Connect Labwindows to third party OPC client by datasocket

Hi
I have a computer that collect RTUs data through GPRS with Labwindows (simple TCP socket) and aving them. I want to use this data in a third party SCADA application by using third party OPC client. Actually I want to use datasocket to send data to datasocket OPC server (publisher is labwindows) and third party OPC client read it by connecting to datasocket OPC server.
1. The question is is it possible at all?
2. Which OPC server in Datasocket I should choose? ( DaqOPC, OPCDemo, OPCFieldPoint,...)
Sorry if they were basic questions.

Naderus,
While I dont know all of the caveats that may come with a few of the acronyms in there, in general, you absolutely can use datasockets via an OPC server. Probably the easiest to use are network shared variables (which are an OPC server). I did notice you had another thread going here. Did you have any luck with the examples and help files they forwarded you to there?

  • How to make SVE a visible OPC server to third party OPC clients?

I've read SVE works as an OPC sever, but when I try to browse it with a third-party OPC client I get no items.
Is there any configuration needed? Is DSC needed?
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361E-01/lvconcepts/opc_conn_from_tpclients/

    Hi Keptat
DCOM shouldn’t be the problem because you are not using the OPC server from an external computer or from other PC user, nevertheless, you can always try to do it.
I’m attaching some links with information about the DCOM privileges and how to configure de SVE.
Are you able to see others OPC servers with your clients?

  • Connect third part opc client to labview

I have no experience with Labview.  I need to connect a third part opc client to get data from Labview 8.5.  When I run the OPC Explorer and connect to the local server I see the data items.  However if I run the free OPC explorer from matrikon it does not find any OPC servers.  I see Variable Engine running in services.  Lookout 6.0 is set at manual and is not running (I don't know if I need this).  This computer is located in another country on the other side of the world and I only have RDP access.  What am I missing?
    Many Thanks

    Hello,
Are you using the DSC module?  With the DSC module you can add a 3rd party OPC client and bind your variables through that.

  • Third party IM Client until Android client is released

    Hello all.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully gotten a third party xmpp client to work on an android device and connect it to the Cisco Jabber service. I see there is an option in the admin console to allow third-party clients but have been unable to get any to work. I have created all of the DNS settings for it but still no joy.
    Thanks all
PS. Hurry up on a cleint for Android

    Hi Christopher,
We recently released the Jabber for Android IM client.  It is available on Google Play now.

  • Error while creating the proxy object to connect to a third party tool.

    Hi,
I tried creating a proxy object with the wsdl file. I even created a HTTP connection to the third party tool. but when I try to execute the whole proxy object, I am getting the below error. Can anyone help me on this?
    "Proxy-Generierung: Fehler aufgetreten"
"Incorrect value: Entity "<<document>>"(92 /3788 ). end tag 'ul' does not match begin tag 'p'"
    Thanks & Regards,
    Veerabhadra Rao A.

do a check on the wsdl file and how you are passing values in the proxy. The tags for XML are not correct. Open the WSDL in IE and see there must be an error. Or probably when passing the actual values to the XML generated each element is not closed properly. Error says tags dont match.

  • Connecting to the Third Party Applicatin through Portal

    Hi,
Does anyone know how do we connect to the Third Party Application through Portal? WHat technology EP uses to connect to the third party application and retrieve data from the system to display?
ALso if i have 2 application connected to the portal and if I retrieve one record from one application, then i want Portal to bring information related to that record from another application. In that case, do we have to maintain referential information about the records in both the applications, so that Portal will know which record id to pull from another application? How does it work?
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Third Party Mail Client with Applescript/Rules

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a solid third party email client for 10.9 that supports Gmail and can start applescripts when certain rules are met.
We've been using Apple Mail for the last few years with a dummy gmail account that triggers applescripts when emails with certain subjects come in. However since updating to 10.9, the rules aren't always starting, and because of the new way gmail folders/labels are handled, they are running multiple times. We're currently running 10.9.1.
    Thanks!

  • Connect Express to third-party router

I am considering buying an AirPort Express to use with AirTunes. But first I want to know if it would be possible to wirelessly connect the AirPort to my third-party 802.11g DSL router to use as a wireless bridge, or whatever it's called.

Not via the AX's Ethernet port.
With the AX's configured as a wireless client any client of the network (wireless or connected via Ethernet to the main base station) will be able to stream music to the AX and use a printer attached to the AX.

  • Can SQL Developer connect to ANY third party database

As of my investigations, SQL Developer can currently connect only to Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL and Access.
What about connecting to any database using JDBC? Is this possible / planned? I'm currently interested in PostgreSQL.
    Thanks, Viliam

In the next release users will be able to connect to Sybase. We do have plans to extend to further third-party databases, but this is not scheduled for the short term. Are you looking for a migration solution? The Migration Technology center has a lot of detail and support we provide for third party database support. http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration/index.html

  • Connect AE to third party wireless router

    Hi all,
Here's what I'm trying to do:
I have a Airport Extreme base that I want to connect to a non Apple wireless router (ISP wireless router). Anybody managed to do that?
I tried setting up the base as WDS connnecting to my third party wireless router but without any success. I can make all the connections, save my AE settings, but when I choose the newly set AE Base, I'm not connected.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    g

Most likely not, as very few non-AirPort routers can be extended with the AirPorts in a WDS. (ref: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php?title=WDSLinked_routernetwork)
You can, however, connect the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) to most non-AirPort routers, via Ethernet, and then set up the AEBS as a bridge.

