Connect a mini hifi to my sony bravia kdl-60w610b?

Is there a way to connect my lg LG CM4530 Mini HiFi System to my sony bravia kdl-60w610b?

Hi Folks,
It's easy, there's just a few things you need to know.
Bought the minidisplay to HDMI cable off ebay for about £6.00. Pluged in both ends OK. Had to disconnect the recorder first. Might have to look at some kind of splitter so I don't have to do this every time.
Select the HDMI input on the tele.
At first the TV will only display the basic Mac background picture (stars) You need to 'Mirror' the displays, and sort out the sound.
Go to 'System Preferences' and select 'Displays'. With the Mac plugged into the TV you get an extra tab (Arrangements) at the top of the box. Select 'Arrangement' and check the 'Mirror Displays' box.
Next from System Preferences select 'Sound'. Both 'Internal Speakers' and the TV are listed. Select the TV.
All should be working now.
HD video without Blueray - result!!
Cheers

  • Connecting my macbook pro 13" to Sony bravia via mini Displayport to HDMI

    Hi,
yesterday I bought a new LCD TV Sony Bravia KDL-32EX600 (Full-HD LED) that has 4 x HDMI inputs.
I also bought a mini Displayport to HDMI and HDMI to HDMI cable.
When I connect it to my computer, the screen goes blue for a second and it doesn't recognise any additional displays. There's also no video or sound in the TV, on the right HDMI channel. (I've tried every HDMI input and every channel)
I've tested the TV with another laptop that has straight HDMI output from the gfx card and it works perfectly.
I have up-to-date MacOS and I also upgraded my TV's firmware to the latest.
I thought that maybe the miniDisplayport to HDMI connector is broken but why does the computer try to do something when I turn on the correct channel on the TV?
    I'm out of ideas..

    Hi madhenry,
I know it's a month on from your post, but I thought I'd add that I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm trying to connect my new MacBook Pro (15" core i7) to my Sony Bravia KDL-40EX600 using a mini displayport to HDMI adapter. When I plug the cable in, the MBP screen goes blue for one second then goes back to normal, but the system just doesn't detect the external display.
I've tried the MBP on other monitors and it works fine, so there is nothing wrong with the adapter or cable.
I've also tried plugging two other Macs into the TV (a 2008 15" MacBook Pro and a 2008 MacBook) and the TV works great with both of them.
So, it seems there's something specific to the new MacBook Pros that makes them incompatible with the Sony EX600 TVs.
I just talked to AppleCare about it and after trying a few things (resetting the PRAM, etc.) I was simply told that there's nothing wrong at all with the Mac and that this is simply a "compatibility" issue that I have to put up with. So, it looks like we're out of luck until (hopefully) a new Mac OS update fixes the issue.

  • How do I wirelessly connect my iPad 4 to a Sony Bravia TV?

My Sony Bravia KDL-32W653A recognises that my iPad4 is on my LAN. But I just can't get the iPad content ( videos ) to show up on the TV screen.
The iPad Settings shows the " direct -GC-Bravia" other connection, but it wants to revert to my (John Lewis wireless connection.
If I tap on the other, Bravia panel I am asked for a password. I don't have a password for it and never have had. If I try to use my Apple password or that of my Sony support log-in or even my LAN home group , the iPad just messages:-  "Unable to connect to Diect-GC-Bravia"
I seem to go round in circles and get nowhere- Can anyone out there who has an iPad 4 (retina display AND a Sony Bravia TV help me please?
Maybe even a Sony employee? who owns a similar iPad?
    Davidthebass.

You dont.  Apple won't allow widely used standards and Sony is so behind the times in this area it's painful and almost as bad.  Apple forces you to buy an Apple TV whereas Sony forces you to own an android phone to do this natively.  Surprise!
disappointed I started my smartphone tenure with Apple; had no idea how badly it was going to burn me in about 100 different ways over the years.  All they have on android these days is more efficient hardware...: and since they don't take advantage of it... It's a moot point at the price premium.
as for Sony.  I just spent more than I did on my last car for their flagship and id be satisfied if it costed about 75% less and wasn't a "smart" TV.  Since it is - and this is 2015; the cost coupled with the inability to properly stream or mirror from.... Meh.  Not gonna waste another word.  If neither get it by now, they never will.  Talk with your wallet guys, it's the only language they understand.  Unfortunately they are wise enough to know the sheep outnumber dramatically so it's in vain anyhow.

How do you connect you macbook pro to a Sony Bravia tv with a Belkin cord!?!?!?!?!?!?!? We know how to set it up, but what setting do you put your tv on!?!?!? we have tried everything, but it wont work!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have connected my mbpr directly to a Sony Bravia using an hdmi cable, then set the tv to use the corresponding input port, and it works just fine. Have also connected via airplay -> appletv -> tv (with the last connection via an hdmi cable), which also works fine.

