When my iphone connects to wifi, everything else in my house will not connect to the internet. They all show 3 to 4 bars on connection strength, but unable to access the internet.  The second I turn off the wifi on my iphone, everything in my house runs fine. What is going on?

Had a similar problem a number of years ago with a laptop my daughter had. The probelm turned out to be the router. What kind of router do you have? Have you checked for firmware updates, or at least tried re-booting it?

Hi, Santosh..., and welcome to the Community,
I would recommend testing the SMS reply forwarding to your mobile number.  Depending upon the results and if this works for you, you could then contact Skype Customer Service to cancel and request a refund.
In other words, SMS will be received via your mobile number, not via your Skype Number.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • My computer cannot access the Internet, but my iPad can...

My computer cannot access the Internet; it keeps saying "a connection timeout occurred," but my iPad is connecting fine.  I'm running OSX 10.8.2

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.

iphone 4 is not recognized by itunes and is only on emergency mode, keeps telling me to connect to itunes but when I connect iphone to computer it does not recognize it

Did you try recovery mode?  Hold down the home button as you connect it to iTunes.  iTunes should pop up a window that says "iTunes has detected a device in recovery mode" and give you the option to restore.

  • When connecting iphone to computer iphoto always loads

When connecting iphone to my computer iphotos always loads on top. how do I stop iphotos from loading

When there are photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll, your iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer. Although photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process, photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Not a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup alone for these photos, and deleting the photos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete will improve your iPhone's backup time. If you want any of the imported photos available on your iPhone for viewing, you can add the photos to an existing iPhoto album already selected to be transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync, or create a new iPhone album for the recently imported photos, select the new iPhoto album under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.

  • Going crazy trying to connect iPhone to computer/iTunes

I had iTunes installed on my computer, and everything was fine. Didn't have a single problem with it. Then, when I got my new motherboard and processor yesterday, I reinstalled Windows 7, something I do any time I get a new motherboard. So I install iTunes, that goes perfectly fine. Load that up, and plug in my iPhone. First, it pops up with the driver installing for "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver", which goes fine, and uses the usbaapl64.sys driver that the Apple site says it should. Then it tries installing the driver for "MTP USB Device", which fails. And iTunes gives me the error "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000065)." or "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "Jon's iPhone" becuase an invalid response was received from the device.". Varies from time to time when I plug it in.
I run the iTunes diagnostic for iPhone/iPod Connectivity, and it passes everything except the last one "No iPhone or iPod found." It directs me to this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363) for help, which none of the steps help. I've also done everything on this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495), and no luck. Tried redownloading iTunes and installing about 20 times. Even downloaded older versions of iTunes. Nothing. Uninstalled drivers, reinstalled drivers. Nope. ****, I even reinstalled Windows 7 again to make sure nothing was messed up in the installation. No luck.
I've tried Googling the error, and just about anything I can think of, and nothing is helping. If anybody had any ideas, it'd be great.

Yes it is documented through forums well now. You may get 0XE8000065, or error code -6999, or error code -48 or combination.
    1. First and best fix is update your BIOS
    2. Some people have been able to switch from back USB port to front and it worked.
    3. Others bought a PCI USB card and installed it on their computer and then connected iPhone to that.

  • HT201415 iPhone is unable to access into internet use wi-fi connectoins

    Hi,
When use Wi-Fi connections sometimes can't get access to the network. Phone get ip and successfully connected to Access Point.
    Use Wi-Fi Router: D-link DAP-2310

I won't be able to find out for a to maximum of 72 hours regarding why I can't connect to the xfinity hotspot. I won't be at the location I'm the at now for the next 72 hours.
As a temporary workaround, I signed up for a free one hour trial of internet service by being a 'new member.' That will have to do for now.

  • Wifi connected but not able to access the internet

I was able to connect to the wifi, but can not access the internet. It shows the blue bars, but for example, I can't log into facebook. My laptop, my blackberry are all connected but I can't get the ipod to work. I have removed and reinstalled the network connections, and even adjusted the ip address, to no avail.

I am not having problems at home, works fine with my home network. In Starbucks or the Airport I can't exactly go change their router settings. I think Apple has a problem here that they need to fix. There is no reason why the Ipod Itouch WiFi settings have to be so difficult, cranky. It shoul dbe able to work more easily.

  • ITunes quits when I connect iPhone to computer

I just installed iTunes upgrade 8.0.2 on my iBook G4. iTunes opens when I click on it and and appears to operate okay. No crash. But when I connect my iPhone, iPhoto launches and iTunes unexpectedly quits. Every time. I cannot start iTunes, either, with the phone connected to the computer. This has never happened before, just started when I upgraded to 8.0.2. I have not upgraded my iPhone yet (because iTunes won't launch with it). My iPhone version is 2.1 Your help would be so appreciated!

I'm having the same problem. I've tried reinstalling itunes, repairing drive permissions, etc. No improvement. Our ipod touch with v2.1 works fine, it seems to be isolated to the v2.2 upgrade I perfromed on my iphone. I'm running itunes 8.0.2. Help?

  • WRT54GS v7: Claims to have connection, but I can't access the internet wired or wireless.

Hello. I recently moved in with another family member, and he already had a linksys router (this one a WRT54G v5) but after our internet speed crashed from around 300 kb/s all the way to 12 kb/s, I knew somethin was up, and I blamed it on his router, which had been kinda "iffy" in the past. So, since I had brought my router (the WRT54GS v7) I decided to take a crack at i installing it. I restored it to factory defaults and ran the CD, as if this router had never been used. Everything went fine, until trying to connect to the internet... It just wouldn't work, even though ALL the indicator lights were lit (on both the router and modem. The modem is a DSL modem, and the model is: Westell C90-610015-06. ISP is Verizon.) Upon browsing the forums here, I found someone with a similiar issue, except they were using a cable modem. Here is the fix that was posted by a user named toomanydonuts: "Your TM502G modem appears to be a standard cable modem (i.e. it is not a modem-router). Therefore your WRT54GS should work at its factory default settings. You need to reset the router to factory defaults. To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure: 1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall. 2) Disconnect all wires from the router. 3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes). 4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes). 5) Power down the router. 6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port). 7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes). 8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off). 9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router. 10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank, and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser. If you get this far without problems, power down the router. Using an ethernet cable, connect the ethernet port on your modem to the "Internet" port on the WRT54GS. Power up the modem and allow it to fully boot (1-5 minutes). Power up the WRT54GS and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes). Power up your computer. Now try to connect to the Internet. If you still have trouble, in your computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall. If you still have trouble, verify that your ethernet card is set to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain a DNS address automatically". After you get the router working, you can go back into the router and manually adjust the settings, if needed. If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead. If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt. In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware. After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1. If you need additional help, please state your router's firmware version, and the results of steps 9 and 10. Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back. Please let me know how things turn out for you." So, I tried that. All of it. Including disabling the firewall. Now, the IP address and DNS servers bein retrieved automatically thing I'm a lil sketchy on, simply because I'm not exactly sure how to change that.... What I did also try doing, on top of the above resolution, was to have the WRT54GS clone my PC's MAC address, then restart the router, modem, and computer. This one actually got me excited as the Internet lights blinked a few times, but then still nothing -_- So...is my router dead perhaps? Cuz to be honest, I'm completely open to buying a new router, if needed. Help?

You only have to clone your mac when using certain cable modem.  You don't clone your mac when using dsl.

  • Connecting iPhone (or computer) to TV

Next week I'm getting wifi for the first time, a wifi router, new higher speed modem,  and one of these new 'smart wifi Tv's'
I got the iPod Touch 4g and I got the mac-mini 2009 that can do HDMI or VGA out.
The TV I'm looking at has HDMI connectins, component, RF (cable), VGA, Ethernet and USB connections.
The question is: What's the best way to connect iPod Touch 4G and/or connect my computer to this TV? -- with either wifi (prefered) or cables.
I might be thinking along the wrong tracks...since I've never laid these type of tracks down before.
WHAT I WAS HOPING TO DO: Connect the iPhone and or iPod Touch 4G to one of these new 'smart wifi TV's' and be able to see what's on my iPhone, see it on the TV and use all the apps, etc. in a complete and normal way.
OR, connect the computer to TV and do all my computer stuff on it (in the comfort of my living room; not office).
BUT, ALAS, I'm getting the idea this won't work with the iPhone or iPod Touch 4G.
But, Question: ¿can be done through cables or wifi with the computer?
Re, iPhone: Problem is something to do with the iPhone not allowing 'mirroring.' so you can only see the screen either on the iPhone or on the TV, not both.
    Is that the problem/issue?
There is an Apple product, the Apple Composite AV Cable - cost $39.00 USD
that says it "Easily connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to the composite video inputs on a TV. The cable also features audio and USB connectors."

Right now it has 266 questions and 142 answers.
The TV I'm looking at has HDMI connectins, composite, component, RF (cable), VGA, Ethernet and USB.
What if I was to connect to VGA (somehow)?
This 'smart TV' is only 'semi-smart,' btw, so not regular web browser, only 'widgets' that specifically connect to specific services/sites, like YouTube, Netflicks, etc. -- and I'd like to web browse and connect to others....thus use Safari on the iPhone....humm.
Plus, I'd like to use the iPhone apps -- but no can do?
OR >>>> NOW....I'm wondering....what if I just connected my computer directly to the TV...with a big long cable to Some I/O Port?
OR >>>> More naturally...does wifi TV and my computer now with wifi router/modem somehow allow me to put what's on my computer onto this new TV.....then maybe I shold just get a wireless keyboard and I'd be in New Age TV Heaven

  • Connecting iphone makes computer screen go blank

I've had my iPhone for a few months. Initial syncing worked fine. As soon as I tried to sync it a second time with upgrades, new messages, new apps etc already on the iPhone, it didn't acknowledge the iPhone in iTunes, and made the computer screen go black. It does this every time I connect the iPhone.
Went to an Apple sales place, who restored the phone to factory settings, went home, synced fine. Again, next time I tried with all new stuff on the phone already, blank screen.
Weird thing is, my iPod touch works fine on both this and another computer. iPhone has this issue on one computer (where all my photos and other stuff is) but not the other. It's almost like my Toshiba computer and iPhone hate each other!
Any ideas on how to fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and also stopping and restarting the ADMS(?)....

    Hello mcroland,
What make / model computer are we working with? What operating system?
Anytime I hear of a computer screen going blank after running for an extended period of time my first thought is going to be heat.
Open up your system and check it and ensure all fans are working properly and it is cleaned out. Remove all dust bunnies and thoroughly clean the inside of the computer with compressed air.
Especially check any fans that may be located on or around the video card.

  • Connecting iphone with computer

Mostly when I connect my iphone with my computer itunes kicks in and syncing starts up automatically.
However, sometimes nothing happens. Ive even had a screen asking me to connect the iphone to itunes when it (iphone) is already plugged into the computer.
What is going on and can I force a syncing between the two?
    JohnC

Sometimes plugging and unplugging the sync cable from the phone will take care of this.
