  • IPhone 5S with ios8 fail to connect my Bluetooth car audio system

    Dear apple users and developers,
I have read many threads about this issue mostly for iPhone 5 (ok i have the 5S) perhaps this makes a difference. With the ios7 i had no issue and always connected to my MHV-8300BT Pioneer device in my car. After update, when i get connected, i says "Calling My number" and when i push the button on my device to answer it drops the line, it keeps the connection but i do not hear, speak. Then i have to change the source voice system and i set the speaker or the iPhone.
On my fathers Bluetooth, a Motorola, it works, at the beginning i made a reset only for the Network settings,
Do not know what else to do
    Thanks for reading my post

  • Iphone compatible car audio

I am trying to research car audio that is Iphone ready. Is there such a thing out there? I know there is plenty Ipod but I would like the capability to use my phone while in my truck.

A lot of manufacturers have bluetooth built into there car stereos, with these it's kinda a trial and error system. Otherwise some manufacturers have iPhone/iPod integration units JVC and SONY are two of these check around, (manufacturers websites are great for this) i use my iPhone currently with a SONY unit through bluetooth and it works great, just be aware that either way at least currently until the 3.0 update the bluetooth connection will be a little limited as it supports the voice function only not contact transfers or any of that "fancy" stuff not that i can work out why people want a list of their phone contacts on their cars headunit anyway. Definitely keep an eye out for the works with iPhone logo that should appear on most compatible products though this usually only applies to products that use a dock connector and i have found very few headunits that have this sticker as they use bluetooth, you just need to trust the manufacturers description otherwise.

  • Question about Apple Watch/iPhone and Car Audio/Bluetooth

I have a Toyota Vensa and when I get into my car, the iPhone properly connects with the car's Bluetooth for phone calls and audio. If I then receive a phone call - both the car/iPhone and Watch will ring.
But if I answer from the Watch, is there then a way to switch the call to the car's bluetooth system like there is is you answer with the iPhone?

If your iPhone is already auto-connecting itself to your bluetooth hands-free system in your car, you don't need to do all this work (and risk an accident while driving).
This is what the "handoff" feature is designed for:
If you answered on your watch, but really wanted it on your car's hands-free system, simply swipe the phone icon up on the iPhone's lock screen -- this will immediately transfer to the hands-free system! The phone icon will appear automatically on your iPhone's lock screen, whenever you are on a call on your Apple Watch.
Note: the "handoff" feature goes away if the iPhone is unlocked -- so if it's already unlocked, you just have to lock it again or you won't see the phone icon to swipe up. The iPhone doesn't require (or allow) you to unlock it for the audio call handoff to work.
The instructions DannyWoods posted work fine once the phone is unlocked, but again, I think it's more risky than just doing the swipe motion on the left side where the phone icon will be. And as long as your iPhone does automatically connect to the speakers anyway (which it will do if you have previously paired it with your bluetooth hands-free system in your car), then it will work instantly with no other hassle.
I wish there were an easier way, but at least it's down to one gesture (swipe up on iPhone). There really should be a button on the watch to let you transfer it (since it has that button in all other use-cases, but not with a call in progress).  It's dumb that I have to reach into my pocket and pull out my phone to transfer it to the hands-free system, but that's how it is. :-(
    Hope this is helpful.

  • IPhone and car audio

Newbie here. Like most people i'm going to ante up and buy the iPhone 3g tomorrow. One key reason is that i can store all my music and replace my CDs in my car stereo. I'm going to purchase a car stereo that has and ipod connection, though I've got several questions regarding the phone use while it is connected to the stereo.
    1) Can someone tell me what happens when you're playing music on your iPhone through your car deck and the phone rings?
    2) Do I have to always have a bluetooth headset on to answer the phone when it's connected to my car stereo? Or can I pick the phone up and use the handset?
    3) Does the music pause and let me answer the phone?
    4) Or do I have to disconnect the phone and manually answer the line?
    5) When I finish my call will the music resume where (if it can) paused?
Sorry to be so long winded, but the music integration into my car audio is a key feature I like; and if I can do both with just an iPhone that would be great.
    Thanks in advance

