Connect Be Quiet PSU RPM control connector to P55-GD65

Hi All,
Apparently you need to connect the RPM control connector that comes with the Be Quiet PSU to the Power Fan connector on the mobo.
Cant find thsi on the P55-GD65, where should I connect it too=
Thanks in advance for any help-

Please don't!! It will fry the mainboard circuits.
Why do you think this is necessary?  The mainboard has a fan controller and the CPU has one.  These are seperate circuits & operating procedures.  Under no circumstances should they be "connected".

  • Control Connector (15 pin) Checking the Dir(CW) Pin#4 and Dir(CCW) pin#12

    Hi,
I want to check the output (digital 5V) from my Control Connector in the UMI-7774 on Axis#1.
    The Control Connector (15 pin) has Dir(CW)  Pin#4 and Dir(CCW) pin#12
which i need to connect to my Servo motor drive (Forward and Reverse inputs in the Motor Drive, Both 24VDC).
I connect these pins : Dir(CW)  Pin#4 and Dir(CCW) pin#12 to the Forward and Reverse inputs in the Motor Drive,
I use a 24vdc relay with 5v coil (of the relay), and as i test it in Motion Assistant the Servo motor NOT MOVE !
So, i wanted to test if the  Dir(CW)  Pin#4 and Dir(CCW) pin#12 actually output 5v and i connect for each one led (with resistor).
The circuit i connect for testing that is this:
    [pin#11  (Digital ground)  ] ---- [LED] ---- [RESISTOR] ---- [pin#4 Dir(CW) ]
    same for pin#12 Dir(CCW)
i start Motion assistant for Simple move. Straigh Line Move. I hit "Start" and Nothing.. The Servo Motor doest move.
Please Note that  the encoder of the Servo Works Fine. When i move manualy(by hand) the Motor
I see in the MAX that the encoder position changes.
In Addition, When i input 24vdc into the Motor Drive,
(i connect the 24vdc common into the Forward Input of the Motor Drive, in order to set the Motor Drive to Move Always Forward)
and then use the MAX or other Sample Program For simple move on One-Axis its work,
The Servo Motor Run and stops, i get the values from the encoder, the servo move.
BUT, why i cant move the Servo when the Dir(CW)  Pin#4 and Dir(CCW) pin#12 connected Directly (through 24vdc relay offcurse)
To the Motor drive as it should be.
attached image for my umi and motor drive, the way i connect it.
    Thanks for any help.

I see no one has responded to your multiple posts over the past few days. I'll try to help but I have no experience with the UMI-7774.
    1. Could you please edit your diagram to show exactly how the relay contacts and coils are wired up. My intuiation is that the signals coming out of the UMI are inadequate to turn on the relays. A clear wiring diagram will help me figure out what may be happening.
    2. What is the manufacturer and model number of the relays used. Or also provide a web link to a data sheet if possible.
    3.  What is the manufacturer and model number of the 3rd party servo drive.
    Thanks

  • Quiet PSU suggestions

I am upgrading in the near future (see my sig) and wanted to make a quiet system that could also do some moderate overclocking (I'd be happy with 10-20%).
However, after lurking here for a while, it appears that the Antec 380W PSU with only 18A on 12V may not be up to the job. So I am looking for an alternative that would also be quiet.
The Enermax 465 and Aspire 500 seem to be popular choices, but how quiet are they? They have manual fan controllers, but can you really run them at low fan speeds?
Are there any other PSUs that would be quieter without significantly upping the cost? I looked at the Thermaltake Silent Purepower 480 but it only has 18A on 12V, and also at the Enermax Noisetaker series but they have dual 12V rails.
    Thanks.