  • App specific password for third party mail client

I have the mail client both in my iPhone and iPad, when I use app specific password, it kicks me out from one of them. I tried using 2 different app specific passwords, still kicking me out. Is is really like this?

So far the app specific passwords were only required for 3rd party apps, not for "Apple apps". Not sure why you cannot use trusted device verification for iMessage and FT like on the App store or iTunes. or on Apple TV.
Having to generate a different  app specific password for every device that uses iMessage or FT is a pain, but I guess the powers that be at Apple feel it is more secure.

  • Connect Solman and third party system

What kind of RFC destination do I need to create in order to connect with Aris, I've already created TCP/IP connection but the test failed and throw an error:
    Return code: 242
    Location: SAp gateway on host/service
Detail: No connect of TP from host xxxx after 20 sec
I created a blue print in Solman and I can see it in Aris but it´s impossible to synchronize them Aris shows "Model type SAP allocation diagram is not allowed in the current filter"  I think it's because the RFC connection doesn´t work
Can you give some advice, thanks!!

  • Connection timeout with third party router

Recently went to Apple store to fix wireless connection problem.  Per their recommendation, reformatted and reloaded Snow Leopard (at their store) hoping to get my macbook reconnecting to wireless router (netgear). Have another macbook, itouch, ipad2, and pc that all connect to the same router, no problem. The problem MB connected at the Apple store no problem. Now that I am back home, this older MB continues to have the 'connection timeout' reading.  Researched a ton on the internet. Found no solutions. Any suggestions?

It might help to reset the connection settings on your Mac using these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved, recognizing that, depending on your problem, not all of these steps will make sense:
    1) Use the AirPort/Wi-Fi menu bar item to turn AirPort/Wi-Fi off, then on again.
    2) Try to select your Wi-Fi network from the AirPort/Wi-Fi menu.
    3) In the Network panel of System Preferences delete the AirPort/Wi-Fi item from the left column, then add it back.
    4) In the same panel as (3), define a new location and see if you can make that work.
    5) In the same panel, select the AirPort/Wi-Fi connection item, click the "Advanced" button, select the "TCP/IP" tab, then click "Renew DHCP Lease".  Note that the fix this step implements may be temporary.
    6) In the folder /Library/Preferences ( _not_ <yourhomefolder>/Library/Preferences), move the folder SystemConfiguration onto the Desktop, then restart your computer. See if you can now make your AirPort connection work.
These steps may not help, but they'll only take a couple of minutes to try.  Before you try these, if you have any special network settings on your Mac for things like DSL credentials, note all your network settings, because the latter steps will destroy them.  If you got all the way to the last step, if things don't work any worse than before, you can trash the saved SystemConfiguration folder.

  • Connecting AEBS to third party modem/router

I'm not having any luck setting up my AEBS as remote basestation to connect wirelessly to my Zyxel wireless modem/router.
I have the AEBS wired to my quad G5. In Airport Admin Utility of the internet settings Airport WDS is selected. At the WDS host options I have entered the MAC address from the Zyxel modem. In the network settings I have distribute IP addresses off. Also in Port mapping and access controll nothing is selected. At the WDS options I have enabled base station as a WDS remote base station. Main airport ID is the MAC address of the Zyxel. It does not scan or see the Zyxel modem automatically.
I can log on with my PB to the Zyxel wirelessly, but somehow I can't seem figure it out with the G5 and AEBS. I must be doing something terribly wrong... Any tips?
    Thanks,
    Rick

Rick808, Welcome to the discussion area!
Sorry, but that won't work. Apple's WDS only works between Apple's base stations and a very, very few others. I don't believe that it works with any Zyxel devices.

  • OPC client using DataSocket - Error 0x80040154

    hi everyone,
i am setting up OPC comm between LabVIEW 2010 and SMA OPC Server. they are in the same machine. i have followed all DCOM settings there, and i can view and write data of SMA OPC through MatrikonOPC.
then i start using DataSocket Select in LabVIEW. while i run the vi I can see a pop up window showing all running OPC servers in that PC. but while i double-click my SMA OPC server or other OPC servers, i always get this error -
    error code - 0x80040154,
    Class not registered
The server is not properly registered on the machine.
Try running <server>.exe /RegServer for an executable server, or RegSvr32.exe <server>.dll for an inproc server.
i tried following the instruction of last line, but never succeed.
Looking for any kind of help. Thank you very much.

    Hi Daniel,
Thanks for submitting your question. This error occurs because your OPC server is not registered. For example, here is an article that explains how you can register our FieldPoint servers:
How Do I Register an OPC Server Without LabVIEW?
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/662939B4C756729286256C24005530B9?OpenDocument
Yours might require a different method so it is worth contacting the manufacturer of your OPC server and ask them how you can register your server. Uninstalling and reinstalling the OPC software will sometimes take care of any registration issues.
I also thought you would find these links useful:
