Connect OMRON PLC CP1E/NA (hostlink) to LabView via Serial Cable

I am trying to connect my PLC (Omron CP1E-NA) to LabView. The PLC supports Hostlink when talking to PC.
I have LabView Full development environment and DSC Module installed. Other modules are avaiable if needed.
My project is to connect this PLC to LabView so that I can develop control interface via LabView. The connection between PLC and PC is RS232 cable.
I am not sure how to configure LabView in order to enable communication with PLC.
Any possible connection methods are welcome. My work is somewhat urgent, so I look forward to your help very much.
Thank you all for your kindly help.

  • How i can connect the pci nican card with stoeber posidyn sds 4021 via serial cable

i'm trying to communicate the stoeber posisyn sds 4021 servo inverter and the pci ni-can card via serial cable. the problem is that 1 RxD and 2 TxD pins dont have any connection available on the can card.
it is important to connect these pins somewhere or can_l and can_h do all the job?
what about the v- terminal, it is possible to connect it in grnd and leave v+ with 8v?

In this situation it may be necessary to contact the manufacturer of this device. It is strongly recommended to use both CAN_H and CAN_L for CAN communication. The V- pin is used as reference ground. The V+ is simply for bus power.

  • Connect Omron PLC CP1L to Labview through NI OPC server using USB connection

Hi Labview experts! I need help on integrating Labview with Omron PLC CP1L using USB connection. When adding a new channel, which of the device driver I should choose for USB connection? And how to link the tag to I/O in cx-programmer? It would be perfect if anyone can guide me through the whole process. Sorry if my questions sounds stupid as I am really new to these.
    Thank you in advance

same here I'll facing a same problem if anyone would share that will really helpful.

  • Connect HP laserjet 2100TN to Imac 10.8 via ethernet cable

I want to connect my old HPlaserjet 2100tn to my new imac os 10.8 computer.  Apple and HP say it is compatible.  The printer was hooked to my G5 via the ethernet cable and worked fine.  There is no usb hookup for this printer that I can find.
I am able to find an IP address for the printer via network, the print/scan finds the printer and adds it, driver is in place (after some searching from apple) and everything looks good.  Only problem is it does not print.  Get error message saying the printer doesn't exist and some other similar messages.
Have spent way too much time talking with apple and HP andit apears I know more about this than them anyway.  It's too big a challenge I think.
Do I need to run through my router (old airport base staion that works just fine...looks like a spaceship) which has a port for another ethernet cable?  My internet is wireless, this printer in not wireless capable (IR though..old), but can I hook it in and operate that way without srewing up my wireless internet?
Come on...someone has the simple answer to this question.  Just want to use my old postscript laser printer every now and then.
    Thanks for your help.

This may not help at all, but I have an HP Color LaserJet 2605dn, and one day it just stop being part of my network, as far as I could tell. Would not print, could not be found on the network, even after manually putting in network information.
I reset the printer. I did a NVRAM initializer and a Super NVRAM initializer. I found out how from the service manual for the printer.
I the setup the printer again, like I had taken it out of the box new.
Runs fine. Prints, is found on the network, can use the web based software it has in it.
Maybe this may work for you.
    Good Luck.

  • When I connect my IPAd 2 to my desktop pc via usb cable desktop opens import photo screen. I am trying to copy/move downloaded files from my PC to Ipad 2. How do I correct this issue? Tx.

When I connect my Ipad 2 to my desktop (via USB) import photos screen open on desktop. I am trying to coppy/move files from desktop to Ipad 2. Import photos come up with import error and I cannot do anything else. How do you correct this issue? Tx. New user.

Actually, you can get photos onto an ipad from a PC. Connect them via USB (or wireless sync if you have that set up), go to the photos tab in iTunes, I don't have iTunes in front of me but there will be an option to sync photos from a folder on the PC to the iPad. You can choose an existing folder or make a new folder specifically for this purpose. Put the photos in said folder and then sync.
The photos from that folder will be transferred to your iPad

  • Can I connect my Linksys WRT160N V3 with Airport Extreme via ethernet cable?

I have a Linksys WRT160N V3 router (Living Room) to my cable modem but the wifi does not reach certain spots in the house where its necessary.  If I buy a Airport Extreme and place it in my bedroom and connect it with an ethernet cable that I have connected with my iMac will the airport extreme work as a wifi extender since wifi does not reach my room?

Yes, the AE can be simply put in bridge mode so it will become an AP and set the wireless to create a wireless network.. you can then use same name and same security as linksys.. this is called roaming network.

Although the apple instructions have two apple routers, any two wireless routers will work the same way.

  • Connecting aiport extreme and airport express via ethernet cable ?

