DHCP
o WAN Ethernet Port: Automatic
Network tab
o Distribute IP addresses (checked)
o Share a single IP address (using DHCP & NAT) (enabled)
Once you verified that you can get Internet access for all of your computers, you should secure your wireless network.