The Tagan 480 is the most quiet PSU i've ever used and i've used quite a few silent PSUs so far. The build quality is excellent and if you do some reading on other forums you'll find many people who agree. I own the 365W Enermax and it's significantly noiser in comparison (to my ears). According to reviews the Enermax is around 40dba and the Tagan peaks at 28dba (5dba = double the noise). I bought myself one after i realised how quiet it was when i built a pc for my friend. It's a really nice PSU.
BTW, game lag has nothing to do with the PSU. It's most likely your internet connection or hard drive.
Some general figures (correct me if i'm wrong):
In terms of amps on the 12v line:
    1. PC Power and Cooling Turbo-Cool 510 (34a)
    1. Enermax, OCZ (33a)
    2. Tagan, Vantec (28a)
    3. Seasonic (25a)
    4. Antec (22a)
    5. QTechnology, Zalman (18a)
    6. SilentX (17a)
    In terms of noise levels:
    1. Tagan (using this now), Zalman (according to another user)
    2. QTechnlogy, Seasonic, SilentX (I've tried the QTechnology and Seasonic)
    3. OCZ (I read it's noiser than the Tagan even though they're the same inside)
    4. Antec True Blue (from reviews)
    5. Enermax (i've used the 365W version)
    6. Vantec (very noisy according to reviews and boards)
    * Don't know the exact noise levels of the Turbo-Cool but with a 40cfm outtake fan it should be on the bottom of the list in terms of noise.
    Hope that helps!

  • Quiet PSU - antec Phantom 500

    Hi there.
I am putting together a new HTPC. I have bought the K8N Diamond and i am wondering if the Antec Phantom 500 power supply would be a good choice. I am looking for a really quiet PSU and this seemed to fit the bill, but seeing i am new to all of this, i am not sure if its the right choice.

    Thanks in advance!

I am not really going to recommend a brand of PSU, but I will tell you what I have experience with.
    Antec = Good
    Aspire = O.K.
    Enermax = Very Good
    OCZ = Very Good
PC Power and Cooling = Very, Very Good
    Tagan = Very Good
Any of these power supply makers will do you good, just be aware that with current CPU and high-end video cards, multiple optical and hard drives, it is best to look for a PSU with a healthy +12v rail of 20 to 24amps or more. No PSU under 350W is approved by AMD for their Athlon64's, so go with a 400+ wattage rating. Look for a PSU that is compliant with newer motherboards....24-Pin main connector, 2~6-Pin connectors if running dual 6800 and up video cards. A healthy amount of SATA connectors, a 4-pin connector for CPU power......I am currently building a system to test PSU's with dual rail +12v lines, as I don't recommend those at the present.
"PC Power and Cooling = Very, Very Good"   wish I could get 1

  • PSU Fan Moniter Connector

I have a Antec True550 EPS12V 550W power supply, I am curious about the blue/back wire ... it says PSU FAN MONITER CONNECTOR. It's a 3 pin connector. Does MSI 865PE support this? I wonder, since the power supply has auto temp controller for salience.

But it will Not Speed up or Ramp Down Without you Adjusting it Manually, as there is No thermal sensor , The Only thing that it will do Is Report the PSU'S Fan Speed in RPM'S...But If the NB Fan Header did have a Thermal Sensor (Or the Best would Be The Sytem Fan Header But this Lacks even the Speed Monitoring Function as it is only 2 Live Pins) But if they Both Had Thermal and Speed Sensors, that Would Make these Boards Absolutely Complete, As That Is My Main (and Only) Gripe about these 2 Boards, is the Lack of Fully Functional Fan Headers, and Put 4 of them On the Boards, Like almost everyone else does, Not that I use them as I Use my PSU to Power my Case Fans, But it would be Nice just in case I decided to use them, and for the people that do rely on them......But I have Already Suggested this in the MSI Survey..............Sean REILLY875

  • How to test the connection between DSD backend and DSD connector

    Dear all,
I am configuring the MDSD scenario .. and i want to insure that my customization is correct
How to test the connection between DSD Backend and DSD connector ??

    Hi Viren,
    The problem is:
We have a new BW system. The basis people asked me to check the connection between this BW system and the R/3. There is only one client for now(100). I have logged into 100 and tried executing RSA1 to check the connection, but it gave a message box saying "You can only work in Client 000". Then I have treid logging into 000(just to make sure) and tried executing RSA1. Even here I got a message saying "The SAP BW system must not be operated in client 000". Now, I am not sure of what is wrong in clien 100. I am not sure if I have to do some settings before I access RSA1 or any other BW transaction. Could you please help me in this.
Also, I just checked the RFC destinations in BW. There is a destination created for our R/3 and I have noticed that they have given a remote UserID and password for remote login. I tried to check the Remote UserID in SU01 but there is no userID with that name. Could this be a problem?
    Thanks,
    RPK.

