Connect hp printer cp1525nw to a WPA2 network

Changed Verizon FiOs router from one that has a WEP  network key to a  FiOs router that has a WPA2 network with password. How do you connect the HP Laserjet Pro CP1525nw printer to that network. The controls on the front of the printer do not offer that option.
Please suggest an option easy for anyone to do...
RedWolf72

Have tried all these steps(not necessarily in this order):
1.Restore printer to defaults.
2.Pushbutton network linkup per printer controls and WPS button on router (I.P. address search for router says WPS is not enabled).RESULT: Failure to access network.
3.Hookup of printer to router via yellow ethernet cable to LAN connection on back of router and then trying to find product wirelessly and wired during reinstall of product software. Tried to:
    A.Autofind product
B.Search using IP address (*See Note Below)
    C.Search using Host Name (router)
    D.Search using Hardware address (router)
    E.Use wireless (WPS) setup
   RESULT: failure
4.Install printer on my laptop by USB cable. RESULT: SUCCESS.
5..In Windows 8 i went to the right hand charms, clicked on "Search".Then clicked on "Settings".Then typed "Devices" in Search box. Then clicked on "Devices and Printers". Then clicked on my printer. After that , the option (in Windows 8) to
"Reconfigure your HP device" was not there. RESULT: failure
6. Checked HP for any driver updates etc for the Laserjet Pro 1525nw. They had a 2013 firmware and a "Print and Scan Doctor" file applicable to the printer. Download Result of driver updates to computer: SUCCESS
7.Went through steps 1 through 4 again with no luck achieving connectivity to a wireless network with the printer.
8.Contected Verizon per on-line chat and remote access (for about 2 hours) to wirelessly connect my printer to the router.RESULT: failure
The funny thing is that on mine and my wife's iPad2's and our computers we were able to find or input the network and the wireless key/password for that network and connect to the router by wi-fi.
Gemini02 (also in HP Support) to my query regarding "Setup of CP1525nw wirelessly to Actiontec MI424WR Rev1 router" suggested changing the settings on the router but i dont see how that would help if WPS is not enabled on this
router!
When i was on-line chatting with one of two Verizon tech support people they mentioned that the WPS disabled setting
on their supposed "router upgrade" was something Verizon was working on.
After 2 hours of frustration the Verizon support rep gave me (2) H.P. support numbers to call [800-474-6836 and H.P. Expert Care Team @ 877-718-6716] and another Verizon number @ 1-800-837-4966.
Being that i bought the printer in September of 2011 i doubt any H.P. phone support now is free.
And my problems all started when we started having problems (off and on) accessing the internet and figured it was the router. Talked to Verizon FiOs rep, ordered a newer router and upgraded my service to a better upload and download speed.Connected new router when it came to cable and tried accessing the wi-fi by the steps above.
*Please note that the only IP address i could find was the one for the router When i went to the printers control panel and hit "Show IP address" but on the front display (in idle mode) it doesnt show (like when i first set up the printer over 3 years ag

Copy the IP address of the printer from the Mac that can connect to it by itself. The IP shows when you start any print job.
Disable Printer sharing on this Mac.
Go to the Mac that cannot connect by itself and set up the printer from scratch using the printer's IP. To do this:
System Preferences / Print & Scan, then click the + sign, nxt select Add Printer or Scanner and click on IP. Fill in the info.

  • How do I connect my printer to a new wireless network?

I currently have a MacBook Pro and HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-one printer. I have had the printer a long time, and have since lost the cable to connect it to my laptop, and any paperwork or cds recieved with it.
I have been unable to figure out how to change my printer's settings so it is connected to my new house's wireless network, the wireless test report showed it is trying to connect to my old one in another town. I have a usb cable I can borrow to hook the printer up to my laptop, but would like to be able to just print wirelessly. Is there any way to do so?

If you want to change your existing connection to a wireless network, follow these instructions.
    Open HP Device Manager.
Figure 5: HP Device Manager icon
From the Information and Settings drop-down menu, click Setup Assistant .
The HP Setup Assistant window opens.
Follow the on-screen instructions to change your connection type to an existing wireless network.

  • Connecting new printer to laptop by wireless network

Followed the installation procedure  from HP laptop with successful diagnostic results but could not get it to work from 'print' instruction from laptop.Checking the computer settings it shows an HPenvy 5530 driver (offline) with my two jobs requested today in a queue.Where have I gone wrong?

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I understand you have installed an Envy 4507 on your Windows 8 PC and are unable to print. I can certainly help with that. First we'll need to refresh some connections.Turn the printer off. While the printer is turned off unplug your router for one minute.Once you have internet connection again turn the printer on.Now we'll need to clear that old print queue and add a new one.Close all of the programs you have open.Open your Control Panel.Go to Printers and Scanners. In this window right click on the Envy 5530.Left click on Remove Device.Repeat for any other printers listed. Now click on Add a Printer at the top.Select your printer and click on next.Follow the pompts to install the driver.Try printing.Let me know how this works. If it helps you then please click on Accept as Solution below my post.
I hope this helps and I hope you have a great week!

  • How to connect a printer to Airport in WIFI with Windows

    Hi,
I just would like to know how to connect my printer (Samsung) to my Airport network through WIFI (My computer is working with Windows).
    Thanks

Well the easiest would be to plug your printer directly into your extreme using either the USB or Ethernet connection.
Make sure you then install bonjour and use the printer wizard to convert your printer...

  • How to Connect My Printer to The Network

My printer is LaserJet M1212nf.  According to the brief introduction I should connect the printer to the network first in order to enable its e-printing function.  I'm working at home.  I don't share information with other computers.  Does "network" mean my home internet?  Do I need to use either a cable or a USB to connect it to the home internet?  Or is there another way?  Once it is connected, how can I get an email address from HP for my printer?

    Hi,
Your printer can be connected to your network to print but it's not an ePrint printer:
          http://www.shopping.hp.com/shopping/pdf/ce841a.pdf
It has a LAN card, you can connect it to your network and print wirelessly (note: print wirelessly and ePrint are two different things).

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
The easiest way to deal with this may be to install (reinstall) the Full Feature Software for the printer onto your computer.
The installation procedure includes a connection process that might resolve the issue for you without adding any more stress to the situation.
Along with the basic instructions and install videos, you can find lots of helpful Troubleshooting / Howto help at the printer's website support pages.
TIP:  You do want to disconnect the USB cable from the printer before you install / reinstall the software.
General Instructions to Install the Printer Software
    Reminder:
In most cases, the Solution Center has been replaced by the Printer Assistant.
The Printer Assistant shortcut will be installed on your Desktop during the last part of the installation.
    Windows Operating System:
Create Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR  Create a restore point Win8
    Open HP Drivers & Downloads
    Enter your Printer Model information
Select your Printer from the “Results” list
    OR
    Open HP Deskjet 3050A e-All-in-One Printer series - J611
Select your Printer from the “Results” list
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu
    Click NEXT and Scroll down
Look for category Driver - Product Installation Software
Select the Basic Driver, e-print, or Full Feature Software
Save the *.exe installation package(s) on your computer
The file(s) will likely save to the "Downloads “folder.
Be sure to look for Updates as needed for your installation. If available, you may download the Print and Scan Doctor and / or other programs from Category – Utilities.
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select run as Administrator and install.
    NOTES:
Look at the bottom half of the main webpage for your printer for helpful videos to assist with the installation of the printer software!
Scroll the video list back and forth until you find the video that most closely matches your situation.
If using a USB connection: Download and install the driver software before connecting a USB cable.
Ethernet: Connect the printer to the network and (Optional) assign the printer an IP address at the router. Once the printer is connected to the network, be sure the printer is switched on and then install the printer software.
After the initial installation is complete and working, check / install Category - Update
There is valuable information at the support website, including sections for Manuals, Troubleshooting > How-to, Troubleshooting > Solve a Problem, plus alerts and notifications for your printer.  Be sure to take an extended look at what is available.  Bookmark the page.

