Connect Skype to my Proxy

I have a proxy set up on my mac, and I wanted to know how to route all skype traffic through that proxy.  Someone was able to find my IP address through skype and i'd like that to not happen again.

Just to update, don't know for what reason now I'm able to access the internet thru proxy after establish the VPN connection to my office.
I did not change any setting at all and suddenly able to access thru proxy but I just can't ping the proxy server ip, the rest server ip I'm able to ping...strange...

    Hi Team,
We are running Websense WCG/Microsoft ISA  proxy in our environmenet , Suddently few days back Skype is stop working for both ISA and Websense users and during the troubleshooting I have observed Skype is not taking proxy settings and sending traffic directly to Firewall and being blocked due to no rules for random Destination IP address and port.
Can you please let me know the fix for this issue i have read so many blogs and form but can't get any working solution.
I have already done changes on Websense to tunnel skype but it's not working and also i have make the changes on skype file %appdata% shared.xml to block the UNpN ports <disableUNpN>1</disableUNpN>.
Please let me know what changes we need to perform on Skype regestry or any files to use it as proxy

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
Please start by checking Skype Options ->Advanced -> Connection and confirm the proxy settings are still correct.
If that doesn't help: Were there any updates to Skype clients installed recently? Can you share which Skype client version is in use in your network?

  • Since installation of last 4.0b12 version, I'm unable to connect to any https site through a proxy. Connection works if no proxy is involved, with proxy I receive a message like "proxy refuses the connection". Thank you for your answer

I'm connected to a customer's network and I have to use a proxy.
I correctly authenticate myself to the proxy and I try to access https://mail.google.com.
I receive a message that the proxy refuses the connection.
I noticed that this happens with all the https sites.
If I connect with my mobile internet key without proxy, I'm able to connect: the combination of proxy and https is failing.
Other computers on the same network with different browsers can connect to https through the proxy.

I'm working with the Firefox development team on this one. As far as I can tell, they seem to think that there are 2-3 different problems with the same/very similar symptoms, all involving proxies. They think they've fixed them all for RC1.
Right now, it looks like we just want people to test an early build.
    You can get that here:
Install that somewhere (not in your current install directory), quit all open Firefox instances and try it. Let me know if it works.

  • Safari can't connect to the web proxy server (HTTP)

    Hello,
I have following problem. I need to connect to the internet using a proxy server. I went to System Preferences/Network/Wi-Fi/Advanced.../Proxies. Then, I selected Web Proxy (HTTP) and enetered server's IP address and port. It looks like I did everything correctly, but Safary can't open any page because "Safari can't connect to the web proxy server (HTTP)". Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    There are three possibilities:
    1. You entered the wrong address and port number for the proxy.
    2. You entered the wrong user name and password, if applicable.
    3. The proxy doesn't work or is incompatible.

  • Skype partially ignoring proxy settings

Skype is partially ignoring my proxy settings, the video and audio itself is going through the proxy but for some reason it is ignoring my proxy and is making direct connections to db3msgr6012716.gateway.messenger.live.com and blu405-m.hotmail.com, I have researched this issue and apparently it was discovered in 2012 so why isn't this fixed yet?

I am running into the same issue with a few
sites...especially since the TCP timeout to realize that is has to
revert to a proxy is not conducive. I would think a client side or
registry setting would fix this, but cannot find where to change
    that. Any ideas?

  • Creative Cloud cannot connect from behind a proxy.

One of the most stupid things that Adobe has done is this stupid Creative Cloud solution. We have multiple users who are unable to access the Creative Cloud because the "brains" (and I use that term loosely) at Adobe decided to change their application without any warning.
When using the Adobe Application Manager, the software would not connect to the Adobe servers when using a proxy, but that was fine because at least authentication was working. Now even that is failing since the update from Adobe Application Manager to Creative Cloud Desktop App. After much testing, and countless trials in trying to find a full application which does need to be constantly updated everytime it does connect to the internet, I was able to work out that if a proxy pac file is being used, then the application does not connect and fails because it cannot find the internet. When a proxy server and port is used, then it connects, but this is not a suitable solution.
Is there anyone who has been able to use the software with proxy pac files enabled?
Btw, here are some interesting reponses from the Adobe tech support who was neither supporting nor tech savvy:
"Do you have a connection to the internet?" - After remoting on to my machine ...FROM THE INTERNET
"You need to start the machine in safe mode." ME:"Why?" Support: "Because this free up resources, for the application to run"
"It looks like the Internet connection is not working" - After repeatedly clicking Retry
"I'll contact the 2nd tier support and we will be able to help you, because our main concern is that you can get a connection" Me:"How long will that take?" Support: "A couple of hrs" - 4 hrs later and still no word from tech support and I have already worked out the issue.
So for any Adobe people, who actually want to help, I'm still waiting on my callback.
All others, let me know if anyone has been able to get this working with proxy pac files.

For any one trying to get this stupid thing working, I was able to find a solution for our environment.
Namely adding both a proxy pac file for the users and then enabling the Proxy server settings for the application. This allowed the Adobe Creative Cloud application to connect to the internet and update. This also meant that we didn't need to add the sites into our filter list as they were already enabled for the users.
Hope this helps others trying to get this working
