Connect document libraries via connections

Hi,
I need to connect two (or more) document libraries using 'Connections'.
I created a new page.
Added 2 document libraries.
I want the user to be able select a customerid in document library 1 (Customer)
I want to use the customerid selected in document library 1 as a filter for document library 2 (customer details).
Problem: I do not see the connections option on a document library.
Any ideas?
Thnx!
I want to the following for document libraries:

Hi,
Which permission did you use? I had check again with only edit permission, the connections option worked well.
Did you check with other pages? You can create a new page, then check whether it works.
Did you use the compatibility mode or add the site into trusted sites?
You can use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
You can also add the site into Trusted sites.
Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Sites->add the site into the Websites, then check whether it works.
What's more, you can use other browsers to check whether it works, such as Firefox, Chrome.
Thanks & Regards,
Jason

  • Users are unable to synchronize document libraries with OneDrive for Business

    Hello,
We are having an issue with our users attempting to synchronize document libraries with OneDrive for Business. When a user tried to synchronize the document library either via the "SYNC" button on the document library page using IE or by
manually entering the document libraries path into the OneDrive for Business desktop app they receive the following error
"We can't connect to the specified SharePoint site". The users have the Edit permission to both the site and the document library. I have performed the following actions in attempt to get the synchronization to work.
    1. Tested giving user the owner permission to the site and document library. same result.
    2. Performed a repair on the users Office 2013 installation.
An interesting point to note is that I myself am able to synchronize the document libraries using both the "SYNC" button on the document library site and by entering the path manually in the desktop app. Difference between my account and the test
accounts is that I'm a site collection administrator and farm administrator. Can anyone shed some light onto this issue?

    Hi Corey,
According to your description, my understanding is that the users cannot sync document libraries with OneDrive for Business.
I recommend to check the Permission Level to see if the Use Client Integration Features permission is selected.
If not, check this permission in the corresponding permission level which is granted to the users.
Please also check if the users have the right permission to sync the document library with OneDrive for Business.

  • SharePoint 2013 - document libraries and newsfeeds are visible when viewed using Internet Explorer running on the server but not from any other machine

On a single Windows 2012 R2 server I have installed SQL 2012 and SharePoint 2013 SP1 with the latest update roll ups. When I remote desktop to the server using the farm and site collection admin account  and open page http://server_name_here using
Internet Explorer, I'm able to see newsfeeds and document libraries.
If I connected to a separate Windows 7 machine as  the farm and site collection admin account  and open page http://server_name_here using Internet Explorer, I'm able to view the SharePoint pages except I cannot see any newsfeeds or document libraries.
There's just blank space where they should be. I have repeated this process on several other machines that are not the server and get the same result on every machine (I've tried other servers, desktops, adding the SharePoint site to the trusted sites list
in IE, even using firefox). I'm using the same account as I did when I logged onto the server directly. Any thoughts as to what's going on?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the idea, Harsh. What am I looking for?
It is currently set to the default of http://server_name and http://server_name:port_number (the latter is for Central Admin).
When I have access to the server, I have always done so the same way, using http://server_name. This was true when I access it from the desktop of the server itself and when I tried to access it from other desktops and servers (the machines where I had the
issues with the libraries and feeds not showing up). Are there other values I should add?
I have not tried to add http://server_FQDN as we don't plan on using that to access it but if you think it will help I would be happy to add it.

  • To get Document content via RFC

    Hi forum,
I have a small bsp-application to show documents for a material-number stored in the SAP-tresor (via ftp).
The SAP-tresor is installed in the core-system, the WEB-AS is another server.
I developed a remote-enabled function module called get_doc_content_rfc. This function module reads some customizing to get all values for calling the function module CV120_DOC_CHECKOUT_TO_TABLE.
Now, when I call my get_doc_content_rfc in the core-system, I get the document content via the function module CV120_DOC_CHECKOUT_TO_TABLE. When I call my function module get_doc_content_rfc form the developer-system via RFC in the core-system, the function module CV120_DOC_CHECKOUT_TO_TABLE dosn't deliver the document content.
In the debugger, I can see, the function module CV120_DOC_CHECKOUT_TO_TABLE opens a ftp-connection to the server with the tresor and then reads the document content. Do I use my function module get_doc_content_rfc in the core-sysem, the ftp-connect can be established. Do I use my function module get_doc_content_rfc via RFC to the core-system, the ftp-connection opend by the function module CV120_DOC_CHECKOUT_TO_TABLE gets a time out.
Now, my question. what can I do, to get the document content via RFC from the core-system.
    Thank you for help

    Hi,
Did you check RFC Adresses in SM59 both of two systems.
    May be different.

  • Duplicate columns created in Document Libraries

    Hi,
We are having issues with duplicate columns being created in document libraries after copying/moving documents between libraries (SharePoint 2013):
Unable to find any users with similar issues on forum
    Thanks in advance
    K

Duplication has been sort of a thing for us as well. On our SP public site images will start duplicating themselves. I am not sure if it's because of different libraries running in the background, but it is very annoying.
I'm not sure if these two cases are connected, but I thought I'd post so you knew you weren't alone in this strange behavior.