  • Connecting MacBook to Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR9 - No sound through TV

I recently bought a Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR9. I have it hooked up to my MacBook using an HDMI to DVI connection. But, I'm not getting sound through the TV. So, I bought a 3.5mm to RCA (one red, one white connection) cable. I've plugged the red and white connections into all of the red/white ports on the back of the tv but I'm still not getting sound out of the tv.
Can someone please help me with this setup?
    Thanks!!

Does your Bravia also have red and white input jacks on the side of the TV (my Bravia does, on the left). On my Bravia, those are the only audio inputs that are active for all inputs, and they are what I use when I am playing my MB through HDMI (which, as you found, only transmits video).

  • Apple TV doesn't connect with sony bravia KDL-40NX720 TV

I'd like to connect my apple TV (bought yesterday) to my Sony bravia KDL-40NX720.
I connect the Apple TV with the HDMI cable but it doesn't connect to the Sony.
    What can I try?

Do you have a 2nd or third gen Apple TV?  The problem may be you have 3rd Gen which requires a 1080i supporting TV and I am assuming the 720 at the end of your model number means it is a 720i TV.  That would support 2 Gen apple TV but not 3rd.  Is that possibly the problem?
Check which ATV you have and the tech spec of the TV.  If I am wrong please post again so we can look at other issues.
Hope I am wrong by the way!

  • MacBook 13-inch Aluminum (Late 2008) to Sony Bravia KDL-40W5800

    Hello forum,
I am looking to buy a Sony Bravia KDL-40W5800 (Sony link, Amazon link) in the near future. I am going to be using it to play PS3, watch television and DVDs/Blu-Rays, but also I would like to be able to connect my MacBook to it if I wish to. I have been reading the forum and have come across numerous users that have problems connecting their MacBook to their HD-TVs.
    So my questions are:
What adapter cables do I need to connect the two devices (I already own the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, if that's any help) correctly?
Is the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5800 compatible with the MacBook and does anyone have any experience with the TV itself? If so, I would be grateful for any kind of feedback.
    Thank you in advance,
    XtremeFluX

    Hi,
I have been using my macbook (late 2008 2.4 ghz) with my Sony Bravia (KDL 26S2030) for about a year now. I use Mini Display port to VGA and then into my PC input. I am perfectly happy with the picture quality (although you may want to fiddle with you custom settings) and I have never had any issues.
When I was looking originally I came across tons of people who had problems with connecting the Macbook to their monitors. However there was a patch that came out (maybe last march) and so I bought my equipment after that and the mac always connects properly (although be sure to turn your TV on before to put the mini display port in). You will need to calibrate it and that will be that.
I hope that helps a bit.

    @RW4HP ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  Lets see if we can get your sound issue resolved here.
First thing we will want to do is break down each step in the chain of components.
First thing you will want to try is to connect directly to the display with your notebook and try to play the movie.
If no sound go to the next HDMI input on the Display.  NOT THE SONY.  If no sound from each of the input ports on the Display.  Change the HDMI cable.
    Repeat the first steps.
Now if that fails try another DVD.  If you are still having a no sound issue try a new media player.
Switch up to VLC media player.  The only reason I suggest this one is due to the fact that is a free player and is loaded full of codecs that support almost anything.
    VLC Media Player
If this fails to do the job then we shall move on to the removal of the drivers.
Now when you go to uninstall the HDMI driver you will want to do this from safe mode.  This will make sure no other drivers or software are live to make a mess of the removal.
Before you remove the drivers though you will want to download the drivers that are the only supported drivers for your system from this link.
HP ENVY 17-j001eb Notebook PC Drivers
Now boot into safe mode and remove the HDMI drivers and the Graphics and Sound drivers.
    Windows 8 Safe Mode
Once you have done all this the next thing is to follow the steps for troubleshooting HDMI.
    Here are some links.

  • Sony Bravia KDL 32XBR6 BluRay settings

Hey guys, ive had this tv for quite a while now  Sony Bravia KDL 32XBR6
i just got myself a PS3 for the BluRay player, im trying to set it up for the best HD image
so i found this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ngvnnMPbDg and used the same settings they show there for the PS3.
now about the TV settings, i noticed the TV having stuff like Game Mode and video optimizer and CineMotion.
im using a HDMI cable ... but i dont know what to put in those settings
so if i click on CineMotion the options for HDMI are Auto1, Auto2 and Off
if i click in Game Mode they are On and Off
and in Video/Photo Optimizer Video-A, Video and Off
so again, im trying to get the best BluRay image ... what should i put this settings on?
also any Brightness, Color, Contrast, Sharpness opinions?
im new to this HD stuff so pardon my ignorance
    thanks!

The trick is to use the RGB/VGA "PC" input on the Bravia, with the VGA adapter, instead of a DVI to HDMI cable. If you do that, you don't even need DisplayConfigX or SwitchResX at all.

