Connect to 5 GhZ Band on Cisco E3000 (with Macbook Pro)
Hi,
I just recently bought the Cisco E3000 and I set it up and such and everything works great (set-up ran through my computer). The only problem I have is that my own macbook pro won't connect to the 5 Ghz band and I don't know how to make it connect to it. My brother's old macbook and new macbook connect fine to the 5 Ghz. And my parent's older PC laptops connect to the 2.4 Ghz band. I googled this problem and I saw that other people tried to assign a different name to the 5 Ghz band and then to assign the computer's preference to that but I don't know how to create a unique name for each band.
Please help me!! Thanks a ton!!! Any help would be appreciated!!
Which network adapter you are using on your Mac computer....?
Make sure that the adapter you are using on your Mac computer should 5Ghz network.If it support then,you can try by changing the wireles channel on the router.To change the channel or the network name on the router,open the Cisco Connect software and go to Advance settings,there you can open the setup page of the router and make the required changes.

Can someone connect in FaceTime if they are using a friends Macbook Pro, yet, doens't have an Apple ID?? For example, I have an IPAD and a Macbook Pro. Can I connect to FaceTime on my Macbook Pro and connect with a friend using my IPAD????
I have also tried changing the contact emails(you can contact me by) in Facetime(diff email for IPAD and Macbook Pro). Facetime tried the call, I see the accept buttom appear and it goes away as the call never connects? Any ideas??

Can anyone tell me why I can not connect my Blackberry or my iPhone to my new Macbook pro? I had no problem with my old Macbook.
What type of headphones were you using? I have a set of Microssft headsets, with the built-in mic and connected via USB, and have no problems.

i have just used air display with macbook pro. i have disconnected now from apple tv. but my laptop screen is still very small like its connected to the tv. this means all the tabs and writing is very small. like the display down the bottom where al the applications are, is n the middle of the page and not spread down the bottom. this is seriously annoying! all the writing is every small and the tabs are small and its hard to read. the air display link has disappeared from my computer. but the laptop screen is still very small. i want to know how do i get rid of this and return my macbook screen to its normal size. thank you

If your content is still being displayed incorrectly, I would check the resolution setting for the built in display with this article:
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your display’s resolution
If it keeps happening whenever you use AirPlay then I would use this section of the following article to reset the display system:

Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
Restart your computer.

Trying to use it with Rosetta Stone and I cant get it to recognize my speech at all, says the headset isnt plugged in. Went to setting and made sure it was on line in and it is not registering their either. Help!

Until the MacBook Air was released and supported in 10.5, the Mac did not consider USB to be a valid Networking Protocol. So set the Mac with USB solutions aside.
To connect computer-to-computer, you typically need to be using an Ethernet crossover cable. Assigning the same address to two Ethernet devices is never the solution -- it gives a Network Conflict, just as you said.
If your Windows box has some mechanism for Sharing its WiFi connection over Ethernet, you would have to follow its rules. Whether that means Manually assigning an Ethernet Address in the same range or the PC will provide the Address, I do not know.
Best success may be running an Ethernet cable to your Wired/Wireless Base Station, or using a "gaming adapter" (Ethernet-to-Wireless no drivers required) connected to the Mac's Ethernet port to give it WiFi access. What is your Base Station {Cable, DSL, FIOS, Other} ? Ethernet cables can be up to 100 meters (an American Football Field). Often the Base Station can be moved closer for more convenience. -

The Hardware Test detected a RAM problem. Take out the chips and make certain that the connections are clean and reinstall them. Make certain that they are well seated.
If the problem occurs again, test with one chip at a time. Also swap bays if necessary.
Please indicate if you have installed new RAM and if so what brand and the specifications.

Does 'Network Connect' work with MacBook Pro?
My safari unexpectedly quits when attempting to log into my company's VPN.
- I log into our VPN website and the connection begins to initialize
- with my MacBook, Safari (2.0.3) unexpectedly quits
- with my PowerBook, 'Network Connect' automatically starts and the VPN connection completes without any problem
Does 'Network Connect' work with MacBook Pro? Any ideas?Resolved. MacBook Pro was having trouble dowloading the 'Network Connect' application when I logged into my VPN client for the first time. I copied it from my PowerBook G4 over to the appropriate folder and it now works perfectly.
