Connect Macbook pro retina mavericks osx through hdmi philips flat tv goes green

Heeeelp!
The sound works and the mirroring works. I can see my screen and everything fine.
It's just green!
The entire screen has a very strong green tint. I don't know how to get rid of it!

Open System Preferences, go to Displays and on your external display, click on scaled under resolution and just pick the proper resolution.
I have NO idea why this fixes it but it does. Maybe its a driver issue.

  • How to connect MacBook Pro 17" Mountain Lion with HDMI port on TV, Panasonic TC-P55ST50

Any experience with cables for connecting MacBook Pro 17" Mountain Lion with HDMI port on TV, Panasonic TC-P55ST50 (or similar)?

It depend upon the model (age) of you MBP.  If you have a Thunderbolt or minidisplay port, then you will need a minidisplay/HDMI adapter.
    eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/CBLMDPHDMI/
Or you can get an all in one:
    http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Premium-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt/dp/B004CADYD O/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1361985588&sr=1-3&keywords=minidisplay+hd mi
If you have an older mac with a DVI port, you will need something like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/DVI-HDMI-Cable-6ft-Male-Male/dp/B0002CZHN6
Note that audio is supported via HDMI for MBPs 2010 and later.  Earlier ones require tapping the audio output port.

  • Can't connect Macbook Pro Retina to Dell P2715q 4k Monitor

I received a new Dell 4k P2715q monitor on Friday.  It came with a mini DP to DP cable which I immediately hooked into the Thunderbolt port on my 15-inch, Mid 2012 Macbook Pro Retina.  It worked beautifully on Friday all through the day.  Was very happy with my purchase.
Took the laptop home over the weekend and brought it back today.... plugged into my thunderbolt port again and nothing.... Go HDMI to the monitor's HDMI and it works but only up to 1080p in 30hz which is no good.  So the monitor still seems to be working but the Macbook won't recognize the monitor through the Thunderbolt (mini DP) port.
Any thoughts?  Talked to Dell support which was worthless except to verify that the monitor didn't get fried over the weekend and also talked to Apple who suspected that it was maybe the mini DP cord that Dell sent with the monitor.  I can't believe that a cable went faulty over a weekend when no one else was in my office.....
    Thoughts?  Thanks ahead of time!

    Hey reinier67,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues connecting your MacBook to an HDTV. The following resource outlines some troubleshooting steps that may lead to a resolution:

  • Macbook Pro Retina not working with HDMI

I have a Mac Book Pro Retina that will not work using the HDMI port. I have tried with two Monitors and difference cable and the issue happens on both. I connected one via a Display Port to VGA and it works fine.
I'd like to use the HDMI port. I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.4 (Latest Version).
I have tried deleting the pref panes as outlined in ofther links. Aslo reset pram without sucess.
Is anyone using a Macbook Pro Retina with builtin HDMI port sucessfully with 10.8.4?
If you are using HDMI with Display port let me know if I should get an adpater to test.

    Hi walkerheather,
It sounds like you've already done most of the pertinent steps here:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573
I would recommend going through once and trying anything you may have missed in the section "No video or no signal, image distortion, 'snow,' or flickering" and then follow these steps from the very bottom:
If you tried all of these steps for your display and the video issues persist, contact Apple technical support or take your Apple computer to the nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).
Note: Diagnostic fees may apply for issues not covered under warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan (APP).
    Take care,

  • Macbook pro retina 13 late 2013 hdmi output error during wakeup

    hi
i got a pretty annoying error while my macbook pro retina 13 late 2013 is connected to a 2nd screen (i set the 2nd screen as main screen).
it all seems fine when i put the mac into sleep mode.
when i wake it up, the mac screen shows the background picture and the 2nd screen (still main screen) which should show the login frame, just shows grey/black points.
solution so far when you want to wake your mac:
    1.) wake it up
2.) immediately put it back to sleep
3.) then promptly wake it up again and get your login frame.
does anybody know how to fix that bug?
and btw, i got a second problem:
im running osx mavericks, and id like to turn off the 2nd desktop while the mac is connected to a 2nd screen.
unfortunately, this works only if you close your mac and it is connected to power supply.
my momentary solution is to turn down the brightness to zero: problem, the 2nd desktop is still there and my mouse keeps getting lost on it!
any solutions for that? like you can choose on windows "projector only"!

  • 2 monitors on MacBook Pro (Retina) using Thunderbolt and HDMI ports?