Hi, I just bought a Sony Bravia KDL-48R510C TV. I am unable to locate the web browser. It's not listed in Home-->Applications nor I can find it on Opera TV Store, Please help me in locating the Internet Browser. Does this TV come with an Internet Browser? I have been searching all over the net for a solution for several hours but am unable to find it. I am on a wireless connection with good speeds. Able to access all default internet contents that came with the TV (Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Crackle, VUDU, Opera TV Store). Please help..

    Hello chowpotluri,
    Welcome to SONY Community!
The TV does not have a pre-installed web browser app. However, you can check the Opera TV store to view the latest applications available. The Opera TV Store is always being updated.

  • Sony Bravia KDL-40NX710 doesn't recognize PS3 or LG blue ray player, as 3D compatible

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40NX71, a PS3 and an LG 3D movie player (blue ray player with 3D capability). I will refer to them as "3D-player-device" in this question. I also own a blue ray disc which contains a 3D movie, that is proven to work perfectly fine. To my understanding, both of those devices do not get recognized as 3D compatible from the TV.
I am not a begginer with electronics or computers, I am a programmer with 5 years experience. I have spent about 5 hours today trying to set up my TV to play 3D movies to no success.
I have 4 different HDMI cables and have tried all 4, in every HDMI slot, with every possible combination. One of those cables is 1.4 and one is 2.0.
My TV has 6 HDMI slots. They are tagged as "in", "out", 1, 2, 3, 4. The "in" and "out" are located on the base of the TV and connecting the 3D-player-device there, doesn't get recognized at all from the TV (meaning I don't see it listed when I hit the "Input" button on my remote). As for the other 4 HDMI slots, located in the left side of the back of the main TV body (named 1, 2, 3, 4 respectively), if I try to connect my 3D-player-device there, it does get recognized from the TV.
Efforts to enable TV as 3D compatible:
When I use the TV remote, go to the main menu screen, and go to "Settings" --> "Apparance (or display, I am not sure about the exact word as the language I have is Greek) --> "3D settings" , the option is marked as gray, so I can't select it (even though the 3D-player-device is connected with the television). The TV remote has a button tagged as "3D". Clicking that gives me a message that (more or less) states that "I need to connect a device with 3D playing capabilities". I get the same message in the movie menu when I try to select "Play as 3D".
Efforts to enable 3D-player-device as 3D compatible:
There is only 1 possible way to enable the PS3 as 3D compatible, and that is explained here from the official PS3 website. On this site, at the step 7 I am supposed to see "Your TV supports the viewing of 3D content" and select the inches of my TV and hit "ok". For me, that step never occurs. Instead, it jumps straight to step 8. Which makes my think that the problem is most definitely not related to the PS3 directly.Similarly to the PS3, the LG blue ray player has a 3D option which is marked as gray, so I can't seem to enable the 3D option from the LG player either.

I also contacted both, but didn't find many encouraging signs that anything will be done to correct this issue. To be frank, although not pivotal, I would have considered getting a different computer brand if guaranteed that it won't wreck havoc on my set-up.
    Anyways, just a quick question:
I went through a painstaking effort to restore the Bravia sync. I was hoping that it would just work, but instead had to reboot the PS3 (after hours of internet searching, a simple unplug of the power cord of the PS3 did the trick)
At any rate, I was wondering if I can in some way disable the Bravia Sinc on either the Amp, or the TV when I connect the iMac and then safely (and most importantly) easily connect it again. This would be an acceptable workaround as I don't need Bravia Sync on the iMac. The only downside would be that I need to physically disconend the Moshi adapter (oh well) when I need Bravia sync to work, which is most of the time as I only occasionally would need the iMac connected.
    Thanks

  • Problem getting fullscreen resolution with MBP and Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000

    Hello,
I usually dont post much on forums so sorry if my question is noobih but this time i think i need help so please bear with me. I have searched the web and read lots of posts without anything that helps.
I recently got my new MBP 15 last week and wanted to watch a movie on my Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 TV using XBMC.
So i connected my MBP using the original Display port - DVI converter and then a DVI-HDMI converter. So my picture was connected to the HDMI port of my Sony tv.
After a few adjustments on my Tv using pixel for pixel the best picture i could get was almost 85% of my tv which left me black edged. Using the OSX display setting i got 1080i so i also tested SwitchResX and got out 1080p (1920x1080) but the picture looked the same as 1080i,e.g i still had the black edges. Really cant understand why 1080p does not cover the whole screen to be honest, maybe someone have a good explanation?
When i removed the display mirroring i got the full-screen but on the downside the desktop (on tv) looked somewhat zoomed in so i couldn't see the top-menu.
I also played around with overscan but it did not help to remove it. Without overscan the picture gets even smaller on my tv leaving my with even bigger black edges.
I cant figure out how to get the proper resolution on my tv.
I hope someone with similar TV can help me out. Any other suggestion, ideas are more then welcome.
ps. How does overscan option works anyway, is it not suppose to cover the whole tv screen? why does the picture get the black edges?
    Cheers