  • GWcheck on document libraries

Earlier this year we migrated/upgraded our GW7 (NetWare 6.5) system to GW8 (SLES) and there were a few issues that we didn't pick up until a week or 2 later. Most of these have been fixed up now, but we have a few issues with our document libraries.
One of the issues we had was that DBCOPY did not copy all of the blob files (for emails and documents) across to the new server, I have been able to get the email blobs copied across and that is all working fine now.
The documents are a little different... When we did the migration we re-created the dmsh.db file and I suspect that at this stage something has gone wrong. The DBCOPY was done over 3 days with 2 passes over the data. After the migration every document created/modified after the first pass appears to have been lost. The activity log in the doc profile shows the last time it was worked on as the date before the first pass, but the document was definitely worked on the day before the 2nd pass. (ie 1st pass 19th, doc worked on 20th, 2nd pass 21st, doc profile shows the last date the doc was opened pre 19th - all changes to docs or docs created on 20th or 21st have gone). When we check the location that the profile says the document is saved in there is no blob file for it, but this would make sense as the document has been worked on and saved to a different folder, which is almost impossible to tell which folder it has been saved to. (Correct?)
When GWCheck is run on our libraries with the "Verify document files" option they are reporting Problem 86 (Inaccessible wordlist blob) and Problem 76 (Error accessing document content).
I have run the GWcheck on one of our smaller libraries with the "Reset word lists" option ticked and this has made no difference to the errors. I note that there is an option to "Fix document/version/element", can someone explain what this does? Are we able to run this option and it will find the new location of the blob based on the doc profile/database? (presuming the actual blob file is on the new server)
Are there any options I can put in the MISC tab that will find the missing blobs and restore the connection to the documents?
Hopefully someone has an answer for me so the year will end on a high....
Let me know if any of the above doesn't make sense.
    Thanks in advance
    Matt

Further to this, some documents that were created back in 2010 and presumably not touched since then are also reporting Problem 86 (Inaccessible wordlist blob) and Problem 76 (Error accessing document content) errors.
GWCheck with the "Verify document files" reports file location as \\oldserver...\fd94\4aa1413e.000.
GW doc properties activity log file reports location \\oldserver...\fd2c\4bcddad2.000 (dated 20/4/2010)

  • Sharepoint -Creating document libraries at run time and add and delete permission at runtime--taking too much time in C#(SOM)

    Hi,
I am creating a batch job in C# and my requirement is as follows.
My Requirement is to create multiple document libraries and after breaking inheritance  I remove all the groups which that library inherits and add some groups which are created for that library.Initially when libraries are less the creation
of library is good but once it gets increased ,system takes lot of time.I will have to create around 2000 libraries and almost 600-700 groups.
Q.1 ) What would be my approach?
Q.2) Do we have powershell command which can break inheritance and delete all the default groups in a one go (without looping) of a library?
    Please suggests.

  • No Document Libraries available GW8

I think i must be missing something very basic. I created GW Library object in Console One; it is associated with the only PO we have; but when a client tries to link via tools/options/documents; we get the error "no document libraries available".
Also under properties in the library object; I've made sure all users are listed:
    library/properites/rights.
Please tell me what I'm missing.
    Thanks,

  • Valid users can see a site, but not the document libraries they have permissions for

    Hello everybody,
at a customer's site, there is SharePoint Foundation 2013 SP1 running, bound to both http and https. Seeminlgy out of nothing, a strange behavior occurred: Visting
http://intranet/subsite showed the page headers (logo, global navigation etc.), but no content. The welcome text was missing as well as the links to the document libraries which should appear in the left navigation.
After explicitely adding http://intranet as an alternate name (https://intranet was active only, don't know why), we can again reach content via http. Still strange appears, that
http://intranet global navigation links get redirected to https (fine, but unexpected). If we change a deep link to a document library from https to http in the browser's address bar, we can reach the content fine.
However, one problem still exists: This site gets published via TMG 2010 via https, and that also worked just fine for many months. But now, I can try what I want in TMG, valid authenticated users see only the top navigation, but no content at all.
Can anyone give me a hint about what to check? Of course, I will provide any info you may need.
    Best Regards, Stefan Falk

    Hello Daniel,
Thank you for your response. As to your questions:
I just added http://intranet to the alternate access mappings of the intranet zone and did not extend a website.
Besides SharePoint Central Administration, there is no other SharePoint web site collection on this server, and no other non-SharePoint-IIS-Site. This is a VM for nothing else than hosting this single intranet site collection.
We do see the same issue under two sub-websites underneath
    http://intranet, namely http://intranet/Datenaustausch and
http://intranet/Protokolle. In both sub-sites, there is some welcome text on the home page and there are several document libraries, each with permissions not interited, but explicitely granted to specific users.
The first (solved) issue was, that we could not see the document libraries when using http, but could see them using https. This was solved by adding the alternate access mapping for
    http://intranet explicitely.
We can successfully browse the sites (using http and https now) from the internal network. The one issue left is that the same does not work through TMG, that is, coming from the external network, we can see and call up the sites in a browser, but not any
content in them. We do see the site title and logo, and the global navigation at the top of the page, but we do not see the welcome text, nor the document libraries. This did work last week, and we do not know nor could find, why it stopped working. The issue
persists regardless of whether we use bridging to https or to http between TMG and SharePoint.
We have already restarted the SharePoint box, with no success.
If I can provide any further information needed, I will be glad to do so.
    Best Regards, Stefan Falk

  • Restoring permissions to a site and document libraries

We have SharePoint sites (SPWeb) with unique permissions (permissions inheritance broken).  Each site has several document libraries in it.  The document libraries also have their permissions inheritance broken.  Users are assigned to
a custom permissions level at the document library level and at the same time they are given Limited Access permission level at the site level.  Apparently, one of the document libraries was still inheriting permissions.  A customer with site
admin rights was trying to remove some user permissions for the document library that was still inheriting permissions.  Because the permissions were still being inherited, they were taken to the parent site permissions page.  They selected most
of the accounts and clicked Remove.  They thought they were removing permissions for that document library but instead they removed permissions at the site level which means that they removed permissions to all document libraries for these accounts.
My question is: I have a content database backup from last night.  I also have a full farm backup (done via Central Admin) from a month or two ago.  Is there any way to restore those permissions ( to the site and document libraries) from one
of these backups?  I cannot restore the whole site collection because the other sites in this site collection are not affected by this.  I can only restore an SPWeb object.  However, is my understanding correct that restoring the SPWeb is only
going to restore the content and not the permissions?  Is there any other way to restore users permissions at the site and document library level from the two backups I have?
    thanks,

I do not think its possible to restore permissions only.
You have to restore another site from backup and then map user permissions in all document libraries. If possible then develop a custom control which will check user permission on restored site and apply it on the production site.

  • Data View Web Part - List of Subsites and Document Libraries under Current Site - Must be able to Package as Site Template in SPDesigner

    Hi Guys,
On the home page of each sub site I would like to be able to show a list of subsites and Document libraries that are under the current subsite.
I started investigating a solution using Datasources with SOAP requests sent to the server but it is very difficult to understand how to surface it on the Data View WebPart.
I have tried with the search results webpart but the problem is that it does not work well when packaged in a Site Template.
    Please advise.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rhyan

    Ok,
    Here is the problem:
When creating a mysite from powershell or script, apparently you can ONLY do this from a wfe (or a server running Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application in services on server).
You CANNOT create mysites from script on your appserver if it is not also a Web Application Server. I confirmed the same is true in my test farm. I guess I was always running most of these scripts on the webserver.
I searched all over and cannot find this documented anywhere.
Who do I contact to have Microsoft document this?
It's Thursday morning, I've been working non stop since Saturday morning so you don't have to :)

  • Display data from multiple document Libraries in List View Webpart

    Hi All,
I want to display data from multiple document libraries into one list view webpart(custom i have created)
I went through the following link http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ramg/archive/2009/04/22/implementing-a-simple-cross-site-collection-list-view-webpart.aspx
but it tells to display only from one document library.
My motive behind displaying data in the list view webpart is to achieve the functionality of Check In ,Check Out and other OOB features.
    With Regards,

    Hi,
As there is no such OOTB feature, a workaround is to create a visual web part to gather items from libraries and implement functionalities like Check in, Check out files
    in different libraries.

  • Error:  Sales BOM / delivery document creation via DI API

Running into an error from SAP when trying to post a Delivery Note document object via the DI API.
-5002 -You cannot add a document with a bill of materials that does not include all components
I have a Sales BOM on a Sales Order.  All components have been included within the Delivery Note object.  When calling the document Add() function, SAP is pushing back with the error above.
Does the fact that the components of the Sales BOM are also BOMs themselves make a difference in whether the DI API fails or succeeds in posting the Delivery Note?

Does the fact that the components of the Sales BOM are also BOMs themselves make a difference ?
I believe the answer is YES.

  • How to add a button in top ribbons of ALL library types (Not just document libraries)?

    Hi there,
How to add this custom button on all Library Types (Not just document libraries)?
RegistrationId="101" RegistrationType="List" adds this button to Document Libraries only - which does not work for me.
    Thanks so much.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to add a custom button on the ribbon of all the library.
You can refer to the following code snippet, it would add a custom button “Site Settings” on the ribbon of all the libraries.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
    <CustomAction Id="ListViewCustomization" Location="CommandUI.Ribbon.ListView" RegistrationId="101" RegistrationType="List" Title="List View Ribbon Customization">