Is it possible to connect an airport extreme to an airport express via ethernet cable, I ask because I want to expand the range of my wifi network to the basement of my house, the floors are really thick concrete so I installed some ethernet cable runs, I hope somebody can help me, thank you.

+How do I do it ? Do I connect the modem to the airport extreme and then run the ethernet cable from one of the extreme's ethernet ports to the express ethernet on the basememt and a second cable from another of the extreme's ethernet connectors to the express on the second floor+
    Yes, this is exactly correct.
To configure each AirPort Express (AX)
Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab below the icons to name your device, assign a device password and adjust time zone settings. Give each Express a separate name so you can identify then easily.
    Click the Wireless tab
    Wireless Mode...Create a Wireless Network
Wireless Network Name...Exact same name as your AirPort Extreme network
Radio Mode 802.11n (802.11b/g compatible) if you want to use 2.4 GHz
    Channel...Automatic
Wireless Security...Exact same setting as your AirPort Extreme network
Wireless Password....Exact same setting as your AirPort Extreme network
    Click the Internet icon
Change the Connection Sharing setting at the bottom to "Off (Bridge Mode)"
Click Update at the lower right and the AirPort Express will restart in 20-30 seconds
I think it is easier to configure each AirPort Express with AirPort Utility by temporarily connecting it to your computer with a short ethernet cable. Once you have saved the configuration, you can move the Express to the location that you need.
Please post back on your progress.

  • How to setup and configure NI OPC Server to OMRON PLC (CJ2H model) using FINS Ethernet communication protocol?

    Hi,
Could someone help me in the setup and configuration of NI OPC server to OMRON PLC (CJ2H model) using FINS Ethernet communication protocol? I already read some materials available in the web but it uses a different PLC and communication protocol. The OPC server is installed in my laptop and I'm using Windows 8 as my OS. I used a cross over RJ45 LAN cable and connected to the ETN21 module of the PLC. I was able to confirmed the communication of my laptop and PLC by pinging the ip address of the ETN21. I also tried to configure the OPC server based on the documents I just read online. I created a channel, device and tag to the OPC server. By the way, I just need to read the data from the tag I created. Can someone also tell me how to monitor the data on the tag? I hope that you could help me. Thank you in advance.

    Good day,
Try following the instructions on the driver’s help, take a look at the attach picture. It should be a good starting point. After the PLC is configured you can use this tutorial (Connect LabVIEW to Any PLC Using OPC » http://www.ni.com/white-paper/7450/en/) for a guide on how to monitor the tags.
    I hope this helps

  • Connecting a plc without opc server

hi, can i connect a plc to labview 7.1 (to send and read data) without an opc server, using just an rs232 cable from plc to pc.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    syd_b,
RS232 is just the physical interface, but it says nothing about the communication protocol. Allen Bradley PLCs use several serial protocols, e. g. the DF-1 protocol. You can either try to implement the protocol by yourself by using VISA calls (good documentation is required) or you can purchase a library. NI doesn't offer an Allen-Bradley library for LabVIEW, but I have found a vendor with a quick Google search.

  • Communicate with Omron PLC

    Hi, All LV Experts.
I have 1 project which require using LV 8.2 to communicate with Omron PLC model CJ1M-CPU11, surf around & found out that require using IA OPC server which I don't have & do not plan to invest on it.
So, seek for other advise on how to develop such project without using OPC Server.  The project is to monitor & sending data to PLC memory through RS-232 as what OPC server did.
    Hope to get any suggestion....
    Thanks in advance.

You may want to take a look at a download available at MrPLC.com that allows the CJ1M to serve as a modbus slave via the CPU's serial port.  I think it's also available somewhere from Omron.  Haven't used it myself.
    <snip>
The Slave Interface allows the use of CS1G/H and CJ1G/H/M to be used like a slave device of MODBUS network. The PLC responds to the commands of a Master MODBUS device connected to the CPU RS232 port of an OMRON CS1/CJ1 PLC.  The Slave Interface responds to commands 03H (reading from data memory) and 10H (writing to data memory).

  • Siemens PLC S7-300 data to LabVIEW RT via Profibus ?

How can I acquire Siemens PLC S7-300 data to LabVIEW RT via Profibus ? (My RT is hooked up to SCXI chassis.) There is the PCI-1500 Profibus board - but I'd have to use it on another PC running regular LabVIEW, then get data somehow to the SCXI chassis... that's too complicated! Any ideas ? Thanks! benji.

We are currently working on a driver for the Profibus cards and LabVIEW RT. I imagine that NI is too. Our intention is to help fill in the Industrial network gaps for LVRT. If you'd like, I'll send you an update in 2-4 weeks. Maybe you can help us beta test it.
