Hi...how to connect Apple TV to ipad2 with AirPlay

Hi. Your Apple TV should be connected to the TV (I'm using HDMI cables) and connected to the internet via a wireless or ethernet connection.
The best way to test AirPlay is to play a movie trailer from the iTunes store. When you play a trailer you will see the AirPlay symbol at the bottom of the screen. Click on it and it will show your AirPlay devices - in your case the Apple TV. Select it an your video and sound will come out of your TV.
I hope this helps. Google the AirPlay symbol. I tried to paste it into this message with no success.

I frequently get the messages "windows couldn't sign you out" (I am signed out) ,"not connected to in the internet" with prompts to sign in again (I don't) and "you're currently working offline", with a prompt to connect to my own locked wireless. None of these statements are true and I ignore the prompts (although my husband did re-sign on to our router once). I find that if I unplug the phone line and then plug it in again, it works. Strange. Is someone trying to get my password?

Can't connect macbook pro to internet with airport extreme

If you have ethernet still on your MBP plug it in by ethernet and tell me if that works.
Tell me how the Airport is setup.. what broadband modem and router you have.
What OS on the laptop? Yosemite I guess.. since it is the most troublesome.
Did it work before whatever change was made? Has it worked in the past? When did it stop and what did you do that coincided with it stopping?
    Upgrade to Yosemite??

  • Connecting Apple TV to router with ethernet cable

help connecting Apple TV to router with ethernet cable

The process is transparent. I have done it before.
Now, it gives me an error message when I try Wi-Fi:
"There was a problem connecting to the network. Check your settings and try again.(5)"
When I try the ethernet cable connection it won't let me do automatic or custom.
I unplugged and replugged the Apple TV box but don't know how else to trouble shoot the lack of connectivity.

  • How can I connect Apple TV to iMac with ethernet

AppleCare told me to plug the Apple TV into the iMac using ethernet to transfer the iTunes content faster with less glitches.  But how do I see the Apple TV screen on my iMac to configure it???  When I connect Apple TV using ethernet, nothing appears on the iMac screen.

This only applies if you have a first generation Apple TV. Also I hope you have a router and are not connecting the ATV directly to the iMac.
Usually I sync my First Generation Apple TV wirelessly, but sometimes I'll have some huge media files I want to sync on it which can take a long time. In those cases all you do is connect your Apple TV via ethernet cable to the same router your iMac is connected to. Don't worry about it not being connected to a tv because all you are going to do is SYNC your Apple TV. If you do not see your Apple TV in iTunes, turn off the Apple TV, and quit iTunes. Then turn on the Apple TV first, wait a minute and then start iTunes. Once iTunes sees the Apple TV, manage your content, then sync it.
Once the Apple TV has completed its sync, quit iTunes. Unplug your Apple TV, and then put the device back by the TV you want to enjoy the content on.
I have done such a thing a few times and it works flawlessly.

I can't quite figure out how to do this. I have a imac g3 and mac mini connected with ethernet crossover. the modem on imac is dead, dial-up connecting though mac mini. i can go through the menus for connecting through internet through ethernet but can't quite get it to connect to the internet on the imac. should I connect to internet on mac mini-then go try to connect over ethernet on imac, or am I missing somthing else in the configuration?

Here's Apple's documentation on how to set up your Mac mini so your iMac can share the mini's modem internet connection.

  • How to connect Apple TV to Projector with no HDMI

I have a projector with S-video, rca, and vga connections but no HDMI.  I would like to get an apple tv and use airplay with my ipad 2.  Are there hdmi to rca or vga converters that will work well with Apple TV.  I've searched different things but it's just confusing me.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
    HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
    Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projectoe which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p or 480p.