I would like to buy a MacBook Pro with a Retina display.  I want to attach 2 external monitors and Ethernet.  I need to use one Thunderbolt port to attach to my (wired) ethernet.
Can I attach 2 monitors to a MacBook Pro (Retina) using
    1) a mini display port to DVI adapter
    2) a HDMI to DVI adapter?

Yes, it is possible to run 3 monitors at once on the Retina MacBook Pro (2 connected over Thunderbolt and one over  HDMI).
    Displays used in picture below:
Retina on laptop @ “best for Retina”
    iMac used as a display @ 2560 x 1440 via Thunderbolt
    iMac used as a display @ 2560 x 1440 via Thunderbolt/DisplayPort
    LG monitor @ 1920 x 1200 via HDMI
    Hope this answers your question.

  • How to connect macbook pro to panasonic tv with hdmi cable

How to connect macbook pro to panasonic hd tv with hdmi cable

    Hi m,
It depends which MPB you have and the inputs on the TV. The following assumes your TV has an HDMI input which will work with a computer.
This is if your MBP is from April 2010 or newer:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241
First connect the adapter to the MBP and the HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV, then go to System Preferences > Sound > Output > select HDMI.
Or if your MBP is older than that and you have a Mini DisplayPort, you can use something like this: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/CBLMDPHDMID/
If it's older than that, for video you need a DVI or mini DVI to HDMI or whatever input your TV has. For audio, you need a 3.5mm stereo mini plug to RCA or optical (Toslink), depending on what audio input your TV has.

  • Connect MacBook Pro Retina to Ethernet LAN

Is this the adapter I need to connect my 2013 MacBook Pro Retina Display to LAN via Ethernet? There seems to be some question between this and the USB adapter for older MBPs.
    Thank you.

What's the question regarding usb to which you refer? Use the thounderbolt to ethernet adapter you linked to.

  • Macbook Pro Retina won't drive HDMI out

So I was talked into the new MacBook Pro Retina in place of a new Mac Pro by the guys at the Apple store.  I told them I needed to drive 4 displays and they assured me the MBPr would do that.  2 from mini display ports.  1 from HDMI and it's own display.  Fair enough.
Only, the HDMI out seems dead.  I am running two Dell monitors on the mini display to DVI connectors.  I am trying to run a 3rd Dell monitor on HDMI to Disply port but am getting no signal.  None.  Nada.  After a few seconds the monitor tells me there is no signal from the computer and it shuts down.
I have seen a lot of other issues around the HDMI output.  Anyone know the status?  Has Apple bugged this?  Is there a fix in the works?
    Thanks!
    Charles

Try with just the HDMI external; display. I would suspect the HDMO cable if this test does not work. Tray a new HDMI cable. If the new cable does not work, take the computer to an authorized service center. There is no "bug" using HDMI to an external monitor.

You did not remove your Windows partition correctly. You need to remove it using Boot Camp Assistant. If you cannot then you will need to repartition the entire drive back to a single partition/volume.

  • MacBook Pro Retina 15, looking through Murky Water?

What's the best way to calibrate my MacBook Pro Retina 15, it has a Samsung screen and it appears quite tanned in comparison with some built with LG screens, I've increased the white point slightly to remove the yellow mist but it still does not look as good, is there software I can download for automatic ultimate perfection? The built in calibration is okay to try a few examples but I don't trust my own judgement. Help?

    I’m having the same problem.

  • How can I connect my early 2008 MacBook Pro to a tv through HDMI?

I was wondering if there is a way to connect my early 2008 MacBook Pro to a tv using an HDMI port. My MacBook Pro has a DVI output. In the past I bought a DVI to VGA adapter and connected it to a TV that had a PC input that took VGA and a 3.5mm audio cable. I was wondering if anybody has found an adapter or cable that takes a DVI and 3.5 mm audio cord and has only an HDMI cord at the other end. I have a new TV that only has HDMI inputs and would like to be able to connect my laptop to it.

Since you have not identified exactly what MBP you have, but mention DVI, I suspect a cable such as this is what you will need.
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/380694416929?lpid=82
Understand that 2009 MBPs and earlier do not support audio via DVI or minidisplay port.  You would have to tap the audio output port  with a cable such as this:
    http://http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=691009&Q=&is=REG&A =details
I am not endorsing these cable specifically, these are just examples that represent what connections that are required.
    Ciao.