You'll be happy with the way it works.
When the phone rings, the music pauses and you can answer the phone using either your earset or directly talking into the phone. If the earset is connected via bluetooth you will see a screen on the phone allowing you to select iPhone instead of bluetooth as your choice of interfaces. When you hang up the call the music will automatically resume where it left off.
If you do not have the bluetooth device in the car with you the phone behaves the same way, except it does not ask you if you want to use bluetooth or directly talk into the phone.
Bottom line is it works intuitively and I believe it will do just what you are hoping it will.

  • Message "Accessory connected" when connecting to my car audio

    Hi,
I bought a new iPod Touch recently but haven't tried connecting it to my car audio through the car's USB interface. When I tried connecting it to my car audio, the iPod interface vanished and a screen with "Accessory connected" appeared and it is simply impossible to get out of this interface. Also, my car's displays "Load" with an "iPod" indicator but doesn't seem to play the music. I read in the discussion forum that pressing the "Home" key would bring up the iPod screen which is correct, but the moment I tap on the "Music" option, the iPod again brings up the "Accessory connected' screen. I'm connecting my iPod to my Honda City car audio and the iPod Touch version is 4.1.
Has anyone had similar issues with interfacing iPod Touch with their car audio system?
    TIA
    Best Regards
    Ramanujam

    Hi Ramanujam,
It's possible that your car audio system offers the functionality of a "2-way mode" (ie: allowing you to operate via either the iPod itself or the head unit of the car audio system). Check your car audio manual, and switch the controlling terminal from "headunit mode" to "iPod mode" for iPod playback. Once in "iPod mode", you should find that your iPod's menu should operate as normal.
I'm not familiar with the audio system in your Honda City, however, by example, pressing & holding the "back" key on a JVC headunit will switch between playback modes.
If this solution is not successful, try connecting your ipod via the USB interface while holding the iPod in a "landscape mode" (ie: sideways). You may find that you have limited functionality & can scroll through album covers in order to make song selections. NB: Be sure to hold your iPod in a landscape mode before connecting, rather than connecting the iPod in a "portrait mode" and then rotating the device 90 degrees.
    Wishing you luck,
    Malcolm

  • Connect iphone to car to play audio?

Is it possible to use my iphone to play music in my car? My car has a usb port but when my phone is plugged in, it will only charge rather than connect to play mp3 files. Are there any settings on the phone that can change this?

what receiver are you using. I just installed a Pioneer DEH-2200UB and it works fine. Check your model at the Crutchfield site which has a nice filter for "bypass iPod DAC" under "General Features"

  • TS3581 I recently updated my Iphone 5 to the latest software.  Now when I connect to my car audio with the hotwire USB it will not display or play my music.  It worked fine before the update.  Is there a setting I don't know about with the new software?

I Updated my Iphone 5 and now it will not play or display in my car.  I use the apple hotwire to USB to charge and play music in my car.  It worked before the update.  Is there a setting in the new software that needs adjusting ?

I have a similar problem.  Prior to the 7.0.3 update my iPod touch worked properly and I could see the music folders, playlists and music lists.  However, after the update it no longer works - I cannot see the playlists, the names are blank.
I do not believe your response properly answers the issue at hand.  If the iPod worked properly before the update then it should work properly afterward. With the response and link above it appears it is Apple's stance that it is the radio manufacturer to make the radio work with every update.  That is backwards and, in my opinion, irresponsible.
It should be Apples responsibility to make sure that the functionality of the device is the same both before and after an update.  If they cannot do that then they should make it easy for the user to downgrade or uninstall the update to regain the previous functionality, at least until Apple can resolve the issue their update created.

