Connect iPad wireless to Sony bravia

For playing vídeos or photos

You need an AppleTV or download from app store DNLA apps, they are free. There is a decent one called "iMediaShare"
Another possibility is to search in the Sony TV configs, there should be an option to connect devices wirellesly.

  • Connecting macbook pro to sony bravia wirelessly

    Hello,
Is there a way to connect a Macbook Pro to an HDTV that are both on the same wireless network? I have a Sony Bravia KDL40EX521 that I bought a USB wireless adaptor with. Is there an app that allows me to do this? Alternatively, I have a PS3. I know Apple TV has a way to "mirror" a display. Does PS3 have an app that allows you to do this?
Any comments / advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Go back to the salesman and have him demonstate that and advise you on the software needed. You could also check SONY web site as well.

  • How to connect MacBook 2009 to Sony Bravia HDTV?

Hi everyone!  I received a Sony Bravia HDTV as a gift (lucky me!), and I want to connect my MacBook from 2009 to it so I can stream Netflix movies onto my laptop and watch them on the HDTV.  I have a Mini-DVI port (video out) on the MacBook, and HDMI on the TV.  A couple of questions:
    -  What cable(s) do I need?
    -  Do I need a separate cable for audio?
    -  Has anyone tried to stream Netflix this way (directly from the laptop), and was it successful?
    Thanks so much!
    Denise

You'll need a Mini-DVI adapter and an HDMI cable from that to your TV. Here's some types of Mini-DVI adapter to HDMI on Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_9_8?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field- keywords=mini+dvi+to+hdmi+adapter&sprefix=mini+dvi
When you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate input plugs for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. You'll have to contact Sony support to see if the Bravia has an audio plug that will work with one of the HDMI plugs.

  • Connecting Macbook Pro to Sony Bravia tv?

    Hi all,
Firstly i hope I've posted this in the correct location, I'm still new to this forum, and all the technology I'm surrounding myself with.
I recently brought a Samsung 3dtv, I connected my Macbook pro via the VGA, all worked fine, however my new tv does have dodgy hdmi's and screen issue, so a new replacement will be delivered next week.
My Macbook pro was bought in 2008, yes 4 years ago, only recently did it start slowing down and playing around. So, my Macbook is not top of the line, with many fancy connctions, oppostie obviously.  However the dvi - vga does work and continues to do so.
My iMac was brought only a couple of weeks ago, so is more up-to-date, I still don't know what all the connections are at the back, but I'm impressed.
In the lounge there is a Sony Bravia tv, was brought last year, again i don't know everything about it.
Last night, du to the failure of my hdmi's i decided to connect my Macbook to the Sony tv. This simple task turned in to hours of touture, not quite but it was pretty horrific.
I went the way which i knew has worked and should work. dvi - vga.
I connected the adapter from my Macbook to one end of the vga lead, the other end in the tv. I also connected my audio cable. The same way that i have done for years, especially on a 6 year old LG lcd tv. And still nothing. (This way even works on a broken Samsung tv)
The PC output on the Sony was grayed out, and continue to stay that way... all night. Frustrating!
I then decided to try an old windows laptop, again nothing.
I also tried with my iMac, thunderbolt (i believe) to hdmi - hdmi, again nothing!
I even tried the hdmi cables from the cable box etc and all worked ok. Nothing wrong with cables nor the connectors on the tv.
I spoke with a technician from the store of purchase, he said.... It only worked on Samsung tv as it is a 'Smart' tv, and that i could make it work by downloading a free app called... AirPlay. : |
I find this all completely odd as like I've said, the 6 year old LG Nothing-of-a-tv LCD worked via the dvi (on a 4 year old Macbook) to a vga cable, through and in to the tv, also using an audio cable, I bet my life that if i connct it again right this moment, it will work.
Also my Samsung tv is broken, yet the same cable and Macbook still works.
Why does the other two completely different tv's work just like that and the one year old Sony, No!!!
All i would like to know is, how on earth can i connect my Macbook to the Sony tv and have it working as an extra screen?? with video and sound content?
Many thanks to you all. x

I run into exactly the same problem with PC input staying grey. The matter gets worse by:
    - if I connect a PC to the Bravia on the it recognizes it.
    - if I then connect a MacBook after it it works, until the MacBook is turned off when the matter returns...
    - with the earlier MacBooks (time with the round power cables before the magnetic connector) it worked well but newer display connector has this problem.
Hence it's somehow a Bravia problem or a signaling problem from this particular MacBook connector to Bravia (something signal is missing that should be there...)