  • How do i connect my printer to a network on my computer so i can printer regular documents?

i have an eprint d100 printer. i cant print anything because the error message saids that im not connected to a network. i need to know how to get connected to a net work. NOTE i do not have a connection disk.

OK, you have two choices to connect your printer to your PC:
    1. USB cable - this is the simplest, however, you will have to plug in the USB to be able to print.
    2. "Ad hoc" wireless.  This is a wireless link between your printer and your PC.
Let me know which one you want to use.  In the mean time get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • Setting up a WPA2 network connection

    Hello,
I am trying to set up a iBook G4 on my company Wi-Fi network. We are using WPA2 for are security type, and Leap for authentication. When trying to create a new connection I put the SSID in the Network Name. I select WPA2 Enterprise for my security type. I input my user name and password, then click OK. I keep getting WPA authentication failed. If there is anybody out there that can give me some advise I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the same exact problem too if anyone knows how to go about using Apple Configurator that would be great! I have been trying for a while and cannot seem to get it to work.
    Thanks

  • Wifi won't connect to WPA2 network after waking from sleep, requires reboot

My office has a WPA2 network that I use my MBP to connect to. When I go home for the day, I close the MBP and put it to sleep. When I get home and open it, it automatically connects to my home wifi network. I do the same coming back to work and when it wakes up it shows a connection to the wifi network, but whenever I initially do any network task, the connection drops and I am unable to connect until I reboot my mac.
I've tried turning off the wifi before sleeping, then turning it back on, but it does the same thing.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
I'm thinking about a trouble with the route table. Try this in a terminal session after startup:
    netstart -rn
    ping <network address>
After somes answer, close the cover to go to sleep mode.
Open the cover and look the result of the ping command
Normaly you don't have a network
cancel the ping command and redo the netstat commande
Normaly some rows are missing in the result (i don' know why)

  • Network host HPF.local is busy  -  Unable to connect to printer;

Recently when trying to print with a wifi bonjour networked OfficeJet J4680 this is the notice I receive, and it will never print.
Does anyone have any advice other than throwing the printer, or my computer out of the window?
Network host 'HPFBlah.local' is busy; will retry in 30 seconds...
Eventually the notice will change to...
    'Unable to connect to printer; will retry in 30 seconds...';

Removing the wifi networked Printer from System Preferences > Printers, and then turning OFF the OfficeJet's wifi option, and instead plugging it into the Airport with a USB cable resolved the issue.

  • Inability to connect iPhone 5 with ios 7.0.3 to hidden WPA2 network

My iPhone 5, running ios 7.0.3, cannot find the hidden WPA2 network at my office.  Other iPhones are able to connect to the network, using the same credentials I was given.  Many of the discussion I have read suggest changing the network access from WPA2 to WEP, and from what I can tell that's not a good idea.  Being that this network is at my company, I am not able to change any settings on the router.  Could anyone please advise me on how to resolve this issue?  Thank you in advance.

    Hi cltbox,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPhone does not connect to a Wi-Fi network, but other devices can, try these troubleshooting steps first:
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
    Restart your iOS device.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
You can find the troubleshooting article with these steps here:

  • HT4356 Can I use a 'pc' network printer connected via ethernet to the home wifi network ?

Can I use a 'pc' network printer connected via ethernet to the home wifi network ?
or must the printer I want to use also have a wifi connection ?
I have a home network using ethernet connected devices to a router, also attached to th erouter is a WiFi unit. We are using the WiFi unit to connect to the network and hence to the big wide WWW.  We now want to print from our IPads pereferable to our netowk connected HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a series. (not the wireless model).
I was using the HP ePrint app to print from the Ipad, but I do not fully understand how this works. It seems that you must use the app to do the printing which is fine for basic email and photos, but I can not access the drawing package I have, and want to print from it. Please what is it that I do not understand.

You must use an airprint printer directly connected to wifi through it's own wifi card.