  • Connection Properties for the BI JDBC Connector

    Hi
I am trying to configure BW 3.5 java component. In the Connection Properties for the BI JDBC Connector, there are four required properties. (UserName, Password, URL and DRIVERNAME) What should I enter for the URL and DRIVERNAME? I am using Oracle920.
    Please help,
    JW

    I found this info at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/htdocs/jdbc_faq.htm
Oracle is replacing the SID mechanism for identifying databases with a new services approach. This has been available in the database since 8.1.7. JDBC now supports services in the connect URL.
The basic format of a service URL is:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:[<user>/<password>]@//<host>[:<port>]/<service>
    jdbc:oracle:oci:[<user>/<password>]@//<host>[:<port>]/<service>
    Examples:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@//myserver.com/customer_db
    jdbc:oracle:oci:scott/tiger@//myserver.com:5521/customer_db

  • The maximum number of connections per source ('20') for this connector has been reached by this source IP address

Receive connector 'Connector Name' rejected an incoming connection from IP address "IP of our load balancer". The maximum number of connections per source ('20') for this connector has been reached by this source IP address.
I understand that I can up the limit - however, I'm wondering if there is a way to up the limit for ONE specific IP (our load balancer)
    TAG

It does not look like you can up the limit for a specific IP but you might be able to create a separate receive connector for that IP address (and then change the limit).
That is just a thought. Others may have more input on why you may or may not want to do that in practice.
What SMTP traffic would not be coming from the load balancer?
Is the objective to *not* allow some other (possibly malicious) source from creating excessive connections to the server?
Otherwise, this is a good discussion about the different parameters that must be considered if you do decide to adjust the values (changing one may not suffice):

  • [MSI P55-GD65] Different XMP readings from MSI Control Center, CPU-z, BIOS

    Hello,
    I have a MSI P55-GD65 with a 4 GB Corsair XMP DDR3-1600 CL8 kit (2x2GB, in dual channel configuration),
however I am getting very different readings for the XMP profile from MSI Control Center, CPU-z and the BIOS.
Here is a screenshot from CPU-z and Control Center: http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/2217/xmpv.jpg
The memory is rated at 1.65v for 1600mhz CL8, however control center reports it as being 1.5v, CL9.
CPU-z reports timing rate to be 2T, however when setting the RAM settings to XMP/Auto in the BIOS (which automatically clocks to 1600 mhz, CL8),
timing rate gets set to 1T (which tends to be unstable with CL8).
So my question is: how can I reliably read the XMP information? My bios is the latest version by the way (v1.9).

    Quote
the bios readings are almost the same, except that the BIOS sets 1T timing.
The BIOS readings (or: what the BIOS actually sets) is not that important when we talk about SPD/XMP Profiles.  When you are in BIOS Setup you should be able to find Memory-Z which does nothing else but reading the SPD/XMP Profiles that are programmed onto the SPD Chip (regardless of what the actual settings are).
    Quote
So I'll just use the bios XMP settings but change the timing to 2T and see if that is stable.
Yes.  AND: The fact that the BIOS automatically sets the Command Rate to 1T instead of 2T is not okay.  Please report this problem to MSI Technical Support: http://support.msi.com/

  • Quest for the Ultra-Quiet PSU

Is anyone prepared to swear by any particular unit?
I can only speak to the Corsair HX1050 Gold, and while it's quiet enough on low-load tasks, there's no mistaking it for "whisper quiet" when playing video.  Depending on background noise levels and whether audio is playing, that noise may not be noted.  By its an unmistakable engine when playing HD video in a quiet room without an audio track.  The source appears to be the PSU fan, and the sound insulation in the case doesn't appear to be much help.
    How typical is this?