  • Fails to connect MBP 2008 to Sony Bravia with HDMI Cabel

Trying to connect our MacBook Pro from year 2008 to our 2013 SONY Bravia by means of "Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable", the SONY Bravia will only show the background picture (Milky Way) of our MBP, but NOT the application that we have opened on the MBP.... Happy to receive any hints... Thank you!

Well, I have a regular macbook and one thing I found out is to make sure your tv cable box is off and that just your tv is on.  I know that sounds simple, but I didn't realize this at first!  The other thing I did was go on youtube and found a video of a guy showing exactly how to set it up, settings, connections, etc... It really helped me.  I had to look around a lot to find one that I could understand, but that's how I finally figured it out!

  • Connecting my macbook to sony bravia with AUDIO

I just setup my macbook to my sony bravia via mini dvi adapter to hdmi and it works perfectly. Now, the problem I have is getting the audio to work. I tried using my RCA audio cord to hook it up, but there is no sound on my tv. I would appreciate any suggestions on what else I should do, thanks.

Its the newest model available. The problem I have is that when i plug my audio cable (RCA) into the tv from my macbook, i get no sound and its getting aggrevating haha.

  • How do connect iPad wireless to a projector for use in classroom?

I want to be able to utilize my iPad in the classroom as I would an airtablet.  Is there a way to do this?

Probably the simplest way, if you want to remain wireless (not be cabled to the projector) is to buy an AppleTV and use Airplay to mirror the iPad to the projector that way. AppleTVs have HDMI outputs, so if your projector has that connection, you just need an HDMI cable - otherwise, you will probably need an HDMI-VGA adaptor.

  • Connect Apple TV to Sony bravia

How do I connect.apple tv, generation 2, to sony braveria.

What is the model number? Connected directly via HDMI securely? What do you see on the screen? Have you navigated to the right input on your TV? Have you tried a different cable and port?

  • My 13" mackbook pro can't connect to my 55" SONY Bravia using the HDMI cable

Neither unit sees the other.  I'm using a brand new Apple HDMI cable for macbook pro.  Is the SONY just incompatible?
    Thanks...

One of the best features we never heard of is the Mac's ability to specify an entire basket of Wi-Fi settings at once, by bundling them into a "Location" settings file.
When you get to a new place, use
    System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > (assist Me) > (Assistant)...
... and set it up from scratch -- taking care to specify a new "Location" with a meaningful mnemonic name particular to School, Starbux, or whatever will remind you which to choose.
Be sure to close the window and save changes for them to take effect.

  • Can I connect iPad to Sony tv to view I player

Does anyone know what I need to connect iPad 2 to Sony Bravia t. So I can watch I player.  Same question for MacBook pro 2011.
    THank you.

Sure you can! Get Apple's HDMI adapter and (if you still don't have one) an HDMI cable and hook up the iPad to the TV.
I'm not sure the iPlayer directly supports TV out (at least it does support AirPlay). If it doesn't (which I doubt), you can still use the standard screen mirroring feature of the iPad 2.

  • Connecting MacBook to Sony Bravia LCD tv

I really want to connect my MacBook to our tv to play region 1 dvd's and videos I've bought in iTunes. At the Apple Store they sold me 3 cables, 1 Mini-DVI to DVI connector, 1 DVI to HDMI cable and a cable for sound.
I've got these both hooked up to my tv but I can't get both sound and picture to show up. I have to choose between either the HDMI input or the AV (sound) input. Does anyone know how I can get them both?

