Connect to Apple Store but not iTunes store

Can serf web, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, got latest as of today.....

We're trying to keep all issues in that thread so there's one major thread for this problem GeorgeVargas suggested we log the details of our ATV so we can get a picture of all the models and software versions affected. It will also make it easier for Apple to reiview this issue.

I was having this problem. The settings on my wireless router was set to hide my IP address so it wouldn't connect. When I changed that, I connected no problem. While this is annoying since I don't want my IP address to be out there, I just switch my router when I need to connect to the App/iTunes Store. Hope this helps. It worked for me.

Okay...so I've read through all of the support articles on the support section of the site and I've tried out all of the diffrent solutions and I've got nothing. Even after getting the newest verison on Itunes on my computer still wont make it work.
Would saying that I previously had the bankerfox virus on my computer help anybody to find a solution to my problem? Anybody?!

You may want to start by telling is what error you are getting. If you are able to connect to the internet but not iTunes, your firewall and/or virus protection/security software is blocking the necessary ports. I would disable your security software and test. If disabling doesn't work, the nextoptiom would be to either completely remove any and all security software or contact the manufacturer for assistance in configuring the program to allow the ports.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

What do you mean you cannot log into iTunes? There is no login for iTunes.
If you can log into the iTunes Store, you're logged in.

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains helpful advice concerning payment information. Removing the payment information from your Apple ID will remove the data from the various stores.

I live in Zambia and there is no itune store here.I just upgraded my ios and now i want to install apple apps but unfortunately itunes store cannot recognize Zambia in my billing plan.Somebody help because i need most of these apps which i have lost.

The living issue is complex in my case. Legally speaking, I have no personal residence globally. I just live wherever my father goes, which is everywhere. I'm an expat and it seems that these sites aren't really expat-friendly. They seem to be built for localization and assume everyone stays in the same place.
I don't know what I'd be considered. I'm a US passport holder and live in China, but I only speak some Chinese and I can't read it (it using non-latin characters is just too much for my mind's memory to handle). Besides that, I'm not interested in popular Chinese apps. They tend to just be annoying and kooky and generic and put together badly, often full adware and spyware (speaking for most Chinese software, in fact). In fact, a lot of apps I want are illegal in China (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and I use a VPN to use the services. I assume I wouldn't find these apps on the Chinese store. In fact, last I checked, there wasn't many English apps on the Chinese app store. This is probably due to their strict moderation or something.
I've been going to international schools since I got here and college would be in English too. I can speak some Chinese, but not read it.
Well, I guess the answer is that I can't use the App Store in English. So I guess I'll just sign out everything on my phone involving my Apple account and just start using third-party tools to do my business.

Artwork showing in Podcast App but not iTunes Store

I updated my podcast art recently as I've had a site redesign, and typically now, the podcast artwork is not showing up in the iTunes Store. What's peculiar however is that if I subscribe to one of the podcasts in the iOS Podcast App, the artwork shows up no problem. This leads me to believe that the feeds are working fine, therefore I can't see the issue?

IPod connects to new PC, but not iTunes

I bought a new laptop (WIndows XP) a few days ago, but when I tried to connect my iPod it doesn't appear in the iTunes 'Sources' list. It appears in the 'My Computer' folder, and when I connect it to the computer iTunes opens!
I've had my iPod for over a year, and I know it works with my old PC, and am completely stumped on what to do.... please help!

I have exactly the same problem as Liam, except that it didn't suddenly start working. I bought my iPod a month ago and it was working fine until my computer crashed and i had to re-install itunes + ipod software. they work fine but iTunes can't connect to iPod, I can see it in my computer, so windows recognises it. i have tried all the suggested solutions to the problem on the trouble shooting guide but none have worked. Just as the title says. I can connect my mac, iPads and work laptop via my apple phone but cannot link laptops directly to the internet via wi fi if they are not Apple. Why is this?

You are not explaining your problem very well.
Are you using 3G, a BTWifi hotspot or using a BT Internet connection via a BT Homehub?
Are you tethering your devices to your iPhone so that they can connect to the Internet?

Can't Permanently My Apps. Shows in App Store but not iTunes.

There are a couple of apps that are in my Purchased "Not on this phone" section. I deleted "yes, I've tried reinstalling it" the apps from my phone but as I connect it to my computer, it is no where to be found in the App section of my iTunes. I've synced it multiple times but will not show on my iTunes for me to permanently delete. Other apps aren't an issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I truly understand syncing. I have 34+ gigs of space taken up on music alone and would like to bring that down. I synced my ATV with my iMac and it added all the music to my ATV taking up the 34+ gigs and don't want all that space of the 160gb on the ATV used on music, so if I choose the custom sync and then choose only certain things in the music section will that space free up?