  • Connect Iphone to car radio system

I try to find a way to connect my Iphone to my car radio. I wan to listen my mp3 and use my phone with the car radio system.
    annuaire et actualité

There are many ways to do this (I use the MonsterCable ipod adapter in rental cars, and the Pioneer Ipod Interface for my P7500DVDII) both with decent results. (great results if you turn on airplane mode). All GSM phones can effect stereo equipment to some degree, and the iphone is no exception. Alot of the 3rd party kits do not use shielded connections which just makes the problem that much more obvious. I found if I adjust the location of my phone in relation to the transmitter and the radio the Monster fm modulator gives satisfactory results without disabling my ability to recieve phone calls. The pioneer is the best, however I can't place the phone in the holder which was installed with the kit since it is in the DIN above the stereo (VW Jetta) and the phone constantly interferes with the amplification circuits. Moving the phone 3-4 inches fixes it.

  • IPhone no car audio

iPhone 4S no longer plays music or pandora over the car speakers via auxiliary or USB connection

I'll start with... Did you turn it off and turn it back on? From there check the connection, see if it will play to AUX speakers or through the computer
    Hope this helps!!

  • Problem connecting Touch with car audio

I have a Chryser 300 with an Ipod adapter that worked perfectly fine with my Nano. When connecting the touch, it does not play music and the touch screen shows Accessory attached put nothing plays through the radio. Is this something with the Touch or the hardward in the card does not recognize the the Touch?

I think it is the latter. Apple changed some of the specifications in late iPods (including the touch) and so new attachments are needed. As a short term solution (if you still have it) use the nano for the car.

  • IPhone vs. car audio

I know that one of you out there has to know which component to buy (preferably not from Apple) to plug iPhone into the car stereo.

    Welcome to the forums!
AFAIK there are no "Apple certified" iPhone components, but some folks here have had good luck with iPod ones and I'm sure they'll chime in. The best link I have right now is this:

  • How to stop iphone from autoplay when plug into car audio system usb?

how to stop iphone from autoplaying when connected to your car audio USB ?

You need to remove the association that Windows has with that particular file type. To do that, you need to open Windows Explorer. From there, click on Tools, then Folder options. Click on the tab that is named file types. You then need to find the extension for the photos that appear in the iPhone, then click that registered file type. Once you do that, there is a section to select the program to open that file type with. You can click on the change button, and that will allow you to change the program that it opens with, or restore the default. There is also a box that can be checked to always use the selected program. If you unselect it, it will prompt you next time on what program to use.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPod shuffle will not connect to car audio

my 2015 Lexus audio system recognizes my iPod Nano's (6th &7th generation) without any problems via BT or USB; does the 4th gen iPod shuffle have the capability to play through my car's audio system with it's USB cable?

Probably not, because the iPod shuffle does not have the "standard" iPod dock connector.  It uses the headphones jack as the connection point for data.  Also, the shuffle is designed to be a more limited device, in terms of its interaction capabilities.
A better choice for connecting to a car audio system is an inexpensive USB flash drive.  You may already have one.  For example, this one barely sticks out of the USB port
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/SanDisk/SDCZ33016G/
and has many times the storage capacity of a shuffle.  You can load it with your favorite songs and just leave it connected in the car, instead of constantly connecting and disconnecting an iPod (which causes wear on the iPod).

  • IOS4 does not recognize in car audio systems...awesome!

So a major glitch with the iOS4 release for iPhone turns out to be the complete inability to interact with hard wired connections to in-car audio systems. As a result, those of us who relied on our iphone music libraries to provide our driving entertainment prior to this latest update, are now completely out of luck. Unless, of course, you count the incessantly flashing warning that "your iphone does not support this accessory" entertaining as opposed to infuriating. This strobe effect has the added bonus of rendering your touch screen completely useless. Good luck if your hard connection provides charging capabilities as well.
Between the ungodly amount of money spent on iTunes music and my car audio system over the last couple of years, I’m just tickled to death about this world wide technological turn of events. Good job Apple, you really dumped in the bed on this one.

I see the same problem when plugging my iPod with iOS 4 into my clock radio iPod dock. If i remove it and plug it back in it generally works fine. But it is a bit of a nuisance.