I am trying to do the same . Connecting Mac Book to Sony Bravia. the audio is working fine but no display. After connecting the DVI - VGA adapter the mac screens blinks for a sec or so but then no display on the tv. The apples store sales person told me its plug & play as simple as that.
Pls help with some troubleshooting !

  • Connecting Macbook to sony Bravia TV

Ok not exactly the most computer savvy but I am currently trying to connect my Macbook to my Bravia TV. I have a Mini DVI to DVI cable then a DVI to HDMI cable connected the HDMI cable is connected to a box that i have my DVR and Blu-Ray player plugged into, then that is connected to the TV. The problem is that my macbook will not recognize the TV and the TV does not seem to recognize the macbook. I have read several other posts with the same problem all that seem to be solved by matching the computer's resolution to the TV's and by turning off mirroring in the display preferences, but there does not seem to be an option for turning that off in my display options and the detect display button seems to do nothing. Any help would be appreciated

  • Connect to Sony BRAVIA

I was using android all these days and was comfotably connecting internet to my SONY BRAVIA LED TV. With this Lumia 925 am unable to do so. Tried all the possibilities but not able to do so. Very disappointed with this. Please help in getting connected.

Have you tried using the Nokia Play To app? It allows you to stream content to DNLA enabled TV's.

  • MacBook Pro & Sony Bravia

    Hi folks,
I just bought a new MacBook Pro 15" (OS X 10.6.3) - my first Mac, hooray! - and I'm trying to connect it to my Sony Bravia (to watch Netflix) but they don't seem to recognize each other. I know there are a bunch of threads on this but I haven't had much luck browsing for a solution that fits my set up.
    Here's my current set up:
    * MBP is connected to "mini display to VGA (female)" cable
    * Prior cable is connected to "VGA (male) to HDMI" cable
    * "VGA to HDMI" cable is connected to HDMI 1 in Sony Bravia
I also tried changing the Bravia input to "PC" with same results - no recognition.
The Sony Bravia is a couple years old, approx. 30" diagonal screen, model #KDL 32SL130.
The Sony Bravia is blank and black. The MacBook Pro does not appear to recognize the Sony Bravia; when I go to System Settings... Display there is no tab for mirroring. I search for "mirror" which takes me to a search for "arrange multiple displays" and then MBP tells me "The Arrangement tab of Displays preferences is hidden because you only have a single display attached to this computer."
Is there any chance that my current set up will work? If not, can folks recommend the best cable(s) for this connection? Or a link that explains this set up?
My wife will consider me a hero if I can resolve this... thanks for your help!

Your problem is with the VGA to HDMI cable. That cable is actually designed to transmit a signal the other way (from HDMI to VGA). VGA is analog, HDMI is digital. I'm not even sure how in the heck it works the way it's supposed to.
What you need is a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (and then and HDMI cable). Make sure to use one that support audio. Read this KB article:

  • MacBook Pro (early 2006) to Sony Bravia

    Hi there
I have a MacBook Pro (ealry 2006) and would like to connect it to my sony Bravia.
I also Have a MacBook Air which I could use for the same purpose but I would prefer to use the above.
I have heard that if I buy the cable (iWires DVI to HDMI Cable) at Apple (£29), this will only transfer the video and not the audio.
What is the best way to achieve my goal without a lot of cables lying around?
    Thanks

The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo has a Mini-DVI port, not a Mini DisplayPort or DVI port.
Depends on what input plug you'll be using on your TV. VGA, DVI, Composite or HDMI. (Composite is the red, white and yellow RCA plugs on your TV or red, white and S-Video plugs.) You'll need a Mini-DVI adapter and a cable from that to your TV. Here's the various types of Mini-DVI adapters on AmazonUK.com http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=m ini-dvi+adapter&x=9&y=11
You'll also need audio cables to the TV using a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs for VGA, DVI or Composite. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate input plugs on your TV http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_2_17?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field -keywords=3.5mm+audio+cable&sprefix=3.5mm+audio+cable%2Caps%2C565#/ref=nb_sb_nos s?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=3.5mm+to+rca+audio+cable&rh=n%3A34 0831031%2Ck%3A3.5mm+to+rca+audio+cable
If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug.