  • Connected apple tv comes up with no signal

just brought a apple tv box and connected it to tv using hdmi cable but keeps coming up with no signal
ive disconnected cable five and still happening iknow hdmi cable works as it runs my blueray player

    same problem here!
I have read and spent days for googling it, and there are a lot of people with this problem.
This is more likely to happen if your device is Factory Unlocked.
And it is a pity that i HAVEN'T FOUND ANY SOLUTIONS for this
Haven't met or read anyone with this solved.
mine is originally UK vodafone. it has been factory unlocked and i have gone abroad, restored, and no signal bars, but carrier name appears. But with another foreign SIM card, itHAS GOT signal!! Only with the one i need, is not working.
I hope with a firmware update coming, this will be fixed.
I could link dozens of unanswered questions with the same s**t.
I also noticed, that this problem occured recently ... around November 2011. when iS 5.0 or 5.0.1 came out.

So I am wondering if I can connect my Apple TV to my HP Notebook with an ethernet cable. that would create a connection between them. Then will iTunes reconize it and sync all the stuff to the Apple TV? Will this work??? Please help me.. Will this work???? Thanks in advance!

there is no "older" appletv. they are all identical.
appletv "take 2" is just a software update.

You can try this im also using Curve 9300 3G version 6 o.s
1.Turn Off / Uncheck  your Mobile Network
    2. Enable Wi-fi if theres a WEP just put in it.
    3. Data Service should be ON - can be found on Mobile Network Options
    4. Browse - Browser, Social apps etc

I guess if it is in WI-FI mode we can't call / receive Calls or Text on your network, seems strange in BB.

  • Nokia 5800 - Can't connect to the internet with wi...

I can't connect anymore to the internet with my nokia 5800, not with wi-fi or with 3G and i was able to do it before. When i try to open a page and then i select the connection type it gives me a message "Connection not available" and then another message shows "web: operation failed". I have never changed the configurations to any of the connection settings, so if it was working before why is it not working now? Someone can help me?

    Hi,
Don't know if this will help you, but I think I had a similar problem. Maybe this can help you.
Here's what my problem was, and how I solved it:
    Problems:
    * YouTube stopped asking what kind of connection I wanted, and always connected through 3g, which was OK when I was home, but not good when I was abroad and had access to Wifi.
    * After being abroad using Wifi to connect to Skype, GMail (Google's Java client) and Opera mini I was no longer asked at home if I wanted to connect via 3g rather than Wifi.
This was a problem as I don't have Wifi at my home, and I did not want to connect to my personal email etc through a public Wifi. I prefered using 3g at home as I'm paying a fixed rate to my mobile operator in any case, and don't pay per data amount downloaded.
    Solution:
Removing and reinstalling above programs (YouTube, Skype, GMail and Opera Mini) did not help. Neither did resetting the phone - option 1 in the suggestions below that resets the phone to store settings, but that still keeps all personal data.)
I did not feel like whipping everything on my phone so instead what I managed to solve the problems as follows:
    Under Settings --> Connectivity -->Destinations -->Options --> Manage --> New destination:
    Create a new destination name.
I made one I called Wifi. Then choose an icon from the suggested icons.
Then go into Internet (under the suggested network destinations), and one by one click on all network destinations that are wifi connections and move them to the new Wifi destination that you've just created. This is done by moving the cursor to the wifi point and --> Options --> Organise --> Move to other dest. --> <Choose your newly created Wifi destination>
Once this is done you should have your 3g access points left under Internet, while all your wifi access points are under your Wifi destination.
Now under the Network destinations menu (where you can see all your access points listed e.g. Access point, Internet, Multimedia msg., WAP services, Wifi (the one just created) and Uncatergorised) choose Options again and -->Default connection --> Always ask.
It will now always ask you which connection to use; if you want 3g choose Internet, but if you want to use wifi choose Wifi (the destination just created).
To those who wonder: I always had the settings set to "Always ask". However, in the past because both Wifi and 3g access points where all under the Internet destination I could not choose between them, and after being abroad Wifi always had priority over 3g, and I could not change this priority despite trying to, so I came up with this little hack instead. This works for me. Hope other people find it helpful too!