See the following noise curve from Newegg for the HX1050:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139034
And here is one for the new, very configurable, and pretty expensive AX1200i (I have theAX1200 which does not have the user configurable load vs. fan speed capability):
    http://www.corsair.com/power-supply-units/ax-series-power-supply-units/ax1200i-digital-atx -power-supply-1200-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-fully-modular-psu.html
So, let's say you are really pulling 450 watts.
For the AX1200i you would be at 37.5% load and from the chart, 10db (pretty darn quiet)
For your HX1050, you would be 43% loaded and from the chart at about 25db; every 3db of sound level makes a significant difference, so 15db is certainly substantial
Their charts show fan speed per load, but I'm pretty sure the fan speed is actually thermostatically controlled, so if the inlet for your p/s is getting warm air, it will be running faster for a given load.
My p/s is pulling air from underneath the case so it is the same temperature as the room. If yours is configured with the inlet from inside the case, then that air will indeed be warmer. For my Coolermaster case, I can choose which way the p/s is installed; your case may or may not allow for this mounting option.

  • Cannot connect to SMTP server using Outlook Connector

    Hi All,
I am trying to connect outlook client to my oracle mail server in OCS. I have succefully installed the Outlook connector but when i try to connect it gives me the following error:
    The SMTP server is unavailable.
When i click on retry it gives me the option to enter the Server name, i type the server name with fully qualified domain name. ( i can ping the server from the client pc from where i am trying to connect). But no luck at all.
However i am able to send receive e-mail from the wb client, no issues at all, which means my SMTP server is up and running. I have also verified that listener_es process is up and running.
Any suggestions or ideas would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dipak.

    Hi Naqi,
You are absolutely correct. I added the client in /etc/hosts file and it all worked well.
Not just connecting the client but also when i telnet on port 25 i dont get the spam error.
ALso, i have seen lots of your input on the forums and has been very helpfull.
    Thankyou so much.
I will be attempting to migrate some of my users via export/import from .pst file. These users have about 9000 mails in their mail box. During the normal migration i had errors and couldnt migrate these users. Let me see how it goes now.

  • Error trying to Connect to WSE 2012 R2 with Connector Software - The server is not available

I had to completely reset my MS Surface Pro 3 due to virus activity, so it was wiped and reinstalled. It had previously connected to the Server without
hiccup. Ever since doing this I cannot reconnect using the SERVERNAME\Connect process - it continually fails. I have reviewed the forums and web for a week trying different solutions to no avail. I would appreciate it if someone could advise?
    I have:
Ensured that the Connector Software update is not installed from Installed Updates
Checked the Bindings in IIS Manager against the WSS Certificate Web Service and it is set to SERVERNAME.
Ensured my time on the Client is synchronised
Tried connecting using the original PC-Name and when that didn't work, I have tried a new name and removed the old device from the server.
I have ensured that I am on a Workgroup.
The install process finds the server sets up connector and asks for my network user name and password and then continues for a fair time until it
    comes back with the error”:
"The server is not available/ Try connecting this computer again, of for more information, see Troubleshoot connecting computers to the server.”
I am not sure how much of the log to include as it all doesn’t fit:

I am running a Telstra ADSL modem with a separate Cisco router and Netgear Switch.
I would appreciate any help I can get please as I am a novice and do not understand a lot about the certificate and DNS errors.

Would you please try manually set the DNS address on client NIC to the IP of your server, then try run the connector again?

  • Connecting RGB/VGA monitor to ADC connector on G4

I've got a G4 that has a Nvidia GeForce2 MX video card with an ADC and RGB/VGA connectors on it.
The RGB/VGA connection is completely broken. I have hooked up 5 monitors to it and they are all awful looking with color problems and major banding all over the screen.
the ADC port is fine. but I am giving this to a friend who only has an RGB screen, not an apple display.
Does anyone know of an inexpensive adaptor that will allow me to hook up an RGB/VGA monitor to the apple ADC connector on the video card of this G4?
    Thank you

The adapter just takes the analog video signals from pins on the ADC plug and connects the to pins on the VGA socket. It doesn't do any electronic conversion. Since the board is only designed to run one display at a time, it is unlikely they use two digital to analog converter chips. They probably run the output from one converter to both connectors on the board. If the analog is bad on the VGA connector, it probably will be bad from the ADC. You may be lucky, but with the current prices of ADC to VGA adapters, I wanted to warn you that it may not work.
